Decided to check this place out on my way by. My friends weren't hungry so I decided to get something to eat by my self. I had the primo pesto zappi (calzone). The zappi had chicken, spinach, artichoke hearts, peppers and feta cheese. It was so good. Next time I visit I am definitely trying one of their pizzas.

I came in here for happy hour to get a quick bite to eat with my child. There was no one else in the restaurant other then the 2 employees working. I ordered the spicy wings and a small pizza. The wings were flavorful but the meat itself was borderline repulsive. It was mushy and gooey and just, not good. I did not have more then one and ended up regretting that one for the next hour. The pizza was ok, not bad but not extraordinary. Now, I like to support my local businesses but I can't say nice things about Flying Pie. Mainly because the "service" or whatever you would call it was terrible! Seriously awful and I'm not even talking about myself... While I was eating, a man, his wife and child came in to pick up their pizza(s). Long story short, someone at flying pie made the mistake of putting hot peppers on their pizza. The man picking up the pizza was really nice about it though, even though it was FLYING PIE'S FAULT! And this guy says sorry about 10 times (I don't know why he was apologizing, but ya know, people do that) he keeps saying "ya, sorry about that" The employee(s) does not apologize ONCE. This is where is gets cringe worthy... the (female) employee asks him if he'll take it with the peppers, (ha, HA!!) I think to myself, wow, OK, go on... The guy kinda laughs which I can only imagine is out of disbelief and says "no". I kid you not, the employee makes the "ugh!" noise right then and there and proceeds to tell him "well, it's gonna be another 25 minutes" Ooooh, I was soooo mad. Kudos to this nice man and his wife for keeping their composure in the face of this HORRIBLE customer service. (from the lady with the long brown hair, raspy voice?)

Flying Pie Pizzeria is the BEST pizza in the world! The facilities aren't the greatest but it's about the Pizza Pie! Back in my college days living in the Dorms, some of my Dorm mates took me to Flying Pie in Portland over on SE Stark St. I've never forgotten it. Whenever I'm in Portland, I try to eat there. Apparently, someone knows the owner. Flying Pie could easily become the next Chic Fil A You won't be disappointed. The best 45.00 pizza Pie you've ever eaten !!

Worst place ever -- wait an hour for pizza and never get it. Could care less about their customers --awful Place go to dominos. Other customers who ordered after we're getting service before. When confronted the employees had absolutely no response. Yes I did lose my cool but shouldn't have to confront staff about your order after an hour. Wish I would have read the negative reviews here first. The pizza is not worth it and toppings were poor quality cold veggies. Yuck! Oh and my profanity-- I said this is fing ridiculous.

Depending on how many people you're trying to serve, get one pizza less than what you would normally get. This place loads up their pizzas with looottts of the toppings. It's so loaded that when you pick up your slice of pizza, there is some weight to it (haha). Also, the dough is always soft, and you can easily tell its handmade. It's a solid pizza place in Issaquah. I always get the supreme pizza, and after a slice and a half, I am ready for a nap.

Ordered from this place for the first time tonight. For 2 12' pizzas and a dozen wings, bill came to $56 I got off the phone and told my husband, "This better be some damn good pizza for 56 bucks" DING DING DING, WE HAVE A WINNER!!! Was worth every penny! When the pizza's were delivered, my husband said " feel he weight of these boxes", I took the boxes and it felt like 5 pounds. We opened the boxes and the pizza's were LOADED with tons of toppings. I ordered x-thick with extra cheese, pepperoni & mushrooms. IT WAS OVERLOADED WITH TONS OF YUMMY TOPPINGS, THEY DO NOT SKIMP!!!! I had 3 pieces and full to the brim. My husband said his Hawaiian was great! The wings I didn't like, but my husband loved. They were loaded with Italian seasoning and baked. I didn't care for the seasoning, I like my wings BBQ and deep fried, so I will pass on the wings next time, but the pizza, HELL YES WE WILL ORDER AGAIN!!!!!

Wow. That's the summary of confusing disappointment. Trying to order online with them and paying cash is not viable. It HAS to be with a card. They have a FREE CHEESE pizza deal with orders over a certain amount...which my order would have been...but couldn't finalize it online because I want to pay with cash. ???. So, I call. I order the same thing I just put 15 minutes into online and ask for the FREEPIZZA deal they advertise. "So sorry, that's only online." Really? I just tried to do your online maze and find out, at the end, you don't want my cash...and have to call you...and you want to pull that crap on me? I called Zeeks. They got my $50. Business must be so amazing to turn these dollars away...from a guy right down the street.

This place is one of the most filthy, overpriced places to purchase food, like they are relying on sentimental charm from decades ago to pull them out of what appears to be a very bland rut. The salad bar is stale and gross, as is the dusty interior. For the price, it's disappointing that their pizza is a lousy step sideways to a Digornio's. Skip the heartache and wallet ache and go to the Front Street Market next door for take and bake.

This is an old school hole in the wall Pizza Joint. With the old arcade & pinball decor, this place brought back fond memories of both my college days and growing up. It's a shame that there are not more of these types of places. I had the Vegetarian Pizza...LOVED IT. They didn't fully cook the vegetables (ie tomato's, mushrooms, green peppers, onions, olives, etc), so you could taste the freshness. Doubt they use organic, but if they did, major kudos. Lost a couple quarters in the Raiden Arcade as it was jammed and I probably made the jam worst. Salad bar looked kinda boring and they had ultra cheap utensils. Parking was kind of tricky so have fun looking for spaces if you come during peak hours. Awesome place, will definitely come back again.

Ordering experience: 1 Atmosphere: 3 Pizza: 4 I tried to call in an order because I was on the road. Unfortunately the person who picked up the phone was so quiet I couldn't hear them. Rather than call back we decided to stop in and order to go. When we arrived I could tell why the employee could not hear me, there was an entire baseball team in the restaurant! Unfortunately, the people ahead of us were ordering for the team which resulted in a long wait time. They were actually kind of rude to the cashier and kept saying things like " real Italians do it this way". They even ordered a sandwich that was not on the menu and tried to school the cashier on the correct title for the sandwich. Who does that?! The pizza was ready on time despite how busy they were. The pizza was great, fresh toppings, good crust, however, I'm not sure the price is right for what you get. I'm going to try ordering online in the future. I'd like to try other things on the menu and see if the price is justified.

Hands down best pizza around. Been going here over 15 years and the pizza is consistently awesome. Not your thin-crust New York style, these pizzas are thick and heavily loaded with fresh ingredients. Don't forget to order their homemade ranch for dipping!

In a world of sub-par, strip mall pizzerias, this place is a unique gem. 1. They sell pizza by the slice. 2. Several good micros on tap. 3. Old video games and pinball machines. 4. Crazy stuff hanging from the ceiling. 5. Good prices. 6. Laid back atmosphere. 7. Outdoor seating. 8. The pizza is pretty good--nothing fancy, but it's tasty.

Pretty awesome place! He salad bar was my favorite part! "Old school" salad bar if that makes any sense. Great ingredients, fresh, and tasty. We ordered two 12inch pizzas a pepperoni for my son and I and my husband got Chive pizza. Great ingredients! Was really good! My son ate two slices that's how good it was! Atmosphere was awesome! Great place for families! I love the vibe in there too! My son is a little loud but it felt like it was ok, a few other kids were running around playing with all the arcade games! If we're ever in the area again we will for sure stop by! Great pizza, great salad, just a little pricy for a family of four.

