Always a treat to visit; perform well with gatherings, office parties, etc. Nice bar area; customer service = A+

Had a late dinner at Flemings last week, and was absolutely blown away. Our server Steve was impeccable. I have been to Fleming's once before and loved every minute of it, but this visit was off the charts. My date and I started out with cocktails ( I knew exactly what I wanted... An old fashion... Which I am very picky about and they made it exactly how I liked it and I didn't even have to ask) she on the other hand had a few questions in which our server, Steve, was able to answer without hesitation. We looked over the menu a little and got caught up in conversation and put off dinner for a little bit and to my satisfaction was not bothered by the persisting/pushy questions of your average server saying "have you looked at the menu?" or "are we ready to order?" Steve picked up quite nicely on our non verbal cues as to when we were ready to order. After a few minutes, Steve promptly came to the table and took our order of several small plates, and before you could blink your eye our table was packed with a "shit-ton" of incredible food! We enjoyed every plate to the last morsel as the impressive wait staff almost immediately cleared each plate as we finished it. Patrick was the MOD for the evening and was a fantastic presence in the restaurant. He was incredibly personable and attentive. It wasn't the average robotic table visit where they hit every table in the section repeating "Hi, How was everything? Come back soon!" My date has been in the city for a little over a year and keyed the night as the best dining in Memphis that she has come across thus far. I will most definitely be showing my face here more frequently.

Small plates w fillet, scallops, short ribs and asparagus sides were great. Great service. My wife esp liked the short ribs. The desert w the lava cake was disappointing. A bit dry on the cake. The homemade ice cream was superb w the lava cake.

This review is for the happy hour special and bar only. If you have been before you know that you have to get there very close to 5 or you will wait for a spot. Seems to be a very popular happy hour. I have found the service at the bar to be stellar but we did have so-so service at a bar table last trip. For the money and even not just for the price the food is very good. The burger is great, the shrimp cocktail has large plump, well seasoned shrimp, the mushroom ravioli are awesome, the baked brie is very good, topped with honey and walnuts with apple slices on the side. They have great beer, wine, and martini specials and I would highly recommend it for happy hour between 5-7 but I wish less people knew about it because it can be crowded!

Yes, I like Fleming's...here, there and everywhere. But seriously, how can a place that sells $40 steaks have such a mediocre, second-rate, run-of-the-mill beer list? Wow, Blue Moon! Be still my heart! And one other thing...when you're done serving tables, leave. Nothing cool about employees "holding court" at the bar (note to manager). Note: A month later and the menu still has Widmer Hefeweizen listed..which they didn't have a month ago. One star removal.

Poopsie and I went last evening. We took advantage of their before 7 PM special at the bar. We had a few drinks, some food and all for just about $40. Poopsie had the sirloin burger. It looked really good and she said it was really tasty. $6. I had the carpaccio appetizer, it was good, but a bit bland. $6. I also had the ahi tuna appetizer and I liked it better than the carpaccio. $6. Had a drink and a glass of wine and Poopsie had a drink too. It was pretty quiet in there but it was early, 5PM. It did seem to be picking up somewhat, at least in the bar. Maybe everybody else was there for the $6 specials. I hit only two $$ in the Price Range part of the survey cause we stuck to the $6 specials.

The wife and I went to Flemings last night to celebrate her birthday. This was my second visit to Flemings and each time has been a really solid experience. The atmosphere is lovely and reminds me of Shaw's crab house in Chicago. Flemings has a really nice vibe to it. Also, you see a mix of ages in the ages of their customers which is nice. I'm surprised to see people recommend Butcher Shop over Flemings. To begin, Fleming steaks are dry aged and pack a ton of flavor. The sides are very good and the steaks are cooked very well. The service at Flemings is what you would expect to find at any high end eating establishment. Unfortunately, I believe Folks Folly and Butcher Shop do not measure up to the high standard steak house experience that others worte about on Yelp. If you're looking for a great steakhouse dinner option in Memphis Flemings is your place. I look forward to coming here again!

Fleming's is no lemming; original steak that takes the cake. I slice and dice and spear and oh dear, chew with delight! In fact, I had to fight the urge to do a When Harry Met Sally, Sallygasm over the steak cause I wouldn't be fake(n it.) ;-)

We dined at the above establishment twice. The overall experience was average. The only positive thing about Flemings is that it has got a smaller portions menu. The following things were ordered during our last visit: Lobster tempura with vegetables was crisp and had nice dipping sauces. Wasabi sprouts enhanced the flavour of the dish. It is an appetiser of a decent size and could easily be a main course for me. Fresh mozarella and sweet tomatoes salad was all right. Balsamic dressing was somewhat bland. Double think pork chop was nice-looking, but tough. It took some serious knife sawing to cut it into pieces. New Zeland Lamb Chops were all right, roasted tomatoes were just sour. Frozen lemon gingersnap pie was refreshing. Our waiter was overwhelmed running between the tables he was assigned to serve and the private party he carried dishes to. Additionally, I was under the impression that people coming to Fleming's must order wine. We did not order any wine and our waiter looked at us perplexed. This whole experience makes me wonder whether or not it is acceptable to go to a prime steakhouse to only enjoy an appetiser and dessert.

