This is one of my favorite places to eat in gatlinburg.we have been here a few times and every time it has been great. They start you off with little homemade mini muffins with fresh preserves. They make this special blend of tea that you can have cold or hot and it's very delicious. We get the cheese plate a lot . It usually has different featured cheeses and crackers along with fresh fruits. I have had the salmon sandwich, which is pan fried in bread crumbs served on a wheat type hoagie with a fresh dill sauce. It's pretty tasty. Being a salmon lover is a must for this sandwich. I have also had the lobster pie, it has artichokes in some kind of a cream sauce with a pastry shell on top. It is good but not my favorite, I have also had the chicken salad which is good but I would ask for a croissant or some type of bread to go with it ,I notice a few of the people seemed to be surprised when just the chicken salad comes out. I think they are expecting it to be some kind of a sandwich. Recently I ate the egg salad stack it was egg salad mixed with celery red pepper, pimento cheese and cheddar cheese. I think this sandwich was my favorite. Service is excellent and the dessert are freshly made and wonderful as well. Over all I would have to say if your in this area you should give it a try it's a hidden mountain gem.

Great find on "yelp".... Quiet setting, great customer service, and fantastic food, what else can you ask for? Servers are warm and genuine and the food is made from scratch and perfect! I had the lobster pie that was FULL of lobster......I honestly expected a couple of diced pieces, I was Wrong.........it was Full of large pieces of lobster! Awesome! I also had the tomato, basil, and sherry soup...also great. My wife had the chicken salad, which she says is the best she's ever had. I highly recommend that you seek this place out if you want fresh, local, and amazing food.

My girlfriend and I ate here on a recent trip to Gatlinburg. It was the best meal that we've had in a long time. The restaurant is about a 6 mile drive out of Gatlinburg. Well worth the drive! The setting is a nice simple country porch. The atmosphere was quiet sitting outside. The servers were very sweet southern ladies that were extremely knowledgeable about the food and menu. The service was excellent! I ordered the chef special lobster pie, which was a thickened lobster bisque with artichokes topped with puff pastry. It was packed with lobster and came out piping hot and delicious! I had a strawberry, arugula, and feta cheese salad as my side dish with a honey citrus vinegarette. Both were phenomenal! My girlfriend ordered a panko encrusted baked salmon burger on a kaiser roll with dill sauce, cucumber, and onion on it. She loved it! The burger was very large and she had leftovers to enjoy later. Her side dish was fresh fruit that was deliciously ripe. We also had a cheese and fresh fruit plate that was yummy! For drinks, we had their signature wild plum tea served chilled. I think my girlfriend drank about 4 cups because she liked it so much. Also I would like to mention that they started us off with plum and walnut mini muffins with plum jam. For dessert, we shared a rich chocolate truffle tort with homemade raspberry sauce and whipcream. It hit the spot! Everything was reasonably priced and we walked out with about a $50 bill for two people. We are definitely coming back anytime we are in the area. We wish it was open for dinner! We could not recommend it more!

Absolutely delicious and wonderful service. A perfect place to slow down and relax to enjoy food and drinks. A beautiful serene garden surrounds the restaurant, and the workers of the restaurant make you feel like you are family. It's definitely not like any other place in Gatlinburg or touristy by any means. I highly suggest the Lobster Pie. Tip: The menu looks like it changes day by day for Chef's specials. Many fish options but others available.

This is one of my favorite restaurants, hands down. From start to finish it was perfect. They are known for their tea and there is a good reason for that. It is absolutely perfect. I had the tomato dill soup then the salmon burger. My boyfriend has the lobster pie. There were two large claws of meat of Maine lobster. We finished with the blackberry cobbler with cinnamon ice cream. It is a perfect little place!!!

This is a cute little place with outdoor seating, screen porch seating, and lots of indoor seating in a quaintly decorated old building. Looks like a tea room should with mismatched chairs and lace tablecloths. The staff was very friendly and helpful. This is possibly the only vegetarian friendly place in Gatlinburg. There are Not a huge number of truly vegetarian selections on the menu but they are willing to you and make something suitable from what they have. Everyone in our party of six, from carnivore, to fish eaters to vegetarian, was happy with their meal. I had a company to salad offerings for the day, quinoa salad and strawberry salad both were good. Complimentary Wild Plum mini muffins to start off were delightful, as is the wild plum iced teal. The desserts Were quite wonderful. They have two dessert samplers, one desserts and one ice cream sampler. Three of us shared a dessert sampler with a brownie with ice cream, an amaretto bread pudding, and a chocolate torte, tiny portions, just right for lunchtime dessert. I would definitely go back.