[I drafted this in August and am just posting it, so it was a while ago] I've never understood the fascination people have with Flying Pie Pizza. I live a five minute walk away, and occasionally go in for a slice. It's good, well made pizza, but the "best pizza ever" makes me think people haven't lived in places with lots of good pizza. I never cared enough one way or another until last night. I had a party and friends brought pizza over. They were stunned at the price--I'm not sure how it added up, but when they ordered two large pizzas it rang in at about $90 with tax. They changed the order to something less absurd but it was still way overpriced. I looked at their menu, and it's the most expensive pizza I can find anywhere. There's nothing to justify that kind of gourmet pricing. One of the pizzas that specifically was supposed to be no cheese came with cheese. My friend spent ten minutes on the phone with the staff and manager. They confirmed with the order taker that it was supposed to be no cheese and their fault. After quite a bit of haggling, they agreed to send someone out with a replacement. They didn't have a driver available, and I had to get on the phone to tell them they could walk it over (which they eventually did). Everyone there is always friendly, but this was frustrating and disappointing on so, so many levels. Mistakes happen, but the absurd prices and the difficulty in getting a replacement are uncalled for.

Beware of delivery orders! In the last year, Flying Pie delivered 4 of 4 pizzas with less & wrong toppings (read "missing some meat"!). Even ordering pick-up is now tenuous -- it's chaos on the phone & they may or may not confirm your $36 pizza (18-inch, + more for tax). Yes, FPP earned the 5-star reviews -- they WERE our favorite -- Flying Pie forgot reputations are built everyday. Eat-in: only way to go!! AND ask about their "frequent diner" program, that they don't mention anymore.

All I can say is... OMG on the happy hour specials here! Happy hour is from 3 - 5 and not only is their pizza the best; they also have amazing wings! Flying Pie is located in the heart of downtown Issaquah sharing it's location with the local market and other various stores. Parking up front is usually a bother, but the shared parking lot has given me 100% success rate at finding a spot. They have some old school arcade games (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Galaga and Pinball Machines!) and the place is generally clean. However, you came here for the Pizza and the Pizza is quite amazing! I must admit though... I haven't been here outside of Happy Hour so all I can talk about is the Happy Hour :-) Oh, and their wings... I am surprised at how good the wings are! They are big, meaty chicken wings! They are hit or miss at times however, as some times they season them way too much and it is overpowered by all the stuff they put on there.

I love the pizza at flying pie, but it makes me very sad that you have to spend $60 to get delivery. It's expensive pizza as it is, so wtf? They lost our money tonight and will definitely lose it in the future. How you doing, Zekes Pizza? :) Zekes...you just gained a new loyal customer. Not so sorry, Flying Pie.

Highly recommend their (gluten free) vegi pizza. I am from Chicago and tried all the hyped pizza restaurants for spinach and vegi pizzas there. Recently I found gluten doesn't really agree with me and has been avoiding pizza (and I am in Bellevue, so wasn't too much interested in any pizza anyway). Then, I got to try gluten free vegi pizza from this pizzeria. It was the best vegi pizza. Period. Somehow dough was still crispy (even though it was a take-out) and vegies were fresh and yummy. I am so glad to find this place! definitely will visit again.

Delicious!! Love the thin crust veggie pizza options! We've ordered for the office and it's always a crowd pleaser!

The pizza here is absolutely stellar. Yes, you will have to wait a while for them to bake it, but that's one of the signs of a great pizza. This is one of those hole-in-the wall places that you really love finding. I really can't say enough about how good their pizza is. It's very thick and filling too, so when the 16-inch says 5-6 people, it's serious!

    (5)
  • Whit H.

We just had my son's birthday party here, and everyone had a great time. The pizza is incredible, and the beer selection is mostly local, which means it's awesome (pitchers of Manny's!). Plus, they have a Doctor Who pinball machine, and that goes a long way (through space and time). Worth the visit.

THE standard by which all non-Neapolitan pizza should be judged. If you don't like Flying Pie then you must hate fun.

In a world where gourmet pizzas are increasingly common, what I love about Flying Pie Pizzeria is it's everything I remember about pizza as a kid. It's nothing fancy, but it's a straight-up, classic pizza place with great pies - and arcade games to boot. Pros (7) 1) The pizza here is solid. They're certainly not revolutionary but if you're looking for some great pizza in Issaquah, they definitely have it. I like their toppings and their dough is solid. Great crust! 2) Flying Pie Pizzeria's pizzas are huge and they certainly don't skimp on toppings. 3) They have my favorite beers, including PNW classics Manny's and Mac & Jack's African Amber Ale 4) I love their Primo Pesto pizza which has artichoke hearts, feta cheese, spinach, roasted red peppers, black olives, and pesto. 5) Even their Combo Supreme is very good and I really like the sausage they use. 6) From 11am - 3pm weekdays (and all day Monday), you can get pizza by the slice. 7) Happy Hour is from 3-5 weekdays and you can get a 12'' pizza for $10. Cons (1) 1) Pizzas are on the expensive side. An 18'' Combo Supreme tops out at about $36. 1a) Not everyone will be crazy about the interior here. It's certainly not fancy, but I personally don't mind it. It's a classic pizza place (read: tacky interior). Overall: Flying Pie Pizzeria isn't a place that will blow your mind as they're certainly not redefining pizzas, but what they are doing is making classic pies that are very, very good. While it's a little expensive, I'm willing to overlook it because I simply enjoy everything about this place from their classic pizza place atmosphere to their toppings. If you're a fan of Northlake Tavern (in Seattle), you will undoubtedly like Flying Pie Pizzeria. THUMBS UP!

I can't be too generous with the 5 star ratings, but I won't argue with someone else for giving them 5. This place is just a little on the expensive side, but I keep going back. I keep going because it is good, very good. The kind of place you go to knowing that the pizza is going to be fantastic, they will have good beers on tap. You can play some vids if you choose, the game might be on the tv. Just a straight comfortable place to enjoy a good pizza, a fine beer, and never EVER had bad service there. A little secret. Ask for a "shrimp pizza". I know it's not on the menu, but they will make it and you will never be the same.... :-)

Always love flying pie they have a great happy hour and the kids (that includes me) play video games while we wait. The salad bar is old school and I love it. Mix the ranch and Italian dressing cause it tastes great!

One of the best deals in Issaquah for standard pizza at an OUTRAGEOUSLY great price. Their pizza is good - nothing to write home about - but good pizza. The slices are huge. The salad bar is absolutely nothing to write home about - bagged iceberg lettuce - but they DO have it and it is a nice option if you're dining in. I'd give it a 3.5 if I had the option.

    (3)
  • Chris W.

Best pizza I have ever had. Great fresh ingredients. They are not stingy with the toppings either. The atmosphere is standard fare, but hey, it's a pizza joint. It is a little more expensive than most but it is well with it. Great place. Go there!

  • jody g.

there is this seasonal slice that has chunks of roasted garlic all over it...was'nt really into garlic much until I had that slice of pizza... I have been craving it since then. You may never find a slice of pizza this good if you're a garlic lover. I recommend the trip to Issaquah... i believe its the summer season they have this type. Also to mention the rest of the pizza, its very good, you want good quality this is it. Hopefully you dont have a problem stopping when you eat cause you wont want to quit until youre belly is bursting and you have to unzip your pants.

    (5)
  • Antonio R.

The pizza here is best described as something between a NY style pizza and a Chicago style pizza. The crust isn't thick like a Chicago style, but there are so many toppings that you can't fold the pizza like a NY style pizza...it's the kind of pizza that requires a knife and fork to eat. Oh, I forgot to mention...the pizza tastes great! Also, you will get full from one slice! Definitely recommend this pizza joint.

so this is hard. i have to say, for a ground beef or sausage pizza, they're awesome. like a ton of meat! however, there are some drawbacks: the first is that the pies COST $35+!!!! Holy Shi-! That is pretty high, especially as the place is a TOTAL dive. it is even dirty. The salad bar looks like it was imported from a school cafeteria. and the staff can be moronic and lame. I do like the beers they have on tap, Mac&Jacks, but they're $5. it is just highway robbery. good pizza, but way too $$$$.

the pizza is pretty good - i was hoping to be knocked off my feet, due to the price, enjoyed the place, but wasn't overly amazed. my friend suggested the place - it is her favorite pizza place. i enjoyed it, was pretty good - i would go back and try something different - a lot of options to choose from. g

The best pizza in the NW!!!!!!! I know pizza and toppings...I make my own. The twin brothers are wonderful. The sausage is from Chicago apparently....I have treid others...you cannot beat this place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Heather B.

