Big portions! I love cajun food and had been wanting to try this place for years. We finally made it for lunch. The sandwiches were tempting but I went with the jambalaya and gumbo as I really wanted to try both. Since I was ordering two entrees I thought I will just get a cup instead of a bowl and have a little taste of both. That was stupid of me because if you look up by the cash register they have a cup and a bowl so you can see how big the portion is and trust me it is a lot of food. I hate to be wasteful but I could not finish them. The important thing is I got to try both and they were great. We try to go to places we have never been before when visiting Gatlinburg but this place will go on our must return list. The restaurant is a small little place in the back of a shopping area. I would rather eat at a small local place like this over a chain restaurant any day. The service was great.

Great New Orleans flavor. Shrimp and fish battered lightly and flash fried the way seafood should be! Service was excellent. Waitress was friendly and very helpful.

Great local restaurant! Kind of out of the way from the main strip but excellent New Orleans food! The staff is friendly and makes you feel at home. While waiting for your meal they give you markers so you can draw on dollar bills to hang on the walls, which end up going to charity. The portions are large, not a fancy restaurant, but a great place to stop by and get lunch or dinner. A can't miss if you are tired of all the usual tourist chains.

Being from New Orleans I expected better. The Gumbo tasted like it was out of a can. My fiancé had a sandwich and the meat was just like the packaged one you buy at the grocery (not even deli sliced), the beer battered french fries were frozen. The decor IS great, BUT, when I asked the waitress where the pews had come from and she replied the cathedral (meaning St. Louis Cathedral), I then knew she was full-o-bull. She never came back to the table to check on us, not that it mattered, I ate 3 bites of gumbo and drank the rest of my water. No... I would not recommend spending your $$ here. . Sorry fellow New Orleanians.

Amazing food and amazing service. One of my favorite places to eat! I highly recommend eating at this restaurant. My favorite thing to get is the shrimp sandwich, My new wife and I will be going back very soon.

This is now called the New Orleans Sandwich Shop. It is actually located in the very back of a strip mall. As the name would suggest the decor is very Mardi Gras. Unfortunately it makes the restaurant look a little dingy with dollar bills stapled to the wall and lots of writing on the wall. In the center of the room is a large fireplace that I imagine would be extremely inviting during the Winter months. They have a set menu but numerous specials that are limited based on availability. I opted for the Crawfish Étouffée and it was delicious. My only complaint was that it was too small for the price. Service was good. This is a family owned restaurant as the owner's daughters are the waitstaff. Overall a nice little find and family owned. Stop in if you are looking for a little bit of New Orleans in Tennessee!

This place is great! I had the club sandwich and my hubby had the roast beef. Both were excellent! It's small, quaint and family owned. The service was wonderful. Very glad we decided to eat here!

Cool little place tucked away in a corner. Food was pretty good, we both enjoyed the roast beef sandwich.

Me and my wife decided to give this place a shot. I ordered the jambalaya and she got the gumbo. The sausage in mine was a little overlooked for my taste but her gumbo was awesome. French bread came with it and they give you three pieces. Atmosphere was awesome and the staff was super friendly. It was a great experience all around. I will definitely stop by next time I am in town.

Do not waste your time or money. Shrimp etoufee was watered down and bland , a bowl cost $9.99.....The crescent burger meat has a great taste, but you get nothing with it for $7.99. The teenage waitress actually argued about true New Orleans food. Took forever for the food to be served. Waitress actually said "we have a small kitchen.". Needless to say it cost $23.00 for two items and a coke. Never again.

We had not planned on coming here for lunch but we enjoyed it. It is very peaceful compared to the restaurants on the main strip. The place is decorated to make you feel like you are in New Orleans. The prices were very reasonable and our po boys tasty. One negative was the lack of high chairs or milk for our 1 1/2 year old.

We saw fliers for this place and were sort of hesitant to try it. After walking the strip and hiking all day we were starving. This place is nothing fancy by any means and literally a hole in the wall. Tucked away in the back of a shopping strip off the main road. Once we walked in it was like were were teleported to New Orleans. We were greeted by the owner and his sassy waitress daughter who was hilarious. I ordered the shrimp po boy, our friends had jambalaya and the fried fish. My husband ordered this huge cajun seasoned burger on french bread with seasoned fries. We were all jealous when the burger came out. It is honestly enough for 2 people to split and be really full. All of the portions were huge, freshly made and delicious. Don't pass this place up!

Tucked away, in a slightly odd location, this isn't the type of place you expect to see in downtown Gatlinburg. The food was fair, although incredibly fast and friendly service.

One word: BAD! We went and ordered 3 poboys and 1 salad. The poboys were on wal-mart quality bread and had wal-mart ingredients. It was nothing but sickly looking tomatoes, lettuce, some mayo and deli meat - something you could make in 5 minutes at home. That's what I'd call a "sandwich" not not po-boy like you'd get in Lousiana. The salad was nothing but iceburg lettuce with a bunch of packaged ham (which again, looked like bargain Deli Meat from Wal-Mart). And it was all EXPENSIVE!!! $10-$13 for repackaged wal-mart bought food. And not only that, but all the food was served on paper plates and the napkins were paper towels. Not that I care about those things if the food is good, but I think it goes to show that the owner's are not after any kind of quality. Basically, this restaurant claims to be authentic cajun food, but is really basically just a bunch of sandwiches and salads that resemble something an undergrad bachelor would make between classes in his dorm room from the cheapest ingredients he could find. It's cheap ingredient sandwiches packaged as "authentic Cajun" food.

Roaming around the mountains can really rustle up an appetite. Wrangling 5 kids and a set of in-laws only adds to the hunger! After a great viewing at the aquarium, some Cajun fare was exactly what the doctor ordered! I opted for the traditional 'Nawlins stuff; red beans and rice with a side of jambalaya (OH! the carbs!!!). I was not disappointed. With just the right amount of heat, both dishes brought this little joint to great hole-in-the-wall. Flavor was great for both, as if Mardi Gras was happening in my mouth! The decor was a sleeper. Dollar bills were slammed on all walls as well as the ceiling where folks had drawn and colored them so interesting that the conversation mostly hinged around "Look at this one!" Little hints of New Orleans kept creeping in from the light zydeco in the background to the loud purple, green, and gold that assaulted the eye! Overall, great little place hidden in the middle of the mountains! Noosh!

This place is great! Do not come for the 'ambience' or to impress your future mother-in-law, but the food is downright tasty. I had the red beans and rice with sausage...scrumptious! My partner ordered the French Dip, which was huge, but it was so good she ate it all! It IS somewhat out of place to find a New Orleans style place in Gatlinburg(?) but it is worth searching out. It is tucked back off the street in one of the little shopping alleyways and we almost went someplace else while looking for it, but glad we kept looking. The whole family is from New Orleans and we will go back if we are in town again!

We had a great lunch here. It doesn't look like much. We kinda were forced undercover by a sudden storm and there it was, but we all really enjoyed our food. Huge portions. I had the beef and ham sandwich with gravy. (can't remember the name) which I split with my mom. The soup was just OK.

Little hole I the wall place with below average food. I've been to new Orleans and the gulf area and this place does not due the name proud. My girlfriend got sick from the sandwich she ate. And the crawfish ettoufee is by far the worst I have ever had. And to topic off it was kinda pricey!!
