The bbq pork bahn mi is heaven in a baguette. Subway and safeway and every other place that does sandwiches does not hold a candle to the bahn mi. In comparison to other bahn mi places, Seattle Deli has the best version. The meat is basically giant pieces of bacon. The baguette is crispy on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside. The veggies are perfectly crisp and then the spread (what is that? like mayo or a combo of things?) is just the right amount of savory.

I really cannot ask for anything more when it's $2.50 for a delicious BBQ pork sandwich. The sandwich is filled with BBQ pork, Asian slaw (pickled daikon, carrots, cucumber, cilantro, and sliced jalapeno) on freshly toasted french roll with some mayo. I like the Edmonds store better than Seattle location because it is cleaner, the line is not as long, and there is lots of parking.

i made it out of here with $4 and some spare change! i wanted that banh mi sandwich thing, but chose the similar sandwich with bbq pork instead on the recommendations of the super-sweet ladies behind the counter. This wasn't the red-skinned, icky bbq pork you find at the grocery store...this had meaty chunks of pork that were akin to juicy chunks of fried bacon. The same fixings that come with the usual banh mi sammies accompanied it. They don't skimp on the fillings, either (i took pictures and posted them, if you want to torture yourself). After perusing their unusual and mysterious pre-packaged food display, i settled upon sticky rice wrapped in banana leaves (or some kind of leaves) that were stuffed with sticky rice, mushrooms, an egg, and sausage. When i unwrapped it at home, i realized that visually, this item was not going to win anybody over. But it was so....good. A little gooey, like mochi, a little salty, warm, with a little eggie sitting inside. The egg's yolk was cooked, but so creamy, it was more like a mousse. Don't be afraid to try stuff here, because it's cheap, and chances are (according to Andrew Zimmern on the Travel Network) that the more disgusting it looks, the better it tastes! Then go next door to the Boohan Market, but a quarter in the instant coffee/milk machine near the bakery items, and get a little, hot steaming cup of pumpkin milk. *joy

This place rocks, I love coming here for little snacks or food to make a meal out of, without feeling the wallet feeling too light. I must say their ca phe sua da (vietnamese iced coffee) one of the best I have had. For a buck seventy five, you can't beat it. Ok peeps, I know they're small, but it's not really meant to be taken like a shot. After all if you are getting one of their banh mi sandwiches and a coffee, you will need something to wash it down. Just chill... sip...and chill.

holy macaroni is this true? Is it really Seattle deli!??? Yes yes yes!!!! So it's just like the one in Seattle; not as busy but the quality is pretty much the same. I love Seattle deli's chicken sandwich and their hot foods :) if I am hungry for some home cooked fast food to go before work... This is where I go. Let's welcome Seattle deli to Edmonds!!! -clap clap clap-

When my mom told me that there was a Seattle Deli in Edmonds, I couldn't believe it. Having recently moved up north, I missed the quick trips to Chinatown to get my Vietnamese sandwich fix. A few weeks ago, I went and found the new one and ordered a few-the ladies working there were so cheery and friendly; the cashier said that items were 10% off because it was near closing time. Whoohoo! The Edmonds location doesn't have as much as the Seattle location but it's just as clean and has the more popular items. I usually get the sandwiches, spring rolls and soda. I love Seattle Deli!

Awesome. Simple, affordable, great food. BBQ Pork sandwich (plenty big for lunch), BBQ Pork with rice (took this for later) and a can of coconut juice for less than $6.00? I love places like these. Well done.

  • C. N.

I have to admit, this place is cheap. The sandwiches were all around $2.50 and I think there was one that was a little less. The hum bao's were large and still warm, I think they were $1.75 a piece. I found the sandwiches were just OK, but you cant complain about a meal for $2.50. --cash only--

I must say that the Seattle Deli was a major disappointment. The first problem was language...she didn't speak english and I don't speak Veitnamese.I really wanted to try a bahn mi with a slathering of liver pate. Instead the bahn mi was built on a really stale baguette, It was served cold, stuffed with funky sandwich meat, ala subway... I was really shocked and disappointed. Oh well live and learn. JR

Superb BBQ sandwhich, Superb Chicken sandwich. I want that tangy mayo whatever it is for my kitchen! maybe I'll ask them next time... have yet to try anything else...some very interesting looking food in here..authentic Vietnamese I'm sure..tiny place in a strip mall..not a sit down place...THE best value around as I got 2 sandwhiches and a can of root beer for $5.25! ...prices are from the 1980's ...early 80's..no 80's music playing though sorry....who sells a soda for 50 cents still??....sshhhhhh...don't tell them.

If you ever get a chance to go the the International District North (hwy 99 in Edmonds) with nothing but a 5 spot, check this place out. Two things to remember: BRING CASH and order the BBQ pork banh mi, unless you have a problem with delicious.... So 5 stars for the price and flavor minus one for having to run to the market next door and pull out cash.

The Edmonds store is more customer friendly than the Seattle location. I find the sandwiches a bit more tastier than Yeh Yeh's - the rolls always fresh with the perfect combination of jalapeno, cilantro, mayo & chicken. BBQ chicken is my favorite. The shrimp spring rolls are always delicious and fresh. The rice wrapped in leaves is moist and flavorful. Yes, they are on the counter, but the high turnover keeps the product fresh.