Flemings is better than Ruth's Chris but not as good as Folk's Folly. I love the filet and garlic mashed potatoes. The service is great and the waiters are super nice!

Memphis doesnt have a lot of great steakhouses, so I was excited to try Flemings. It was solid, but for the price, I think you would be better off at Ruth's Chris or Folks Folly. I had the Bone-in Ribeye which is my go to cut, and it was cooked perfectly and the sides-creamed spinich and onion rings were pretty standard but nothing special. Everything was "good" from the atmosphere to the food to the service. It's just missing something.....I'm not even sure what, but when I drop this kind of cash, I want to be blown away.

The service was exceptional and the Lite Filet Mignon was perfect. Communication between our server and the kitchen was rusty, but it usually is everywhere at the start of a service.

Their signature salad was made with iceburg lettuce. Lobster tail was not fresh, tasted like it'd been sitting in a solution of sugar/salt to try to cover up the lack of natural sweetness that comes with fresh lobster. Filet mignon was decent (I've had better), good quality beef (I've had better), and properly medium rare. Highlight of the meal was vanilla ice cream and mango sorbet.

I enjoy Flemings. It's become a regular place for us when we want a nice meal. I start with a double Johnny Walker on the rocks. We order wine, as well. I usually get the bigger-sized filet, we get the Flemings potatoes as a side, and occasionally we get asparagus. It's also got a very nice atmosphere.

  • Debby R.

Tried this place twice and frankly for the price I would rather eat at Buckleys or the Butcher shop. Lobster bisk was burnt, and who wants vanilla butter for their lobster (tasted like cake batter, YUCK). Lobster was cooked perfectly. Got a 'tude' from the waiter when we sent back the soup and butter. Filet included in the combo was a joke. No larger than a silver dollar. Not going back.

I have seen some low ratings for this place and it makes me wonder if I just got lucky and went on the right night, because this place was as good as any I have ever had. There were 6 of us and everyone loved their meal. The side dishes were great, the Porcini rubbed Filet was one of the best steaks I have had and the seafood tower appetizer was excellent. The wine selection was top notch as well, if you like that. Everyone got a steak, whether is was the filet or the bone in ribeye. I recommend getting the Porcini Filet. Sides, we got flemings potatoes, which I highly recommend, the mac and cheese, and creamed spinach. All were wonderful.

Excellent happy hour & bar food! Friendly bartenders! Trying brunch this Sunday for Mothers Day! Yes, I have eaten in the main restaurant just at another location. So Mother's Day Brunch was superb. Their Blood Orange Fizz drink was scrumptious. Mom & I both had the Fresh Fruit with sour cream & honey sauce - not something that I was certain I would like, but actually was very light and a great addition to the fruit. Mom had the frittata and I had the prime rib. For dessert I had the creme brulee - which may have been the best I have ever had. It was lighter than most I have had. YUM!

  • Maria H.

For appetizer we had the chile calamari. DELICIOUS. It had a glaze with banana peppers and red bell peppers. I had the Stoli bombshell cocktail (vanilla, fruity, smooth) heaven in a little martini glass! For entree we shared the filet, string beans, and Flemings potatoes. Each bite was heaven! We paired a Pinot noir which was perfect. I also had the Tequila mockingbird (cocktail)- very different from the bombshell; grown up but delicious. The tequila is very smooth and the complementary flavors are perfect. Service was great- especially considering how busy it was!

Dropped in at 4:45 pm on our way home. We had heard that happy hour was really good. Happy hour starts at 5:00 pm but 20 plus people were there standing in the entry when we arrived. The hostess let us in about 4:50 pm - every seat was taken by 5:05 pm - wow what a stampede. The thing to get seemed to be the $6.00 burger served in the bar. We ordered a couple of glasses of the $6 Cabernet which is really $6.90 a glass (not including tax) a minor point but cost them the fourth star. Come on now - truth in advertising - "just saying". Atmosphere is great and service was excellent. I did expect a lot of wines by the glass and they have about 100. I did not get really excited by their offering - I'm probably spoiled having lived in Northern California for 5 years. It is very cool that they use IPads for their wine list but I'm thinking the person making the selections is more of a wine scholar instead of a wine drinker.

  • Stephanie C.

