Came here with a girlfriend for a bite to eat. The bar tender provided great service and suggestions. The grilled cheese with Havarti was delicious, and the Tiki (bar special) drink was one of the best drinks I've had yet. If I am ever in the mood to go to bars with friends in Edmonds, I will come here again for that Tiki drink.

I started going to Taki Tiki when I was looking for a place to live in Edmonds. I was warmly greeted and treated like family. The staff is friendly and professional. I ran into an issue with a new bartender and discussed it with the owner. He listened to my concern and made it right. I am glad to say this business will not lose me as a customer ! Thank you Brian you are a hands on owner. I love the HH tacos with the tots ! see ya soon TAKI TIKI !!!

Good food and good people! You gotta love a good dive bar! This one is among the best! If your looking for a good place to watch a game and have some great pub food and drinks, come on down.

The inside is like a throw up of Aloha but I'm usually the only brown person in downtown edmonds so I enjoyed it! Great late night happy hour after 10pm on a Saturday and the food was actually pretty good. Try the street tacos! Server was really warm and constantly checked on us throughout the night. Loved her! Just great atmosphere and cheap drinks ... In edmonds where the options are quite limited!

(visit: high season Sunday, mid-evening HH) What's better than cold, delicious drinks on one of the hottest days of the year? How about a great happy hour with smokin' prices on said cold drinks!!!? On top of that, a killer HH menu full of great pub grub at reasonable prices! On top of THAT, a relaxing front patio set-up with umbrellas and relaxing seating. Then the coup-de-gras? One of the nicest and friendliest servers I've experienced all year! Yeah, Taki Tiki, you certainly won us over on our impromptu stop. Expectations were exceeded! We lucked out with timing on a Sunday Happy Hour; we were simply seeking refuge from a hot day on the Edmonds Waterfront with a rambunctious niece and nephew in tow. Desperately seeking a cocktail at this point ;) Called ahead to check on seating for the little ones. Gal on phone was super friendly and accommodating and confirmed that the patio was kid friendly. The drink variety and prices were spot on; good selection of beer and cocktails. Food was pleasantly surprisingly for pub grub. House-pulled pork highlighted many of the Mexican-style dishes (the 'Polynesian-twist is the Kahlua-marination I guess). We dug into a couple of orders of pulled pork nachos and quesadilla (this was monster-sized!), and there was also a tasty shrimp cocktail ordered. A fairly lackluster fried mini chicken taco order was in there somewhere I think. The highlight was the relaxed setup outside and the extraordinary service for a place like this. I wouldn't usually expect that for a small town, pub-style bar. I wish I had kept the receipt for the young woman's name, as she was super warm and ingratiating; she really made us feel welcome and everything came out timely and perfect. Our appreciation was illustrated in our gratuity for sure. This place will stay on my radar for Sunday Happy Hour. I can imagine it might be a bit chaotic here on Friday or Saturday nights, so I'll make sure I stop by at times that will allow for a more pleasant, laid-back experience.

I had been to this restaurant a couple of times, and I absolutely loved their teriyaki wings! My husband and daughter were looking forward to try it as well. To our dismay, we were surprised that the wings were very salty. Server suggested to fry another batch and have the sauce on the side. Apparently, they buy the wings from a supplier and she was curious to see if it was just a bad batch, so we decided to give it another try. Next batch of wings came. After one bite, we discovered that it was actually the wings that had the almost unbearable saltiness in it. Dipping it in the teriyaki and buffalo sauce made it worse, so we decided to dip it in ranch and blue cheese to make it bearable and mask the saltiness taste. At this point we were very hungry so we had some. Server came and asked how the wings were, so we explained that it was indeed the wings that tasted funky. She immediately grabbed the remaining batch of wings containing more than half of the original serving and put it back in the kitchen. Our bill came and we were shocked that we were charged for the wings. When asked why, the server said that they keep track of the wings that people consume! We paid and chucked it our loss. Seriously...If you are going to take our food away without letting us even consume it and have the audacity to charge us full price. Very disappointing experience. In addition, place is not packed yet service is slow. Won't be back. Not recommended. Please take your hard earned money someplace else.

I've been coming here ever since they opened years ago. Usually about twice a year. The food is good, albeit heavy. Service varies on who you gave and what time of day you come in. Happy hour food/prices are some of the best in DT Edmonds. Sandwiches are definitely my go-to.

I love anything and everything tiki and this place is no exception! They have an excellent happy hour with $5 mai tais and a large selection of food deals. My boyfriend and I moved near by and we've been there oh so many times since then! Can't pass up a great tiki happy hour! Great street tacos, great tots and even better mai tais!