Flying Pie is pretty good pizza. The ingredients taste fresh and the crust is really good! Only bad thing is that it can be kind of greasy, but I think you get grease with any pizza. The price is pretty high, the biggest pizza being about $36 or so, but you do get a lot for your money in that one pizza.

I've been coming to Flying Pie in Issaquah for as long as I can remember and have brought many friends and family members here in that time. Everyone loves it. Great pizza consistently, the best I have had, hands-down. Atmosphere is fun, quaint, very appropriate for old-town Issaquah. Maybe it takes a little longer for the pizza to be ready, but that's because they take their time to do it right. If you want fancy that's up in the Highlands (no thank you!), if you want fast order Dominoes. If you want an authentic, casual and approachable pizza experience that's full of good ingredients, come here. Carla and Christine are amazing employees who are polite, hard working and demonstrate appreciation for their patrons, even though they are not the business owners. I applaud them! Only negative would be the raucous children with inattentive parents that frequent on weekend evenings, but that's certainly not the restaurant's fault. Come early or come late to avoid this.

Great pizza, reminds me of my favorite place back home in California Shakeys. The wings had a really good flavor, although they were baked and not fried, but still good. Great service, or pizza fell off the table and they replaced it, very cool. Also they had a nice selection or video games for the kids, including two tables with video Donkey Kong and Frogger, pretty cool old school style. Great place, will be back.

On my occasional visits to Issaquah, I usually stop by this place for lunch. It's called "Flying Pie" because you can see the "doughboys(?)" tossing the soon-to-be crusts up in the air, over and over, true Italian pizzeria-style, and let me tell you, the crust is very good. So is the sauce..and the toppings, which are generously applied-no piece-counting here! This isn't Domino's, it aint Pizza Hut, and sorry Papa John's, this is PIZZA "a cut above". My only complaint, and its a mild one, is the overall arrangement of the inside seating is a bit awkward, and the atmosphere can be a little noisy at least to me, so unless it's raining or cold I usually dine outside.

My husband and I met some friends in Issaquah on a Monday night for dinner at Flying Pie Pizzeria, which my friend claims has the best Ranch dressing in the world. (Ranch dressing is my absolute favorite food group, and I'll eat it on pretty much anything). So naturally my friend had been wanting to take me to Flying Pie for months so I could experience their Ranch. Needless to say I was pretty excited. Flying Pie is right off Front Street in historic downtown Issaquah. Their pizza dough is homemade and hand-rolled daily, and fresh vegetables are cut and prepared every day. They also use only 100% whole milk mozzarella, provolone and romano cheeses, and meats are of the highest quality available. Yummy. Also, we were glad to be there on a Monday when pints are $2 all day! The atmosphere is super casual with vintage video games inside and cute tables with umbrellas out front. I also really liked that they offer whole wheat and gluten free pizza crust (although we didn't sample any). My friend and and I shared the all you can eat salad bar which included bread sticks for $7.50 and then we got two pizzas for the four of us to share. It was a little bit too much food, but the pizza was amazing and the Ranch was right up there with my favorites! We finished off almost an entire salad bowl of it and I probably gained a couple pounds.

I've eaten at the one down in Portland and thought it was great. This one is no different. It is a real pizzaria. You know, the kind that throws the dough in the air and its workers yell in the kitchen. If this place was a franchise, I'd probably buy right in! One note I'd like to make though is about their pizza delivery. I've ordered it and it was just as fast as anywhere else. It seems that some people would like to pin down the pizza restaurant as a whole by giving it 1 star for an incompetent employee. Well guess what folks? Pizza delivery drivers are a dime a dozen and a high turnaround type of job. It is more likely than not that the slow driver in question has been canned.

I have been eating at Flying Pie since 1992 (Gresham OR location). Good - The pizza is awesome. Great toppings, tasty sauce. Garlic crust is awesome. Watching them toss the dough is kinda cool for the kids. Bad - The inside is often dirty. There are usually flies buzzing around the salad bar - probably because of its location near the back of the place - with the back door very close to the dumpsters. Pizza takes a long time to cook. But it is worth it. Bus your own tables. Here is a tip for those that don't want to wait. Call in the order ahead of time and arrive when the pizza is about 10 minutes from completion (give yourself about 30 minutes). Get the breadsticks. Their ranch dressing seems to be made inhouse, and is a good dip for the sticks and the 'zza.

Well, when I moved to the PNW I asked around for the best pizza joint and Flying Pie came up a couple of time so I decided to give it a whirl. The two things I dont like about it - first, they are just a little light on the cheese....needs a bit more. Second, they are very expensive - if you are ever in El Toro, CA, try Big O Pizza To Go - its a better pizza and half the price of FP. What I love, heavy on the toppings- its a heavy pizza and the crust is very, very good. The best pizza I have found in all of Seatte area....but still searching!

A good buddy of mine lives really close to this place and he always raves about it. He finally got me to go in on a pizza with him. FIrst off, $30+ for a large pizza? Whoa, Nelly. We ordered 4 toppings on a thick whole wheat crust. What we ended up getting was the 4 toppings on a thin white crust that was totally soggy and gross. Imagine microwaving a slightly dampened dinner roll for too long. The cheese was okay, and the toppings were delicious - which helped. I ate one full slice and then I just pulled the toppings off a 2nd slice. The rest of the pizza I left with my friend, who continued eating with gusto. Too expensive and disappointing. On the upside, service was cheerful even though their computers broke down and they were having to calculate the ol' fashioned way. Hehe. I guess this place is awesome to some, but icky to others (or just me). :(

After a rainy hike, 10 Yelpers made their way to Isssaquah for carb re-loading. What they found was not only a belly filler meal, but a pleasantly unexpected experience at Flying Pie. It's very easy for large groups to eat here, because you can order HUGE and DELICIOUS slices of pizza!! Oh, but one piece doesn't sound like enough to fill yer belly up? How about a large slice, plus a soft garlicy breadstick, a salad buffet, and a soft drink for $7!? Yes I said it, $7 for that meal. Plus, they have a "to go" counter. Damn I wish we had this place in West Seattle. Oh yes, and the pizza... I die. It was exactly what I wanted. Thick, soft crust without being Gross 'n Greasy (my phrase for Pizza Hut's lame excuse for thick crust...) with scrumptious toppings and cheese that stretches when you eat it, because it's fresh. The breadsticks were soft and thick with appropriate seasonings. Plus the guy with long hair working behind the counter couldn't have been nicer. He might as well said "Come on back y'all, now ya' hear"; I wouldn't have blinked an eye. OOH AND WHEN ANY DOOR OPENS A BUNCH OF WEIRD STUFF ON PULLEYS DIP DOWN AND IT'S FUN TO WATCH. Again, damn I wish we had this in West Seattle.

  • Rich W.

Being from the East Coast, I can say that I have not had GOOD pizza in the seven different places we've had pizza from, including all but one of the restaurants mentioned in reviews. We phone ordered a pizza from Flying Pie, and, even though the pizza was ready, had to wait 15 minutes in line just to pay for it. So, we took home a cold, overpriced pizza that had nearly raw tomatoes and flavorless sauce on it. I think we're back to Frankie's, the most acceptable of the pizza we've had in Issaquah. Zeeks isn't bad, but they're inconsistant.

  • Daren D.

Dang, this place is full of funky and cool gadgets, retro games, and neat-o doodads and chill decor. (love the cactus cable door pulley, dude!) As part of the awesome group sara mentioned, we all spontaneously showed up here for post-hike re-fueling. I got the large bowl salad bar with 2 breadsticks. The salad bar pretty much sucked (same timeless average salad bar dressings full of fat, except for maybe italian, which I got). Well, compared to others I prefer.... ehh, yeah, it's decent I guess since it is a pizza place, after all. The breadsticks were ok, just unfair and full of insufficiently flavored doughy goop. It was alright.

