The pizza was good but we waited an hour and a half for it to be delivered. The lady that answered the phone was very rude and when we called to check the status of our delivery, she was even more rude. They probably need to invest in training their employees on phone etiquette or look into hiring someone is who much nicer. Also our wings weren't good at all. We will never order from here again.

Ordered from here hoping it was going to be better than normal chain pizza. And that's exactly what we got, great delivery. We had large supreme and large veggie lovers and order of bread sticks. I also ordered an extra marinara sauce which I was happy to see that I received. The pizza was much better than the average chain and the marinara tasted home made. Would definitely order again and recommend if looking for deliberate.

The absolute worst pizza we ever had. When we opened the box, the cheese was a huge puddle that had melted off the paper thin crust, and you couldn't even pick up a piece without it completely falling apart. We were scooping pieces up and eating mush. The breadsticks were the frozen kind you can buy in a box at a local supermarket, and barely warm. Even though we don't live in the area, we would never go here again if we came back for a visit. Terrible.

Wonderful food. Pizza was amazingly good. Service was not so good. Maybe just a bad day for her. But will not just one time be a bad review. Must stop and eat the pizza and wings.

So we placed our order for delivery at 10:00pm and told it'd be there in 45 minutes. After an hour of waiting called to find out what was going on. They told us traffic was bad and we were next. We waited a total of 2 hours for the guy to show up. I noticed a $10 difference between the price it should have been and the price I was charged. Their "receipts" are hand written in whatever codes they use at the store with no prices for individual items. I asked the driver how much our breadsticks were, and he told me that he didn't know. He said he didn't work at Luigi's, he works for Giovanni's, who owned both places, and that they called him to help out. For those who are even thinking about ordering here for any reasons whatsoever, please do yourself and your family a favor and go somewhere else. I would stay away from Giovanni's as well since they are owned by the same people. They know you are a tourist, they know you won't be around long enough to cause them any real problems, and they act accordingly. I don't know how this place made number three on pizza delivery, but they should just close their doors, and I hope enough people read this review to force them to either close or change the way they handle orders and customers. As far as how the pizza and bread sticks tasted? They are not even close to being worth the wait, and they are FAR over priced for what you do get.

Decided to order in at our hotel instead of going out into the cold and crowds. Luigi's had some interesting pizzas. Placed the order and was told that it would be a while, at least an hour to 90 minutes because of traffic in town. Ok, cool. I appreciated them telling me that upfront instead of me waiting and waiting and wondering where they are. I ordered the stuffed meat lovers pizza for my BF and I got the Greek pizza. Now apparently they charge a pretty hefty delivery fee. With tax & tip for a large and medium pizza it cost $49!!!! Holy cow! I don't remember seeing a delivery charge on their website, nor was I told about there being one. Also, their website tells you the names of the pizzas and even has pictures, but no descriptions. So I spent a bit of time on the phone asking the guy, "what's on the blah blah pizza?" He had plenty of time to tell me about the delivery fee. The pizzas were good. Not sure if my crust was house-made or bought. I probably wouldn't do that again, but it's a decent place.

Rude on the phone. Wouldnt even give me ideas of what was good and referred me to their website and told me to call back when ready. How about no thanks. Didnt call back....ill take this red flag and previous reviews for what it's worth. I dont like rude people.

Gyro and salad to go, salad was dry, gyro meat was crunchy dry and the gyro bread was dry as a cracker. We got back to the hotel with no fork, salad without a fork FUN! O and they had no $10s for change.

The pizza was average tasting, nothing really special about it. The garlic knots were all knots, no garlic or any sort of flavor. It was like eating a pretzel.

  • Gina B.

Pricey for what you get. A large is the size of a typical medium. We ordered the meat lovers thin crust, very salty and the crust was soggy. We're told it would be ready in 45-an hr which seemed way too long for pick up. Then was called and told it had been ready for 10 mins and it had only been 40 mins. If want subpar pizza go down to Pizza Hut and save your money.