Love the interior! Bartender was welcoming and hilarious. Got the teriyaki wings and clams to start and they were to die for! Perfect for lunch, appys and drinks! Definitely coming back!

Early dinner - happy Hour at a very interesting place. Yes, it's tacky, but kinda of fun. Rock & Roll music from the 50's & 60's. Tacky Hawaiian decor along with being a sports bar with Seahawks, Mariner, UW and that other university flags. Happy Hour well drinks $5. Kalua pork nachos $7.99. Pretty good food. great drinks!

  • Jackie S.

5 star happy hour menu! Amazing prices for great food. We regularly get the pepper bacon burger and pulled pork sliders. There's usually three of us and we each get a full meal, a drink and a dessert to share and always make it out for under $50 (including a generous tip for the awesome service). Our favorite happy hour spot in Edmonds.

I always enjoy stopping in here: good beer list, good pub grub, friendly service, and generally less noisy than most bars: a place where you can go a talk to friends without shouting, especially in the evening. The decor may or may not suit you - but the atmosphere will. Love the place, and go there often.

The bartenders are friendly, the drinks are well made , and it is a fun place to come with friends.I wish they had more food options.

Loved the atmosphere and their potatoe canoes but that was about it. Service wasn't great, and the burgers were okay. I'd only go back for those potatoe canoes and their outside seating.

I've been here a couple times before and had only ordered drinks before but tonight I ordered a Moscow Mule for a drink and then the carne asada sandwich and salad for food. The Moscow mule tasted bitter and with no lime juice in it or Vodka for that matter, it tasted only of ginger beer. The sandwich and salad was ordered but not received until at least 30 minutes after I ordered it, so long so that I figured our waitress had forgotten to place the order, and I wish that she had. And although it was quite busy in the bar, there wasn't a ton of food that was being ordered... and or at least it didn't appear so as the kitchen seemed to be putting out a plate or two of food every 10 minutes or so. The sandwich and salad came out looking great, but the salad dressing that I ordered, bleu cheese, tasted like they added salt to it as it was ridiculously salty. Finally, the sandwich... why is it impossible to find a place that makes a great french dip or beef sandwich? The sandwich looked great at first until I cut it in half and asked myself, where is all of the meat? It was on a large hoagie roll so I opened it up and there were 3 bite sized pieces of meat on each side, followed by all peppers/onions and bread. I've never been so disappointed in a sandwich in my entire life... and for $13.00 I was even more so disappointed that I had to stop along the way home and eat something else, as I wasn't full off the sandwich and salad that I ordered. In terms of taste... the sandwich was drenched in hot pepper sauce, which wasn't bad but it was all you tasted, and with only a couple pieces of beef on there to begin with, you would think they could use all of the beef flavoring possible. So basically, after spending over $20 I left upset at my crappy drink and even more so upset at the terrible sandwich, and that I was still hungry. I won't be back, there are better bars in Edmonds with better food at them

This place has gotten way better, I think they have new owners! I didn't try their food, but the drinks were great, service was friendly, and I had a nice experience sitting at their outdoor patio. We'll be back!

  • Rebecca H.

Some great food, friendly service and an excellent breakfast buffet on football Sundays. The only complaint is the burgers... have tried 2 or 3 different burgers and they always come out of the kitchen well done despite my request that they be cooked medium rare. I recommend the pretzel sticks, street tacos or the turkey wrap. The fries are delicious and are on par with McDonalds fries.

  • Eric R.

Mai tai was very average.. Kind of bland. That being said, it was not overly weak, and I'm a complete snob since i spent 4 years living in Hawaii. They do have a happy hour every day from 3-6. They've got Longboard on tap, which Is awesome to see! Didn't try the food, but was a cool place for drinks.

    (3)
  • Terry D.

Really cool neighborhood bar. Great for watching sports with a group. TVs everywhere and great staff. The pepper burger + bacon was great and the hot wings were awesome. Teriyaki wings and nachos were both below average.

Update 8/19 - I am changing my review from two stars to three because the owner contacted me, and was very concerned with their service. We'll be heading back to have those tacos again soon. I'm giving this 2 stars because the first time we went there, it was ok. The first time, the service was ok, it was dead in there, so service should have been better. The food was better than we thought, but we werent expecting much. The second time we went, just about 4 days ago; the place was slow. Out of the 5 tables outside, two of them had people sitting. A hostess greeted us as soon as we walked up, followed us to a table outside, and gave us a couple menus, not bad. However, we sat there for 10 minutes, and she never returned. Only go here if you want to gamble with their service, and have mediocre food.

