Jimmy, you've got an eye for sandwiches. You've got a catchy commercial. I also enjoy the atmosphere of the restaurant. Nothing to complain about other than the employees... uh oh... I enjoy the gargantuan. I get it every time, and always the same way. Simply, "I'll have the gargantuan (pause for a second to remind myself that I'm not a giant mongoloid for ordering something named the gargantuan) with no onions, and add hot peppers." Not so complex, and it's always incredibly fast for a delicious Italian sandwich. Then I unwrapped the wrapper to find onions and no hot peppers. Hey, it happens. No biggie. I'll just pick the onions off and get the peppers on the side and throw them on there. No harm no foul, I spent like seven bucks. (Side note, my friend's sandwich was also made incorrectly from the order. They forgot to "Hold the cucumbers.") It's a fast food joint. They don't care. I get it. So here's my conversation with the guy behind the sandwich counter when getting the hot peppers: Travis: "Hey, can I get those hot peppers?" Bro-kid (Let's assume his name is something like 'Keith'.) "Awe! Um...*mumble excitedly with a smile!*" Travis: "...What?" Keith: *Goes off to find something. It's a cup* "We're not supposed to do this... Travis: "Do what?" Keith: "Look, you seem like a cool guy so I'll just put some on the side for you... but next time make sure you order them on your sandwich." *Smug look awaiting gratitude and thanks* Travis: "I'll spare you my opinion, Keith. Thanks for going out of your way." Keith: "Swag, YOLO, bro bro, twerk." That smug attitude....boy that burned me. How about next time your make the damn sandwich how I ordered it?! That being said, I love Jimmy John's and will certainly be back for my gargantuan... But I've always had a much better experience on Germantown Pkwy. Give me some love if you know what I mean when I say, "PICKLE!!!!!"

Good sandwiches here. I enjoy the Italian by Night sandwich. Bread is not too hard and everything just melds together with the vinaigrette. Why 3 stars? Because I think the staff is a little unprofessional. I was driving by there one night and was stopped at the light at white station and poplar. What do I see through the window? 2 employees slapping one another with towels, jumping all around behind the counter, and throwing bread at one another. They need to be more cognizant of the fact that a person on the outside can see very well into the shop when the lights are on and it's dark outside.

Not on par with some of the other sub shops in the area. Staff is friendly and helpful but the product itself is not as good as I expected. There is a lot of competition for the lunch sandwich business in Germantown and I'm afraid this one is towards the bottom of the list.

What's the common denominator of Subway, Lenny's and Jimmy Johns? The fact that you should never pay these places $5 or more for a sandwich, when you can make a better one at home. Save your money, and pull a sandwich together in your comfy kitchen. Today just confirmed my strict religious food belief of never paying for something as simple as a cold sandwich. I tried this location right when it opened, and I wasn't impressed. That was years ago. I tried it again today (yes, I know, my fault) because I wanted something different than what I usually get for lunch, and being that I only had 15 minutes left on my break, I just pulled up and ordered. I was like "what the heck, I eat chipotle, chick fil a, zaxby's, etc throughout the week on lunch, let me try this place again....its been years". Oh gawd why did I do that....? ugh! I ordered the #4 - Turkey Sandwich, and the chick made my sandwich in literally 1 minute. Like, by the time I made the transaction with the guy at the register, my sandwich was already on the counter ready for complete annihilation. I mean I saw her making the sandwich when I was ordering, but I thought, 'that can't be mine' because there were two people in front of me. Well, it was mine and the guy told the chick, 'you are speedy' - or something like that. I 'wasn't impressed' because my thing is, I wanted to think about other things I wanted on the sandwich, you know how it is at Lenny's and Subway: they ask you for other ingredients to accessorize your sandwich. Anyway, while I ordered, I told the guy that I didn't want tomato, and wanted hot peppers; but tomato and hot peppers is what I got on my sandwich. So to the chick that made my sandwich, thanks for speedily ruining the sandwich - listening is a very important skill. I know you probably thought that I would be impressed, but I wasn't. What, did you pull a 'returned turkey sub' from an hour ago out of the pile and add some hot peppers? I said no tomato, because I hate tomato; the hot peppers weren't hot, they didn't taste like anything. The menu said it came with sprouts, didn't see those on the sandwich....and these sandwiches have no cheese?! No cheese on a cold cut?? Who does that? Cheese makes everything happy! Don't waste money on cold sandwiches, if you just have to, go to Lenny's, at least you get cheese and you can orchestrate the condiments on your sandwich. These other reviewers need to calibrate their taste buds, nothing special about these bland sandwiches.

I've mentioned my hatred of Jimmy's before in previous reviews- it's not that there's anything particularly wrong with the place I just don't get the hype behind it. If there's anything I really dislike, it would be the bread. It's hard as a rock and the ratio of bread to sandwich items is a way off for me. However, today my husband insisted we stop here and I realized they now have lettuce wraps. This place just got an extra star and is now bearable. The sandwich choices are much more pleasing to my palette without all that crappy bread. Kudos Jimmy's.

