The skillet breakfasts are the best!

Our service was very good, our waitress was very nice to us, we were asking her lots of questions and making some substitutions and she was very relaxed about it all. Food was great, portion sizes were much more than I could eat! I got the Spanish skillet with scrambled eggs (which was very good) and I substituted the Reece's pancakes for the regular ones, which I highly recommend! Very sweet but good. Overall a good experience and I would definitely come back if I was on the strip.

Amazing food great service food came out very quick. I enjoyed my waiter he was very nice and quick with our food. Recommended to go there 5 stars all day

Awesome Pancakes.... The entire family enjoyed breakfast here. The food came out very fast, service was great, milk was ice cold, syrup was warm, bacon was crisp, and butter was whipped

This place is always packed. It doesn't matter what day or what season it is -- Flapjacks has been a Gatlinburg staple for about 10 years now and never ceases to have a lot of business. Comparing it to some of the other pancake joints, in the area, I find Flapjack's to be just slightly above mediocre. We came here as a second resort since Pancake Pantry was an hour and a half wait on a Saturday morning. We did have to wait for a few minutes, and I have to say the hostess lacked to find us. When we went back in to check and see if our seating was coming up soon -- she said she had passed up our table ten minutes ago. We we standing right outside the door!!!! Ugh. We sat down, and waited another 7 or 8 minutes for a server to come to our table. Once he did show, he was really nice and was more attentive to us. I ordered the powdered french toast with a side of bacon that were so dried and my fiance got the southern pecan and pancakes with a side of pork sausage links and eggs. The food was alright. His scrambled eggs were so dry too. Not sure how you can dry out food that bad. I was tempted to send mine back, but he said to just not worry about it. Not going to make my way back here immediately. I think I would rather have the near 2 hour wait at Pancake Pantry than eat here.

Great Campfire Skillet Breakfast! The earlier you get here the shorter your wait. We got lucky and only had a fifteen minute wait. They have an upstairs but it wasn't open. They must have been short staffed. I had the Townsend Skillet which was two eggs with bacon or sausage with skillet potatoes. I ordered mine with scrambled eggs, sausage, and a side of white gravy to pour on my skillet potatoes. It comes with two buttermilk pancakes. The only thing that would be better is if you could get other pancakes with it instead of buttermilk. Everything was great. We were expecting to wait awhile for our food because the place was packed and there were people waiting outside to get in. We were pleasantly surprised when our food came out after about fifteen minutes. The service was great. This will be a regular breakfast stop on return visits to Gatlinburg.

I ordered the multigrain chocolate chip pancakes with a side of bacon. Pancakes were alright but nothing special. Didn't end up finishing my pancakes because I got tired of the flavors. Service was also mediocre and too slow for anyone who is starving. I would only advise coming here if all the hot spots were 2 hour wait.

We stopped for one last breakfast on our way out of town and though there was no wait and our waitress was fabulous the food was nothing to write home about. First of all, our coffee tasted so horrible my husband was convinced he got a spoiled creamer & asked for a new cup. The next was just as terrible, so it was definitely the coffee. Both of our potatoes were so over cooked they made the meal taste bad (burnt) but since we had already asked for new coffee we just didn't finish the meal. Luckily, the side of pancakes were good & filling. So I suppose, if you go to a place named Flap Jacks you shouldn't venture from the namesake or you'll be disappointed.

I would give it a 5 star review, but we spent over 50$ for 4 people!! Everything else was amazing. The food-yummy! The service-amazing! It wasn't noisy like almost everywhere else we had been. We only waited a few minutes. I def recommend it!!

  • David G.

I probably would have given Flapjacks a better review for their food, but the service was subpar. First of all, Flapjacks waitress, non dairy creamer is not half and half. Maybe it's just my food snob mentality, but if it doesn't say half and half, it's not half and half. Instead of arguing I used non dairy creamer, which I am completely against, in my coffee. That was just the start of our service mishaps. The waitstaff just kept getting everything wrong, from things as small as serving us regular pancakes instead of blueberry pancakes to just plain being inattentive. The strawberry pancakes were pretty good. My food knowledge compels me to also mention that a flapjack and a pancake are not the same thing. I'll let that one slide, though.

