This place has horrible food. First off, they overcooked all of our steaks. For a steak house, you need to know how to cook a steak. One of the steaks came out well done. Extremely tough; it was like cutting into a tire. The server had the nerve to tell us, "No, that's not well done, that's Medium". She then told us they ran out of steaks. Not sure how that happens at a steak house. Both service and food here are absolutely horrible. Not only were the steaks bad but also their sides. We had a party of 13 and not one person enjoyed their entree.

I was truly not happy with my experience at the Santa Fe Steakhouse. Every year we go to the Wobbly Barn Steakhouse and this year we thought we would give Santa Fe a try. The salad bar is pretty pathetic compared to what you get down at the Wobbly Barn. Also, the only option with your steak is Garlic Mashed potatoes, usually this is fine, but they taste absolutely disgusting. Not very happy at all and will not be back.

Great steak, good service and nice decor. What more can you want? Santa Fe Steakhouse is a winner. Possibly the best restaurant on the access road.

We had a $50 credit to the Santa Fe Steakhouse, and having been there a few years ago, we figured we would hit it up again. The last time we were here, there was not much memorable besides the drunken ride home, but after this visit, we might have to try a new steakhouse on our next trip to Killington. We made a reservation earlier in the day, and when we arrived, they had nothing under our name (the 3rd time that happened today, the hostess mentioned). They were able to seat us immediately as it was not very busy, so the lost reservation didn't really influence my rating. What did influence it was the prime rib I ordered. I just don't understand how when you order a piece of prime rib cooked medium rare, it comes out on the slightly north side of medium? I mean, if I can tell before I cut into it that it's overcooked, can't the chef? Or the server? Never mind that its a roast, and they can just cut off another slab for me. And if you don't have any more medium rare left, then just let me know when I ask "do you have any medium rare cuts left?" I figure for $35, it should be cooked close to accurate. I would have even settled for medium...but this was close to medium well. Very disappointing. We also had the maple chicken which was ok. Not horrible, but not memorable either. The skin was crispy and sweet, so that was tasty, but the rest of the meat was just a little too sweet. After a few bites, you felt like it was a chicken dessert. I do have praise for the corn chowder which was really good. If I had a time machine, not only would I be rich, but I would travel back and order just a few bowls of that chowder. And the cornbread was damn good. Corn seems to work well for this restaurant... I wish that prime rib was cooked right. That would have made this a strong 4 star review, but it just let me down.

Food , food , food - please do something here ! We ate twice since we stayed in the hotel , both times were below the average The service is very good , the location (for us) was great , friendly for kids , nice atmosphere ... But food ... I got a cold steak (in the place called steakhouse ) and I have a feeling they just warmed it up in microwave when I returned it back :( We are spoiled coming from NY , but still ... some average level would be nice

Steaks were fatty and absolutely not good which was surprising because we have been to Santa Fe Several times over the years and although the athmosphere is stuck somewhere back in 1987, the food is usually pretty good. Maybe this was just a bad night. So I feel a little bad giving only two stars review but felt compelled since it was realy THAT bad. Service was lousy too. Server was nice but forgot about us. One high note was the live music in the lounge. Excellent!

Two out of four of us enjoyed our meal. Two people ordered roasted chicken with a maple syrup glaze. They were very unhappy. It was dried out. Like it was cooked a day earlier and re-heated to the point of being inedible. They asked the server for some sauce on the side. Not worth $22. Two of us ordered seafood. I ordered paella, which had some heat and was a generous portion for $30+. The other adult ordered pan seared scallops. The seafood was good. The salad bar was very good. I filled up so much on salad, I brought most of my paella back to my room. It tasted just as good the next day.