I was out in the Seattle area for travel and my brother suggested i try this place, and boy was i glad i did. One of the best Pizza's i have ever had. I had the Stromboli and it was absolutely delicious! I cannot wait to head back up there for work and have another pie!

I can't say enough about Flying Pie. It's legendary, in my mind. There are idiosyncrasies which can be frustrating (as you'll note by reading other reviews) for first time Flying Pie seekers, such as longer wait times for pizzas, but the pizza is beyond fabulous. If you're a sausage fan, you MUST order a pizza with it on it, hands down! It is a specialty blend, made just for Flying Pie, and it's the best I've ever had. Spicy, though, so your kids might or might not like it. Great daily specials ($2 Micro Monday, $5 2nd small cheese or pepperoni pizza on Tuesday, etc.) and great beer on tap. It's a must go experience, but plan ahead to spend an easy hour and a half there.

I've tried half dozen kinds of pizza/calzones from here hoping to find something that I can have when that pizza craving hits, but it's been nothing but a string of dismal experiences. I'm from east coast so maybe that's what the problem is. The tomato sauce is salty and has a slightly bitter taste to me, hardly any cheese on the pizza and the meat toppings are of pretty poor quality. The sausages on the pizza were in huge chunks - like a chicken nugget size and tasted so bad. Gluten-free dough margarita was so disgusting that only the initial bite was all my family could eat of the whole pie. I was really hoping that their "favorite" would be of edible quality, but no such luck. Calzone wasn't too bad, except that the ingredients were shoved in there in globs and not mixed, so you'd have a mouthful of each ingredient. As a last ditch effort, I tried plane pepperoni pizza with extra cheese, that barely passed edible mark (maybe when i'm starving). So far, costco's frozen pizza tastes better than the pricey pizzas from here. Guess I have to go to Frankie's in Redmond or Pizza Box in Kirkland for a decent pizza.

I must be crazy. This pizza is freakin' great. Yeah, it's expensive, but last time I checked, if Pizza Hut is charging 14 bucks for a large, what do people expect to pay for a pizza that doesn't taste like it was deep fried? The crust is phenomenal and I have to admit, having the choice of FIVE unique crusts is a really big bonus to me. In fact, a place that recognizes the difference between chicage style deep dish and a thick hand tossed crust is really hard to come by in the age of fast food pizza. As for some people claiming that there is too much crust... I guess my only suggestion is to ... I dunno ... Eat a salad? Their toppings are great. Every topping you've ever heard of being on a pizza, they've got, and none of them taste like they came out of a can, even if they did (which they probably did). Again, the person complaining that there was too much cheese... ask for less? I guess I grew up in the midwest where a real deep dish pizza comes with enough cheese to literally choke you, and you get used to chewing until your jaw aches ever-so-slightly. I can't say I have ever really experienced a pizza with "too much" of anything, unless it was grease... and people, that's why God invented Brawny. Price is absurd, but that's why you do what we do and convince your bosses to order it for special occasions at work. We got five large pizzas and fropps about 140 bucks which for a night in with friends is totally unacceptable, but when the right person is footin' the bill, you take full advantage. It is a good pizza, any way you ... slice it?

If you like your pizza with piles of meat, cheese, veggies toppings and sauce heaped on top, and your heart; cholesterol, and weight are under control; eat here. Issaquah is out of the way for me but it's sometimes worth the trip. Or it's a great meal after a day skiing at the pass. And yes, they do throw the pies. On the down side the decor is greasy spoon dank and the service is nil. But if you like something like your favorite dive bar and your too cheap to tip, this is your place. PS; They have one in Portland Oregon

Great pizza with thick crust and loaded with toppings, so be prepared for a hearty slice. Great garlicy breadsticks too! Nice, casual atmosphere. Good for a quick slice for lunch, but pretty heavy.

  • S C.

Came in for pizza by the slice at 1PM. The pizza was old and hard and the breadstick was not edible. It was very disappointing based on many good reviews of this place. I am not sure if I'll give this place another chance based on the fact that they would knowingly serve very old pizza. (At $4.25 a slice)

The best pizza in Issaquah, hands down. Fresh, homemade crust, delicious and plentiful fresh toppings, and huge pizzas? Yes please. I used to go here for their lunch special -- pizza by the slice and salad buffet for under $5. Be sure to get a punch card to get your 10th slice free! If you order a pizza here, be prepared to wait. Pizzas can take 45 minutes to an hour. It's best to call ahead, regardless if it's to eat there or to go. It's also a bit pricier than Domino's, but definitely worth it.

Went there for dinner on a Sunday night. Only one other person was there when we arrived, but it still took them an hour to make our basic pizza. They made us the wrong one, we gave it back and left hungry. The place was dirty, fruit flies were buzzing around everywhere (especially the "salad bar"). We got a refund and won't ever go back.

The "Pizza" is the Only reason I keep coming back/having delivered. Pros: Great pizza with tons of fresh toppings and never a bad pie! 4 stars Cons: -Worst customer service 75% of the time -usually will screw up your delivery -the restaurant it self is an Unfriendly (dirty)dive! - $$$!!! -2 stars

The pizza was decent, but it is SO ANNOYING to have them state they are chicago style, and get there and find just super thick pizza. Then they argued with me about whether its Chicago style or not. Anyone who has been to the famous places in Chicago can see in one glance they are NOT the same. If they just stated it accurately I would give them 4 stars. I guess there are plenty of people that havent been to chicago that just go along with it happily...

There is Pizza and there is Flying Pie. This unique experience is worth the drive and the wait. I loved it from the 1st slice. I was convinced it was amazing when a friend of mine who is Italian and I mean from Italy said it was the only pizza he has had in the states that was worth his dime. It's not cheap. You won't get two pies for $10 or free breadstix or soda, but you won't leave hungry or dissatisfied.

I couldn't not find this place. It's tucked away in the corner besides some martial arts place and is a very small storefront. I drove past it twice. It's tiny inside and was filled with families, small children everywhere, and included some video games in the corner. Pizza took a long time coming but was huge and too big for the two of us. Lots of toppings and we were only able to wade through about half of it. Pretty good and people cycled in and out as we were munching through our tire sized pizza. There was a little girl at the next table that kept staring at us. I guess she aint' never seen a couple of piggies shoveling all sorts of things in their face before. We thought about putting her in our pocket and taking her home with us, but she wouldn't fit.

Gets my vote for the best pizza in Issaquah. A little on the pricy side but not out of line for handmade non-fast-food pizza. (Sure, Dominos is 2 for $10 but that only gets you two toppings and I don't care what they say about their re-designed pizza, it's still crap.) Flying Pie is a real pizza place where you'll have to wait for them to bake it and they have video games and pinball. It's what Pizza was before I was a teenager and industrial delivery pizza took over. (Hey...KID!!! Get off my lawn!!!) But there are dangers. Pizza is not meant to be on Foccacia, but you can get that here. It's not good. The deep dish crust ins't that great either. But the ultra thin or regular thin is marvelous. And the crust tastes like something. I usually go with the regualar and it's crispy and chewy with a salty/olive oil/yeast blend of flavors. The sauce is good and they've got plenty of topping options. I really love it. So why not five stars? No slices after lunch. I get the economics of this but I'm not the only parent out there whose kids eat dinner WAY earlier than I want to eat. I can take them here and eat cold/re-heated later. They can't eat a pie by themselves. So I rarely go here for dinner. But I split a a salami/peperoncini/green olive today while watching football. It was better than whatever we had before sliced bread.