What a nice little gem in the Arts and Crafts Trail area of Gatlinburg! We have come to the area many times over the years and struggle to find unique local restaurants with options outside of the heavy steak house genre. The tea room was fun, the people were delightful and the food very good. I am a vegetarian and would have preferred a few more vegan options. I opted for the non- vegan fruit and cheese plate. The fruits were perfectly ripened, the cheeses very fresh and of high quality, and portions were generous enough for a hearty lunch. My mother chose the chicken salad and commented several times about how good it tasted. It was a very traditional recipe and included apples and nuts. The downside for me was that as a tea room I would expect a few more tea options. Their plum team was the specialty. It was a fruity tea offered either hot or iced. It as extremely sweet, reminiscent of a mulled cider and served with a cinnamon stick. Being a little more health minded these days I would have liked some not sugar sweetened options. I think they should branch out and offer an unsweet version of this or other teas, after all it is a tea room. We enjoyed the food, the tea and our lunch and would definitely revisit when returning to Gatlinburg in the future.

this place is in the middle of nowhere....it's on a side road off the mountains & it's in the woods. super cute little screened in porch with a nice patio for outside seating. seating inside also. a cute little spot to have tea (they serve plum tea hot or iced, already sweetened, it is the south) they have delicious little spiced muffins that they serve with plum jam. you get this after your tea is served. i had the chicken salad served with a scone that was delicious but i wouldn't really call it a scone, it was some pretty good stuff, there were more apples in the chicken salad than chicken though. my LOVER had the pork loin sandwich served with a tomato dill soup....it was all pretty good also. & then my daughter had a pb&j made with the plum jam. with fruit they fancied her plate all up for her & made the sandwich look like a little girl. i think she liked the experience more that anyone, she felt so fancy with her tea & her cute little sandwich. we had a flourless chocolate cake for dessert that was absolutely perfect. my favorite thing about this place is that all the waitresses wore flowery dresses with lacey aprons & then they had their tennis shoes on, they were the cutest things. i would definitely go back.

This was seriously the best brunch I've had in my life and brunch is my favorite meal so I've had my fair share of brunches. If you only eat at one place in Gatlinburg make sure it's this one. My only regret is not having enough time while visiting the area to go back a second time. We had the tuna filet, the salmon burger, and the lobster pie. We shared all of them and had a tough time deciding what was our favorite. The tuna, after some deliberation, was my favorite. It was perfectly cooked and perfectly seasoned. Sitting on the patio was so peaceful I could have stayed for hours. The only thing I could find wrong with this place is that they called themselves a tea room but only had one tea on the menu. The ambiance was definitely that of an eclectic little tea room but there is no great selection of tea to be found. Though I promise after you try the food you will forget all about the tea.

Hidden gem in this tourist filled trap of a city. Charming place and service. MUST GET: Plum Tea - i don't even eat plums and these were OFF the chain. **TIP** you can try BOTH hot and cold for the price of 1! The homemade Jelly for the walnut bread was BOMB. ANYTHING OFF THE SPECIAL MENU - we got the salmon sandwich, the BEST i've ever had. I've had tons of wild salmon across the country, in all major cities and this was on very top as far as salmon sandwich goes. The cucumber slice on it was refreshing and the bread was soft. Warning... this is a VERY large sandwich. Lobster Pie - very good, no complaints. Quinoa salad- great. this was one of the 4 salad options for the day. Blackberry Cobbler w/ Homemade cinnamon ice cream - so good. Chicken Salad lunch plate - it was good, but its not nearly as special as the salmon or pie.

We had the best brunch of our lives at this place. We checked Yelp before we went there and we were confused of what to order because everything looked so great. So we ended up ordering three entrées. Salmon burger, lobster pie and grilled tuna. Tuna was the best we had specially with the sides that come with it. Lobster pie was great and salmon burger was amazing. All the salads were perfect. We didn't enjoy the peanut soup much. Everyone there was asking about the tea. It is everyone's favorite as they brew it daily for long hours and they add five alive to it as the waitress told us. The environment is awesome. Very colorful place with a quite relaxing atmosphere. I would definitely recommend everyone to go at least once to this place

This was my second visit to the tea room. The food is always excellent. Only one tea, hot or cold. Its good. On the sweet side. Would like other varieties of tea to drink. I had the tuna and it was very good. Other people I was with had the chicken salad. For dessert I had the peach schnapps, fresh and delicious. Others had the chocolate torte and the chocolate brownie. Very quaint and beautiful place.

I'm not giving a good or a bad review, as I haven't actually been here...I love tea and i'd love to go here, but theres such a small menu and no vegetarian options... :( I hope they update the menu!

High light of our trip food wise First we were welcomed by the owner with out reservation even though she was booked. Upon arrival u sign in and have a seat on her porch. (Call a head make reservations) while we waited we were served there special tea.. we are not fans of flavored teas but this was out of this world. It was time to order.. after reading the reviews on had the lobster pie with the collared greens while the husband had the salmon burger with the cheddar soup. WE LOVED IT ALL! If u don't come here... I hope we we never meet. I am a fat girl at heart and We agreed that every time we visit Gatlinburg this will be a must go to stop. The atmosphere is almost a southern tea room with a brunch environment but the owner will bring a Good laugh and family feel.

Incredible gem just ten minutes away from the main strip in Gatlinburg. Honestly if it wasn't for yelp I would have never ventured out to this place but we are glad we did. Small, cute, quaint venue with plenty of patio seating in the shade. Small menu but enough for anyone. In general the food seems very healthy and definitely fresh. I ordered the yellow fin tuna and it was sushi grade so I got it seared. Came out tastey and tender. Wife got the chicken salad and raved about it. Staff was also very cordial. Generally a small restaurant but we went on Saturday at 1230 and didn't have to wait at all. Highly recommend. Healthy alternative to all other Gatlinburg eats.