Quickly seated and greeted. Coffee was hot and service was friendly. Nothing too overly impressive about the food. Typical pancakes. Nothing else on the menu really and no options for anything healthy. Good for breakfast on the go.

  • Alana J.

Service was horrible and the staff tried to tell us what we ordered when the order can out wrong - and what food did come out right was underdone...much better places in town to get a much better breakfast....

My husband just had to eat here on our last morning in Gatlinburg. BIG MISTAKE. Our server was nice enough, but it felt like she wished we had stopped somewhere else. Our food order was pretty simply; eggs, ham, I ask for grits since I couldn't have any bread or gravy... not a biggie. First off, we had waited so long after our order was taken we had decided if it wasn't there in 5 more minutes, which would have us at the 40 minute mark, we were leaving. Four minutes later our food was delivered. We finally got a refill on our coffee when the food was delivered. It was as if the server just ignored us since our food wasn't coming. Oh yea those grits I ask for were the worst tasting mess I've ever had and being born and raised in Georgia, I've had my share of grits. They tasted like wet cornmeal. I will say this, we have eaten there before and it was ok, but based on our experience this time I'll be happy to never go back there.

If you're having breakfast on the strip you owe it to yourself to eat here. The pancakes were delicious and the homemade syrup was even better. Good down home country charm that will not leave you unsatisfied.

  • A M.

Great chocolate chip pancakes and plain cakes. This breakfast was way better and cheaper than others we have had here!

    (5)
  • Damian S.

The only reason this restaurant is open is because the Pancake Pantry isn't big enough. The pancakes are doughy and tasteless.

  • Aaron Kocourek K.

Great food, moderately priced, helpful service and a very short wait time.

Maybe we got lucky because we went right before peak season, so our wait wasn't bad at all. I used to go to the International House of Pancakes (not IHOP) but realized they had closed and are now a Bubba Gump Shrimp. I was pretty bummed at first because I bragged about their chocolate chip pancakes half the ride there. We stayed a little ways off the strip, but not too far to walk, and this was the first pancake house we reached. My stomach was growling as loud as a bear's and I was really hoping there wouldn't be a wait. We walked in and were seated right away. Our serve looked a little exasperated as she quickly hurried over to take our drink order, but she was very friendly and apologetic about our wait. We didn't consider it a long wait by any means and she let us know that it may be a few minutes before she could take our order. because she had just gotten about 5 tables back to back. We have both served tables in the past, so we were in no hurry. Expecting a wait, we were very surprised with the service. Our drinks arrived promptly, food came quickly and was delicious. I tried the cinnamon roll pancakes, and holy wow were they amazing!!! The icing dripped off the gooey sides and the cinnamon just went right into my tummy. YUM. It was incredible and now on my drive down I'll be talking about how good Flapjack's is. We will definitely go back next time we are in town. Loved it!

  • Maureen G.

There was no wait, although I could see there were well prepared for waits with seating and hostess stations. We had good service with a little playfulness from staff. Our orders came out correctly. One order of crepes had a taste of vegetables. I informed waitress and it was removed from bill. Overall, a good experience.

So it may be a bit of a chain, but flapjacks is great! Love the log cabin feel and great coffee! Friendly servers and down home cooking food is awesome!

    (5)
  • Andrea Florence J.

The food was plentiful and good. Biscuit and gravy really good. Too much food for me to finish. Staff was friendly. I would eat there again for sure.

    (5)
  • Samantha O.

Nothing to write home about. Over priced too. Both my husband and I had biscuits and gravy, eggs, and bacon. I drank coffee and my husband had orange juice. Everything was good but I would have preferred the same thing from Cracker Barrel.

  • Travis W.