Fish tacos are a perfect blend of juicy cod, just the right amount of cabbage..not too much sauce. Cudos to Taki Tiki for taking me home to Cali if only for a moment:)

Good St. Patrick's day specials. Most excellent corned beef and cabbage chowder-to die for. Super reuben and Irish deviled eggs. Outstanding casual dining at its best. Super owner, manager, wait staff and chef. Thoroughly enjoyable dining experience. A real sleeper in downtown Edmonds.

This place is pretty much a must if you want to get to experience the Edmonds night life. They have good food, and pretty good drinks. There is plenty of TV's to watch the games! The decor is just as you would expect based on the name. I would say try this place out if you want to have an all around good time with your friends!

Came in for a drink with my date. Our waitress was very sweet and welcoming. I was disappointed with my strawberry margarita. I couldn't taste the strawberry very much and asked the waitress if they could fix it. She was very understanding and had them redo the drink. The service was great but the drinks were so-so. I didn't try their food. I love their outdoor seating, very fun and relaxing. If i go back ill try a different drink and do an update.

Fooseball foosball they have it, that's awesome. Laid back place with drinks and food, fun and free brunch on Sundays at least during the Seahawks season.

  • Carrie H.

Yes, the decor is really tacky, that's why it's called "Taki'! Reminds me of Oriental Trading Company Hawaiian themed kids parties. Think, plastic flamingos, leis, and plastic grass skirts. If that kind of decor doesn't bother you, read on... Good service, decent food, lots of TVs for sports viewing, frequent live music (Elias is my favorite), in a clean and kid-friendly establishment.

  • Nicole T.

This last visit to Taki was another disappointment in a long line of disappointing evenings at this bar. The theme is cute or whatever but the atmosphere of "fun" isn't there because of the bad service and staff that can't be bothered to give a crap. 1) Don't even bother with the food unless you like overpriced bone-dry chicken hunks 2) Staff stands around bs-ing/chatting while you wait at the bar for them to notice you (and then don't even ask if you want to start a tab) 3) Getting plain Jager shots while getting billed for Jager bombs (seriously did you even train as a bartender) 3) Last call at 12:30am?! 4) Our only table-side service was the staff booting everyone out at 1am. On a Friday night. This place sucks. There are plenty of other great bars in Edmonds with tasty food and drinks. I certainly wish we had not left one of those bars to give this another chance. Don't repeat my mistake.

This was my first time going out in Edmonds- not a bad place to be on a Saturday night... in Edmonds. I tried the happy hour lettuce wraps which were nothing out of the ordinary. My friends and I had a good time in the back with the foosball table, though! It was pretty packed as the night went on and there were multiple tvs around to watch various sports channels. Not an excellent place to pick up potentials, though, just saying...

    (3)
  • Kelton H.

Despite the very tacky decorations, the food is good! I had a burger and my dad had the fish tacos for lunch. There were only two other customers and it was around 2:30pm. My burger was pretty good but the fish tacos were definitely better. I'm looking forward to my next visit when I get the chance

Loud sports bar with TVs everywhere. The TVs are unavoidable. I ordered a mai tai, which was nasty bitter. I've experienced some poorly mixed tiki drinks before, but this one was something totally different, like accidentally using bar cleaner for mai tai mix.

They have Kona Brewery beers. This makes me happy. Their food is decent, and the ambiance in the place - definitely tacky.

Review #3 from my 'night out in Edmonds' This place delivers. The name don't lie, it's SO. DERN. TACKY. Go to a party supply store, walk to the "under the sea" section. Buy everything they sell (in bulk). Staple it to the walls. Get a bunch of beer/liquor paraphernalia. Staple that to the walls (and ceiling). Find rowdy drunk people, point them to this place. What do you get? A Very Taki Tiki Bar. Yep. This place was across the street from The Loft (see review #2) and couldn't have been more different... Edmonds, you baffle the crap out of me. How did you get so wierd?

On Saturday or Sundays, they are usually out of most popular menu items. You always have to wait for a refill of your beer. The ownership/management is novice at running a food/bev establishment. A typical response from a server is: "sorry for the delay; I'm the only working the floor". They just come as for what you want and leave. There is no friendly "chat" or suggestions for food & beverages. They just need to get your order and to the next table. The management is really friendly; they just need to not cut the labor (servers) to the point that they make people not want to come back. The food is disappointing for the price, and the kitchen (somewhat visible from dining area) looks dirty. The whole place could use a good cleaning. I have tried numerous items on the menu, but when you can screw up a quesadilla, then it's beyond help.

This place has the best wings yet that I have found in the Seattle-Tacoma region. All the food that I have tried is excellent and consistently prepared. Our first time there Danielle was our server and she was outstanding. We went back the next day and had an equally enjoyable experience with Julia. Highly recommended!

  • Clark D.

I've noticed the food has gotten a lot better recently and actually the tacos are excellent. Also, the drinks are strong and their beers are served in frosted mugs, which is a direct path to my heart. This my favorite bar in the area, much better than Rory's.