Oh, hello, $6 happy hour specials (bar area only)! If you can get there early enough to get a seat, and before 7 PM, you can take advantage of some pretty awesome drink and food specials. Wine, cocktails, and beer (2 beers), all for $6.00. They also have some pretty impressive small plates for $6 as well. I had an amazing mushroom ravioli and my husband had their prime burger, WITH FRIES from the happy hour menu. It definitely gets crowded and if you sit at the bar tables instead of the actual bar, you may wait a little longer for your drinks and food, but the value is well worth it.

Service and food was off the chart. The only reason not a five is it was a little to loud and they are pricy. And again food and service was the best.

One of the premier Prime Steakhouses and Wine Bars in the greater Memphis area is Fleming's. Located at 6245 Poplar Avenue between Ridgeway and Massey they have been one of my favorites for years. What I enjoy most about Fleming's is their never ending quest to get the choicest of meats, season, sir and deliver them to the table exactly as I request. What keeps me coming back is the service! Last night we were serviced and entertained by one of Fleming's greatest, Noah. It was my wife's (xx) birthday, and like the birthday's prior, this was our special occasion {excuse}. Not that we always need such an auspicious occasion to indulge our palates, but it makes the night that much more wonderful. Noah was attentive, without be assuming, comical without being obnoxious and professional without being stiff. The perfect trifecta in a dining host when you want attention, but require your space. I am open to new dishes and love a great tasting steak when it is complimented with the freshest and most delectable sides and choices of wine. Noah suggested the Prime Rib Special of the evening for a complimentary price of $39.95 per person. Now, I will tell you that I dine at most of the 4 & 5 star restaurants in the Memphis area and with very few exceptions can you order a three course meal for under $40 bucks. But of course, it's not ALL about the money. I mean really? What is a low price if it is conducive to the taste of the meal? However, once I assessed where I was, what they stand for and how much we've enjoyed them in the past; I quickly garnished a comfort knowing it couldn't be too bad....right? Well I was wrong! It was FANTASTIC! We both had the special, which included a salad, choice of side, prime rib and dessert. I ordered the wedge salad that is just as the name implies, a quarter cut wedge of lettuce that is carefully adorned with cheeses, dressing, nuts, basil and a hint of ginger that will have you saying wow. My wife ordered the Fleming's house salad that she says tasted even better than it looked, and it looked amazing. Shortly after finishing our salads, Noah removed our plates, capped off our drinks and minutes later had our Prime Ribs in front of us with fresh Asparagus Spears and their version of Scalloped potatoes in a rich buttery cream sauce. We shared a basket of fresh bread and tried to carry on a conversation between mouthfuls of the best prime rib I have had in years. Not to mention the most reasonably priced. Did I mention it was under $40 dollars? What's important is that everything was fantastic. The three sauces left on the table to enhance the taste of our prime ribs received very little attention as the meat was just that good. The potatoes and asparagus spent little time in their serving dishes and even less time on our plates. We were stuffed before we even realized that we had not yet had dessert. Then came dessert! A crème brulee for me and a Walnut Turtle Pie for her. We both had their coffee. Not because we wanted to...but because you HAVE TO HAVE their regular coffee, cream and sugar and let your taste buds mellow out from the evening. Once again the restaurant provided with great service starting with the valet parking, quick and courteous seating, a superb waiter and above all; great food at a great price! Happy Birthday to US!

Flemings is consistently good. It's a national chain so they know what they're doing. Happy hour is amazing and the bar gets filled up quickly! If you need a seat, get there immediately when the doors open! Great HH menu..... Carpaccio and the burger are my fave! Complimentary valet is also available, so take advantage!

    (5)
  • Mary M.

The service was excellent! From the valet, to reception and our server, everyone was friendly and welcoming. The food was good and the portion sizes were large. I brought half my dinner home, and the server had packaged my take home food securely so that it was really worth eating the next day. Service was the most notable thing. It was such a pleasure to be treated so professionally.

My wife brought me here for my birthday and we had a great time. The food was sensational and the service was polite and timely. It was a little loud for what I was expecting especially for the price we had to pay for the food. I would think that it would have been a much nicer atmosphere for the price and quality of the food. I am overall a little disappointed with the restaurant, but not the food.

So I know it is a chain, and we all know how I feel about chains...but I really like coming here for a nice glass of merlot and the carpaccio appetizer at the bar. They're open until 10, which in this neck of the woods is "late," so I end up here fairly often...especially when I'm leaving the horse show in Germantown. The crowd is a bizarre mix of businessman and single ladies and families but I like that the ambience has darker lighting for a more sophisticated mood with lots of wood. Yeah, I don't know what I'm talking about either at this point. It's classy, that is what I'm trying to convey. Bottom line: the food is good but expensive. The bar is reasonable for drinks and apps...especially happy hour.