Quick summary - good pizza, FANTASTIC calzones, very pricey at $50 for pizza and beer for 4. We've gone to Flying Pie in Issaquah several times and the food is a hit each time. Funny to see so many posts and not one mention of the calzones, which are bigger than my head and filled with cheese, pepperoni, sausage, etc. At $15, it's a much better deal than the $33.50 large pizza I get (xtra cheese, pepperoni and sausage). Great stuff, but $33.50? Really? I waffled on the rating because it's overpriced, imho. On the bright side, they've got Mak and Jack's and Mirror Pond on tap, so when you hit the $50 mark for beer and pizza for a family of 4, you're not quite as pissed off, Decor strikes me as a cross between a bad flea market and a run-down barn the American Pickers guys would rummage through. Kind of like an Applebees with 10% of the budget and 1980's beer signs/inflatables. Couple of video games and a pinball keep the kids busy for the 20+ minutes it takes for the food to cook. Quick tip - if you're having lunch at MSFT in the Commons, hit up the Flying Pie there and call in a calzone order in advance. ~$5 for a lunch-sized calzone is probably the best deal in the Commons.

This was my first time here, I had been wanting to try them since I heard about them from a post on my gym's blog. We went on a Tuesday night which was $5 calzone night, BONUS! My girlfriend got a calzone called the Bomb, it was good and HUGE. (I ate the leftovers a couple of days later for lunch). I ordered a small pine and swine on their thicker 'Chicago' crust. Now, this isn't deep dish Chicago style so I was a bit disappointed but it was a quality hand tossed crust. Our daughter gave the salad bar a thumbs up and her boyfriend enjoyed his calzone. Pretty sure we will be back. It is nice to have other options in the area besides the national chains.

This is the pizza I've been looking for in the over rated slump of so called good pizza in the Seattle area. Enjoyable atmosphere and really good food. Some fine beers too. Oh, don't go here if you're not laid back, your quality pizza will take some time.

Been coming here since it opened about 15 years ago. The management and the menu have changed a few times since then, but the general atmosphere is the same. The pizza - It's pretty damn good, but it's not for everybody. If you like super-thin crust, New York style pizza without a lot of cheese/toppings, that's not what you'll get here. Unless you specify otherwise, they put on a ton of cheese and a ton of toppings. That can be great, but it's also a little intense. All the ingredients are fresh, and they've got a big selection of toppings. They have the standard toppings, like pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, olives, etc., but they also have really weird toppings like shrimp or zucchini. I usually go for pepperoni, since I'm not adventurous. Also, they use a lot of spice on their pepperoni and sausage. Some might say too much, but that depends on your tastes. The crust is decent, nothing to write home about. It's a slightly thicker crust that supports all the toppings/cheese they pile on. The price - It's a little pricey, but considering that you get a much bigger slice/pizza with a lot more cheese & toppings than you would elsewhere, I think it's a fair value. You just need to understand that you'll be paying for a very large portion. The service - They've always been super friendly to me, never had any problems. The wait time for a whole pizza would be my only criticism; during rush hour, it can take about half an hour for your pizza to cook. Again, this is because they put a LOT of stuff on their pizzas, so the cooking time is higher. Atmosphere - Somewhere between an arcade and a sports bar. They've usually got a sports game on the TV, and there are a few different old school arcade machines if you've got kids or you're feeling nostalgic.

Good pizza but the prices are way too high. I like the crust, it is a nice change from the sweeter crusts of the chain pizza joints. On the other hand, my wife and kids don't like the pizza, they think it is too garlicky. Wait time for dining is is a bit long and the tables are packed into the little space they have. There are a few arcade games and TVs for entertainment while you wait for your order.

The pizza (when hot... we'll get to that in a sec,) absolutely deserves 4 stars. As does the atmosphere of the place when you eat there. The delivery? Not so much. Here goes... A couple days ago my dad, brother and I ordered two pizzas at 6:20. They told us it would be an hour. We are VERY loyal customers so naturally we ordered from Flying Pie. We weren't that hungry when we ordered but because we've ordered from them so many times, we know it can take a while. By the time 7:55 rolled around (that's over half an hour late, pretty reasonable,) we decided to give them a call and see what the hold-up was. The worthless stoner on the phone told my brother the pies were on their way and should've been there by now and said he would call the driver. We didn't hear back from him and waited. Then at 8:30 (now an hour and ten minutes late for those of you keeping track at home) I called again and got the same lackadaisical douche bag, who tells me the same exact thing- that it should have been there and he'll call the driver. You would think this is the part where they apologize profusely and offer to give us the pizzas for free- at least one of them half off right?.... Nope, NOTHING!!! Not even a simple apology. Even the giant impersonal chains would have tried to rectify this in some way by now... but not good ol' Flying Pie. They decided to give it a cool 20 minutes and drop off two barely lukewarm pizzas at 8:50. Two and a half hours after we ordered them, an hour and a half after they said they would be there. Did the driver apologize? Nope, he didn't even mention it. We even tipped him 20%, but it was more one of those pitying-you're-never-gonna-go-anywhere-kid type of tip. So let's go back for a sec... at 7:55 our pizzas were allegedly en route. We live ten minutes away. How many possible houses could the driver have had to hit on the way??? Was his trunk completely full? If this is the case then disregard everything I've written and change my rating to 4 stars, but I don't think it was. I think that little sh*thead lied to my brother because he didn't want to admit that they either screwed up or were incredibly swamped. So he lied in one phone call and had no respect/courtesy for the customer in either... nice work!! So screw this place, screw their pizza (which isn't any better than Amante right down the street, where we will be taking our business from now on- I suggest you do the same!), and most importantly screw their worthless, uninterested, terrible employees. Your lack of respect and overall terrible attitude will lead to a terrible existence for the rest of your shi**y life, which brings me more joy than a warm, delicious, on-time pizza ever would have. I hope this helps. I would never go out of my way to write a review this long just to exaggerate the details, everything I've written is true... which is why I'm pissed off enough to write about it. GFYS Flying Pie, you're time is up. It's all about Amante now folks!!

I live within walking distance of about 3 or 4 pizza places on front street. We stopped by Flying Pie about 20 minutes before they closed. I always feel really bad when I set foot in a restaurant right before closing and try to be really quick when it happens. The staff at Flying Pie was polite, welcoming, and helped us out with our order. ..these pizzas really ARE pies. We got a combo pizza, and it was piled HIGH with toppings! Definitely wasn't disappointed, and I'd go to this pizza joint over Extreme Pizza anyday.

I was on my way back form Maple Valley, picking up Wheat/Gluten Free pizza crusts and desserts around 2pm and was HUNGRY. The original intent was to try Extreme Pizza, but I had to stop for a light in Issaquah, looked to my right and was the "Flying Pie" sign. I immediately took a right, stopped in their parking lot and got on mobile yelp. A real mixed bag of reviews, but it sounded promising. I went in for a slice. The daytime manager was handling the counter - and she was helpful with all my questions. All they had was pepperoni, no cheese in the warmer. I mentioned i heard (read on yelp) that the sausage was awesome and found that you could easily add toppings to the pepperoni . . . so I asked for sausage. I was set back a bit when she put on gloves and grabbed some raw bulk sausage . . . but she broke it up, put it in a pan and cooked it before she even got to my slice. After reading about wait times and looking at their sign that said their good pizza was worth waiting a long time for it all made sense. When the sausage was done, she put it on the pepperoni, added a handful of mozzarella and spice sprinkles (secret ingredient that only a few of us quality pizza places use :D ). It went back in the oven . . . . that made it about a 10 minute wait for a slice. I tried to pick up the pizza - no luck - the comments on the crust getting soggy were right - I had to resort to a fork for the first half of the slice. The sausage was a first bite . . . and it was great!! The manager had mentioned that the Italian Sausage was made by the owner - you won't find it anywhere else. The prices did seem high at first glance, and they are a tiny bit higher than I would charge, The slice was huge, and had all the things I look for . . . . excellent and just right amount of sauce, plenty of high quality pepperoni and sausage, right amount of cheese . . . I try not to give 5 stars to pizza places, but this has all the things going for it that my favorite place does and I gave it 5 stars. The pizza is a bit on the spendy side - but not horrible based on what you get. When in Issaquah and looking for pizza, this is the place.