    (5)
  • BLD D.

Never again. I believe in second and even third chances. Unless you are standing at the bar, or odering multiple rounds of alcoholic drinks, do not expect to be waited on what so ever. Had to ask to order, had to ask for pop refills(by going up to the bar because the waitress was never by the table to check on us.) The food was occationally pretty good, but this last time to top it off, our meals really where quite bad.

  • D P.

I had a good time dancing the night the DJ was there. But another day I took a friend out for burgers and learned that they can't cook. Our hamburger meat was charred to death. Not a drop of juice left in it. Nasty. Oh and the Oldies music... Blah.

While The Loft was our top choice for lunch, we found out they weren't open (it was about 2 or 3 I think) so we popped over to Taki Tiki. It had been a place I had wanted to check out for a while and it seemed like a good time to try it. We started off with some mai tais and an order of teriyaki wings. The mai tais were pretty darn tasty and were really refreshing... plus, they got you in that tropical vibe. While we ordered the wings first, they actually didn't show up until after our entrees which was a bit irritating, but the wait was worth it... the wings were so tender and the teriyaki glaze was the perfect amount of sweet. I wouldn't have minded a little heat, but they were definitely the highlight of the meal. Our entrees were all pretty unremarkable. I know I had a sandwich of somekind.... maybe it had chicken? Or fish? Whatever it was it was fine, but nothing special. Maybe my sandwich was a burger? The fries were similar to the sammich... fine. The salad one of my friends ordered was the only thing that was actually finished. She said it was really tasty and it had a nice piece of tender and perfectly cooked chicken on it. I really don't recall what my friends had... Maybe it was a pulled pork sandwich I had? Not sure I'd go out of my way to come back but it was a pleasant enough experience and I actually really enjoyed the atmosphere. Sure its tacky, but I thought that was the point?!?! Unmemorable food but tasty drinks!

  • Corey G.

Made it here as a back up (since Rory's was packed due to UFC---what the heck???). Since we were in "Hawaii", I had a mai tai. We shared an order of Teriyaki balls, and they were mighty tasty. While waiting for my meatloaf sandwich, we listened to a ukulele singer Hawaii-fy all kinds of contemporary songs (I liked the Neil Diamond and Gordon Lightfoot songs). This place served its purpose for our evening.

  • Lucie L.

I came here today spontaneously wit one of my super close girlfriends and loved it! The bartender was the nicest guy and it was cheap. The best part was I noticed it felt like home from the moment I walked in. It was so chill! It was pretty busy for a wednesday night! but we were taken care of ;)

    (5)
  • Stephanie C.

Not my favorite. I love the decor and the people are friendly... but our last experience there just doesn't cut it. The HH prices were decent.. the portion size not so much. The drinks were okay. Aside from the pretty bright lights in a dark, dead, weeknight in Edmonds.. nothing makes me excited about this place. Maybe I'll be back for dinner or something, but I definitely won't go out of my way for this place.

(2.5 stars) Perhaps one of the only Tiki Bars I've ever been to that played nothing but Big Band music. I possibly could have distracted myself from that if their Free WiFi had been functional at all, but it wasn't. That left me just staring at the table-side touch-screen Entertainment(?) panel (that seemed to little more than let you look at pictures of their food) while we waited, and waited, and waited for our server to come over and just take an initial drink order - in a place that otherwise had less than 15 people in it for the 4pm cocktail need. Not that when our server finally found us he wasn't nice - just really, really, really slow. We opted for a light snack. We won't be doing that again. But here is why you might want to consider a stop-in: Really Cheap Pitchers of Beer. In the $9 to $13 for decent stuff.

    (3)
  • Richard T.

Went here for drinks on a Thursday night. I just ordered a pitcher of beer so nothing to talk about there. Service was good, waitress came by now and then to check up. I didn't enjoy the lighting, I don't know how to explain it but it just felt a little uncomfortable was all. We also order some appetizers during the happy hour period. We chose to get: taco boats, tater tots, and a caesar salad. The tater tots were served with a salsa dip, only complaint was that for five bucks, they could spread a few more tots in there. The same applied for the taco boats, I also didn't know what made them 'taco.' If you've had potato boats at Applebee's, it's comparable to that. The order came with 2 boats for five bucks, which again I think could be better portioned. The salad was great, good portion and tasted like I would expect. I've been here to watch football games and we had a great time then. I'll probably only come here to watch games in the future.

Love taki tiki! Come here many times for beers, never got any food, so I cant speak to that. But this is always a great place to hang out!

    (4)
  • Ken S.