  • Elle S.

Super disappointed with this place. It's more expensive than the nice local restaurants and the food quality is poor. The food wasn't bad but I could have been just as happy at Texas road house. This is the fancy version of j Alexander's , the only difference, as my finance pointed out, is that service at Flemings is better, burnt also think j Alexander's food is better. Drinks are 12-15$ hahahaha this is not NYC. I will never come back here by choice. If you want to pay a lot for franchised food at least Capitol grill is better and their mac n cheese is amazing. We had wedge salad... Ok Onion soup... Good Filet w crab and shrimp... Meh 12 oz filet... Meh Mac n cheese... Ok Lava cake... I ate it all but the center was the saltiest thing I've ever had I had to mix it with ice cream and the cream they brought. The ganache tasted like they accidentally poured the salt shaker in there. The atmosphere is cheap too. Our server was nice.

We have somehow become Foodies. At dinner we compared our pressed chicken and pork chop to those from Houston's and Jack Binnion's. We enjoyed our meal with the pork chop being the clear winner of the evening. It was THE best we've ever eaten. Everything is a la carte so expect to pay. Salad was a poor lettuce mix but Scott loves the raviolis. Passed on dessert. Wonderful service and great atmosphere. Would love to try Happy Hour.

  • Shane S.

In a word -- underwhelming. We rarely ever eat at chains and we thought we would try another this week, since it had been months since our last chain visit. The staff was friendly with great service and the space was beautiful, but there was nothing unique about the place or the food. The salad was a bed of iceberg lettuce, the chicken was good and the steak was okay. I got the craftsman rib eye and some parts were rare and some parts were medium well. The outside sear and flavor was nice, but I have had much better steak. The Chipotle mac n cheese was really good. I don't mind shelling out cash for a great meal, but this was just another chain that lacked character with average food.

Great place for company outing or dinner with the family. Everything on the menu is delicious and worth the high price tag - even their onion rings!! Just keep going so you can have a taste of the entire menu. The service is stellar - they really treat you like a special guest and cater to your needs and any special menu request.

We haven't had drinks we haven't loved at Flemings. We started tonight at happy hour in the bar with the French twist lemonade and debonair martini. Previous experiences have taught us that the blueberry lemon drop and the peach bourbon martini are also delicious happy hour options. With dinner we ordered the Hendricks prime martini which is completely worth it and paired well with steak. Our entrees were the in-bone Ribeye with lumped crab béarnaise sauce --which was phenomenal--as well as a seasonal vegetable pasta dish that was amazing (you'll have to ask your waiter: it's not on the menu). We ordered truffle parsley potatoes as a side and they were one of the tastiest dishes I've ever eaten. Our waiter was attentive and friendly and efficient. Overall excellent experience.

We had a big group for happy hour. Staff did a good job of keeping up with orders and tabs. My first impression was influenced by burnt chips when we arrived, but the appetizer I ordered was so good. Burrata cheese, arugula ad tomatoes with balsamic vinegar. I would definitely return for happy hour.

Well, over the years, this had been our favorite steak place in Memphis...the food had been quite consistently good and the service invariably excellent, with the added bonus of Costco gift cards giving a nice 20% discount! However, the food has not been up to snuff the last few times... the last time was the final straw. Shrimp cocktail was $18.50 for four shrimp...as far as I'm concerned, there is absolutely no excuse for serving less-than-fresh shrimp (especially at those prices). Well, two of these critters had the telltale aroma of iodine and turned out to be inedible! The straw that broke this camel's back however was the dry-aged ribeye that I ordered. I have eaten enough prime ribs and rib eyes to recognize the anatomy of the steak. I was served an 8in x 2.5in x 2in steak (overdone to a medium-well despite my medium-rare request). For $56.50, I was rather surprised to receive what looked and tasted like a NY Strip...there was even a strip of connective tissue on the edge. I could identify no eye and no cap. I pointed this out to the waiter (our usual server who we always request), but he insisted it was a ribeye...he checked in the kitchen and they insisted by their counts that it was a ribeye. If it was a ribeye, it was just about the toughest ribeye I have ever seen, dry-aged prime be damned. If they trimmed a ribeye to 2.5 in wide, the butcher should be shot...he obviously has no idea how to dry-age a piece of meat and trim it. Regardless, I was highly disappointed with my meal...it may be time to go to Ruths Chris and Capital Grille more.

Awesome staff and amazing filets. Get the pocket book out cause it adds up fast. Filet was amazing! NY strip was average and I'm confident I could have made one just as good. The service was so outstanding it made up for my average steak. Great for a special evening; get the filet!!