Flying pie used to be our absolute favorite pizza, but I feel they have gone down hill lately. The last few times the crust (especially around the edges) is 2" thick and bready unlike the way it used to be crisp and perfectly proportioned. Beware: If you order something with "chicken" they now use some God awful processed product that looks and tastes like a salty grey sponge. YUK!! Still decent pizza, although totally overpriced and inclined to be greasy.

The pizza here is good, better than just about anything else in Issaquah, but it has gone downhill. The really annoying thing is that though they claim that they deliver, they never actually deliver! I've called them 3 times in the last year for delivery and they will not deliver. They say that they only deliver "sometimes" and won't tell you what "sometimes" means.

Flying Pie is a fun pizza joint tucked away in "old town" Issaquah, full of retro decor and HUGE pizza slices. Each slice is more like two portions in one, making it well worth the $7 price. The crust is thick and chewy, which is how I personally prefer my pizzas, and the overall pizza lacks the pools of grease typical of your average pizzas. It wasn't the best slice of pie I've ever had, but it's definitely slightly above average. Not a bad place to stop if you're in Issaquah craving some pizza. This joint seems particularly family and big-group friendly, and the service is speedy if you order by the slice (sub sandwiches were rumored to take up to 20 minutes to prepare).

We came here with a group on Sunday, after having a skating party at Castle Ice(awesome place as well!) next door. The people here are wonderful! They dealt with our large group as best they could and we were very pleased. The pizza is very good, as I hadn't read any reviews and didn't know what to expect. The combo was a bit spicey for a couple people in our group but I thought it was fabulous! The kids were literally running all over the place(probably bothering other patrons a wee bit) but it was just that kind of place. We felt comfortable and the kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The ice cream was a nice added bonus, totally unexpected but again, perfect for the kids in our group. If you're going to Castle Ice, definitely stop in and check out Flying Pie, you won't be disappointed! Pizza - Great! Beer - Great! Ice Cream - Great! Ambiance - Great!

Thanks Yelpsters for helping me discover an awesome neighborhood pizza joint close by! I just walked in here on a Friday evening, and I wasn't disappointed. Tons of choices for pizzas, calzones, and sandwiches. I ordered my standard whenever I try out a new place - pepperoni, green peppers, mushrooms, and onions on thin crust. To my happy surprise, they had 4 different crust thicknesses and offered whole wheat crusts too! Win and win! The pizza was delicious (wheat crust is tasty), loaded with the toppings, all of which tasted very fresh. Not a lot of sauce though, but that's usually the case with thinner crusts, so I'm totally OK with that. Cute sports-themed family-friendly place, super nice staff (even the delivery guy said hi to me on my way out), local ingredients, and fresh made ice cream from a creamery a few miles away! (The dulce de leche ice cream was very tasty.) I will definitely be back here again soon! Here's to hoping they'll deliver to my place - I'm just at the edge of their delivery radius.

I ordered a chicken breast pizza. What a got was a pizza with chicken, onions, and feta cheese.........wtf? The thing was $30 too! Pizza was decent at best, could have gotten 3 better pizzas from papa murphy's for the same price.

Summary: fast service, inexpensive beer, terrible crust, poor toppings and the high price of pizza earn this a WILL NOT EAT HERE AGAIN rating. One star is a seriously bad rating and I don't like to hand these out indiscriminantly, but this place deserves the lowest rating for the low quality of food. Dad and I dropped in for dinner and tried it due to their great location. At first we were set back by the prices ($33.00 for a XL pizza, $6.00 per slice, etc) but we rationalized it because sometimes price does equate to quality. Not so in this case. We arrived ar 6:45PM and approached the counter to order. The food server took our order and my father wanted a quick slice of pepperoni to tide us over before the meal. We were told that they didn't have any, and wouldn't have. Dad protested as he really wanted Pepperoni and I shrugged, not much one can do, right? We ordered 2 veggie and a chicken slice with two beers. Total price was just under $26 before tip, beer was only $2.50 per Corona. The kind server asked if I wanted tomatoes and I thought that was great follow through to offer it. She took our name to call us. Instead of calling us they brought the meal to our table. Nice touch! I was fairly stoked at the size, until we started to eat. The crust was crispy on the bottom but doughy in the center WITH NO FLAVOR. (NOTE: WHY OH WHY DIDN'T I READ YELP FIRST? Susan H fully detailed these problems over a month ago,,,darn) Don't these guys use yeast in their crust? yet I could not detect any flavor. In fact the downfall of the crust is that it was bland and completely lacking in taste and texture. To its credit, there was lots of cheese on the Veggie pizza but all I could see were olives topped with those fresh tomatoes on top. No onions, no mushrooms, no bell peppers, no artichoke hearts on this Veggie pizza. Plain and simple - nothing special. Dad complained about his garlic chicken pizza and the rubbery meat (Darn, if I had read the YELP reviews beforehand I would have been warned). As we got ready to leave we overheard the family next to us say they had spent $72 on two pizzas - Yikes! And the kicker insult? As we departed we bussed our own tables and here was the food sevrer seating eating his meal - A SLICE OF PEPPERONI PIZZA just as was denied when my father tried to order it.

I think the pizza here is really good and the ingredients are really high quality. You have a whole spectrum of crusts from really thick to super thin (like a banned Italian model). The crusts are all hand thrown which makes it fun for smaller kids to watch too. Like the other reviewer wrote, it is a little loud, but I discovered this place when having our end of the season party for my youth soccer team. And we've been back several times. On top of really good pizza (the sausage is really good), they have temporary tattoos to take home with you! I called one Friday night and they told me that it was an hour wait for take out. We were hungry, so we didn't wait. To sum it all up, this pizza is so good and stuffed with great ingredients, that I can't eat more than 3 slices of pizza here without feeling ill. Thats how good it is.

I want to start this review by stating that I LOVE Flying Pie Pizzeria pizza...that is, the one in Portland. We came here the other night for dinner for my birthday, and to start it out, the chick...Emily...helping us had the personality of a wet mop. She glared at us while we were trying to decide what we wanted (we were apparently taking too long...and woah was there a line behind us...no one in sight) and when my Dad accidentaly asked for Bud LIght instead of Coors light (he saw what was on tap, but couldn't get it out) and joked about how his mind couldn't get it straight, she just looked at us with a very blank and somewhat annoyed look and said "we don't have bud light. what do you want?" HOW RUDE! Sheesh, loosen up a bit. I realize people have bad days, but come on, your job is customer service and to be pleasant. No one seemed to care about their job. There was no "flying Pie" and we weren't offered fresh garlic that ALL the other Flying Pie places offer. Needless to say we were unimpressed, and had high hopes because we like the one in Portland so much. The pizza was decent, Portland's pizza is way better. One last note, the place was decorated like a Mexican restaraunt...not sure if they realize that pizza is Italian or not...there were pinatas, corona signs everywhere, a map of Mexico...hmmm...... Needless to say, I will never ever go back to this Flying Pie ever, if I want great pizza, a fun atmosphere and great service, I'll drive the 3+ hours it takes to get to Portland.

This is our families favorite pizza place, bar none.... Yes, a little spendy at times, but you get what you pay for EVERY time. Not sure how anyone could compare what you get hear to Papa Murphy's, unless you have no taste buds! We've never gone away unsatisfied. Excellent customer service as well, I accidentally dropped a couple of slices on the floor as we were leaving (slid off the take home tray), they came out and told us they would make us another mini pizza to replace it. Where else have you ever seen that happen? No need to look anywhere else for the best pizza around....

Just a slice is all you need! Really. A single slice (by the slice is offered during lunch hours, roughly 11-3 during the week) is like a quarter of a pizza. They are so enormous! Two of us chose three pieces (not seeing the sizes before hand) and it was way too much! They offer a nice variety of ingredients, styles of crusts, and for a heavily loaded down pizza, it didn't have grease soak through the crust to the plate - amazing! They also have soy cheese, so happily a lactose intolerant familymember can enjoy pizza with us next time we go there. I'm not going to start saying this is the best in the whole USA, or better than Chicago, NY, etc. But for pizza offered up locally, this is some good stuff!