I was out of town and ordered online from the hotel. I didn't know how this would work, or if it would. I choose as soon as possible for the time and it was delivered within an hour. The second time I chose a specific time in which it was delivered in the specified time frame. Good sandwiches especially when you are at a hotel without a car and that doesn't serve lunch. The delivery drivers were nice.

Before I moved to Memphis, a Jimmy John's had opened in my hometown, but I never tried it. I happened to stop here one day and one of the very friendly staff recommended the Italian Night Club. The first time I tried this sandwich, my face literally melted because it tasted so awesome. After reconstructive surgery, I am fine and have built up a tolerance for the deliciousness that is Jimmy John's. I have to admit that I have never tried anything else here because it seems completely unnecessary. I did try the same sandwich on their sliced wheat bread the other day and was quite pleased. The location is great, but the parking can be limited depending on when you stop in. The store is bright and clean and has some pretty funny signs on the walls. I highly recommend Jimmy John's, but I must warn you: you'll never be able to eat at another sub chain again after trying their sandwiches.

This is a good sandwich place. Service is fast and friendly. What differentiates Jimmy John's from other sandwich shops is the quality of ingredients. I watched an employee slicing meat and others freshening the toppings. The sub bread has a perfect chewiness with a little crunch, and my sandwich was excellent. Good menu selection. I'll be back.

I'm not bashing subway, but Jimmy John's can make a quick sandwich. My favorite is the tuna.YUMMY!Great employees and a place with a sense of humor. The signs on the wall are funny.I don't normally park my car in the JJ lot.Traffic sucks on poplar. So i choose to put my car in the shopping center and walk over.Enjoy.

Went to jimmy johns in Germantown and saw that they do not use gloves while making sandwiches. They told me it was not a health code violation and that "they wash their hands regularly". I find that sickening to my stomach! After worker made my sandwich, she wiped her hands on her buttocks. health code or not, wear gloves!

I love this place. 1 because they are fast as hell 2 because the Italian sub is awesome and the bread is always soft when I go 3 because they are funny...read all the signs there...and it's a deli people what the heck do you want from a deli place? I wish they would open one downtown.

So awesome -- if you can't do bread, you can now get a lettuce wrap. I got a B.L.T. wrapped in lettuce -- but you can get any sub the same way. Such a great option, and I just came across if after a hiatus from this place. They make a delicious Vegetarian sub -- the guacamole is amazing -- as well as the Pepe, I believe that it's called. And they deliver -- bonus!

Decent subs-I wish they served hot subs. Slightly overpriced but good.

Best of the quick sandwich shop franchises. If there is no line, you will have your sandwich as soon as your credit card transaction is done. Friendly staff, but not in a forced manner.

Was in Memphis when I decided to stop at Jimmy John's Gourmet Sandwiches for lunch. This is the first time I've seen or heard of Jimmy John's and thought this would be good opportunity to check them out. If you've been to a Togo's or Subway, you've been to a Jimmy John's. The two biggest difference between Jimmy John's and say a Togo's or Subway is #1 if you're too lazy to make a sandwich in your own home, Jimmy John's does delivery and #2 they offer 8" subs instead of your standard 6". Other than that, not really that much of a difference. Upon walking in, I was greeted by a nice large board with all the sandwich options. They have all your basics here, Turkey, Ham & Cheese, Veggie, etc etc, nothing on the board strikes me as "Gourmet". Also they don't do any hot sandwiches either. So I put in a order for your basic Turkey Sandwich Combo. You do get choice of either wheat or white but I am disappoint about their selection of veggies. Nothing but the basics. Places like Subway and Togo's offer you a better selection of veggies to add to your sandwich than lettuce and tomatoes. They do live up to their reputation of "fast food", but of course, this is a sandwich we are talking about, not much goes into it. So I got my sandwich and it was ok. It was your typical chain sandwich shop stuff. Overall for $7, I can't complain too much but personally think you're much better off at Subway or Togos for a cheaper sandwich with more options than Jimmy John's Gourmet Sandwiches. The people here was very friendly and pleasant to deal with and the place was clean, so I have to give them credit for that but the food here was underwhelming. Overall it's 2 stars. The sandwiches at Firehouse Subs down the street are better and cheaper but the staff there is bad. If you could have the staff of Jimmy John's and the food Firehouse Subs, then you'll have yourself a damn good sandwich shop.