Just when we had consigned Gatlinburg to a culinary black hole we found this place. Actually it found us since we drove past it each day on our way to the GSMNP. Located in an old house hard by the side of Buckhorn Road, the Wild Plum Tea Room is almost embarrassingly quaint. Settled in amongst the pottery, woodworking, and painting shops, it is easy to miss. But don't, you won't regret it. After hiking around Clingman's Dome we stopped for a late lunch. Open from 11 a.m to 3 p.m. it is often packed but we arrived at 2 and had no trouble finding a parking space or table. There is overflow just past the restaurant on the right if the small lot adjacent to the structure is filled. After signing in we were escorted to a table inside the house. There are 3 seating areas; the deck, enclosed porch, and interior. We opted for the artificial environment. First thing you will notice are the paintings that adorn the clapboard walls. The second is that the floor is out of level. How appropriate for a building situated on the side of a mountain. Our server brought us walnut/ginger muffins with a mystery jelly that we foolishly forgot to ask about. The muffins are tiny but in combination with the jelly were delicious. We all ordered the plum tea (I loved the reviews castigating the restaurant for its lack of selection of teas-I get it, it is called a tea room but really?). Unlike most of the reviewers we all deemed the tea refreshing but unremarkable. Not sure what we were expecting but there was no discernible fruit flavor, just lots of sugar. I started with a cup of caramelized Vidalia onion soup. The soup was creamy but not overly thick with a delicate flavor generated by the small pieces of caramelized onions. If it is on the menu (which changes) get it! My son and I ordered the pit ham sandwich. Notwithstanding our lack of imagination the sandwich, served on a croissant, was very good. The thickly sliced ham had a hint of salt; with a distinct pork flavor (if you have ever smoked a raw ham you know what I mean). The croissant was real. Small thing I know but in a world of croissantwichs a nice touch. My wife ordered the Quinoa Salad. That's right in the middle of Tennessee my wife orders a salad based upon some miracle grain! Served with grapes and sunflower seeds on a bed of fresh vegetables I did not touch the thing but my wife loved it. What can I say, I am a savage. My daughter ordered the Strata. As our server explained it the Strata is a layered concoction consisting of cheeses, vegetables, bread and eggs. Ok, it's a quiche. Apparently not. Her Strata included sun dried tomatoes, spinach, provolone, and feta cheese baked in layers. The consistency is much more dense than a quiche with almost a sweet/spicy flavor. It was very filling and risking my savage status I tried some and wished I had ordered it. The service was outstanding with our server not only describing the dishes but how they were prepared. I think I forgot most of what she said before she was finished. The prices were reasonable, perhaps a little higher than the usual lunch but then the fare was definitely worth it. For one of the few times in my review experience I am giving a top rating and highly recommend a visit.

This is a shabby-chic old house on an artists road in a mountain. The cook was able to find food that worked for my milk allergy, and the blanched collard greens in a light vinaigrette were the best I've ever had. The sandwich was bland, and of our party, only the person who ordered the burger was exceptionally impressed. The dessert menu was impressive, but we didn't partake.

I come to Gatlinburg for the hiking and amazing sights, definitely not for the food, but this place is stand alone good enough to make me consider coming back even if the forests fell down and the waterfalls went dry. The tea is the best I've ever had (I got it cold, my wife got it warm- I recommend trying it warm) the lobster pie was savory and delicousness (super creamy and rich) the salmon cured sandwich was perfect, and the strawberry shortcake rounded it all off for a home run. Now onto the important stuff. The prices on the menu are pretty reasonable, but they don't say how expensive the chef specials are. My bill was $43 (pre-tip) for the lobster pie, salmon sandwich, two drinks and strawberry shortcake. Not terribly overpriced, but more than I normally pay for lunch. Just a tip, prices aren't listed, may be a good question to ask. The service was fantastic! They insisted that we sample dishes we were unsure about before ordering them, kept our drinks filled constantly, and had great recommendations. This place is a must go if you're in Gatlinburg!!!!!!

I went just to experience a tea room and that didn't disappoint. The Wild Plum Tea Room was VERY cute! But the dessert sampler kind of fell flat. I only cared for one of the three things. If I were to ever go back I'd have to get lunch and skip the dessert but I doubt I will, it was a bit pricey.