Went there with my family for dinner on a weekend. Didn't know this place did not have a waitstaff. We stood around for a while looking for a table to sit at. There were 3 tables covered in pizza pans and dirty plates, but no one was bussing the tables. We ended up wiping a table ourselves that had soda and ice spilled over the top. The pizza we ordered was supposed to be Chicago style. The crust was no different than any thick crust pizza you could order from any other place. Big dissapointment for us. We will not be back.

I worked at flying pie every summer between college semesters, so I have bias, but I also know the ins and outs of Flying Pie Pizzeria much more intimately than the average reviewer. First of all, pizza is my favorite food and I'm a big pizza enthusiast. The worst kind of pizza to me is that of places like domino's: low quality, waxy tasting cheese and dough made with sugar (most major pizza chains use sugar in their dough). Flying Pie is family owned and operated with the classic feel of a small family pizzeria. They have several different old arcade games and pinball machines to keep the kids busy (or they can color with provided crayons and color sheets that they can post on the wall). You can order pizza, calozones, breadsticks, sub sandwiches, or salads. Pizza sizes are 12, 14, 16 and 18 inches. Yes, the pizza is expensive but there are many reasons for this. The dough is custom made for Flying Pie. I saw below reviewers complaining the crust had no flavor. This perplexes me because it is a garlic based dough and the same dough is rolled to make the garlic breadsticks which are extremely popular. The only way someone would say the crust has no flavor is if their taste buds lack the capability of tasting garlic. By far the best meat at Flying Pie, and what I would recommend everyone to put on their pizza regardless of other topics they choose, is the italian sausage. A sausage company specially makes the sausage for flying pie based on a specific and secret recipe Flying Pie provides. They have some of the tastiest sausage you'll find at a pizza place with the perfect spiciness. Another meat topping people typically don't try because they don't know about it is linguica, a mild Portuguese sausage. Other toppings include pepperoni, ham, canadian bacon, salami, ground beef, olives, mushrooms green peppers, red peppers, artichoke hearts, peppercinis, jalapenos, anchovies, pineapple and more. The mozzarella cheese is high quality and flavorful in direct contrast to that of chains like Domino's and Papa John's. The marinara sauce is also very popular on the pizza as well as for dipping breadsticks. It's zesty and thick (but not too much so). If you're adventurous you can try the pesto, or white sauce pizzas. Flying Pie also makes stuffed pies which are extremely thick, rich and require a fork and knife to eat (similar to Chicago deep dish). You can order the pizza crust as extra thin, thin, thick or extra thick, so the people who complain about the pizza being too thin or thick lacked the foresight to specify. A lot of care is taken in preparing the always fresh cheese and dough. I know because it was often my task to make the dough. In my opinion you won't find better pizza in the Seattle area. In fact, in my book the pizza at Flying Pie is second only to a handful of pizza places in and around Chicago, IL. Yes, it's expensive and the wait can be 20 to 30 minutes before receiving your pizza, but quality pizza requires time and money. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Want a pizza well-done to ensure it's not too doughy in the crust? Just specify. Call in for take out or delivery. I'll leave with stating that oftentimes when you work at a restaurant that's the last food you want to eat. Despite working at Flying Pie, I still got pizza from them every week. Best pizza in the area.

Great pizza! Go for combo 1 or combo 2, those are just filled with their best stuff. Their sausages are amazing, their peperoni is filled with flavor, and their pizza is just loaded with x3-4 times the toppings other places will give. That said, this place is pricy (but certainly worth it if you want some quality pizza). Also, we waited like 45 minutes for our two pizza's, so it certainly is slow, as other reviewers mentioned.

I had this pizza for the second time this weekend. I honestly don't know how anyone could rate this less than 5 stars. Maybe they are getting the old pizza out of the warmer and basing it off of that, but anyone who's had a fresh pie here should realize how good it is. I am the kind of person that hates overpaying for food, and this is one of the most expensive pizzas around. The thing is, it's totally worth it. They absolutely load up the toppings and you can get any size you like ranging from 12" to 18". You also get to choose from 4 different crust thicknesses. I've had the thickest one (I think they call it Sicilian) and the 2nd thickest (they call it Chicago, but it's what I would call a medium thickness crust - not deep dish). Both were amazing. As many reviewers before me have said, don't miss the Italian sausage. It's the best around. The only thing I don't like about this place is that it's so far away. I guess it's a good thing or I'd be spending $40 on pizza every night...

I would somewhat recommend this place if you have kids. It's kinda noisy and kid-friendly. The parking is decent. They have a lot of old-school coin-op video games, which is fun. If you don't have kids I'd probably head elsewhere. Not sure where else in Issaquah, though the Pizza Place in North Bend is outstanding and worth the drive. Ah NB PP's Chicago Stuffed Pie... but I digress. The pizza is very average here. They are reasonably generous with all the toppings, but the crust is mediocre (the outside too crunchy and underneath too doughy and flat) and it brings down the whole pizza. The salad bar is also average at best. We had the pleasure of cleaning our own table before we ate, too. We came in for dinner and it took us 5 minutes to figure out it wasn't table service. So we got up to order, which was fine, but after another 5 minute wait in line, we were told our pizza would take 40 minutes to prepare. Not sure if it was an anomaly, but it didn't seem like it was, so be prepared to wait on the weekend if you come here. They don't have Dr. Pepper or equivalent. Tsk tsk.

I first tried this amazing vegi pizza at Renton River Days this past summer. It was a huge slice and so good. I even went back the next day for another slice. it was extremely hot both days and the staff was working in front of hot ovens, yet everyone seemed to be in good spirits and having fun with their customers and each other. Great vibe, perfect crust, and tasty!

If you want a family restaurant this place is great! There is a little table with blocks and books for little ones, pinball machines for bigger kids, great pizza and beer! We come here for dinner all the time and even have our baseball team come at the end of the season! Great for big or small parties. The guys that work there are very friendly, it has a great home feeling! They make you feel very welcome!

hands down THE best pizza i have ever eaten in my life. the 18" is about $38 dollars but it comes with the biggest heap of toppings i have ever seen, and it fed my family of four with four or five slices still left. when you think of that, and compare it to a typical restaurant bill for a family of four (let's say $50), the price isn't so absurd. the toppings were the most fresh i've ever encountered at a restaurant period, let alone a little pizza joint. some of the best crust i've ever had (second only to jet city pizza co.) and my socks were definitely knocked off.

Def old school pizzeria feel to it. The pizza was pretty good, all of the things I like about a pizza they got right. I just had a slice of cheese tho so its hard to judge completely. You can always tell when school is out in small towns. There was a ton of little skater brats hanging out here throwing their crusts at each other. I got a slice, drink, breadstick and salad bar all for $8 so I cant complain about the price. But my buddy got two slices and a drink for $12. Seemed like their beers are average pricing. I'd go back to them before I hit up Extreme Pizza, that place sucked a lot. All in all, minus it being a singles mixer for teens, it was pretty alright.