First of all, Great experience there! Phenomenal service and amazing foods! I am a big Yelper person when it comes to restaurant research and recommendations. While pulling up fine dinning, both Ruth's Chris Steak House and Fleming's Prime Steakhouse&Wine Bar came up. Tell you what, it was definitely a difficult decision to make considering the ratings and comments are quite identical. So we decided to go to whichever one is close by to us and whichever one has available tables as it is Saturday night, yet we did not make any reservations. It was 6:50pm Saturday night, Ruth's Chris Steak House was all booked and there were not any available table until 8:45pm, so, we decided to give Fleming's a call and see if we could get any luck to get a table! Bam!!! Greeted by professional yet welcoming phone operator and got us a table right away within 10 minutes. Don't get me wrong here; believe me, Fleming's was packed, and we just got lucky to have a table. In the future, make sure you make a reservation before you go. Anyhow, back to the review part. We ordered seafood tower for two as our appetizer, Fleming's house salad, Chef Special Tuna and Wild Salmon dish. Speechless! They are absolutely amazing! Their chef knows exactly how to prepare Tuna!!! Surrounding well prepared and slightly raw towards the center Job very very very well done! We have been to many fine dinning restaurants, and this is by far the best preparation for Tuna fish! Delicious and appealing! We needed our dinner with a light "Creme Brûlée" and decaf! Fulfilled our sweet craving without doing too much! Overall we really enjoyed our dinner there. Now, I want to take the time to recognize our server--Amanda!!! We always believe we can get good foods anywhere if we want to, however, at a fine dinning restaurant, a key part of it is its service! Amanda has showed her professionalism and knowledge in foods and customer service; she gives good and detailed recommendations on menu and wine selection, and she served us followed by great timely manner without being rushed or left alone, She was on Par from every single aspects and we were both very pleased! I usually don't give 5 stars, but I couldn't find any reasons why I shouldn't give a 5 star to Flemings based on our experiences there! Definitely a highlight of our night! Would come back soon! Double Thumb Up! Keep up with the great work, Flemings!!!

Today was my first time eating at Flemings and I must say that I was impressed. Flemings has an outstanding wine selection and the service was excellent. I can tell that this is a special occasion place, but I highly recommend Flemings for any occasion.

Review is for the HAPPY HOUR only! A friend tipped me off on a secret two years ago that I'm sharing with you today: Flemming's offers a 5 - 6 - 7 happy hour in the bar area. Five cocktails, five wines and five appetizers for $6 until 7pm. And they do mean bar area, no dining room no patio. There are five booths in this area so you either need to get there at 5pm or come at 6pm when the early crowd turns over. A small half wall separates you from the $50 steak high rollers. We sat at a bistro table in front of the wine cellar , this is a bit of a high traffic area so it's not preferred. We got there at 5:30 and it was the last table left. The drinks are actually $6.90, which I think is a bit deceiving but hey, they've got to make their money somewhere. Sodas are $3.50 each. Our food selections were baked Brie, tenderloin carpaccio, prime burger and salt & pepper shrimp; All were delicious, and we could have done with only three.

This is a beautiful restaurant. The interior is elegant and very posh. The servers are very professional and attentive. The headliner at this restaurant is the steak. They offer a dry aged steak that has a rich bold flavor. I asked for it to be cooked medium rare and it came out cooked just the way I wanted it. It is very expensive and I liked the steak very much. This is a special occasion restaurant. Romantic.

I have only been here for Happy Hour, but the Happy Hour is simply amazing. You get some amazing appetizers or a great burger and fries for $6 per item, cheap cocktails (or two happy hour beers for $6, not bad!) and get to enjoy the ambiance and service that comes with Fleming's. I am personally a more prominent fan of the baked brie to share and their burger as a meal. The soda is $3.50, so beware on that front. Overall, I'd say this is one of the better Happy Hours in town and I would strongly recommend checking this out!

  • Mark S.

Absolutely, positively the best steak I've ever had...in my life....bar none. Sure, taking my family there cost about a half a week's salary which is a lot for a single meal but it was a special occasion (daughter's engagement and future son-in-law's graduation/ new job....how often does THAT happen?). So, its not the sort of place I'd go to too often (unless I win the lottery). P.S. To all the vegetarians out there who are second-guessing their lifestyle decision...if you have a steak from here you may never go back to your all veggie diet. Yes, it will ruin it for you. You have been warned.

Flemings is the perfect example of modern steakhouse. Fantastic bar. Extensive wine list. Yet, simple menu. The Memhis Flemings has a new chef. Please allow that to renew your interest in booking a reservation rather soon. I just polished off a bone-in rib eye steak. I asked for it "Pittsburgh blue". This is a steak sprinkled generously with salt and seared for a short time at a ridiculously high temperature to generated a rare steak with lucious crust. If Memphis Flemings can handle a Pittsburgh blue, they can take anything that comes their way. Book your dinner, you've got nothing to lose & a great dinner to remember.