Nice atmosphere. We sat on the screened in porch at a corner table for two. There is outdoor & indoor seating available. Food was good. We both had the chicken salad. I had the quinoa salad, which was interesting & the tomato basil soup. I like how the soup is served in a dessert cup. It's unique. The bread pudding with amaretto sauce was the best thing. Delicious. The wait to be seated was very long. The 2 servers on duty were not enough. The owner was hustling, as well. She spoke to all people at tables as she worked. That always goes a long way with me. I did feel as if we were forgotten at our corner table. Tables are close enough one could easily join in on conversations. Your order/check is written on a piece on paper. I don't think I would drive out there again. We did stop at Heartwood on the way back. This is what made the trip worth it. Such talent! Different wood artists. Some carving with chainsaws. Very friendly. Check them out 1450 E Parkway.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, say what you will about a city boy like me traveling all the way to the mountains to eat solo at a dainty little tea room! BRING IT! I can take the ribbing.... LOL! Just you remember I'm still one of the manliest men around these here parts. Seriously, this is probably one of the girliest places I've ever eaten, but it was amazing. The Wild Plum Tea Room is located on the Arts & Crafts loop on the outskirts of Gatlinburg. Not much to look at from the outside and unless you are looking for it, you might just pass it by thinking it was some old flower shop or mill. Parking just outside the doors is limited and tight. But they also have additional parking just up the road. Charming and quirky are the first words to come to mind. Outside is a garden with weird things. Inside you will find small round tables with lace coverings and very girly table settings. Yep, I was the only guy there, but that proved to be a good thing as the ladies treated me very kindly, knowing I was a little uncomfortable being in a place that would clearly repel most humans with my O.L.D condition - overload of testosterone. THE FOOD I was extremely hungry, but also wanted something that wouldn't make me feel heavy after such a rigorous workout. They start you off with complimentary Wild Plum muffins. Two petite little bite sized pieces with a clear, yet flavorful jelly. I'd read in reviews from both Trip Advisor and Yelp that the Lobster Pot Pie was the dish to try, so I did. It was AH-MA-ZING! What really surprised me was the amount of lobster inside. Large chunks of lobster claw meat along with artichoke hearts floating in the most incredible sauce I've tasted in a long time, just below the flaky golden crust. Pure perfection. The bread pudding was a perfect end to my meal and be sure to try the Wild Plum Tea. I drank nearly 5 cups of it. THE VERDICT My 8 mile hike to Ramsey Cascades today was very difficult on my body. I was in so much pain that I sat exhausted at my table and considered leaving to go back home to Atlanta after a good nights sleep. Ironically, I was encouraged to finish my second goal of hiking Mount LeConte by several ladies I met here. Turns out my visit to this restaurant today did a lot of good for my mind, body, spirit and belly. TRULY and literally a hidden gem! Fellas, check your man pride at the door... you'll be happy you did. Bon Appetite.

What a fabulous spring meal!!! The wait staff truly treats you like you are friends coming over for lunch...if those friends made some of the most awesome food around! I had a salmon burger that was a awesome fresh thick salmon fillet that had Panko bread crumb topping and incredible mayo / dill sauce. They were awesome with the kids, and I must say it might have been one of the best grilled cheeses ever for them. My wife has a gluten allergy and they are incredibly accommodating! Everything was phenomenal and the setting is gorgeous. Awesome.

Who would've known this place existed? I mean, WOW it is amazing! If you can find it this restaurant is a must see in Gatlinburg. It is a bit pricey, but for good quality food it is worth it! Such an eloquent little cafe. I really wish they offered more than one tea considering it is a "tea room".

The Wild Plum Tea room is amazing! This is my second time coming here, and my memory from the first time did not disappoint. The atmosphere is very quaint, but even more that that the food, and tea are delicious. First if you are going to go, you have to try their speciality the Wild Plum Tea. They do not offer any other type of sweet tea, but you won't be disappointed, even if you do not like fruity teas. The food there is also fantastic. Some of it is certainly not as good as others, but the Sherried Tomato Bisque and Strata of the day that I had were absolutely wonderful. The soup tasted like vine ripened tomatoes. The strata is like a quiche but denser and packed with flavor. For dessert I had the amaretto bread pudding and I have never had a better bread pudding. I also sampled the blackberry cobbler and found it be just as good. I definitely recommend the Wild Plum Tea Toom if you are in the area!

This is a must stop on our trips to Gatlinburg. Today we tried the fruit and cheese plate. The fruit was super fresh, as was my salad. The tomatoes were garden fresh. They also make their own ranch, very good. The Wild Plum tea and muffins were delightful as always! This wonderful little spot is along the crafters loop, so plan to make this a part of your day.

I had the Lobster Pie and my wife had the Salmon Burger. We both thought we had the best dish. The pie was full of lobster claw meat, and only the good pieces. The burger was plump and larger than we expected. Everything was wonderful.

Best meal I've had during a month long stay in the Smokies. I had the Lobster Pie with collard salad. My husband had salmon sandwich with broccoli potato salad. All fresh and cooked just right. We both had wild plum tea and shared the bread pudding. Everything was excellent. Service was great, atmosphere charming and fun. We have always rode right past this place and talked about maybe trying it. I am so happy that we finally did!