Come here for lunch, their pizza by the slice is fan-fricking-tastic! Huge slices of cheesy, meaty, greasy goodness.

for the superbowl, i went to my friend's house. we decided to order some pizza from flying pie. i forgot where i heard of this place before and then i remembered; on a trip to portland i read about their portland location on yelp. i remembered that it got pretty good ratings so i was expecting something good. while waiting for the pizza, my friend and i watched the pizza maker toss and twirl the dough, so quick and so effortless. while waiting for our pizza, i took notice of the ambiance and environment. it's surprising to see that this place had some ambiance, being that it was situated in a small strip mall. the place was a lot bigger inside. the place was dim lit, bunch of small tables, some tv's and a retro arcade game, your typical traditional pizza place. after waiting for about 20 minutes, our meat combo pizza was boxed and ready to go. i have to tell you, the pizza was heavy and smelled terrific. when we went back to my friend's house, i opened the box up and found a huge pizza loaded with toppings, think a pizza hut pizza, but like 5 times more stuff. being hungry, the pizza was good. i had about 5 slices, what can i say? i love pizza. though the pizza was good, it wasn't the best. there was a lot of meat, but i felt that some of the meat was too salty. if i could give it 3.5 stars i would. the crust was also good, but not great. perhaps all the meat and cheese generated too much grease. so, my first experience with this place was good. maybe next time i'll order a pizza with a little more veggies to offset the saltiness and grease of some of the meat.

Wow. I thought this was supposed to be amazing. Got the order wrong and slapped a five on the table instead of an "I'm sorry". It would be ok if the cheese pizza wasn't so raw...

One of the best pizza places I have ever lived near. Tons of variety - whole wheat crust and soy cheese! How awesome for a healthy eater. Ingredients always fresh and they are very generous with them. I love the veggie pizza and my husband being the meat eater - loves the Stromboli - so we usually can come to a compromise with the choices in between. Ordering from here is even fun. We usually do take out, but dine in looks like it could be a great experience. Great beers on tap

Very loud - lots of kids - good pizza & beer. This is a favorite of ours in the summer when it's warm enough to sit on the patio. Pizza is pricey but delicious and beer is ice cold. If you're looking for a quite, sophisticated restaurant...or even a place that will refill your drink - don't come here. If you are looking for a place to take your friends with their rowdy kids - this is your place. One more thing - the delivery service from here really sucks. It takes over an hour (usually more like an hour and a half), they've delivered the wrong pizza before, and the pizza is always cold by the time it gets here. So, don't have it delivered.

The first time I went with my husband and son was a delight. The atmosphere is casual silly, and there are lots of intriguing details to discover throughout your meal. There is also a pinball machine and three other arcade games to amuse adults and kids. The pizza is inventive and massive. We overordered because we really had no idea the toppings would be inches high on the 'za. Wow! The second time I went was a little less wonderful. The handle on the pinball machine was broken. Hazardous, or at least uncomfortable for players. The Ms. PacMan game was gone, replaced by some unfamiliar game that was broken anyway. I am confident they will fix these problems soon. Based on my second experience, I now recommend that you stick with the menu. It is amazing and they do it to perfection. Don't do what I did and confuse everyone and mess with the good juju by asking them to make Pizza Margherite. No fresh basil. Mozzarella was "fizzy" according to my son, and he was right. Did not take home the leftovers. I fully intend to give this place another try.

So far, probably the best pizza I've tried in the NW. The ingredients are some of the freshest I've tried on a pie. I actually like the doughy pie and the tougher crust, a nice balance when combining the two. They are really generous on their topping as well. I find the best thing to do is order by the slice when there is only 2-3 of you... I can barely finish 1.5 slice... or you could just order 1 slice and some breadsticks. Overall, really great place to eat, maybe I'll find a 5-star pizzeria in the NW... one of these days...

Flying Pie is definitely a family and sports oriented place. Like others have said, it can get kind of rowdy. I love their sausage so much, my first instinct is to refer to this place as my favorite pizza in the Seattle area. Unfortunately, I remembered that their crust is always overwhelmed by weight of their ingredients. I love that they pile so much on, but I would love it more if they would remember that not only does it make the pizza impossible to pick up but some of those ingredients also make the crust inedibly soggy. However, there is a solution. The calzone. They make a dynamite calzone. It's cheap, and it's gigantic. For $7-8, I can get 3 meals out of this thing. They also are a bit lighter handed with the ingredients here, so it keeps crispy upon reheating if you do so in the oven like any other sane person. Oh, and yes, the wait times are ALWAYS nuts. It has never been less than 40 minutes for me. They're not always that busy, so they may just be the slowest pizza makers ever. It should also be mentioned that two members of my family, Chicago natives, adore this place. Whenever they're in Seattle, it is always a stop that must be made.

I would love to have had the opportunity to review the pizza, however after 45min of waiting for our tables order and approaching the counter our ticket had been lost. Our options were a refund OR another est. 30 min wait and a $20 credit for our return visit. This policy is much less appealing than their pizza. Fail.

Pretty good pizza, but the prices are insane. This place is in the boonies and a large pizza is over $30!!!!!!!!!!! They are good, but I need leftovers when I eat pizza and it's just way overpriced. I would like to try the thin crust but the price tag keeps me from returning.

The good news: They have classic arcade games you can play while you wait! Table top Frogger! Table top Donkey Kong! Pinball! Ok, digression done. Bad news: The Pizza is lousy and pricey. We had a half Hawaian half veggie pizza. It was all bland. Even the ham was bland. And, oddly enough, they put fresh cold slices of tomato on the pizza after it was cooked? Weird. It was worth a try but definately NOT worth the money! $30 for a large!

I just walked in Flying Pie Pizzeria just to try the place. I didn't expect much but wow, I was not dissapointed that I went here. The moment I entered the place, the waiter already welcomed me and gave me a seat fast. The waiter was really friendly to me. As I saw the menu, you really have a lot of pizza to choose from. Because I'm craving for some pizza that night, I ordered pizza. It was really delicious. Lots of toppings and it is well cooked. I also love their interior decors. I will definitely come back here with friends. I loved my experience here!

As all have said here, the sausage is fantastic. Spicy and delicious and they ain't stingy with it for sure! Honestly, my favorite pizza is just plain old Pizza Margherita (with a little extra fresh mozzarella and basil)which, oddly enough is hard to find in pizza places and is absent from the menu at Flying Pie as well. The hubby is your typical meat and potatoes guy and the original thick crust with extra cheese, fresh garlic, and sausage is one of the few meals we can agree upon! Again, as all have said here, at times the toppings are so generous, you'll have to eat it with a knife and fork AND the crust does indeed suffer for it. Crust sogginess won't be an issue if you're an obligate carnivore. The problem starts if you enjoy toppings like pineapple or mushrooms, which release tons of juices when cooked. Some may like the option of the calzone (or Zappi, as Flying Pie calls it), but where's the ricotta???? It seems like there aren't ANY pizza places in Washington that put ricotta in their calzone. If it doesn't have ricotta, its just a pizza folded in half! As for the restaurant, I wouldn't eat in there if they gave me a free years supply of sausage. LOUD beyond compare and almost a little too rowdy for kids! All things considered, a great choice if you're looking for a solid pizza with fresh toppings AND you're hungry as hell (you sure won't leave that way!).

The atmosphere is old school pizzeria. A small but effective salad bar, pebble ice for the soft drinks, but best of all table top ms. pac-man and donkey kong! The pizza is great. Garlic infused sauce, nice ingredients (no weird things like kibble/pellet shaped sausage bits). This place will make you long for those summer days hanging with your friends, pockets stuffed with quarters, and bellies filled with pizza and root beer.

they can make great pizza....but they have a tendency to be inconsistent...the pizza is undercooked sometimes, overcooked others. WHen they get the order right, pizza is awesome. Just wish you could know what kind you'll have arrive at your door.

Meh. This place is okay. We had the supreme combo I. They put tons of toppings on it, but I still didn't find it really good. I do think it's cool that they have several crust choices though (thin, original, extra thick, etc).

Flying Pie is the relaxed pizza night place you've always dreamed of, because it's extraordinarily delicious pizza made and served by friendly, informal staff, family oriented with built-in entertainment and fun! They have everything for kids young and young at heart. They not only have all of the attributes that you'd want in your favorite pizza place (including the most undeniably delicious italian sausage!) - the owners are also extremely generous and have graciously donated Flying Pie food to a holiday event for foster families sponsored by Olive Crest. Thanks Katherine and the Flying Pie family, you are amazing and we're happy to support your business, it's always a pleasure!

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