The menu has changed and improved considerably over the last few months. Amazingly family friendly atmosphere for what is essentially a community sports bar. Expect the service to be a little slow on Friday and Saturday nights, but that's to be expected because this place is really popular for the locals.

    (4)
  • Tarah M.

Decor is cheesy, but what do you expect at a place called TakI Tiki? More like TACKY Taki Tiki. Service is decent but I've certainly had better. My pet peeve is having to wait forever to have my water glass re-filled then getting "the look" when I ask if I can have a pitcher of water for our table. I can fill my own damn glass if you're that busy chatting with your pals in the back. Drinks were okay and I did enjoy a little fruity cocktail that tickled my fancy, hence the 2 stars. However, it didn't make up for the food which was positively awful. Malaysian chicken was overly cooked and dry...bleh. Wild rice pilaf was not seasoned..blah. Fish tacos needed more fish and less cabbage and their sauce had the consistency of watered down tartar, ick ick ICK. Did not enjoy. Was enticed to come here on 2 separate occasions for an engagement party as well as a welcome home/rehearsal dinner. If forced to come here again, I will gladly steal my pitcher of tap water and save my appetite for a more appealing establishment.

  • Keith B.

It's not a bad spot, but nothing that's going to wow you. What you see is what you get. It's corny, there's some tacky flair all over the walls, and the service is mediocre. I actually did enjoy the food somewhat, I'd actually even say it's above average for bar food. I do enjoy the many TVs around the bar and dining area, so if you're into sports, it's a decent spot. I guess why it doesn't get more than 3 stars is that it's much like any other place you'd find that has beer on tap and TVs showing whatever sports are on. It is a little bit overpriced, and again, the service isn't very good, either. They've got a good selection of girly drinks, too, if you're into that sort of thing.

I'm a strong advocate of rating businesses based off of my expectations for that business and also that particular category. So, when I got to a Pho restaurant, I expect good pho and don't really care about service or ambiance. If I go to a finer dining establishment, say a steakhouse, I expect primo customer service, carefully thought out and well executed food and a good dining atmosphere. That said, if I go to a bar named "A Very Taki Tiki Bar," I'm expecting a very tacky tiki bar. AVTTB meets, nay exceeds, said expectations. Expect exactly what you picture upon hearing the name and you will be satisfied. Good for drinks with friends, complete with leis on the chairs and tiki torches all around. I've never had dinner here, nor do I think I ever will... but I enjoy the appetizers and shared plates that I have had, including the flatbread. Nom.

A+++ for the Mai Tai drink during happy hour. Fantastic! Food? Forget it. $8.00 for a "chili dog" that was barely warm and barely had any chili on it. It comes with a pack of potato chips. Husband had a burger dip which was a fairly think piece of beef, a piece of cheese, and au jus. French fries? We were hoping for house made but, alas, they are frozen from a bag. We may try this again but next time it will just be drinks. No food. TV's all over the place and the speakers were turned up way, way, way too loud (which is always a sign of bad food). They did turn them down after we asked twice. Also, I want to be doubly careful in someplace where they are cleaning the kitchen (grill hood, hood over where food is brought up and placed for waiting, etc.) WHILE they are in there preparing food. Really? I don't think so.

I met up with a friend here on a weeknight for dinner and drinks and we practically had the place to ourselves. We both had Mai Tais and they were delicious and strong. If you come here get a Mai Tai! I had a pulled pork sandwich type deal and it was pretty good. Not stellar, but good. This is a kitschy place and I did think the decor was fun. The service was friendly but slow, considering we were the only people in the joint. Overall this place is decent - it seems like it's pretty laid back for an Edmonds night life spot which I appreciate.

I was pleasantly surprised by the food after hearing through the rumor mill that the food is not good. My family enjoyed the wings, burgers and chicken sandwich. This place gets a bad rap for no reason. Good beer selection and several sports on the multiple TV's. I'll be a regular with my family.

Simply put. Taki Tiki is a fun place to go. Lunch or Dinner. The people are nice, the food is good and the ambiance cant be beat. My friends and I like to go here and thumb our noses at the uppity joint across the street. The Turkey Devonshire is pretty dang good. The wine a bit $ for a glass, but they have good beer on tap!

  • Woody S.

I've been to the Tiki several times during the last six months or so... Everything that everyone has said about the tacky decor is true. But, then, that's sort of the point. My biggest complaint is the staff. Sure, they are friendly to the regulars. But, there's almost a high schooly "clique" thing going on there. If it's busy at all, and you're not in tight with the bar tender, give up on ever getting a refill on your drinks. I pretty much have to elbow my way through a wall of people just to get a refill. And there are waitresses, walking around, who are supposed to be taking care of you. What the hell?!? Anyway, at a nicer place, you put up with that. But in a hole in the wall like Taki Tiki, you just mosey down the street to Rory's...