I cannot say enough good things about this cafe. After suffering through a few meals in a row of heavy, overbearing Southern cooking drenched in carbs and fat, I had lunch here on a recommendation and it made my whole day. I'm amazed that a restaurant only open for lunch (11-3 Mon-Sat) could make a go of it, but after eating here I'm no longer surprised. I was served by the owner herself; this seemed to be an all-hands-on-deck operation (I was later informed that one of the servers is the genius behind the housemade ice creams and frozen desserts). I was seated on the breezy, peaceful screen porch, which had a burbling tiny creek running just outside at my feet. The restaurant is charming and shabby-chic, with lace tablecloths on the eclectic furnishings, the food served on lovely antique china. Kacy, the owner, upon seeing my indecision on a glass of wine to go with my lunch, brought out multiple bottles for me to taste the wines on offer! I've never had that kind of wine service at a restaurant. The standard menu is small but creative, but supplemented with many daily chef's specials. I had the smoked salmon sandwich with a quinoa salad on the side. Both were absolutely delicious. The quinoa salad featured fruit and a curry dressing, and the sandwich had avocado on it. I couldn't resist a dish of the housemade pink grapefruit granita for dessert - it was exquisite and exactly what I wanted. My dessert coffee was served in a charming hand-thrown ceramic mug. When I used the facilities I saw that the restaurant is bigger than I had at first thought, with room for larger parties on the upper floors. Located on the Arts & Crafts community loop road, this cafe is well placed to break up a day of shopping and sightseeing in noisy Gatlinburg - an oasis of peaceful elegance and gracious Southern hospitality, as well as fantastic food. I wish I lived nearby so I could make this a regular stop.

The best & healthiest food, atmosphere and amazing tea!!! Oh my gosh! This was the best dinning experience I've ever had. I wish I had discovered this place sooner. You must check this place out! Extremely unique, quaint and surrounded by beautiful Smoky Mountain Forest Trees. I'll be back tomorrow

We arrived at12:30 and were seated at 1:15 to order only to find out no more lobster pie. Was told they sell out every day but why offer a meal and not make enough to at least get to 2:30. Yes, it was a busy day but leaf season is their busy time so that should not be a surprise. No one had the courtesy to mark it off the list outside of daily specials. Otherwise you are offered very mediocre selections. We would have left if only it had been marked off for the day. Their tomato soup is not seasoned and almost watery. Atmosphere lovely but can't eat ambiance.

Oh, the plum tea! Quaint, quaint setting tucked roadside on the Buckhorn Road spur of the Arts and Crafts Community loop. Clear mountain water trickled and burbled just on the edge of the covered patio on a sunny spring afternoon. The food, for a tea room, was hearty. The tasty chicken salad had sizable chunks of chicken. The red pepper corn chowder served with cold collard greens was divine. You must try the Wild Plum Tea. Hot was better than cold because the flavors were not diluted by the ice. And, fellas, don't fret about the fact that it is a tea room when your wife drags you across its dainty doorstep. You will quickly notice plenty of other guys in there - also pushed across the doorsill by their wives. Just relax and enjoy the pleasant ambiance and excellent food. Date of Visit: 15Mar14

This was a cute place for lunch and tea. My sister had the lobster pie which seemed to be a restaurant favorite. I had the chicken salad. Lunch was very filling and the tea was awesome! This place made for a wonderful girls afternoon!

What a wonderful little gem! Located on the 8 mile loop this place is a must! The food is amazing and they cater to all dietary needs. I had the egg salad with pimento cheese made gluten free with gluten free crackers. It was delicious! My side was blanched collard greens with a balsamic reduction which sounds like nothing but it was amazing! I could have eaten an entire plate of just that! Everything that was brought out around us looked so good and you could hear nothing but positives from every table!

Oh Goodness! Where to begin about the Wild Plum Tea Room?? I adore the Wild Plum Tea Room - its certainly a world of it's own. Southern whimsy at its finest. It is one of my favorite places to stop, relax and treat my self on occasion. My favorite is to sit outside on their deck nestled in the trees, with my tea, a book or note pad, and just take in the beauty and relaxing environment while I wait for my lunch. Its really one of those types of places where you eat as slow as possible to not only enjoy your food, surrounding environment, but also because it's so inviting, you almost don't want to leave. I'm certainly the off the beaten path type of diner, getting away from the hustle and bustle of the area along with it's mass list of chain microwave food restaurants is refreshing. Certainly worth the stop in!

Entering the Wild Plum Tea Room is like skipping into another reality. Fresh and light and painted with blackberries. The tree kissed entrance is an intimate and warm portal into the wholesome and the homestyle: featuring thick local honey! and an aesthetic that sweetens your goosebumps and licks your eyes, curing your itch for anything but the moment, your meal and your companions.

Hubby and I enjoyed a very creative and tasty lunch at the wild plum tea room today. We were blessed with gorgeous weather and opted to sit on the deck. My chicken salad had huge chunks of chicken and apples and was topped with almonds. It was served with plenty of fresh fruit and a small scone. Hubby ordered the ham and cream cheese sandwich which he enjoyed. It came with a tomato dill soup unlike any I have ever seen. It was a broth based soup with hunks of tomato and mozzarella cheese and herbs. He also got the blackberry cobbler with ice cream. All this was washed down with their "wild plum" iced tea, which is actually citrus flavored. We liked the tea enough to buy the recipe card to try it at home. The menu is creative enough for the adventurous, but with enough old favorites to satisfy us old fogeys.

Finding myself disappointed with overwhelming high reviews and praises. It is a quaint place with personality. The plum tea..hot or cold is about the BEST thing there. The folks were very nice but service was wayyy slow. To boot it was our waitress first day and they must have pulled her off the street because she didn't have a clue. Food was tasty, nothing exceptional. Menu is very limited. I would not go back.