I've been meaning to try the Seattle Deli for a while in order to compare the banh mi with Yeh Yeh's. Yeh Yeh's is getting so popular I did not want to wrestle with the parking today. So Seattle Deli it was. I got the pork banh mi. I was surprised at how delicious it was but Yeh Yeh's holds the edge. The Seattle Deli banh mi may have had a little more pork and possibly tastier pork but the Yeh Yeh's vegetables and overall taste is better. The Seattle Deli sandwich was not heated enough. There was no siracha hot sauce to douse it with and I had to get it to go because there is no seating at the Seattle Deli. However it is still an awesomely delicious sandwich for only $2.75. It's sad to think people are eating greasy burgers at Jack in the Box and McDonald's on Highway 99 when they could be enjoying a pork banh mi. I live closer to the Seattle Deli than Yeh Yeh's so I definitely will return, but Yeh Yeh's is still my number one!

My favorite place for a BBQ Pork Bahn Mi easily. I do recommend getting there a little early tho. Many items are fresher earlier in the morning/day.

SO cheap yet so good is all you need to say to sum up seattle deli. For a 2.50 sandwhich you get fresh veggies on bread plus meat. Like all the other reviews bbq chicken is the best. Not only that but if memory serves you can get 2 spring rolls for only 1.25 how better can a deal get. viet sandwhichs are a quick and healthy lunch and seattle deli is one of your places to go if your close by. The only thing wrong is being located near pho than brothers. I can't decide between pho and this hmmmmmmm

  • Tom d.

Sandwiches are awesome....freshly made and CHEAP!!! I'm a fan of the Chicken sandwich, but everyone else in my family raves about the BBQ Pork. My mom is very "grissle sensitive" and rarely gets pork...but she loves it. Eggrolls are good. Occasionally I'll swing by to pick up their fresh made rolls for other food too. Very friendly folks.

Here's a short review due to the one item order. Dropped in to grab a Vietnamese dessert with the wife. Always had great food at the 12th & Jackson location. Got home and turned out to be a $1.50 cup of "diarrhea waiting to happen". Down the drain it went. Will probably come back for a sandwich though when I don't want to head down to Seattle and hopefully salvage this review.

can i just say i love this friggin' place? ever since moving to redmond last june, i try to come here once a month to grab a few bahn mi's to eat over a few days time. my family are now hooked on the bahn mi ever since i decided to thank them with a sandwich for helping me move to the east side. every few weeks they will ask me if i've had one. super cheap, super tasty food. i've also tried the fried rice, one of the desserts in the cooler, the spring rolls, and one of those jelly type desserts they usually have on the counter. all were great. i somehow always manage to get the same lady working the cash register and i think she now recognizes me. i've been coming here for the past year, so that may be why. always friendly, so i'm happy. plan to go here this coming weekend to get my monthly fill and have even decided to take a few to my parents. they ask me constantly about these sandwiches and even get cravings apparently. i figure i'll be nice and treat them to one of the best sandwiches in town.

This is really 3.5 stars. This is my favorite northend place for bahn mi. Delicious combinations of pork, cucumber, dressing, lettuce, herbs and jalapeno on a crispy baguette. Add in tea leaf wrapped rice and shrimp spring rolls with a sweet peanut dipping sauce and you have a large inexpensive lunch. On the weekends fresh baked goods are piled high next to the counter so it's easy to grab a bag of croissants or a tray of cream puffs and check out for an amazingly low price. Take out only

We go here all the time for lunch. Just $2.50 for a Vietnamese BBQ pork sandwich. Baguettes are crunchy and fresh, veggies are spicy, and the meat is tasty. Hard to beat for the price! Get a $1.50 iced coffee while your at it to finish your $4 meal. Yum!

  • Barry Z.

This is a great place. Got two Bahn Min sandwiches (one BBQ pork and one Chicken). They were only like 2 dollars apiece so I figured they were small so I got 2. They are full size and the French roll they are on is fresh and crispy soooo good. Could only finish one. The BBQ pork was a great deal on great food!

    (4)
  • Hola A.

The price is hard to beat, pork sandwich for $2.50? Yep, you heard me! Super economic friendly. The sandwich was better than average but compared to Yeh Yeh's, I feel that Yeh Yeh's sandwiches is quite a bit better in terms of quality. And I had to busy myself waiting for them to take my order when they were just chatting it up with other peeps but it's all good in the hood, gotta support my Asian peeps! Toodles!

  • Elbo W.

5 dollar foot longs dont have anything on these 3 dollar delights. this review is based solely on what i have tried here (tofu and pork bahn mi, eggrolls, and spring rolls). less than 3 bucks for a sandwich and 1 dollar for 2 egg rolls. the french bread used for the bahn mi has a delightful crunchy crust that surrounds the nice fluffy inside. the pate, pickled carrots, cilantro, ect. work as they should to create a proper bahn mi. there is no doubt that i would visit more often if i lived closer.

  • David O.

$2.75 sandwiches? Never mind the price, the bread they are served on is New York city good. Vietnamese bun (vermicelli noodles in a bowl) with grilled pork and eggrolls. All sort of Asian specialties at amazing prices. The spring rolls are to die for.

We've fallen in love.....with sandwiches! My husband and I found this place several weeks ago, and we can't get enough of it. I think we go there at least 2-3 times a week. You can't get a better sandwich for 2.50. I love the BBQ pork, my husband loves his chicken.