Was staying at a Gatlinburg hotel and was looking for a quick meal. Called Luigi's (because they slid coupons into the door) and was pleasantly greeted, helped, and given good service. Ordered a medium hand-tossed half chicken bacon ranch, half Hawaiian pizza. Since the CBR was listed as $15.99 & the Hawaiin as $14.99, I was shocked to hear my total was $28.91! Apparently they charge the full price of one & half price for the other when you do a half & half. Uh, ok. Pizza was delivered very quickly & was pretty good (especially the CBR), but the price left a bad taste in my mouth.

My over all experience = not so good. Feel free to stop reading, or keep reading to find out why. Was in Gatlinburg on Saturday and debating where to have lunch. 4.5 Stars from Yelp. Pizza sounds good, so let's go. Cute little restaurant with two tables for outdoor seating. Luigis has all sorts of cool things growing out of their planters = rosemary, italian basil, peppers. The restaurant was not crowded at all. Our server was just okay. She really didn't do much - we got one refill after we were done eating and our glasses had been empty for a long, long time. What we ate: Deep fried Mushrooms ($8.99) - really gross - they were barely warm on the inside and very mushy - obviously from a frozen bag. Large Greek Pizza: ($18.99) okay but a bit salty between the feta, olives and pepperoncini. Large Luigis Special: ($18.99) way too much sauce - and the cheese although melted didn't seem melted enough (strange) - maybe had been sitting out before it was brought out and recongealed? The waitress did remove the Fried Mushrooms off the check - I credit her for that but we had to remind her as well. So, just kinda disappointed. Every once in a while a well reviewed place can have a bad day or maybe the reviews can sometimes be inflated/skewed. Which was it? I don't know. As always, judge for yourself. Pizza is hands down my favorite food (I'm a New Yorker who has also lived in Italy) and I know good pizza when I taste it. Today, this was not it...

We ate at Luigis Pizza last weekend. I had a fantastic while pizza. My boyfriend had a sausage sub. He loved it while he was eating it. However, he was up all that night vomiting. Some part of that sandwich was bad. The service was great. Had to wait kind of long for our food. Waitress was friendly and the other staff was personable as well. The environment was clean. The prices were just about average for our order. We were happy with the meal experience it self, had it not been for my boyfriend getting sick.

My family and I arrived into Gatlinburg late and were too tired to go out. We decided to order pizza and there was a flyer in our hotel room for Luigi's. The flyer advertised a special of extra large pizza with wings. When I called to order I was told that was a mistake and the pizza was a large not an extra large. I made the mistake of ordering it anyway. I was told it would take 40 minutes to be delivered. 2 hours later I get a call saying they would be arriving in 10 minutes. At this time it was nearly 11:00 at night. When it finally arrived I was shocked to find the price was way more than I expected (they wouldn't give me the price on the phone). The delivery guy snapped at me when I questioned it and told me that Gatlinburg charges 12% tax. (I looked it up later and found that they charge 9.75% and most likely Luigi's charged an additional 3% tourism tax - which no other place charged while I was there). It would've been nice to have received a receipt but he "forgot it at the store". The pizza was cold and fell apart when I picked it up, probably from all the grease. Plus it was really salty. I ordered mild wings but the wings I received were so hot we couldn't eat them and my son loves spicy food. Next time we will take the time to stop and get something and avoid Luigi's.

Beer was cold. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. Side salad packed into the bowl. The Special pizza looked like a frozen pizza yet tasted surprising good. All ingerdients fresh and flavorful

Food was good. A decent meal, especially if you are looking for something other than the chains that have taken over the town. My husband & I both had spaghetti & salads. I initially got a Cesar salad, thinking I would have that for dinner, but despite the $8.99 charge, it was not a dinner sized salad. The salad that came with the dinner was a very nice side salad, almost as large as my "dinner" salad. Garlic bread was hot & yummy. My husband had a draft beer & enjoyed it. The servers were very pleasant but somewhat overwhelmed, the 2 women bussed tables, took orders, seated people, refilled water glasses & delivered food, which lead to service being slow. The couple next to us had pizza & baked ziti & both enjoyed their food. I'm always on the lookout for the perfect tiramisu (perfect, meaning wonderfully delicious & homemade) but sadly our server shared that theirs was not homemade so I decided not to spend the calories. If I could, I'd give this restaurant 3.5 stars but since I can't I'd rather have you consider this place for dinner than not.