We went here on a beautiful spring day last year and absolutely loved our experience. We sat on the deck and was immediately attended to by our wonderful server. Our meal was amazing. I had the lobster bake which was their special and it was to die for!! Great place, off the beaten path. Will definitely be back.

We stumbled upon the Wild Plum as we headed down the Arts & Craft trail. There was a small wait when we arrived. But we were able to chat with some very friendly people. The inside was so cute and quaint. We ordered the chicken salad and the lobster pie. It was to die for! If they didn't close at 3pm, we would have been back for dinner! The plum tea was the best tea I have ever had. The staff was very nice. It was definitely the highlight of our day!!

Wonderful service. Beautiful serene restaurant, especially great when you want to get away from the ridiculous crowd in Gatlinburg downtown. Loved Lobster Pie. Surprised that there isn't much in tea choices. But I enjoyed the food and atmosphere. I recommend Wild Plum Tea served hot for better flavor. But cold one is very refreshing too.

The wild plum tea room is a wonderfully serene place to eat and enjoy lunch. The prices are very expensive but the quality of the food is amazing. I highly suggest the wild plum tea and the lobster pie. MUST TRY for anybody who lives or is visiting Gatlinburg!

The Wild Plum is a true gem in Gatlinburg. It's quite a drive for most people, but well worth the trip. The building is so cute! Country chic at it's finest. My husband said he felt "like a bear" in the little chairs and fru-fru trables, but he changed his opinion once the food came out. The tea room may only have one kind of tea, but that one tea is all that is needed. It's just that good. He had it hot. I drank mine cold. Both were terrific. I ordered the trio which had the chicken salad, soup of the day (sherried tomato bisque) and salad of the day (dilled pea). All were great. The chicken salad was the best I ever had. The soup....OMG! SO good! The pea salad was refreshing and scrumptious. My husband had the salmon burger which he enjoyed. We both wanted more of the soup. The food is not only excellent, but it's so fresh. The ladies who work there really know their stuff. Your drinks never run dry and they know everything there is to know about the menu. The dessert menu (which was rattled off to us) is extensive. We didn't have dessert just because we couldn't decide which one to order. LOL Next time we are in Gatlinburg we will definitely have to try a dessert sampler though. Don't miss this place it's the best thing since sliced bread! Thanks to the nice man at Apple Annie's for telling us about it.

Romantic and Original. Tucked on the side of a mountain road sits this wonderful tea room. First thing I think is I hate tea. As we walk up I then start to think how this would be a great date place. Nice bottle of wine, alittle chow, some snuggling in the car on the way to the cabin's hot tub and then as Marvin Gaye would say, Let's get it on:) But, that would have to be another day, as my inlaws and kids are looking at me as we sit down at the table. Lol. My fantasy destroyed, I order a Fat Tire Beer and review the small menu. Our server who's a proud mother of United States Marine explains the specials and is really friendly. I order the Tuna Melt, which a comes on a large English muffin with cheese melted on top with an apple slice. It also came with a cup of homemade tomato soup. I loved the tuna melt because it was not watered down with mayo. I really hate mayo to a certain extent, so biting into sandwich was perfect. Good amount of albacore tuna, the crunch of the apple was a perfect balance. I didn't think the English muffin was toasted which is the only thing I didn't like. Overall, it was a pretty good sandwich and I would order it again. The soup hit the spot and I want to say there was alittle truffle oil on top. The soup wasn't your basic tomato soup, it had small pieces of tomato and herbs in the broth. I wish I had a small piece of bread to dip in it. I enjoyed it. Service was outstanding. All the women, didn't see any men, were very helpful and quick to answer any questions. The ambiance as I stated above, breathed a sexy country romantic vibe. I know the words," Tea Room" doesn't sound sexy but I guarantee, if you and your loved one get dressed up, get there around dusk, turn off all your electronic devices, share a drink and talk, you will thank me. You may even name your baby after me:) What have we learned here today, Tea Rooms can be romantic and sexy. Also, Tea Rooms serve more than just scones and tea. Good job Wild Plum and I hope to come next year with just me and my wife:) Remember to tell them that Dan sent you and Stay Hungry!

My husband and I were looking for a place that didn't have HEAVY food, and after doing some research, we decided to give the tea room a try. I warned my husband that there might not be too many men here, and I was right :) It was a very rainy day, so outdoor seating (which I'd hoped to have) was not an option. There was a short wait, and then we were seated in the center of the main house. The inside was very quaint. The wild plum tea, which we had iced, was very good. Almost Arnold Palmer-y (with a sweet citrus flavor). The menu is very small--just a soup and salad of the day, a few sandwiches and chefs specials. My husband had the chicken salad and fruit, which he said was OK. I had the salmon sandwich, which was also OK. It had a TON of salmon in it, which was a nice surprise. In retrospect, I wish I would have had the lobster pot pie. The nice surprise came at the end. Our waitress recommended we try the dessert sampler, which had a bread pudding, brownie sundae and flourless/sugarless chocolate cake. All three were amazing. Made me wish we'd almost just gotten dessert! I really can't complain about anything inparticular. I think the positive reviews maybe inflated my expectations. And $45 for a lunch is a little pricey for our experience.