A few weeks ago I wrote a review while I was still angry & disappointed at the service I had received. It wasn't the first time, but it was always the same employee. In hindsight, I wish I had calmed down first, & spoken directly to the management in person. I have been going to the Taki Tiki for 5-6 years now. The food has greatly improved. Each time I have received poor service, it was the same employee. Most of the staff has done a good job, and are usually friendly & attentive. The Taki Tiki has a great location, and it has what its supposed to have... a laid back & casual environment where the locals can hang out and catch up.

Recently, I'm in Edmonds once or twice a month on business, and I've found myself eating here four or five times over the past several months. Downtown Edmonds has a quaint little village atmosphere, and appears to have many fine restaurants. But here's my problem: When I'm traveling alone, I feel weird going into a nice restaurant and eating dinner by myself. I imagine everyone in the restaurant whispering, "Hey, look at Mr. Bean eating dinner all alone, reading a book. What a freakin' loser." A Very Taki Tiki Bar and Grill is a sports bar with a tiki bar theme. I can go there, crack a book, keep one eye on the midwestern NCAA basketball game that I don't really care about, order a blackened salmon Caesar salad and a pint of pale ale, and not feel like the lone solo flier in a room full of couples. This joint seems to have been established by someone who decided from square one to dispense with any pretension whatsoever. The decor is a riot of palm thatch, surfboards, Seahawks, Huskies, and related Dude-stuff, but absolutely not the way it would look if some interior designer were to try to create a tiki/surf/sports theme. It's kind of cool in a random, "who cares?" way. The service has always been friendly.

Super fun and friendly enviornment and also a great place to watch games!! It has at least 6 flat screen T.V's which make it really fun. And the fun theme of Hawaii never make it boring. Severs also as nice as ever, smile friendly service!

Don't walk in here expecting a 5 star dining experience. It is call "A Very Taki Tiki Bar And Grill". Chill place to hang out and have a few drinks and above average bar food. Drinks are pretty strong and reasonably priced compared to the drinks I've had in Seattle but the appetizers are a little bit more pricier. I would recommend the kobe beef burgers and they'll sub out or add anything you'd like to it. Lots of TVs if your a sports fan. Diverse crowd. Young and the old hanging out. Usually beer pong nights are when its a younger crowd. They do special nights where its get pretty packed. Live Hawaiian band are the best night here. They also have a facebook fan page to keep you updated on all events.

I love Edmonds. And I love to have wonderful restaurants that do well here. I am just not a fan of this one. And I LOVE anything Tiki/Hawaiian. But what it comes down to is the food. Its not usually hard to get a bad burger and fries, but you wont get a good one here. I might give it another try soon, it has been there for over a year now, Ill let you know. Im not excited though.

My review is totally biased because my wedding photo is on the wall.

We snagged one of the tables right next to the sidewalk, which is a great location, so we had a good time. Drinks were meh and food portions were too small. Decor was fine, especially given how the place advertises itself, but "tacky" does not mean overpriced, just-okay food.

Often this is the venue of choice for the Friday with coworkers after work thing... Why is something I haven't figured out yet. Yes, the decor is tacky...(I kinda like it in that regard). It's casual and friendly which fits Edmonds to a T. Sports fans would love it. Lots of TVs with the game(s) on and buxom young ditzes bringing you beer. (Maybe that last parts is why my coworkers like it.) I demand a bit more from any establishment with the name "Bar" in it. a) The beer must be cold enough - it's not. b) There must be a nice selection of top-shelf vodkas and/or gins- there's not...Wall liquor consists mostly of mainline rums, tequilas, and whiskeys (no surprise there with the "vibe" of the place). c) The waitstaff MUST know the liquors/beers/wines in stock (or at the very least what's on-tap). Advice to owner/staff: When asked, and you you DON'T have the PBR ordered...KNOW this...and RECOGNIZE what I'm after...Make another suggestion for a cheap, light-bodied, domestic draft beer...DON'T hand me a menu of your micro-brew beer-list, smile, and bounce away... Don't get me wrong...the micro-taps are diverse enough - there's bound to be something for any local-micro-drinker. Be prepared to wait a while though... Me? I'm simple...I just like cheap beer and vodka...NOW! In this regard, this establishment fails miserably.

My husband and I are huge fans of A Very Taki Tiki. The drinks are fantastic (especially when Bryan makes them :)) and the food is great, especially the Kobe beef burgers. I have tried other things to eat there and have thoroughly enjoyed everything, but I always come back to the saute burger. Strong drinks? You got 'em. Good food? You got it. Good happy hour? Yep, you got that too. Bryan and Rick, keep on doing what you do!