You always get what you pay for in life. Fleming's is very nice and very nice service, but expect to pay for it! My wife and I shared an app and we each ordered a steak dinner which was served as ordered. Very professional but casual dining experience and the food was very acceptable. I am sure that they use Choice meats - I would for the price expect Prime steak, but it's not common unless you dine at Berns in Tampa, Fl. If you are looking to impress a date or have a nice business dinner this a a great East Memphis place to go .... Enjoy - and bring lot's of $$$!!

This is a review of the Happy Hour, which I had heard was the best in Memphis but frankly I was not impressed. You're drawn in with the promise of $6 drinks and appetizers. I'll admit my burger was good, very good for $6. My pork belly was very disappointing. I previously ordered this off the real menu for the real price and it was heavenly. The cheap happy hour version tasted as such... it was tough, dry and bland. My bf who had been there a week earlier was equally disappointed with his pork belly then and this time, and agreed only when we paid full price was it really good. Here's where I am super annoyed with Flemmings HH... or I guess I'm annoyed at Tennessee. I had 3 glasses of HH wine, the bf had 4. That should be $42, right? wrong. The actually price was around $49. Apparently in TN they charge 24% tax on wine and then tax you *again* on it with the whole meal...? or so said the bartender when we questioned the bill. I know some people will read this and say, big deal $7... but unaware of this we tipped on the taxed drinks, so that's another rip off. The point is don't advertise $6 drinks that are actually $7 and not tell people. Because when your tab of $7 drinks, 2 burgers and a severely disappointing pork belly (oh and a coke for $3.50!) comes to $75 and you walk out paying $90... it's not so Happy. If this is the "best happy hour in Memphis" I can't wait to get back to Texas. Again, price-wise I guess that's more an issue with TN though I think it's misleading on Flemmings part... but that pork belly was gross. Don't put poor quality on the HH and expect people to be grateful bc it's cheap when they're getting raped on the drinks. Not impressed this time at all.

Great food as always. But i always feel a little frustrated when everything is ala carte and I'm asked to pay $12.00 for a baked potato when i order a $57.00 steak. Don't get me wrong it was a good potato, but its just a potato that they cooked in the oven for 45 min. Nothing special just a fifty cent potato that i just paid 12 bucks for. Raise the price of your steak 5 bucks and lower your sides by half so i can enjoy the sides. Hard to swallow a $12 tater!!!!!!

I had dinner at Flemings last Thursday for a social meeting and Friday Dinner Date night with my wife. Both times, the food, service and atmosphere was phenomenal. Thursday I had the Filet Mignon and on Friday I had the Lobster Tails, both dishes were cooked to perfection. Thursday, I had the Carrot Cake for dessert, I don't even like carrot cake, however, their recipe was delicious. They truly provide a dining experience. Additionally, the wine list on the iPads is a great extra touch for pairing and simply to email yourself a variety of wines that you want to try later or at home.

Everything was perfect from start to finish. The crab cake appetizer was full of crab meat no fillers. The filet mignon with blue cheese topping was cooked to perfection. Flemings potatoes and creamed spinach was delicious. Dessert was the chocolate lava cake with fresh strawberries, vanilla ice cream, and a pistachio cookie that left me speechless. The service was wonderful. Overall a superb dining experience.

Flemming's offers a fine dining choice that is refined without being stuffy, and formal without being pretentious. The service is attentive and friendly, and the food is always top notch. They regularly have specials that can be some excellent deals as well. Valet parking is complementary (but do tip the valet). They have an extensive wine selection, and make it easy to find your favorite by using iPads for the wine list. This is the perfect place for a high end business dinner or a romantic evening. Unlike many steakhouses that seem to cater to the over-50 set, a younger client will feel comfortable in the upscale but friendly interior. I particularly like the open kitchen, it's a fascinating thing to watch during your meal. It's not cheap, perhaps $40 per head if trying to be cheap, and easily $100 per head with all the courses and wine, however it's one of the few places in Memphis where I feel the prices are justified. Clearly the ingredients are all top quality, and more importantly I've never seen a steak that wasn't cooked perfectly out of the kitchen. I'm particularly fond of their Caesar salad. Most places seem to think a Caesar needs to be swimming in dressing, but not Flemming's. They clearly put some love into both the dressing as well as the assembly of the salad and the result is a proper Caesar.

I hadn't been to Fleming's in a while, so last night's meal was like eating there for the first time. The menu has small plates now and the choices are quite varied. I had the ahi tuna small plate (made into an entree size) and it was cooked to perfection; and the vegetable salad accompaniment had just the right level of citrus to go with the tuna. The service was very good as well, our waiter didnt rush us at all. All in all a great meal!