I went on a Saturday, with a party of 7. We had a reservation prior. The waitress service was OK. Although, I had to ask her three separate times what kind of Tequila the restaurant had till I got the answer. She was busy, so this happens. The main issue was our food order. We probably place it around 8:20 pm and it took a very long time to come. We were constantly asking questions on its status, but we got the same answer each time- that the kitchen was very busy and our food would be out soon. At one point we were told that our food being being placed on the tray and would be right out. This was a lie, as it didn't come out till 20 minutes later. End result, we walked in at 8:15 pm and didn't receive our food till about 10 pm. Someone in our party ended up speaking to the manager. He gave excuse after excuse on why our food was so late. Instead of offering to take a portion of our bill off, we had to ask. He gave us 25 % off the food. This same issue was occurring around the tables around us as well. People were very frustrated.

It was the worst steak we've ever had. I ordered lamb chop, it was way overcooked. My husband ordered a prime rib which came cold and sort of tasted like it was boiled. The waitress asked how I wanted my lamb cooked, so I told her medium rare. It came well-done. I don't even know why she even bothered to ask. The went to Santa Fe because it was a walking distance from the hotel. We'd never go back for sure.

FYI if anyone wanting to eat here, don't go on Monday. "The truck" doesn't come until Tuesday so if have busy weekend everything becomes smaller...choices, serving sizes, and freshness. Even no garlic butter on their signature rolls was missing. By far one of most disappointing dining experiences (and expensive) I have had here at Killington!!! On plus side: company, wine (Argentine Lattitude 34 malbac), and service(she was honest) was excellent!!! You know it's a bad meal when you can't cut through a baked potatoe with a steak knife. If zero stars was a choice that would have been what I posted.

I love this place...the music is awesome, the bar is the best in Killington. the food is great and my experience there has always been awesome.I'm not sure if other posters are looking for the 4 seasons...lighten up..it's a ski village, not NYC.

I had high hopes for this place. I got a Boston.com deal for "two steak dinners". Which was not the case. It turns out it is for $50, which wasn't on the deal nor the coupon. The steaks are about $30 each, so it really wasn't "two steak dinners" more like $50 off. (strike 1) The glasses of water, tasted like dish detergent...and they had dish detergent still in it (strike 2). Our waiter got us new glasses, but it wasn't a great first impression. Then we had the "salad" bar. Which wasn't amazing or anything to write home about, except that it had rancid pineapple. The salad also had been out all day, so it looked gross and had several pieces that were brown. (strike 3). The meal wasn't worth the price, which was grossly inflated. The steak was nothing special, with the same "Steak House" in the title, I was expecting something which resembled a steak house quality. Our waiter was a bit awkward, had issues remembering our drinks, specifically when we wanted refills, and was hanging around too much. Not his fault really, maybe he was lonely after working a 16 hour shift. He also messed up my girlfriends meal by giving her rice instead of mash potatoes. Again, not a big deal, but it wasn't really helping win us over. All these little things snowballed into us not enjoying our time. Even though the same family owns Caseys Caboose, we went there for dessert because we were having such a bad time at Santa Fe. The entire meal was 1 star worthy, but because they give airlines miles I'll give it one star. But, I've had better, which is why this place gets 2 stars. I wouldn't go back here.

Was there on Sat. Dec. 28, 2013. Food was awful and service was not much better. There were four of us. Bill was in excess of $300.00 which was ok. Two of us ordered paella. It was not warm, had very little rice, was tasteless and had no saffron! We asked for it to be re-warmed. It still back warm not hot. I asked for more saffron, and was told they had none. Who makes paella without saffron! We ordered a tart for dessert and asked for it to be warm. It came cold. I complained to the manager and asked him to comp our dessert. He said no. The waitress never asked how are meal was. Lousy food and lousy service. Food quality was like an Applebee's!

The restaurant was packed and backed up. we ended up eating in the bar area, which was ok. server was apologetic for long wait time. fillet was good , sirloin was pathetic for the price $34. price was adjusted. prime rib was just Ok. Disappointing for a place calling themselves a steak house. Way overpriced for the quality of the food. It seems the volume of people throw the restaurants off. just add staffing!

I gave one star as there is no half star. I have been a couple of times just in case my experience was just bad luck. It wasn't, the food and service is awful. Highly recommended as a place to never visit.