My boyfriend and I went here on a suggestion from our favorite computer guy Mark Wolfe, at A2Z Technology. Anyway... We love Hawaii and being here is nothing like being in Hawaii.. But it's nice because of the lei's. The thing I am dinging this place for is that they only have ONE booth. What's with that?! Who enjoys sitting in a chair as opposed to a booth? That's my gripe. Their fish and chips is freakin' awesome and you will need to order more tartar sauce. Fries are good. Drinks are good, too. I had an Edmonds Almost Sunset or something silly like that. It was tastey. :-D We will go back here.

We stopped in on a slow Saturday afternoon for beers and a quick lunch. There was only the bartender, who was very sweet but not the speediest we've seen. However, the pulled pork sandwiches were AMAZING! Also, the ahi tuna wrap was quite delicious! Although we were expecting a divey tacky bar, it's clean, well-lit and with enough tack to be cheeky. If in Edmonds again, we'd definitely return!

I have been waiting for this place to finally open and no that it did my hopes of having a new spot to hang have been dashed on the rocks. It might be a fun place for the kids to go drinking but I was hungry. The menu is odd with microwave velveeta, fried bologna, and spam throughout. In fact you can get spam kabobs and Dom Perignon for $125. The decor started off as beach tiki but was taken over by cheap beer advertisments. They do have some drinkable tap knobs but couldn,t get a mojito because they didn't have mint.

******** Please read the EDIT at the Bottom of Page!! ******** Hmmm. I heard the owner was really, really..... Really excited to open this place. Sort of a labor of love thing. So I wish I could give it more stars! But........... (lots of dots. Not a good sign) ...................... Except that I can't. Brightly lit. Overpriced. Didn't like the food choices. And, well, I'm not really into 'tacky' . worst of all, ...... oh no! here it comes! ....... There was lots of spam. (The Original SPAM- the Mystery-Meat-In-A-Can, Spiced Ham Variety) Brought to you in lots of ways! However ...... If YOU like Spam, You will really like it here! Even more if you like to pay fairly inflated prices for it! Spamalot! Spam, spam, spam-spam-spam. spammity spam spam. Would you like some Spam with your Spam? Have some with your hot dog. Or your expensive meat selection. Or even your overpriced beverage. Feeling daring? Try fried bologna with the dom perignon. Note: It doesn't matter what you order-- when you finally get it, it will still come in that ratty, tacky little plastic basket...... ******* Ready for the EDIT??? ******* GO, Taki Tiki Bar!!! 4 Stars for You!!! I Love It when People Listen to their Reviews! They Obviously have, and they have REALLY IMPROVED!!!! I will eat there again- almost anytime! In the evening. I grudgingly went there twice in one week for 2- yes, count them, TWO Birthday parties in September. Remembering my past experiences, I ate before I went here. But they have changed the menu! Food is pretty good now, they have changed the menu and there were plenty of completely edible things to choose from-- not just meat and chicken skewers and other dishes, but salads like a Caesar with Shrimp, pineapple, coconut & mango chunks. Yes: they still had that bizarre fried bologna (YUCK!) and Spam with Dom Perignon. I personally find this GROSS beyond words!!! [ No, not the Dom Perignon ;-) ] ** However, I may finally have some insight on the whole Spam, Spam Spammity-Spam Spam thing. After some lively talks with My Dad (who grew up in Hawaii as a boy), and some other Hawaiians, it seems that Hawaiians have a particular/peculiar fondness for Spam like NO ONE ELSE. Kind of like Aussies do for Vegemite. ** So, okay...... I will back off on my criticism for the Terribly-Terrifically-Taki-Tiki-Bar. They have absolutely improved! Go there, have some good food. Have fun with your Friends. Just avoid the fried bologna if you are over the age of 5. And smile at the Oriental Trading Company decorations- the Taki plastic baskets and scratchy fake Hawaiian Leis, (sorry, Dad!) Really, they are kind of cute, in their own way. ;-) p.s. One comment I still have in the negative column is: they still play Sports on several tv's WAY TOO LOUDLY!! It's truly Ridiculous.

I don't really like phony Hawaii-inspired places but my friends wanted to meet here for a girls night. Besides, I figured, since they claim "taki" in their bar name, at least I could go there with that expectation, i.e., I don't think they're trying to be an "authentic" Hawaiian bar. First impression: Very exaggerated Hawaiian theme as expected (if you're going to CLAIM tacky, BE tacky!), awesomely huge big screen tvs and very mixed clientelle as far as age and ethnicity. I thought that they did a good job with their menu - from their selection of Spam items (which is practically a Hawaiian staple) to the kahlua pork nachos (very good). Their happy hour is also worth trying. Only thing I didn't really like - and we may have caught them on a bad night - neither the bartender nor our server was warm or very friendly - those are traits that I think should be required at any bar, tacky or not. In spite of this, I'll probably give it another go.