This is one of my favorite lunch spots for grab-n-go. The Banh Mi are $3.00-$3.25, so cheap that when I have extra cash on me, I get a couple extra for any co-workers that may want one. The sandwiches themselves are delicious, my favorite is the BBQ pork. They have many other hot and cold dishes but I love the sandwiches so much I never have room for more food! No muss, no fuss, just remember to bring cash!

I was referred here by a fellow foodie friend. She said they had the best bahn mi's on the planet. She was RIGHT! am ADDICTED to the bbq pork bahn mi. I bought one in the morning for breakfast one day (they open at 8a.m. YAY!). The entire rest of the day I craved another and it was the first thing I thought about the next morning (and returned to get early in the a.m.). Yum! Grilled smoky, salty tender pork, pickled crunchy veggies, cilantro, and spicy jalapenos on a crunchy on the outside/soft on the inside baguette all for only $3.25. I also noticed the green papaya salad on the menu ($4.00), I expected a small cup of salad. This thing was HUGE. Green papaya, shrimp (or you could choose a marinated beef as well), basil, red jalapenos, peanuts and a fish sauce/citrus/savory dressing (DELICOUS). They also have maybe a dozen or more 'hot' choices in their case that looked delicious as well as several choices in a cold case. They also had a few desserts (most of which I am not familiar with). My friend that referred me to this place highly recommends the egg rolls and about half a dozen other hot items; all of which I plan on trying in the next month or two. I highly recommend Seattle Deli for a cheap in price, yet NOT cheap in flavor meal.

Amazing spring rolls and sesame buns. Sadly, I found a good sized hair. It happens, its inevitable, we are human. I have a very low tolerance for stuff like this and so haven't been back. I've been very close to returning though.

This place has delicious bbq pork banh mi, che, and humbao. I love this place because it is decently priced and quick. I never have to spend more than $20 to have a huge meal between 2 people and still manage to have leftovers. The only downside is they only accept cash.

    (4)
  • Najin K.

The bahn mi here was super good! Well my ideal of super good is a crunchy bread and that's is exactly what they had here. I didn't even eat it fresh and it was still good. This hole in the wall has a lot of choices all of which so far have been great. Also nice to see bahn baos here, that is hard to find in lynnwood.

  • Camille L.

I come here when I'm super hungry and don't have time to cook or don't want to cook. I love their "bhan mi" (grilled pork or the "special"). Actually they sell a lot of good food here. They have hot food as well for take out. My favorite is their stuffed tofu with pork, steamed and stuffed bitter melon w/pork, stir fried string beans w/tofu. I also like their salads. So many to choose from if you are not picky. I'm pretty brave to try any food once. Ppl here are very nice and always convince me to try something new and are always successful. It's unlikely for me to say no to food anyway. They only take cash so be prepared to have extra bcs they have wonderful snacks as well, desserts AND....they cater. There's plenty of parking and is located on Hwy 99 nxt to Boohan Market (Korean Market that is)-same location where Than Brother is here in Edmonds.

It is hard to find decent Asian cuisine outside of Chinatown. It is even harder to find decent Asian cuisine in an area not densely populated with Asians. This little gem embodies hole in the wall. Not only is it in a remote place where it's hip and happening, but it is hard to find unless you know what to look for. The easiest way to find this place is look for the Korean supermarket, Boo-han. It's tucked on the side of the supermarket. It has your standard Viet to go fare - banh mi, banh beo tom, banh bao, banh cuon, cha lua, che. It also has savory Viet dishes that most Viet people grew up eating - ca chien, thit kho, etc. The food is pretty decent. I found it to be quite flavorful and similar to what my dad and aunts cooked for me growing up. Price is reasonable. Be sure to bring cash only!!! If you want to try this place, here are my recommendations of what to get at Seattle Deli: - Banh Mi Dac Biet (House Special) - Banh Mi Thit Nuong (BBQ Pork Sandwich) - Banh Cuon (Wide rice noodles stuffed with steamed pork and wood ear mushrooms) - Banh Bao (Steamed minced pork buns with Chinese sausage and a hard boiled egg) - Banh Beo Tom (Mini rice cakes with shrimp and pork) - Che Dau Xanh (Mung bean dessert with coconut milk) Not sure if this one has ties to the one in Seattle, but it is worth a trip!

Love the sandwiches. Haven't tried anything else because the sandwiches are our go to for hiking.

The price for everything on the menu is incredibly cheap. It saves me a trip to China town when I want some good Viet subs and sides. Just like downtown, when you walk in, you're greeted by a lovely family of flies. The place smells like the equivalent of Abercrombie and Fitch - only the cologne they use is fish sauce. But, whose complaining? Their banh mi is good. I wouldn't say it's better than Saigon's. The sauce they use sort of tastes tuna-ee. However, everything else tasted fresh and the sandwich was full of BBQ pork meat. We also picked vermicelli from the counter. The pork was really tough and dry, and they put way too much lettuce to compensate for the lack of noodles. I didn't expect it to be restaurant quality since they only charged $5 for it. IMO, delicious for $5, without the meat. Egg rolls are bomb, by the way. I could eat 5 of those in 5 minutes. I'll be back. Food is made fast or ready to go. The ladies are nice. And I like the family of flies. 4 stars

  • Lora L.

