My family has been skiing in Killington for years but had never stopped in to the Pasta Pot. We went on the coldest night of the year (waitress said it was so cold Vermonters' pipes were freezing, and they know cold) and sat by the roaring fire. We were the only folks in the place. I had their spaghetti and meatballs, which was very flavorful without being heavy. Two of the folks in our party got the Hunters Lasagna which was delicious. We found portions to be just right, not too much that you're bursting but enough to take some home for a snack after skiing the next day. As for prices, we know that going out to eat in a ski town in the winter won't be the most economical choice, but we found it worth it to enjoy the great food and support a local business.

This is a great, fun, cozy place to go after a long day of skiing. You can get a carafe of house red or white for $25 and enjoy any combination of pasta and traditional Italian dishes. It is exactly what you would imagine a Vermont ski town restaurant to look and feel like. You can walk from Turn of the River Lodge, so if you are staying there, have as much wine as you want. There is something for everyone as Pasta Pot has both a skier's and snowboarder's special. Plenty of vegetarian options as well. On a recent visit, I had the chicken parmesan/eggplant parmesan combo dish and it was delicious. Portion sizes are large, so you can share or take some home in a doggy bag. It's a little pricey, but with no drinks, you can get in and out for around $20/pp.

Tiny portions, terrible sauce and way overpriced. The bar tender bragged that the chef was from Staten Island. I have a feeling he was kicked out for his "authentic italian".

Was skiing in Killington the week of New Year's. We ate at the pasta pot three times that week. All three times the meals where exceptional, the staff was professional and friendly. Had the table overlooking the fireplace the ambience is incredible. Planning on going back skiing again in February will be back to the pasta pot for my kettle one martini up with a twist and more excellent dinners.

I am not sure how this restaurant has 4 stars?! The staff was very unfriendly and rude to our group. The broth with the mussels was horribly sweet, which is not a good combo. I also tried my fiancé's lasagna which was a bit better but not at all worth the $20. Not returning or recommending to anyone.

Way over priced. Small portions of seemingly frozen pasta dishes will cost you close to $20. Very friendly wait staff. Skip it unless you're desperate.

Fave restaurant & perfect after skiing or hiking food! Lovingly chef-owned & operated 39 years by 'Pasta Pete' who is amazing & along with the restaurant -- is quintessential Vermont. Pete is often seen (& heard) offering "how ya doin!" through the kitchen window from the bar area. They say everything is homemade and it tastes like it! We especially LOVE the antipasto and homemade balsamic vinaigrette, (even our 7 & 8 y-olds love the dressing! and soaking it up with the garlic bread), hunters lasagne = fantastic (if you like a yummy brown sauce), meat & chz lasagne, PIZZA = our fave anywhere --- something about their dough (they do throw it up in the air). I counted 12 different veggies on the antipasto last night. (surely their exact ingredients will vary). Dessert pies -- sourced locally -- also wonderful.

Hunter lasagna was outstanding shrimp with pesto was great too. Then there was the pizza I brought home to my boys. Best Italian food in a long time and great people Karen and paul Falmouth MA

Pasta Pete, Bartender Barb, and Waitress Heidi were all welcoming to this cozy, rustic gem. Bread was heavenly, minestrone soup was definitely homemade, mussels and eggplant did not disappoint.

Great cozy, homie, welcoming place after a day of skiing. The food is yummy and you get a generous amount. Really feel as if you are visiting a friend who has cooked just to make you happy. Does it really get better than that? The pictures aren't helpful as they really don't show the charm of this lovely restaurant. It's so much nicer than you can see, and the inside is far nicer than the outside shows. Don't miss this wonderful place. The waitstaff and owner really want you to have a nice meal and a nice evening.

The Pasta Pot isn't on the Killington Road for a good reason. When the Killington Road is packed you can always get a table at the Pasta Pot. Pasta Pete (the chef) is known for his mussels, chicken parm, and so much more. Atmosphere: I like the casual vibe at Pasta Pot with the melted wax candles and cozy fireplace. Good spot for sure with reasonable dishes and bottles of wine. Tip: Go here when everywhere else has a 45-minute wait.