Can't give zero stars. Don't tell families with starving kids that the wait is 20 minutes, then make them stand around for an hour. They did that to everyone. People looked as miserable leaving as they did waiting three times longer than they were told. Just absurd.

    (1)
  • Carole L.

The food is good...too good...we are too much!!! Best breakfast we have had! The skillets are delicious and the pancakes come Fresh off the griddle delicious.

    (5)
  • Lis T.

Food was good, however the service was horrible. We waited for our check for over 20 minutes while the waitress made numerous trips past us.

Of course on a Sunday morning it's going to be busy, I expected that. However, the restaurant is not really set up to accommodate waiting parties. Most patrons had to wait outside next to the busy main parkway. This wouldn't have been too much of a hassle if the hostess actually attempted to find everyone when it was there turn. On multiple occasions, she just opened the door to stick her head out and yell for the next name on the list (more like talked in one direction, away from many who were waiting) With so many people in the area, plus cars rumbling by, there were many people who were skipped due to not being able to hear the hostess. Needless to say, my party's name was skipped and it took a good ten minutes of watching others go in and out to resolve the situation. The place itself is pretty cramped, many tables were being shared by different groups of patrons. As for the food, it was just okay. I had the "works" omelette, nothing too spectacular about it. I skipped on the grits, but they did not look too appetizing to begin with. The pancakes were pretty good, my boyfriend loved the Reese's Pancakes they offered. (Be warned they are COVERED in chocolate, peanut butter and whipped cream) Our server was nice and prompt, no complaints there. Overall it wasn't a spectacular visit but since we had waited a good hour or so to be seated, we just wanted to eat and go about our day.

  • Heather A.

Standard breakfast food. Everything tastes like pre-made, even the eggs. Wait staff is friendly and attentive, and food was delivered quickly, but overall we were not impressed. Average American tourist food.

    (3)
  • Leang E.

I guess they aren't as busy during the weekday mornings. Our server seemed really bored as he was very attentive asking us countless times how everything was. I had the Walker's Cabin Skillet. This was very filling and huge, and delicious. Our meals came out quickly. It was probably the first meal I wasn't able to finish. The pancakes were tasty as well. The prices were reasonable. They also have a souvenir shop area where you can buy stuff.

  • Regina L.

First visit today. The food was okay, nothing that stood out as special. I had scrambled eggs (they were very dry), bacon (which was not crispy), grits and toast. Service was slow but friendly. Nice touch serving the drinks in mason jars.

  • PG S.

I would not waste time eating at this Resturaunt. The staff are rude, food was cold. Hometown Resturaunt... I expected more from a Resturaunt whose income relies on tourists.

  • Dalton Q.

The place was full but we were seated right away. The pricing was affordable, the decor is typical of Gatlinburg with lots of wood. The bacon was raw, and I mean what I am saying ( RAW ). The eggs were fine, but here is where it gets horrible and that is the grits and potatoes smelled and tasted like they were laying next to a dead animal for days. They tasted rancid although they were obviously cooked properly. I have no idea what they did to the food to make it that bad but it stayed with my mind for two days. I was so grateful for the next days breakfast somewhere else. The service was nice it was just that the food was so horrible. Oh the coffee was kind of tough to drink as well. We wanted to have a Gatlinburg breakfast and were so disappointed. When we got up to pay we never mentioned it to our server or the cashier. We just left feeling that complaining wouldn't have done any good. What are they going to do change basically their methods around us? We didn't feel that would happen so we are just recommending you try somewhere else, anywhere else and if you go here don't get the potatoes or grits unless you want a negative memory of your visit. Best of luck if you go here because I won't be.

Didn't meet our expectations. Pan cakes were too thick and club sandwich was just ok.

    (2)
  • Ed B.

Food is ok wait time is longer than you are told. Plan on spending 1 to 2 hours for breakfast on weekend. I recommend going to Pigeon Forge vs. Gatlinburg. Spend you money at Old Mill restaurant.