The food here is good and apparently the same owner as the Seattle Deli in Chinatown. I ordered a few items and they were all tasty but my stomach didn't agree with it. I'm really hoping that it was just an ingredient my stomach didn't agree with and not due to uncleanliness like some of the reviews I read. I did see the lady wear plastic gloves handle the cash and i HOPE she threw out those gloves for the next customer. I just might have to try them one more time because in all fairness the price, location and taste is convenient and good.

Cheap togo food in edmonds. Save me a trip to chinatown. I like their chicken sandwhich but needs a little bit of soy sauce.

  • Lyna N.

Really great food for great prices! Everything is fresh (I came around 1 PM) and the ladies working there are nice :) I enjoyed their desserts a lot (my mom pretty much bought one of each). My favorite is the Che Thai. I also tried the bamboo stir fry with pork and hot & sour soup which was good. They have a lot of snacks and meals you can buy to go, as well as hot food. I've only been here once so I'll update my review and see how other things are whenever I come back. My mom comes here all the time though.

There are not that many decent VM food establishments in the north end so when this place opened a few years ago, I was elated. In the beginning, the food was good and the service was above average. I used to go there often at least once a week. However, over the years, the quality of both the food and the service started deteriorating to the point now that I try not to go there unless I really have to. The last time I went there and got the special Banh Mi, I ended up with a stomach problem. When I saw my sandwich being made, I thought about just canceling my order and leave but I was really hungry and stuck with the order. Here is what happened. When I went into the deli, there was no one out in the front. I called out loud for service and a lady came out from the kitchen where she was working. On her hands, she was wearing a old heavily used pair of gloves. Who knows what she was doing in the back with those gloves on her hands. After she came out to the front and while she was waiting for me to decide what to order, she started cleaning the counter using the dirty used rag that was laying on the counter. Then after I made my selection, she went straight over to the sandwich prep place and started making my sandwich. She didn't bother washing her hands or changing the old used gloved she wore to cleaning the counter. As I watched her made my sandwich, I felt like gagging. I grinned as I watched her picked the meat and pickled vegetables to place in my sandwich with the dirty gloves. After paying for the sandwich and leaving the deli, I thought about throwing away the sandwich but I was very hungry and so I took the chance and ate it. BIG mistake and I paid for it that night at home. I just wish this place trains its workers better. I am not sure if the workers don't know any better about proper food preparation or the owners trying to save a few bucks over gloves. Either way, they are putting the publics health at risk. It will be a long time before I have another sandwich from this place.

Affordable and authentic Vietnamese food that is good. I would say nearly everything is worth a try in this shop because you really cant go wrong with the price. I especially like their pate sandwiches, tom yum soup, bitter melon soup (not for everyone), and bubble tea.

  • Drea N.

I was sorely disappointed by the food from all the great reviews. This is what I had: BBQ Pork Banh Mi-Like eating tough pork jerky and stale bread. Steamed bun-Found an egg shell in the meatball and it killed my appetite. The bun was very wet as well. Triangle steamed sticky rice wrapped in banana leaf-There was a sharp bitter flavor in the meat. Shudder... Sweet drink with beans, jelly, and fruit-was surprisingly tasty. I am definitely not going back here. :(

  • Mike S.

Hum bow dry and hard on the top, very stale. My pork sandwich was inedible the baguette was beyond stale and the pork was dry and hard. Bamboo was edible but the low temperature scared me, so it all went into the trash, what a waste and disappointment.

Go to Vietnamese spot for vietnamese food whenever I get home sick, its good for when I'm craving viet food and don't want to make it at home.. CASH ONLY! Is the down side lol, but yummy overall

Hands down the best bahn mi there is. I've had bahn mi at half a dozen places around Seattle. And prices are great. They also have other food that you can get as a combo dish - rice and two side orders and all that. I never eat out, but I come here once a week for my bahn mi addiction.

Chicken sandwich and coffee bubble tea. Felt the sandwich was very good, especially at such an inexpensive price! Very fresh. Bubble tea was nearly equal in tastiness. Friendly reminder, it is cash only! There is an ATM in the neighboring market, with 1.75$ surcharge.

The banh mi sandwiches were a hit for Seahawks playoff game!! Great way to enjoy the game. Just call in the order, pick up, cut in half, arrange on plates, and devour! Never any leftovers, and easy cleanup! Quality is always there, so always order the sandwiches from Seattle Deli!

Great food at a great price and very quick! I love the tofu banh mi and a couple egg rolls. I don't try the other things they offer but it all looks good. If you are hungry and on 99 and want to eat a sandwich this is the spot.

My FAVORITE place for a Vietnamese Sub. Insanely cheap, quick, and delicious. Their egg rolls are amazing. One of my favorite place to pick up lunch when I'm having a busy day.

  • Jeff C.

I come here when I feel like to grab something quick/ cheap/ healthy/ and fresh sandwiches. Their pork and special sandwiches are my favorites. The bread is very good and I love the sauce on the special sandwich. Their pork sandwich is hit and miss... the meat could be a little dry sometimes. All of the sandwiches are made to order so expect to wait up to 10 mins if you come during busy hours. The rest of the deli items is up to 50% off if you visit close to closing times. I have tried the spring rolls, egg rolls, and fish balls. Everything is pretty decent but wish they would refrigerate some of the items that contain seafood and meat. The Seattle location was featured on "Seattle's dirtiest restaurant".... however, this place seems pretty clean (at least at the store front). Come and give this place a try if you are looking for very cheap food.