Was looking for a place to get a good pie, I figured a place by the name of Luigi's would deliver and I was correct. Walked in about an hour before closing and were the only peeps in the joint. Ordered the chicken parm pizza to try something different, it was just 2 of us so we got the medium and it was the perfect amount to fill us up and not have leftovers. The pizza was amazing and I liked that it was away from the craziness on the strip. Go here, get the chicken parm pizza and be happy. Simple as that.

Amazing food. Everything tastes fresh and homemade. Service was a little slow, but the great food made up for that!

Meh... Delivery took an hour and a half (but hey they do deliver). Wings were sub par to say the least. No blue cheese after specifically asking for two in the initial order. Called and they were bringing it right back. No show, no follow up. The Lasagna was small, expensive and lacking flavor. The Chicken Parmesan sandwich was all of 2 chicken tenders with a smattering of cheese n sauce = WAY over priced. Thank goodness there are many other restaurants in Gatlinburg. Needless to say, I'll pass the next time around.

Pretty good. Love the stuff crust meat lover. The large is plenty to for 2 people. It's more than enough. The meat lovers is a waiting heart attack but it was so delicious! The crust is awesome! We went on a Monday night. Pretty empty, but don't let that prevent u from going! The waitress was very friendly!

Best pizza in Gatlinburg. Quality ingredients and the crust is to die for. When we got there it was rather busy and the staff was overwhelmed. Nevertheless they were all very friendly and kept up well. Atmosphere was pretty good. Better than your average pizza shop. Despite all the people there you could still have a conversation. Next time I'm in the mood for pizza here, I'm going to Luigi's.

Was walking around Gatlinburg and had no idea where to eat stop at this place just on a whim.we ordered the lasagna in it of course came with a salad and also got a drink there.Service was real good at the time of course it was not real busy at the time but but got busier as the night went on.when they brought it out of course the lasagna was in a bowl which was sitting on another bowl just because of how hot the plate was which surprised me because it was hotter than any other place that I've ever had so that I knew the service was quick coming out of the oven. My wife is definitely a pickier eater then me and she loved the food. She said it was the best was on you she's ever had we had a little bit of leftovers and definitely enjoyed them as much as the first time. I would definitely recommend this place, and will stop back when I'm in town.

Very impressed. Visiting with family during Christmas week. 5 of us had lunch here and all really enjoyed our pizzas. One was a custom sausage/pepperoni and the other a super supreme, both very good. Had cheesy bread to start, good as always with the marinara sauce. We were stuffed! Service was attentive and prompt, glad we stopped here.

Our food was wonderful! I got the meatball sub and my husband got the meat lovers calzone! Both were big and yummy! Definitely coming back to try their pasta... Just wish their prices were a little better..

Food was ok. Service was ok, waiter did his best. Could tell he was new and received no help from management. owner/manager lady didn't smile once and didn't lift a finger to help out. She sat in the back of the restaurant drinking her coffee, very unfriendly lady. Pizza was crappy. Seemed like they used frozen pizza toppings. Won't be back and you shouldn't either.

Ate here for a midnight snack. They were about the only place open with real food near our hotel. We had traveled half the day and had an early supper so after site seeing and visiting with friends we needed food late! We shared the ham sub and it was great, reminded me of old Pasquale's Ham Sandwich. Hit the spot for us.

Great little restaurant - very glad we stumbled upon it. They have great seating - both inside and out. The pizza was outstanding - we hand the hand-tossed crust which was really good. Even my 18 month old son loved it - none of it got the floor like at home!

