This is my dive of dives... Cheap beer, cheap pool and darts with plenty of bar grub. Locally owned and operated for over 25 years by real West TN folk. There is plenty of parking with some locations more discrete than others and they are biker friendly. The back patio is perfect for summer GatheRings and a brEath of frEsh air(N). They are open everyday of the week and there is a digital jukebox with just about anything. Try to catch a lunch special or happy hour to save some cash. You can always grab a drink while waiting on Regina @ Special Effects for a hair design or Boggy @ Boggy's Dream Studio for a rub down. This is Jackson's best dive!

Super nice guy. At first I thought "3 wing combo, what a rip off" but the wing is the drug and the flat. I got the spicy dry rub. 10/10 and I'm a picky SOB
These are by far the best wings in Jackson Tennessee, they come in the full wing, and I'm a 16 year old and 5 wings with fries fills me up unlike at BWW where one must buy 12-15 wings to have the same amount of food.
We just tried the wings for the first time tonight. They are awesome!! They are large and meaty. We tried to Hot sauce. Next time we are going for the XHot. Our daughter tried the Honey Gold and she said they were the best in town. Our son has the chicken finger combo. They are made of real chicken!! He's a picky eater and he ate more at one seating than he has in a while. We will definitely be back. As of right now, they might just be the best wings in town. They also have burgers and other sandwiches. And a fish plate that seems to be popular.

Sprite Zero with Peach flavor is out of this world good. As for the food never will I complain about Zaxbys.......wings and things so good. I had to struggle not to eat the fries but my doctor would not be happy with that move. I am happy they put one on this side of town.

First up - the BBQ sandwich. Best I've had. Got the regular size and it was huge. Meant to eat only half but couldn't stop eating it. Second - the sides. All 3 were great, coleslaw, beans and potato salad. Especially good was the beans! Spicy in just the right way. Saw others reviews on Yelp and decided to stop on our way from Nashville to Memphis. Glad we did!
So we elected to skip Memphis BBQ for Jackson's fare and we were not disappointed. The service was really fast and friendly. My wife and I each had a rib plate (one spicy and one sweet) and both were excellent. The rib meat was tender, juicy and well balanced by the sauces. The cole slaw (on the sweet side) was good, but the beans and potato salad really stood out. As indicated by others, the portions were sizable and made for a full meal. Dining by the road at one of the picnic tables was rather unique. A nice change of pace from loud restaurants. We would highly recommend this stop if passing by on I-40, especially if you are in a big rig or RV - due to the ample truck parking. Might even be worth a bit of road trip.
Stopped here for breakfast riding my Road Glide back from NY to CO. The sausage/egg and cheese biscuit was great. Very friendly staff and super fast service.

Been here many times. The pulled pork is great. The ribs are great. The sweet tea is sweet and all you can drink for cheap likewise for the four or more varieties of Kool-Aid. The beans are good. The pies are good. The fries are good. The sauce is awesome. The slaw is good. I've never had anything bad at Mac's. The price is cheap for BBQ. This ain't McDonald's, but a pulled pork sandwich is cheaper and better than a Big Mac. The food and atmosphere reminds me of eating at my grandmothers as a kid. I thought I had found a hidden gem, but it turns out people from all over the country and world stop in to get some good southern BBQ. I can't believe he ain't been on the food channel or No Reservations. I wish he wasn't so popular. I don't want ya'll to ruin it, but I saw a few low ratings that were recently added. That annoyed me. He used to have no bad ratings and was the highest rated in Jackson. Now he is several places down. I figure it's either haters and/or other restaurants paying for good reviews on them and bad on Mac. That's ok with me. I like my party being the only one there.
Was in town from Chicago for a family function and was looking for authentic southern food. Down home feel with family portraits located around the counter tops. The food was great..catfish was cooked perfect (not too hard and not too soft),had the sweet tea which to my surprise came as a full pitcher. This place is like going to your favorite aunts house and she whips up something's fast but it on point. We ate the pulled pork and fries, which were delectable, the slaw dog was good also as an appetizer. The warm sweet potato pie and chess pie was like my grandmother used to cook. Overall, I will definitely be stopping back at Mac's the next time I'm in Jackson, stop in and check him out.
I went out of my way to go here because of all the wonderful reviews, but I don't know what the big hoopla is over the food here. I threw away most of my dinner and both desserts. I won't be going back....actually hoping I don't get sick from this visit.

If you are looking for a cookie cutter BBQ place just skip West Alley. If you are looking for great authentic BBQ with an energetic local crowd, look no further. You won't be wowed by the plates covered with foil or the styrofoam cups the sides come in but you don't have to be because that first bite is all it will take.
Hands down best bbq in jackson. We live in the area and this place is definitely in our regular rotation. The staff is very friendly and owner/chef comes around to check on your food as well. The big Jim dandy is my choice but the link sausage is off the chain as well. Can't say enough good things about this place. Do yourself a favor and check it out.
So we wanted one last stab at Tenn BBQ and I remember the city of Jackson from a Johny Cash song, so we chose this little joint to say farewell to the great state of Tennessee as we trucked it back to California. The service was thankfully slow the waitress a sweetheart kinda kept us there until a blues band warmed up and I am thankful she did. After the music started the beers came faster;) Now I live in the LA area, which is top notch entertainment from top to bottom, and I have to tell you that the band that played here would have no problem fitting in at any famous club in Hollywood. The food and beer was cheap, the environment full of good folk and the music was incredible. A true slice of Americana for the true traveling music fan with a Bbq addiction.

I have been in Jackson, TN for a week and this is now my go to place. The salsa bar is a nice touch if you done in. The salsas are excellent! I have had burritos, tacos, and all the sides and it is all delicious! You know it is authentic when a majority of the customers are Hispanic! The place has a nice fun and relaxing atmosphere and outdoor seating. I will eat here anytime I work in Jackson!
It was ok. I would not recommend the beef, though. My husband got shredded beef and I got carne as ads. Mine was cubes of beef that tasted boiled. His tasted like pot roast. Neither was seasoned. It's fast food. They bring you chips and you select your salsa. You order it at the counter. You don't have to tip. Fast in and out. Cheap beer.
So fresh. So delicious. Such a bang for your buck! This is a nice little surprise on my friend and I's road trip from the Smoky Mountains. Please come to Oklahoma!

Love the food. It's always great. However, the service definitely is lacking. It didn't used to be that way. However, the last couple of times we have visited (slow), and almost every time we use the to-go service (order is wrong), there are problems
Highly recommend this restaurant. Steaks, chicken and sandwiches are all good. One of the best Club Sandwiches anywhere.
Imagine a perfect marriage between Outback Steakhouse and country Christmas cabin. Decent food at a reasonable price and lots of TV screens to keep sports fans occupied = family restaurant done right. I like that it's not a part of global chain.