Usually buy our banh mi sandwiches at lunch time, always good. Have recently bought sandwiches at dinner time, around 6:00pm and both times the BBQ pork was like jerky. Very dry and tough, so sad! Especially since I was already home and couldn't ask for a do over. Beware the dinner BBQ pork banh mi.

Good food and very affordable! I like the special sandwich and the desserts are amazing! Not as much items as the other location though.

Food is great but service is TERRIBLE. Very disappointing. The guy owner is pretty friendly but everyone else there is very rude and don't understand English. I asked a simple question which was how much is this food and she looked very annoyed. She said they're all different and turned around said something I didn't understand and said she can't help me right now and she will be back. I like their food but that kind of rude service makes me not want to come back anymore.

I wanted to stop by here since it was close to Costco instead of going all the way down to the International District. I prefer the ID location better -- they totally skimp on the sandwich contents here! I tried the BBQ pork and special pork and it was the same in taste and quality except the ID location gave more meat. Tried the meatballs and egg rolls as well; delicious and cheap!

I usually come here if i want some banh mi and too lazy to drive down to chinatown. They also have some many varieties of snacks/goodies..tho i have never tried them yet. Service is always great. The ladies there are always friendly and welcoming. A place to go to get my chicken banh mi with extra extra extra jalapeños!.

love to get iced vietnamese coffees & donut balls. .2coffees and 3donut balls all for $5 !! so cheap. food here is fresh. especially if you go in the morning.

  • Ray I.

I can get banh mi, papaya salad, spring rolls, and one more item here for a little over $11, which is great! The banh mi is really good and the rest of the food is good as well. I'm not too sure about the freshness though. The papaya salad went bad after two days in the fridge without opening the plastic wrap it was sealed in. After seeing the Chinatown's Seattle Deli on Kiro's "Seattle's Dirtiest Restaurant" feature, I can't be too careful. Probably won't come here again due to that since they are most likely owned by the same people. I don't want to risk getting really sick from eating the food.

Yes, go here! This is run by Vietnamese people who are super nice and have great food. It reminds me of the Vietnamese businesses back in Little Saigon in California. Some highlights and things to keep in mind: Food items can be as low as $2.75 and you can get a lot for your buck. Also, they only take cash, so make sure you have cash on hand because you don't want to be disappointed and can't make the purchase. Plan to take out because there are no tables or seats. Last of all, the shop is easy to miss so slow down when you get close because the store is in the back of the parking lot and the parking can be frustrating. Behind the glass, you can se they sell food items that families typically share at dinner with rice. Next to it are the desserts called "che." Most of them are pinto beans, flour filled with mung beans and sweetened with sugar cane or coconut milk. On the counter, you'll find the spring rolls that are NOT fried. They are filled with shrimp, tofu, chicken, or pork. Unfortunately, many of the items on the counter have some type of pork in it so if you can't eat pork, don't order from the items on the counter. This item is dipped either in fish sauce or peanut sauce. Also the other items on the counter are rolled rice flour known as "cuon" which are filled with again some form of protein and typically green onions and fried scallions. All of these items are typically eating with the fish sauce. In a plastic container, you'll see "buon" which is vermicelli noodles with vegetables and a type of meat. It's eaten with fish sauce if you want. I think it is $5 or less. This is a great dish that makes you feel healthy. Sometimes you will see a bread in a tin but surprised to see that the insides is green and sitcky looking. This is "Bahn bo" which is a sweet bread dessert made of rice flour, yeast, water, sugar, and coconut milk. The texture is different but I've grown up on it and love it. Other glass- You'll see a dish that is piled high with shrimp on top. That is probably the papaya salad. It is young papaya that is sliced up mixed with pickled carrots and dicons and eaten with the fish sauce. The last item I will talk about are the Vietnamese bahn mi sandwiches. They are only $2.75 each and are a full bagette filled with pickled carrots and daikons, cilantro, cucumber, jalepenos (very spicy), a mayonese type sauce, and your choice of meat (chicken, pork, beef, tofu). I absolutely love these sandwiches and for under $3, I will take it. If you're thirsty and not afraid to try something new, I suggest the green drink "rau ma" which is also known as pennywort or centella. It has unique taste that I can't even compare but it's basically the leaves and stems of centella, water, and sugar. It leaves you feeling healthy and is a great summer freshness to it.

Great inexpensive sandwiches. As a white guy I have no clue what most of the stuff is there but I have ventured into a lot of the stuff there and have found some new favorite things. I would love to tell you what they are but all I can do is stand there and point and say yeah some of that. Bottom line good stuff at a good price

We always come here for Viet sandwiches or spring rolls. You gotta make sure you come here when they open or early in the day for fresh sandwiches and other food. My faves are the special and the bbq pork (which ALWAYS runs if you don't get here early enough). They do leave the food out all day so, if you do come later.. you'll have to eat at your own risk. Also, it's cash only. If you forget, you can stop by the Korean grocery store next door to pull some out.