I had the absolute best biscuits I've ever had in my life with my meal; they were the perfect blend of flaky and soft buttery golden deliciousness. Paired with country ham, fried eggs, and grits, they provide the perfect gut bomb breakfast one needs before visiting a place like Old Smoky Moonshine distillery --or the morning after. Seriously the biscuits are freaking good and alone are worth the 30-40 minute wait our party of two experienced. I HATE to wait, so that means a lot, coming from me. I even put them above the over-hyped biscuits at the Loveless Cafe. In short, if you're in Gatlinburg on the strip, you owe it to yourself to eat here.

My parents ate breakfast there on 6/6/14. It was disgusting. They ordered gravy biscuits. They did not serve them biscuits but hoecakes that were raw and had some mystery blue stuff in them. The blue stuff was not food, but no one seemed to know what it was. My mother complained mildly to the waitress who took the plate over to the manager. He simply shrugged his shoulders and shook his head. No apologizes were made to my parents for such a revolting meal. The full price was charged to them. I typed this review with my mother's permission. She does not currently have internet access.

Food was good and prices are also good. We had no complaints. The staff was super friendly and the place was clean.

We came one morning and ended up coming back another, but I could have come here every morning for breakfast. The Belgian waffle with added pecans was delish and the warm maple syrup is a nice touch. I really enjoyed it and we had fairly good service both days. I'm already drooling thinking about it! We'll be back next year!

Excellent price and food. A must stop if we go back.

We went here on Easter morning so it was pretty packed but we didn't have to wait but a minute for a table. It has a old antique Southern theme to it and is very quaint with benches in some of the booths that are surprisingly very comfortable. The service was very quick and friendly. My daughter had the classic buttermilk pancakes & I had grits & toast. They were real grits, none of that instant junk. My daughter loved the pancakes and she got filled up quick. I gave some of the leftovers to my dog & she loved them too LOL! This place is right on the parkway & there is plenty of parking nearby but it cost $10 so walk here if you can. It's a great place for breakfast before headed up to Cades Cove or exploring all the sops & attractions on the parkway.

  • Jenni R.

Everything about this place was good and yummy. Would have gotten 5 stars, but the wait was so long. Bacon was crispy and biscuits were delish!

My wife and I went to Gatlinburg for our 1st year anniversary. One thing I wanted to do while in Gatlinburg is eat some good old fashion pancakes! Flap jacks fit the bill and did not disappoint! :D Great taste, great staff and great prices! I even bought a mug to remember them by!

  • Dee O.

Pretty decent food. We ended up here because the line at the Pancake Pantry was way too long. I was starving after running 13.1 miles and was actually able to easily finish everything on my plate. We didn't have to wait very long (we got there around 12:20 on Sunday) and service was good. The food wasn't particularly memorable but it wasn't bad either. Likely won't go out of my way to visit again but may consider it as an option if my first choice falls through!

  • Chris B.

Took the kids there for a late morning breakfast. The server seemed very bored and never made eye contact. She brought the flimsiest, smallest styrofoam cup of milk to our toddler. The food was mediocre at best- the omelette was scrambled eggs with toppings added- not a true omelette at all.

    (2)
  • Brian H.

My wife and I ate here on our way back to Nashville. The wait was a little long but there were a lot of people there. It felt longer because we were both starving. The coffee was good and so was the sweet tea. I ordered the pork chop breakfast. It was really really good. The best part was their biscuits though. Holy moly I could make myself sick on the biscuits and gravy! Amazing is all I can say about them. I would go again next time I'm in the area.

    (5)
  • Tracy P.

Went here for the first time. Service was okay. Pancakes were tasteless. The biscuits were like cornbread, maybe that's a TN thing. Overall, the food lacked seasoning except the bacon was good. Nothing to brag about. I will stick with IHOP.

    (3)
  • Marion R.

Better get there by noon because at noon they start a rapid clean up process but nice place to get a good breakfast. Little steep pricing for breakfast but good.