My husband and I found a *gem* in the smokies! After spending the entire morning checking out local artists studios, we stumbled upon the Wild Plum Tea Room. One of the local artists recommended it and said with a laugh..."bring me back your left-overs". Then, she went on to say that she has been saying that for 20 years.....and no one has ever brought her back anything!! Now, I know why! My husband ordered the Plum Tea which came "highly" recommended and loved it. Then, we both ordered the Chicken Salad with Fresh Fruit and a scone. Excellent! We decided to both try a dessert, and ordered the trio of homemade ice creams and a brownie sundae. Nothing was left..... Excellent service. Excellent food. Excellent atmosphere. Wish they were open for dinner!! We will be back!!!

Lovely and quaint tucked in the mountains off the beaten path. We ate on enclosed patio on warm spring day. Yummy citrus iced tea. Delicious lobster pie and salads. My middle school daughter had pork sandwich that she really liked and so did my husband and I -tender and nicely seasoned. The homemade ice cream and Mexican cookies were very good. Limited daytime hours but well worth it ~ away from the hustle & multitudes in downtown Gatlinburg.

What a delightful restaurant, garden setting in mountains. Excellent attentive & gracious service, delectable food offerings....everything fresh and homemade. We had the lobster pot pie, creamy with large chunks of lobster, Wild Plum muffins, and a scrumptious watermelon/feta/blueberry salad. I'm a foodie and I bought their cookbook !!! (and a gallon of their Wild Plum tea and 2 dozens muffins to go). We topped it off with the dessert sampler. We definitely recommend this spot on the Artisan Village trail.

Meh. Where to start? ... We so wanted this to be a gem and artisan eatery in Gatlinburg. And on the surface it appears that way, HOWEVER, our only experience there was far from picturesque (think Chevy Chase). It's far from Gatlinburg downtown. Parking is limited, so we walked on the road to the restaurant. No big deal, but with elderly parents and a toddler was not ideal. The host saw our two year old and sat us up stairs in corner with the "big parties" table. This location was also closest to the bathrooms (read on for a good laugh). Our waiter was not amused by our cheerful toddler (highchair broken, so she sat on my lap). The young, male waiter was the stereotypical, inappropriately snooty "I'm better than you because I am a local liberal who works in the art district". Someone should clue him in this is Gatlinburg we are talking about, not Manhattan. The wild plum tea was good but too sweet for my liking. We all had sandwiches with various side salads. The Kobe steak sandwich was really quite good. Of the four side salads we had between us, no one thought them good enough to finish. About half way through our so-so meal served by a pretentious prick, we were serenaded by a staccato flatulence of impressive amplitude from the open-at-the-top bathrooms separated from us and our lunch by a mere piece of painted and wallpapered plywood. Our table and the large party next to us were uniformly entertained, then horrified. In total, there was a group of six older ladies that used the bathrooms and provided background "music" during our lunch. Needless to say we lost our appetite ... And later that day our bowels rumbled and we made our own musical tribute to the "wild plum".

We visited a couple of restaurants (after reading the reviews) while vacationing in the area and we chose this place as it seemed to be one of the best rated. The location was actually pretty close to our hotel, which was nice, and it was well off the strip so it was a great place to have a quiet lunch. We were able to eat out on the patio under the trees by the stream, it was lovely. It was a really nice change of pace to eat something that wasn't so heavy! The menu offered fresh fruits and cheeses and daily specials (the salmon burger was delicious) and I appreciated the unique flavor combinations and the reasonable prices. I do have two criticisms, though. I ordered the chicken salad and I found the chicken to be overcooked. I could tell it had been boiled too long as it was tough and chewy. If you do order the chicken salad, be aware that it has a different spin on the traditional recipe -- they actually use nutmeg, which I didn't enjoy as much as I have other spices. Also, I was kind of bummed that the tea came sweetened. I really wanted to give it a try, but opted out because I didn't want to ingest all of the sugar. I think an unsweetened version would be a great addition.

I am not sure where all of these other people went. Our experience was mediocre at best. First, when going to "tea" room I expect there to be a variety of tea. They had one; their own specialty tea that appeared to be from a powder. No other teas to be found. The food was good but nothing that could not have been made at home, at least as well, maybe even better. The watermelon salad had two small pieces of watermelon, some blueberries, and some feta. It seemed to be tossed onto the plate. The service was good, the wait staff was friendly and attentive. All of the servers knew the menus and would help when your glass was getting empty.