It's good, but stick to the sandwiches. Grabbed 3 of the special sandwiches with extra pate. Tasty, good amount of meat, and crisp veggies. The bread was decent, could have been a bit softer, but at the same time it wasn't overly hard (except for maybe the ends). Also tried their vietnamese coffee, fresh spring rolls, egg rolls, pork pastry, and meatball stick. The vietnamese coffee was very good and strong, as it should be. The fresh spring rolls were also decent. However, I'd skip the things from the heated window (egg rolls, pork puff pastry, and meatball stick). The egg roll wrapping was too tough and maybe the heating lamps weren't working properly, but these items were all kind of...cold. Cold egg rolls, pork pastry, and meatballs aren't that appetizing. The meatballs were good, but they would've been a lot better if they were served hot. The pork pastry was a butter pastry with basically a giant meatball inside. Again, tasty, but having it cold doesn't make me want to get it again. Spring rolls sounded better than they tasted. Go for the sandwiches and coffee. Cash only.

Definitely not a terrible place by any means, but again, I'm gonna go by the stars...meh, I've experienced better. This review is solely on the banh mi and the iced coffee. The sandwich was alright, pretty standard, but nothing special by any means. I usually like my banh mi's bread crispy on the outside and then soft on the inside and it felt just soft all over. Not crispy at all. The insides were decent, with some tasty bbq pork, but I also felt like something was missing. At $2.75, it was a bit spendier than the banh mi's I get in San Jose. The coffee, I actually did not enjoy at all. I understand that the vietnamese ices coffees are normally stronger than normal iced coffees, but this one was way too strong and not enough condensed milk. I wasn't able to sleep at night. I feel a bit bad about just leaving two stars, but I'm just not sure I'd return. The other items, such as the desserts look decent but again, the main draw for this place is the banh mi and it just didn't cut it for me.

I'm guessing at the address, I'll have to double check it later, but this new location for the Seattle Deli is right next to Boo Han grocery store in Edmonds on Hwy 99. Worthy effort and compared to the actual "Seattle" location, this one is far better in my opinion. The Banh Mi is packed with goodies, granted they have only been open a month now. Oh, there's a 10-20% discount during their Grand Opening! The sandwiches are solid, they use the "official" bread from Seatac, professional Banh Mi eaters will know what I'm talking about.... The grilled meat in our sandwiches was perfect, tender and tasty, a sheer delight as we no longer have to drive to the ID to get these wonderful sandwiches. For $2.50, it'sa great find! The "hot" counter is subject to inspection for the more adventurous, we asked about several items, they looked good, but we stuck with our standard sammies from heaven.... Decent amount of parking, oh, and CASH ONLY!!

i've been dreaming about Seattle Deli a lot in the past few weeks. i might as well write my overdue review on it! =) it's very cheap/affordable and houses so many Vietnamese treats, desserts, sandwich choices, hot steam section, snacks, drinks, etc. i know it's not perfect like the deli's in CD- but in Lynnwood??? it's a godsend for me. i always stick with the marinated tofu banh mi. i love grabbing a bunch of summer shrimp rolls and rice cakes on my way to picnics, barbecues and beach outings. i don't mess around with the hot steam table much- i like my simple sandwiches, drinks, snacks and desserts. beware: CASH ONLY!!!

Having tried a few more things I thought I'd give an update: The chicken sandwich - good, but only get it if they run out of the BBQ pork. The "special" sandwich - has different types of thinly sliced sauagey type meets, I like all the fresh veggies in it, but the meats are a little questionable. The bubble tea - One scoop of this white powder, another scoop of another, one scoop of ice, hmmm... doesn't sound like a good combination. So beside the fact that they gave me a smoothie (which was way too sweet - I guess too much of scoop number one) when I just wanted a milk tea (okay, let that one go), and they left out the bubbles (not letting this one go because I've got a kid in the car who wants BUBBLE tea, not just tea), they actually made a huge deal out of it when I asked them to put in the tapioca balls, the story goes on but I'll stop and end with, don't get any bubble tea here, they don't know what they are doing. I'm still going back for their sandwiches and fresh spring rolls :)

Great Vietnamese deli with good quality Banh Mi and spring rolls and great service and prices. We use Seattle deli for large gatherings and have never been disappointed. Food is fresh and the value is excellent. Highly recommended!

I went here with a friend on Saturday and we got a couple of sandwiches each (BBQ pork and Chicken). I also went ahead and tried their meatballs. All of this was really tasty. The sandwiches were good, and one of them had a little extra spiciness I don't often get in bahn mi that sent me on a lap around the living room (lots of jalapeño). It's nice to spend the afternoon watching some college football and eating bahn mi. I will be back.

I love cheap food, especially cheap vietnamese deli food. The sandwiches are still stellar but I now question the spring rolls which have fallen ill to poor quality. The fake whatever peanut sauce is more watery then ever and the shredded lettuce in the rolls need to go! I know they have to make a profit but don't sell short vietnamese cuisine. Let's keep it authentic and not use lame iceberg lettuce!

Pretty good place for a Vietnamese sandwich and other Vietnamese hot and cold deli food. I have to admit that the sandwiches are only good when certain people make it. Some will skimp on the ingredients. They have one of the best and cheapest iced coffees around. Strong, but not too sweet with the added condensed milk.

Had the pork sandwich. Interesting, unusual flavors and very fresh, delicious. You'd hardly expect food this good from a place that looks this bare bones. Great value.