Absolutely the worst ever. We were a party of six. They claimed after a 45 minute wait that they had lost the order. The resturant was not busy and no one could explain what happened. The waiter and manager got surly so we left. Since we were with our grandchildren who were now starved, we left and went to mellow mushroom down the street. Don't waste your time here. Not worth the trouble. I would give negative stars if possible.

Not bad. We ordered the margarita pizza (medium) and 10 (hot) wings. Total it was about 32$. So pretty pricy. The pizza was tasty but a little on the oily side. It was very fresh. The wings however were amazing!!! Perfectly cooked and the sauce had just the right texture. They were so flavorful. They were hot too! Some places clam to have hot wings and the turn out mild. This time, we ordered hot and got it:) soooooo good. They were a good size as well. They are open until 2 am and deliver if that your thing. However, our hotel was about a 5 min walk away (motel 6) and they would charge 3$ for delivery. Unless it was pretty dark out, no thanks :)

We frequently come down to Gatlinburg and usually get pizza from Best Italian. We tried Luigis because they delivered to our chalet and the pizzas looked interesting. They told us it would be an hour to an hour 15 minutes. But it took literally 2 hours. And it was very expensive. They must have added on a lot for the delivery. It cost $6.99 for an average garden salad that there was absolutely nothing special about. The garlic bread was chewy. The pizza was pretty good and the sauce that came with the breadsticks was good. But Best Italian was way better, tasted much more homemade, much better salad and much better value.

Was really excited for this pizza after reading the reviews but it wasn't really that special. It was good and the medium fed 2 adults and 1 child (7 pieces total). The biggest issue we had was the smell--the restaurant had this funky smell that hit you as soon as you walked in. Not appetizing. The server was struggling with English which isn't a big deal but he had a hard time understanding our order so we had to reorder with a different waitress. Soft drinks were $2.99 each!! Get water.

I'm not sure what's the fuzz with Luigi's but I went there with my son and ate Buffalo Chicken and a Margarita pizza and we were disappointed with the food, price and overall quality of the pizza. In conclusion, not worth the price. 2 Stars because the chicken wings were decent, at most.

  • V P.

Disappointed to give a bad review, as the food was great. The main reason for the low review was the extremely poor service. The server was slow, made errors in the order, and appeared out of their league. We were seated promptly, but did not get attended to for 15 to 20 minutes. Took nearly half an hour to get drinks and nearly an hour to get the food - of which several items were incorrectly prepared.

Loved the pizza. I had walked by this place several times and the smell was amazing so we decided to try it. I was not disappointed at all! I only ordered plan cheese and normally I wouldn't rave over it but this was very good! I would definitely recommend this place and I will be returning the next time I'm in Gatlinburg! Plus our waitress was awesome!

Fantastic pizza and breadsticks! We had them deliver to our hotel around 10:00 pm one night and couldn't be happier! The pizza was better than any a area pizza place. Even some of the favorites. They have a HUGE menu, I can't wait to try more. They are one of the few places in gatlinburg that actually deliver. My husband wants to try their gyros. Their menu is quite extensive!

When I enter the restaurant I was a little concerned because they had 1 table at 6:30 pm. Pizza was good but I ordered a large and when I went to pick it up it was very small! I told the cashier I ordered a large she said that was a large. when I got home my company noticed it was only 8 slices and when we called to place the order the gentleman told me a large was 10 slices. I called to explain the situation to the manager since I paid for a large and had hungry company, thinking he'd want to make it right... He told me sometimes the large are only 8 slices. I told him I was surprised because that's not what I was told previously and it seemed a lot smaller than any large pizza id ever seen his response was "ok" with attitude! Never again luigi!

Great hand-tossed crust. We ordered a large Super Supreme. The pizza was plenty for two, and we took several pieces home. Friendly service and reasonable prices. Great little place if you want to avoid the packed and overpriced chain restaurants and tourist traps.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