I've been patronizing this business for years and the service has always been nothing but friendly, knowledgable, and professional. Whether I was seated at the bar or a table, the employees are well trained. The food is exceptional and the presentation is outstanding. I refer everyone, who asks for a nice place to eat, to Fleming's Prime Steakhouse. I must mention that when I met a friend from out of town at Fleming's they missed the entrance because the restaurant sign was obstructed by very nice crepe myrtles.

Took wife to celebrate second wedding anniversary. Tenderloin carpaccio appetizer was delicious as were the cocktails and sides that came with our steaks. I had the boneless ribeye (med-rare) and the missus had the filet mignon (medium). My steak tasted good, but it could have been much better with an actual sear (it was very pale in color). Her filet was perfectly seared. Haven't been to a steakhouse in a long time and so I can't speak to what is proper steakhouse seasoning, but it seemed both steaks were quite salty. If that's the norm, then so be it. That being said, our meal was fantastic with wonderful service from everyone. They even gave us a chocolate treat to take home with us because of the special occasion.

Highly, highly overrated. I've been to many premier stake houses in the USA. Sorry, $45.00 for a filet served 10 miles outside of Memphis is simply not worth it... This ain't South Beach... Nice decor, good staff but food is very average.

I have always experienced superb food and service at Fleming's. Unfortunately, last night I did not have that experience. To begin with our waitress did not provide the superior service to which I am used to receiving. She did not offer a black napkin to my friend and I. We were both wearing dark pants. The evening continued in a similar manner. The food was lack luster and did not have any real flavor. Although the first bite of the sliced tenderloin on a potato croquette appetizer was delicious, the second bite did not have any of the original flavor. I do not think the meat was seasoned thoroughly. The potato croquette did not have any flavor, but was made better with a dash of salt. For dinner I ordered the special which was crab stuffed red snapper over mushroom ravioli. The only delicious part of this dish was the name. The fish and crab had no flavor. I was extremely disappointed. I took my friend here for her birthday. Not only did her dessert not have a candle, but the waitress did not wish her a happy birthday when the dessert was offered her. I mentioned this to the manager and he said they had run out of candles. Ten minutes later I saw someone else receive the same dessert with the candle in it. The dessert was amazing and almost made up for the previous dishes lack of flavor. We shared the chocolate lava cake. It must be ordered in advance as it takes 20 minutes to make. I recommend going to this restaurant for this dessert alone. The chocolate is amazing and the home made whipped cream that they serve with it is beyond words. This desserts is my favorite in Memphis. I have eaten dinner at Acre and travelled to this restaurant just for this dessert. Overall, I am completely disappointed with the food (except for the chocolate lava cake) and the service. The atmosphere was amazing as always and they have a great and extensive wine list. The use of their electronic wine list loaded to iPad is always a fun experience to match your wine to the good that you plan to order.

I dig this place for their 5/6/7 deal. I could go on about atmosphere and this and that, but I go for the happy hour. The burger is good...great actually. It comes with BOTH cheese (bleu) and bacon (none) served on a Kaiser-Brioche hybrid bun. Bomb. The bartenders are cool and attentive. Give it a shot. Careful if you get a hankering for their in-house potato crisps served at the bar..the guilt can be maddening!

We go here for happy hour at the bar half price appetizers and burgers. The carpaccio and burger are my favorite. The place is perfect for after work stop. Get there early during the week though bar fills up fast!!

Atmosphere: Super classy and upscale dining. Beautiful settings and interior! Food: We both had steak, of course. And it was amazingly good! My filet mignonette was cooked to the perfect temperature. It was juicy and very flavorful! We ordered several sides as well. Some greens, potatoes, and salad. All were very superb and great portions too! Last, we had chocolate truffles..... SOOOO rich and yummy. Drinks: I helped myself to some red wine on their vast wine list. And my boyfriend enjoyed choosing from their beer selection. The server was helpful in choosing from the wine list too. Service: Valet was prompt when we pulled up and very professional and welcoming. The hostesses knew our names and that it was a special occasion. They had us seated at our table very quickly and were genuinely happy that we had chosen to dine there that night, Price: Pricy, but definitely worth it. You will get what you pay for! Overall Experience: Wonderful atmosphere. Delicious food. Great drink selection. Amazing service from every single staff member that we came across, even the food runners and "water refillers." High price worth the high quality food, service, and experience!