CASH ONLY. The BBQ Pork Sandwich is average. The young casher was not friendly to us at all for some reasons. I wish she reminded us about the jalapeño especially when my kids ordered their sandwiches. We prefer to Yeh Yeh's than the Seattle Deli.

Great prices for what I would call Vietnamese fast food. The sandwiches are okay....however go on a day when the bread isn't fresh...BEWARE...makes it really hard to eat. Their 2 item combo is decent. You get 2 items with rice for about 5 bucks so makes for a good lunch or dinner. Nothing really special but if you want something fast or cheap, this is probably a good place to stop.

The Vietnamese Sandwiches here are great, but in a different way than what makes Yeh Yeh's Bahn Mi great. The bahn mi here are more flavorful, the pate is much tastier and more authentic. The size is also more traditional, a balanced amount of meat and veggies, not bursting at the seams, but contained neatly inside the crusty baguette. They ran out of BBQ pork, so we had the chicken bahn mi ($2.25) and the special bahn mi ($2.25). Both were tasty, but the special may not appeal to the masses with it's Vietnamese ham and sausage slices, it's different. Great place for quick, cheap and tasty Vietnamese sandwiches. Cash Only.

This is why I love Yelp. After writing a review I was just poking around seeing what was "hot" in my area and saw a review for Seattle Deli. Couldn't believe I hadn't been as Than Brothers is a frequent place for dinner for us. Told the hubby about the $2.50 sandwiches and it took us less than 24 hours to get over there. I am a big Pho fan, so I still opted for Than Brothers, but the hubby got the BBQ Pork Sandwich AND the Special Sandwich. We also got some eggrolls from there. Eggroll and the bite of his BBQ Pork were delish. I couldn't believe it tasted so good for so cheap! Definitely will have to get one for myself next time. Boo Han Plaza has become the place for dinner! =)

Beat still my little heart... The barbecue pork bánh mì is simply divine. It's exactly what I have been craving since I worked down the street from a little Viet mom and pop deli in the Genesse area. The bread was a little warm and had a perfect crunch with great chewiness on the inside. The pork, veggies and peppers were well proportioned and all flavorful. The sauce was delish (not a plain mayo) as well. As I drove down the road, I started to get sad that this delicious sandwich was almost gone, I considered turning around to buy another one. I also grabbed a tray of tofu spring rolls and they were darn tasty too!

$2.75 for BBQ pork and $2.50 for chicken bahn mi. Spring rolls are also solid. Can't really beat the price for a good, filling lunch. Recently catered a lunch group for 30 with a budget of $5/person, and was able to stay within budget (everyone was very happy with the food, and the value) - Seattle Deli was very accomodating with my schedule, as I had to pick-up immediately after their doors opened. I don't eat bahn mi often, but this is where I would go to get it. Note: Cash only.

Cheap... I think that's really all this place has going for itself. I've eaten here only twice but the second (and last) time I ate here solidifies the single star review. I got food poisoning from a sandwich there. I threw up so much that night I didn't go in to work the next day. Hit Yeh Yeh's a few miles north for a decent Banh Mi... But avoid this joint...

Craving a BBQ pork Banh Mi I hopped in the car and drove to Seattle Deli for some of their delicious sandwich love. I watched anxiously as my food was prepared, counting down the seconds until that baby was mine! I walked over to the register for the sandwich hand-off when--D'oh! I had forgotten my wallet! I wasn't giving up yet! I dumped out the contents of my purse, scoured the floorboards of my car, and managed to scrounge up enough cash in change for my sammy AND a bag of chips! Talk about Banh for your buck! Thanks Seattle Deli for keeping a poor girl happy!

I was excited back when I first heard that Seattle Deli was opening up one up north and I have been happy ever since to have it as an option without hitting up Seattle. Great banh mi, cheap and just like the Seattle location's! Huge humbow, great spring rolls, and I've always found them friendly! It's been said before, but cash only! Same with Than Brothers in the same strip, so somewhat easier to remember. Worth a stop or going out of your way to try!

there are dozens of places to eat up and down highway 99... but if you're ballin on a budget and hungry - this is the place for you. it's quick, it's easy, it's cheap, and its goooooood. tired of panda express and safeway chinese food? but don't have time to sit down and eat at a real restaurant? Seattle Deli has plenty of homestyle cooking to satisfy all your cravings - from fish to tofu, pork, beef chicken, veggies - you can get 2 items and rice for $4.50 or add a $1 more for fried rice. in the mood for a sandwich? if you don't know (about vietnamese sandwiches) you better call somebody. forget about $5 foot longs... Seattle Deli has $2.50 foot longs called Banh Mi (means bread in vietnamese). you can get bbq pork, chicken, beef, whatever! best sandwiches hands down are vietnamese sandwiches. they also have an array of premade plates - great for a quick snack/meal and they are delicious! as well as a variety of sweet desserts and baked goods.

Seattle Deli is kinda like a subway for Banh Mi, except for much much cheaper! You can customize your sandwich (which for a Vietnamese sandwich is kinda rare.) They make it there, right in front of you while you wait. Their egg rolls are also great! (2 for $1.00). As other reviewers have mentioned, they are cash only. These guys are great, really quick and will answer any questions you have. For $2.50 you get a huge pork Banh Mi. They also have a great selection of beverages and even some candy as well.