So, right up front, I'll tell you that it was late at night (just saw the 3rd Hobbit movie - fantastic!) and my wife tells me I get a bit grumpy when I haven't eaten. However... This was our second choice. The Lenny's down the street closed early, so my wife suggested JJ's. We had tried this when they opened about ~6 years ago, and I was pretty disappointed in the choices and the sandwich, so haven't been back since. I ordered my sandwich (Vito on white) and noticed out of the corner of my eye that they were already making my sandwich while my wife ordered her sandwich and I paid. When were they going to ask me what I wanted on my sandwich? The answer? NEVER! So I get a sandwich with pretty mediocre meat (I'm used to the premium, freshly sliced meat from Lenny's), NO MAYO, NO MUSTARD, and NO PICKLES! I know! Right? (OK, it's just a sandwich, but remember, I was hungry and grumpy.) I asked him why he didn't ask me what I wanted on the sandwich, and said that I wanted mustard on the sandwich. He says (I'm not kidding), "We don't have mustard, we have Dijon." And THEN, he offered me some yellow mustard packets. I handed them back to him and said that I have some real mustard at home. BTW, the shelves behind the sandwich making area have literally DOZENS of jars of Dijon and Helman's mayo. I guess the reason that they have so many is that they never actually use them. Did I mention that I didn't get any mayo either? So this morning I go to Yelp and discover that this kind of "I don't give a c**p" stuff has been going on for years at this location. The management is completely to blame for not properly training their employees, and not establishing a culture of service. Next time I'm out of options and want a sandwich, I'll certainly NOT go to JJ's. BTW, the Jimmy John's feedback link on their corporate site doesn't work. (Gasp!)

The workers there did not tell me my food was ready and left me sitting there unknowingly and hungry until my food went cold. When I opened my sub I took a bite and found that they forgot to put mayonnaise on it. My sub was just bread, heaps of lettuce, and a slice of mediocre turkey that I could have found at Kroger. Not wanting to wait any longer than I already had, I brushed it off and continued to eat. However, I lost my appetite when I found a red hair in my sandwich (mine is blonde, so it wasn't mine), probably from one of the workers who did not have their hair safely put away; their hair wasn't even pulled back. I left the restaurant hungry and disgusted. The atmosphere did not seem clean either. I definitely was disappointed after hearing so many great things about jimmy johns.

Great sandwich! I would rate it higher than other sandwich chains except Firehouse, which I'm a big fan of. The bread here always seems really fresh and the service is super fast and friendly. The Italian is my favorite, the BLT is good, and my buddy swears by the tuna. Check it out!

I've been consistently disappointed with this location lately. It's one of the few delivery options for lunch in the area, so I'm forced to order from them often. They have consistently gotten my order wrong the last five times, at least. Sometimes it's small details, but some things are up-charged, like adding cheese to a sandwich. If I pay an extra dollar for the cheese, you need to add my cheese. Also, forget asking them to go easy on the mayo. I'm constantly scraping off globs of mayo with my fingers - and guess what- they never, ever send napkins. Shouldn't that be a restaurant standard? It's just frustrating to pay over ten dollars for a sandwich (after tip) that isn't worth it at all.

I've always heard such great things about Jimmy Johns so my bf and I decided to check it out last week and agree with all its praise! They really are SUPER speedy like thy advertise to be. I was in shock how quickly my sub was in my hand after I ordered it, like Lee hadn't even finished his order when I got mine... Crazy! The bread tasted like it just popped out of the oven and my turkey sandwich was great. Lenny's is still my favorite, but Jimmy John's is a close second.

Folks in my office order from here all the time, since it's right across the street, but they were just off their game today. Thirty minutes to deliver a sandwich is not freaky fast (I mean, did my sandwich spend all that time getting driven around to other stops?), and the delivery guy seemed more concerned with dashing back out to his car for his next stop than with making sure my co-worker got the drink she'd ordered. My lettuce wrap was not exciting -- roast beef, tomatoes, and mayo (and possibly more lettuce?) wrapped in wet iceberg. Come on, guys, at least dry off the lettuce so my wrap isn't dripping water! I was hungry, so I ate it, but it wasn't worth the $5.50 plus tip I paid for it. Next time I need quick bite, I'll suck it up and leave the office.

Ordered a sandwich, chips, and a pickle. I received a sandwich and a cup of water. Luckily the driver was nice enough to go back and get me the rest of my order.

Do you love shredded lettuce? I mean really LOVE shredded lettuce? Do you dream about hoagie buns bursting with big, billow-y bushels of the blandness? Then Jimmy John's is for you. Seriously, though, I thought I ordered a club but instead I got the Lettuce Lover's sandwich. I think there might have been a slice of turkey or two hidden in that heaping ball of flavorless, easter basket plastic grass. Not good. Not inedible. Quick? Sure. But then, so is buying a sandwich from the Mapco down the street. Doesn't make it good.

The main thing about Jimmy John's is that it's fast. I ordered here a couple of times. First time I got a Big John, which is pretty much a roast beef sandwich. The sub itself didn't have a lot of meat which was a bit surprising, but it was fast. I thought it had a little too much mayo as well. Maybe it's just me. The second time I got a JJ Gargantuan this time without mayo, and it was fast, and great. I recommend getting the sandwiches with the pickle, which is a large dill pickle cut into fours and goes great with sandwiches.
