Delicious, Delicious, Delicious... I have been back and forth to Memphis for the past 9 months and have tasted every Soul Food restaurant, I was presented with. With the exception of a few that I could not find. Phat Pat's has the simplest yet most broad menu. The restaurant is clean, modern, ample sized and friendly. I don't eat pork, so there are items I do not order. There are staples that I order because I love the taste. Candied yams is one... perfect taste, perfect color and perfect consistency. Mac n cheese.. I love baked mac n cheese..not my taste, as theirs is not baked. I have not found baked in Memphis, at all. Fried chicken was delicious..twice battered and cooked to perfection..well but not dry..not wet either. Whenever I get back to Memphis.. Phat Pat's will be one of my re-visit destinations. Thanks Phat Pat's for making my day. :)

Well what can I say. I hate to give a negative review because the people are awesome, but the food is pretty blah. The proteins are lacking any seasoning and thus no flavor. The sides are decent but that doesn't make up for the egregious lack of salt being used. With Southern Hands being right down the street I can't think of a reason you'd come here.