We were encouraged to visit Wild Plum Tea Room for lunch. Management need to inform waiting diners about the wait time, and to maintain the policy of following what is set down. Diners have an expectation that they are important to their business and when things go wrong, that they have a better answer than 'that is the way it is done'. 1 Dissatisfied customer will complain to 8-10 people and post on Trip Advisor, if their problem is resolved they will be your best advertisement.OUR NEGATIVE EXPERIENCE.On arrival we were advised by fellow diners waiting to be seated, that we needed to place our name in the book which we duly did. Due to our Aussie accent, fellow diners suggested it was worth the wait and asked our opinion of the region. Greeneville where we stayed for 4 weeks is the friendliest we have ever met in the USA.I did check with the hostess the possible length of wait for a couple, which she stated would be about 15 minutes. Several times in the following 45 minutes she came out to inform people prior to out listing that they were to be seated. During this time the list grew longer with at least 20+ people waiting their turn. With our name next on the list, the hostess deviated from calling our names to ask anyone who was prepared to sit outside. Before we could answer a couple jumped in, taking their chance to jump the list of all waiting. Fellow people were shocked and suggested we continue to wait as it would be worth it. We had now waited an hour. I decide to try and discuss our disappointment with the staff, just to be told that, 'that is the way it happens'. We walked out and halfway through the car park our names were called and fellow diners waiting, chased us to let us know, we continued to walk. TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT.

We had 2 call ahead & reserve the house special, Lobster pie, b/ c we arrived just as they were about 2 close down for lunch @ 3pm, to make sure they still had 4 servings of this house specialty . My StepMom had been 2 this restaurant previously & said this was an absolute must try while we were visiting Gatlinburg. She was absolutely correct!! We ordered another specialty of the house their citrus ice tea & it was tangy & delicious, enhancing the flavor of our meal. The main course was served w/a choice a 3 salads, I had the spinach salad w/a tart, sweet pineapple salsa & raspberry vinaigrette. My husband had the keenwa (sp?) salad which is a "super-grain" that has taste between rice & couscous w/pecans, very tasty. The lobster pie was creamy & delicious w/large chucks of lobster. The crust was light, flakey, & buttery. The cost of the meal for my husband & I was $ 44. It was worth every penny! One of the most enjoyable meals I've had in a long time. The ambiance is high end home cooked meals in a lovely converted home that feels like you are having a gourmet meal in a lovely home environment. This is an absolute must when visiting Gatlinburg!

Absolutely great find on the artisan trail in Gatlinburg. My wife had the chicken salad and I had the lobster pie. Both were delicious!!! The homemade iced tea was also very good and I am not usually a fan of tea. Great atmosphere too!

We had heard good things about The Wild Plum Tea Room and made a 40 minute drive. When I arrived with my wife and two small children it was 32 degrees and snowing (26 Mar 13). We went in and half the restaurant was empty. I waited to ask if we seat ourselves or is a hostess would seat us. When the employee that made eye contact three times finally came over she said there is a sign in on the porch to sign in and wait outside, outside in the 32 degree weather. We went outside, signed in and waited. We waited for five minutes while the server cleared tables in a half empty restaurant while we foolishly stood in the literally freezing cold. We came to our senses, wrote too cold to wait on the sign in sheet and left. Never have I seen incompetence and rudeness like this. This restaurant does not deserve anyone's business. I would ask them if they would like to be treated like we were. I wouldn't ask someone I didn't like to wait in the cold with their children while I did tasks that could wait until a guest was seated. Rude, rude, rude.

Before we ventured out to the Wild Plum Tea Room on our recent New Years weekend trip to the Gatlinburg area we saw that the tea room was highly rated and sounded like it would be right up the alley of what my girlfriend like. After making the trip from Sevierville to their location we found out that they are closed in the "off season". It was our fault in that we didnt call to check hours and sort of just assumed that they would be open given the tourism industry in this area but were disappointed when they werent open. We had checked into their website (there wasnt one ... only some site for a music site / recording studio) . I would just say to check Hrs before you make the trip out into the middle of nowhere to check them out if you are from out of town.

If you are looking for something that is not a chain restaurant, and you appreciate a meal you wouldn't find anywhere else, this is it! I had the special, which was lobster pie and it was to die for. My husband had a fritata that was also very tasty. If they are serving the apple cake that day do not pass it up! Restaurants like this are hard to find in the area, and I hope everyone that goes can appreciate it as much as we did.

This is a really cute place! I love tea rooms so my husband and I went here for lunch during our vacation to the Smoky Mountains. The wild plum tea is really good, and honestly, not too sweet like I thought it might be. The mini wild plum muffins are also yummy and come with your meal. I had the chicken salad platter that came on a bed of lettuce w/ a scone and fresh fruit. My husband had the chicken tortilla soup-yummy! We each had a fabulous dessert-the flourless chocolate torte and the blackberry crisp w/ cinnamon ice cream. They had limited hours-Monday-Saturday from 11-3. Would def. recommend!!

It was a pleasant surprise to find this cafe while in Gatlinburg as there aren't a lot of good restaurants in the area. The servers were very friendly and the food was delicious. Their signature tea is delicious (particularly when served hot) and the wild plum muffins with plum jelly are just as good. Their lunch options are light and flavorful. The presentation was also pleasing. As for the desserts, I recommend you order the sampler, which comes with three small portions of their daily selections- delicious! If you are in Gatlinburg and want to avoid the tourists filled restaurants downtown, this is the place to go!

This place was amazing. Its quiet southern elegance makes it a true hidden treasure of the Smokies. The food was great, the service was exceptional, and the atmosphere outside was calm and relaxing. I definitely recommend checking this place out. One word of advice though, skip the salmon sandwich and opt for the lobster pie. Make sure to try the tea as well. You won't be disappointed.