I liked the rustic decor of the restaurant. Not fancy but very Vermont. The food was yummy. Good service. Would definitely go back next time we are at Killington

This place hit the spot after a cold below freezing day boarding in Killington... and right before a long ride back to NYC. Everything here is homemade (says the nice waitress) from their bread, pizza dough, meatballs, and many more. Upon entering, you immediately get smacked in the face with delicious aromas when you open the heavy dark wooden door. The food definitely hit the spot because we were so cold and hungry... and the fact that it was very homestyle suited our needs. We ordered the Chicken cacciatore with a side a meatballs, minestrone soup, and sausage/garlic pizza pie. The pizza was definitely the hit of the night while the chicken cacciatore was on the dry side and not at all memorable. However, because we were famished... we ate it and burped anyway. Very helpful and warm restaurant, which is what most Vermont establishments are.

The food is good and all the pasta is homemade. Stick with a pasta dish and you shouldn't be disappointed. Very small place, cozy atmosphere, nice staff. Was greeted by the chef through the window when we walked in.

I dot even like Italian but it was the best Italian I ever had. Excellent service and environment. Best lasagna (hunter lasagna ). Wonderful place to dine.

OMG, the mussels!!! Some of the best, ever, in the world. Dipped in their yummy garlic bread, totally divine. The pizza is fantastic; can't say enough about the hunter's lasagna, the lobster lasagna is extra delicious. Service is warm and friendly in this cosy environment, but not always the quickest. If your favorites are Applebee's, Friday's and the Olive Garden, this isn't the place for you. But if you want made from scratch Italian favorites, definitely a great spot. Especially after a long day of skiing, a hearty, classic Italian meal from the Pasta Pot is pretty perfect.

Every dish was lacking a crucial element...the garlic bread was missing garlic, the white clam sauce was missing the clam taste, it was absolutely bland! The hunters lasagna was ok but the venison that was supposed to be in the dish seemed questionable and the color of the sauce was rather dark like old blood. Not sure if it was the ambiance of the place or not, but the whole thing was creepy. We also ordered the world famous mussels that everyone was raving about but to me seafood and sweet taste is not a good match. The liquor that was used to flavor the mussels has a very sweet taste which throws off the entire essence of the mussels. To top it all off the server forgot the mussels appetizer order so we has it as dessert! Needless to say it wasn't a pleasant way to end already a terrible meal.

Large portions. The mussels were killer. Not super gourmet, but a very good value.

Family owned Italian restaurant. Standard pasta dishes plus some unique specials and sour dough based pizza's. The mussels marinara are really special, available in appetizer or entree size. Mussels come from PEI and are carefully picked over by the owner/chief, I have never had a bad mussel here! Served in a slightly spicy thin red sauce with a touch of anisette. The mussels are 5 star! Other interesting specials rotate through the menu including lobster lasagna with a vodka cream sauce and a hunters lasagna which includes ground venison in a brown sauce, very tasty! Usually have a $9.95 special of pasta. Full bar, wine list is generally good and not very expensive. Screened in deck in the back for summer dining, call ahead to confirm summer hours which usually run Thursday through Sunday, 7 days during the ski season.

Pretty good food- no glaring omissions like Jinny noticed. Families loved the restaurant dog/ floor cleaner. Volleyball is set up in adjoining field. Four or five tables were filled while we ate there. Portions were reasonable, no doggy bags for us.

This is a great restaurant away from the glitz of Killington Mountain. A great place to go for dinner after a long day on the slopes, the menu includes homemade soups, tons of pasta choices and great desserts. The Hunters Lasagna is the best-selling entree, consisting of bacon and venison layered over lasagna noodles in a hearty gravy-Jack Daniels sauce baked with lots of cheese. Seafood is delivered on Monday, and the specials advertise this - Seafood lasagna, with lobster, crab and langostinos in a creamy bechemel sauce. For dessert, try the chocolate brownie fudge raspberry swirl pie - an honorable mention in the Betty Crocker cook-off! Low key atmosphere, with a fireplace to boot.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