From the minute my friend and I walk in the door Fleming's seeks to impress us. An iPad wine menu? Awesome. More awesome still are the wines on the list itself. But I digress, I want to keep this review short and sweet. We started with the pork belly appetizer: succulent. I then moved on to probably the second best Caesar salad I have ever had. From the prosciutto to the dressing, it was magnificent. For my entree I had the porcini rubbed filet and it was flawless. Perfectly cooked to medium rare. The "Fleming's Potatoes" were cheesy and a superb accompaniment. We enjoyed a pinot noir, the perfect accentuation of the well-prepared steaks. Dessert was the best carrot cake I have ever put in my mouth accompanied by Moscato D'asti. Service was impeccable. Of course, the prices were high - this is definitely a special occasion restaurant for me... but in this case the occasion was merely me seeking an exceptional dining experience... and I got one.

Brett the bartender explained and demonstrated the wine tablet. The wine was delicious. We decided to dine at the bar. Our starter was the lobster tempura. I was not impressed. The tempura took over the lobster, so much you could not taste the lobster. The sauce was very salty. ***The lamb chops were delicious! Well cooked and tender, full of flavor. *** Service was prompt and not rushed. Atmosphere was nice, quiet, even though most tables were full. Word of caution for others dining at the bar. Prepare to hear all kinds of personal information from the servers when they drop by to place orders, etc. you will learn about upcoming doctors appointments, dating drama, new or terminated employees, etc. I hope someone from management will remind team members that personal conversations should be reserved for team member areas.

One of my favorite cousins lives out of town, but often travels to Memphis for business. When he's in town, we like to get together and catch up....on his company's hefty per diem. (But this is *not* why he's my favorite cousin!!!) Last trip through Memphis, he chose Flemings for our family rendezvous. I hadn't been since my last review (2009!!) and was eager to give the restaurant another shot. Atmosphere is dim, like I like it. We tried the calamari for an appetizer, which was really nice and perfectly cooked. For entrees, I chose the petite filet. The sides (onion rings, baked potato, mushrooms), ran about $10 each and we shared them, family style. If you're not a garlic fan, beware, as many items are overpowered by it. Not one to look a gift horse in the mouth, it was a fine meal. If I was picking up the tab, however, I'd prefer to do so across the street at Ruths Chris.

Service was excellent. My filet was not the best in town. It was not as lean as it should have been. The wine selection was great. Overall the place was good. Very disappointed in my steak.

Although Fleming's is a chain the food is top-notch. It doesn't feel like a cookie cutter steakhouse. The last time I went there was some confusion about seating. We actually wanted to sit at the bar to take part in the happy hour but our hostess led us into the main dining room instead--and before i could ask whether we could still partake in the happy hour specials, she had left. Turns out that we couldn't and we'd have to wait in the lobby for an HOUR for a seat at the bar. (Mind you, it was 5:30 on a Saturday). So fine...we just stayed put. I was still frustrated that I had to pay twice as much for the same appetizers that were on the happy hour menu....when we were literally 2 feet from the bar. The bbq shrimp appetizer for example was $13+ on the main menu but $6 on the bar menu--for the same portion. That didn't jive well with me at all. So just a fair warning about that... Back to the food. The barbecue shrimp and crab cakes are spectacular. I also had the Limoncello martini and it was delicious and strong enough to lift my spirits after the seating debacle. The service is very good, attentive, and professional. This is a great place to celebrate a special occasion--but it is definitely a splurge. If you're looking into the Happy Hour, read my warning above and you should be fine.

Personally, in the past I have felt that while Fleming's is good, it is overpriced. However, I have recently discovered their Small Plates menu. Has it always been there or is it new? They have great portion sizes and variety - filet mignon, scallops, seared tuna. lamb chops. The portions were a perfect size and the price more reasonable. I also LOVE their happy hour - what a great deal on drinks and food. And you have to try their Farmers Daughter cocktail - it is a martini made with strawberries and basil, SOOO delish, fresh and light. A perfect summer cocktail

YUM!

  • A W.

  • Joelle P.

Food was great! I ordered the bone in ribeye and it was one of the best steaks I've had EVER! Sides were not so good. Mac and cheese were just OK... Same for garlic mashed potatoes. Overal experience A+

Romantic.

Awesome staff and amazing filets. Get the pocket book out cause it adds up fast. Filet was amazing! NY strip was average and I'm confident I could have made one just as good. The service was so outstanding it made up for my average steak. Great for a special evening; get the filet!!

YUM!

  • Katy C.

Great place for company outing or dinner with the family. Everything on the menu is delicious and worth the high price tag - even their onion rings!! Just keep going so you can have a taste of the entire menu. The service is stellar - they really treat you like a special guest and cater to your needs and any special menu request.

Romantic.

Truly a dining experience. Everything. I mean everything was incredible. 4 of us shared 2 flight meals (steak and seafood) a flight of soups and desserts were off the chart. Perfect Godiva martini

Highly, highly overrated. I've been to many premier stake houses in the USA. Sorry, $45.00 for a filet served 10 miles outside of Memphis is simply not worth it... This ain't South Beach... Nice decor, good staff but food is very average.