My mom and I visited this place last fall, and yeah, I'm pretty tacky myself, so I was DELIGHTED from the moment I walked in the door. I love the decor, I could spend hours just staring at the walls, and always finding something new to look at. I can't wait until the weather improves this summer so I can go down there when they have the big metal garage door open and outdoor seating. I was really nervous about trying the spam sandwich, but I found that I thoroughly enjoyed it, even took home leftovers to make the roommates try! So we sat right next to the big garage door and got a horrible draft so that we had to keep our jackets on the whole time, and there were some really rowdy sports fans at the bar that repeatedly screamed so loud I wanted to cover my ears, but those are the only negatives I can think of for this place. I really hope it takes off and becomes one of those hometown hangouts like the other bar (Rory's) owned by the same people.

Its a very fratty tiki bar! It was busy, and the drink were strong. Its good that the drinks were strong because the food was awful. The service was slow and they got our order screwed up. Which may have been a good thing based on how the food tasted once we got it. Everything comes in little plastic baskets with rolls of paper towels on the table. I think its met to look tropical, but it just looks shabby. And P.K: They still have no mint for the Mojitos... Update (7/5/07): I've been back a few times since my last review. This place really does grow on you. The staff is friendly and the decor is still shabby, but its fun to take friends and drinks are still strong. The food isn't great, but its a Tiki bar, so I really need to get over it and eat somewhere else.

My God, this is the worst bar I've ever been to. WORST. SERVICE. EVER. I came here with my fiance for a co-worker's going away party-- the group was pretty small, but somehow, everyone's orders got messed up. I ordered 3 things: a Coke, a gin & tonic, and a plate of teriyaki meatballs. She got ONE thing right-- the gin & tonic, which was weak. The Coke was diet when we ordered regular. The meatballs never showed up. What shouldn't have shown up was the tip, but I'm kind of a softy.

Had gone there a few times right after they first opened and was not impressed by the food. The burgers were borderline awful. Went back the other day just to have a beer and watch football, and the menu was unrecognizable! Tons of choices and all the burgers are now half-pound kobe beef, cooked to order, and still for around $10 (a smaller option would be nice, that's a lot of beef!). Service is friendly and the atmosphere, well, the name says it all. I personally like it, it's fun. During the day it's family-friendly, too. Weekend nights it can get busy and loud.

What a disappointment at the Tiki tonight. We usually enjoy grabbing a drink or two and watching a game with friends. Tonight we stayed and had dinner. We ordered 2 beers and a glass of wine during happy hour but didn't get the happy hour price on our bill. We did order some drinks after happy hour, but they all got charged full price. We watched a waitress continue to make faces at customers as she walked away from other tables. One of our party heard her grumbling at the bar as she entered the order into the register system. I guess the customers were an inconvenience to her. My steak sandwich was ok, but the Chicken tortilla soup tasted like canned soup lacking in fresh flavor. It's not a difficult soup to make, but it showed how little effort that is put into the food. They could sure use someone to come in an bring some passion and effort into the food items. How hard is it to use fresh cilantro, dip fish into home-made batter instead of the frozen breaded or dipped fish. I'm always surprised at how little effort some places put into some easy, low technical touches you can do with food, with little to no skill. Maybe the location is allowing them to do well financially, but the effort put into the food and service needs help. We did get good service at the ar and the young women at the bar was helpful and attentive.

We went on a thursday night, service was fine. We went to get out of the house and its close. Taki tiki definately met our expectations. We tried the pulled pork pizza which was very tastey and the blackened salmon with rice pilaf. I must admit the rice was not excellenr being that it was undercooked but i would definately go here again. There are nice lil touches like leis you could wear while you are there and the decor is very fun as well. To those complaining about the service, i'm guessing that they are one of those self serving jerks who never have worked in a restaurant and treat the staff like crap. Taki tiki overall is fun and a decent dining place.

Very fun atmosphere, but it can get pretty crowded at night. The best time to go is when they have live music. The food is surprisingly good, but table service can be a bit slow.

Some random lady overheard me and my friend talking about dinner while waiting for my glasses and recommended this place. The food was better than I expected - we shared a chicken nacho and I had halibut taco. I was pretty happy with the food & price, so I thought I'd go back to try a few other interesting looking items on the menu. A few hours after dinner, I got very very sick. I thought the halibut was fully cooked- even if it weren't, my stomach is a veteran sushi/sashimi handler, so I don't know what it was. Maybe it was the really funky tasting diet Coke. I don't know. But, I definitely know that I'd be really scared to go back.