Visited Pigeon Forge this weekend and wanted to try Flapjacks Pancake Cabin so we drove over to Gatlinburg to check it out. The parking at this location was horrible! $8.00 to park. We tried another location that was 3 miles before this one but it was filthy and the customer service was not the best with the large groups of people coming in there they couldn't keep up. Anyway once we sat down we ordered the spanish skillet. It was very good but the pancakes were just okay to me. Nothing to write home about.

  • James G.

    I can't eat this much.

  • Vanessa N.

Good food great service. Ordered our food and was shocked how huge the servings were! I had a breakfast skillet which came with a side of pancakes. I ate about half my food so the meal really could have been split. I dislike ordering breakfast skillets and the potatoes taste like they have been soaking in oil. Was not the case with my food. Husband had the steak and eggs and was also pleased with his food. We also ordered the Bear waffle for our son who loved the look of it. My daughter also loved her food. Cute mason glasses to drink out of. We will definitely visit again when in Gatlinburg. I cannot give anything leas than 5 stars considering the cost, service, and taste of the food.

  • Karla B.

This place is the ish! We were in a pretty large group and we got attended really fast. Once we sat down, our waitress was ready to take our order's. I had the peanut butter pankcakes which were to die for!! It was my first time trying them and I can't wait to have them again. My husband had the smokey mountain skillet and he loved it! Everyone was very pleased and we left very full and happy. Outside the resturant they have brochure's and in a few of them they have a 10% off for this resturant so be sure to use it!

Service is great, food is unbelievable! Try the Reese's pancakes! Reasonably priced.

Good food, good service, love the log cabin decor. The pancakes are flippin' awesome! Seriously, the best thing about Gatlinburg is Flapjacks.

  • Kathryn V.

The service was great.. Very kid friendly. The ac didn't work very well downstairs but upstairs was perfect. The gift shop was cute and super cheap. I great place to get good food and service for the whole family. Only downside was the sausage.. I just didn't like it.

  • TIFFANY H.

Flapjacks wasn't our first choice- We tried to go to the Pancake Pantry, but the line wrapped around the building and didn't look like it was moving at all. Everything was delicious and our waitress was a blast. Excellent service. Good Breakfast foods. They helped serve our 10+ party in less than 10 minutes. My new hubby says: "The scrambler was awesome!"

My wife and I went to flapjacks for breakfast yesterday morning and the food was Okay and we were greeted by a friendly host. My 1 star rating is because of the following of which I fully admit I am partially responsible for being forgetful. After dining we paid our bill and left. 10 minutes down the strip I realized I left my phone at the table so we ran back to retrieve it. The phone was gone and none of the employees had seen it. Fast forward to later that afternoon when the phone was tracked to some new apartments in Newport TN on Elena Lane (home of the phone thief). When we returned this morning to see if the manager might be able to help us he looked like a deer in the headlights when we told him we knew my phone was taken and where it wound up - someone at this restaurant knows where my phone is and I am asking that you please come forward and do the right thing. Someone knows the person who lives at or has a connection to the new apartments in Newport. I can not recommend this place, not at all. And yes, I do know that leaving my phone behind is a real boneheaded thing to do.

Pretty good, service was the best part. Food was ok, coffee was old, and the proportion between pancakes and the rest of my breakfast was vastly different. All in all it was ok

  • Karen B.

Coffee was ok, good amount of food for the money. Loved the drinks in the ball preserve jars

  • Erin B.

Spanish Omelette Spanish Omelette Spanish Omelette Spanish Omelette eeeeee SO GOOD!!!! Order the Spanish skillet with scrambled eggs. Delicious (and it tastes natural... They don't overload it with fattening processed stuff)! The waitresses bring you your drinks in moonshine jars too :D

Around brunch time, I was craving pecan pancakes, so we went to flap jacks for the best breakfast I have had in a long time! The pancakes eggs and sausage were delicious and I was full until 4pm! If you ever go to Gatlinburg, definitely visit this place.