I was excited to find that there was an asian deli up north closer to home but my experience here was far from what I expected. The moment I walked in, the first thing I noticed was the smell... and it wasn't a pleasant smell. I can't quite explain it - some sort of a mixture of a bunch of oiliness but it was nauseating and I had to hold my breath. The first thing I noticed were the EGGROLLS. I'm a big eggroll fanatic and am always looking for delis with good eggrolls. They were nicely lined in their bin unlike other places that just toss them in. However, the eggrolls were a FAIL. I was so disappointed. It tasted like one of the eggrolls from a cheap buffet. It was stuffed with mainly cabbage and little meat - and even some of the cabbage was plastic-like and I couldn't even chew them well. Plus, the cabbage tasted old. The only upside to the eggrolls was that it wasnt oily. I also tried the sesame ball which wasn't bad - tasted like everywhere else's. Everyone says that the service is great and the ladies here are nice but my experience couldn't say the same. The ladies were a bit rude and kept looking at me up and down. I could sense some weird tension from them. Wasn't anything major and was the typical sad asian service, but I could've definitely done without it. I probably wont be coming here again. I would rather drive an extra 10 mins and drive down south for some good asian deli food.

If you haven't gotten sandwiches here yet, you need to get in here and order either the bbq pork or the chicken bahn mi sandwich. Flavorful, crunchy, tasty, magic in a french bread sub roll, all for the amazing cost of $2.25 (chicken) or $2.50 (pork). And the spring rolls are delish, and similarly low priced. This sandwich is big enough to feed two if you are a light eater, but heck, go for the whole shebang, and pretend that all the good stuff inside (vegies and such) negates the extra calories! Where else can you pull out a ten spot and feed a family of four with such goodness? Not too many places that I know of. Be forewarned that others know about this place, and if you don't get in early enough, they may have had a run on the pork (most popular), but the chicken makes a nice second choice! Go, eat, and enjoy!

Small deli, cash only. I only order coffee, a green "healthy" drink, and banh mi sandwiches. Though I prefer Yeh Yeh's banh mi, this deli's aren't bad at all (decent amount of meats and veggies in soft hoagie buns). The highlight is the coffee-- dark, rich, creamy, different from espresso drinks (the everyday Starbucks), tastes more "roasted". Other that that, there are hot buffet trays with different foods in each (chicken, noodles, etc), so you can pick out what you want to include in your takeout box. I haven't tried these, but maybe it will be useful info for someone else.

My husband and i stopped in last weekend after an 11 mile run. So, we were starving... We chose two BBQ Pork sandwiches. While waiting, we picked out a freshly packed green papaya salad and tofu summer rolls. With sandwiches, this lunch was more than enough for two people. Best part: It only cost $10.50! Such a deal! And, just delicious!! Everyone there was friendly and the store was just bustling. We admired the colorful desserts and a nice customer told us what each one was. The doors to the kitchen swung open often revealing a clean and busy operation. It's easy for us to get to from Greenwood and I am angling to go back this week for the rice crepes and sticky rice. Plus, we learned about the "special" sandwich made of cold cuts and pate. yum!

Banh Mi! Quick, cheap, and so good! I usually get the BBQ pork or chicken and I'm always satisfied. Sometimes I'll get the special Banh Mi, but prefer the other two more. Try the spring rolls with shrimp. They are always fresh and cheap. Iced coffee is strong, but really sweet. It's a great summer time treat. The egg rolls are hit and miss depending on how long they have been under the heat lamp. This is one of my favorite places now. Just remember that it is cash only. Enjoy!

I'm glad they opened one up north, so that we do not have to go to Chinatown just for some Banh Mi! Their banh mi here is similar in every way to the location in Seattle, so that is definitely a plus. I like their plate food near the register as well, you will find a lot of popular Vietnamese favorites there. Worth picking up a few if you want to snack on something. Good place and well priced. Usually 4 or 5 people ahead of me every time I go, which is occasionally.

The chicken banh mi was better than the first time when I had the pork. The bread however, was stale this time. And the inside of that shop was so stifling hot on a 60 degree day, i don't know how they keep all of those spring rolls and meat filled goodies at a resonable temp where if you bought and ate them they wouldn't give you gastrointestinal irritation...

$2... fresh... tofu... sandwich... on baguette... made in front of me! All the fillings for Bahn Mins at Seattle Deli in Edmonds (Hwy 99) are in a hot display case- Tell them what you want when you walk in and they get to making it. My sandwich has fresh marinated thinly sliced tofu, carrots, dakon, jalapeno, cilantro, mayo, pepper, and spice. The sandwich was large but not as big as places like Yeh Yeh's- which is totally OK. The Seattle Deli sandwich was delicious- one of the best tofu sandwiches so far I have ordered- I am so glad I finally stopped in. By the register, they offer a bunch of Styrofoam syran wrapped to-go items like spring rolls. The shrimp spring roll were too tempting so I added it to them order. The spring rolls were fresh and tasty. I loved the dipping sauce which was a cross between peanut and sweet chili sauce. FYI's~ * Cash only- there is an ATM in the Boo Han Market next door * Seattle Deli also sells frozen treats and baked goods- not a huge variety though * Spring Rolls and a Tofu Sandwich= $4 * Seattle Deli Edmodns is perfect of dropping into on the way home and grabbing quick, cheap, quality food
