This place is excellent! Great menu, service, and delicious food - generous portions. Delicious deserts. We had the Greek salad and chicken Parmesan - both are incredible and very authentic. I can't believe I've lived in this area for 15 years and have never been here before. Will definitely be back.

Had the Gyro with Greek salad. Both were exceptionally good. Also had burger and fries. They were good. The dining area was nice as was the server and the background music. As a bonus, the men's restroom sink handles turn on in both directions so if your left or right handed, they always work!

My family and I go here from time to time. The family that owns this restaurant is Greek and very kind to us!! I ordered the Spinach Pie (essentially spanakopita) and it came with a fresh side salad. The spanakopita was good..They also bring out buttered bread. At the end of the meal they treated us to fresh watermelon! Everything on their menu is delish and the servings are huge. They do not joke around about serving good hardy portions. I've also tried the chicken lemon soup along with the stuffed chicken - both great choices!

Iama Critic Rating - Coach House Restaurant - 5 Stars 127 East Shockley Ferry Road, Anderson, SC The Quick Critique: My first five star Italian / Greek restaurant! Finally a great gyro in the Upstate! And the lasagna... simply amazing! And get this, the prices are reasonable. That makes this Italian restaurant worthy in my book of a very rare 5 Stars! The Long Story: After experiencing the epicurean disaster that was the highly over-rated and expensive Da Vinci's Ristorante Italiano, I needed a seriously good Italian fix with maybe a little Greek mixed in. Thankfully a friend told me about Coach House and I decided to give them a try. Soon the memory of my horrid dinner the night before was melting away in marinara sauce. My skilled and vivacious waitress handled my questions and order with elegant ease! She instinctively provided what I want most from a great waitress, social interaction! An art she has honed to perfection! In a day where every schmuck thinks he can be a waiter, my awesome waitress exposed them all as wannabes, seemingly without breaking a sweat! After the terrible waitress I had at Da Vinci's, my Couch House waitress was a breath of fresh, sweet, luxurious air! It was like being bathed in attention! The Food: $8.95 - Lasagna - Daily Super Special - 5 Stars This "Thursday Special" lasagna came with a marvelous bread stick, but the real joy was in the bowl. You know how restaurants now days are serving those ridiculously large plates or bowls with huge rims and nearly no actual food. Just like the pathetic "Taste Of Italy" I had at Da Vinci's! Well at Coach House this entree came in a huge bowl with a immense, "inches thick" serving of lasagna! And this was not just a large portion, put it was supremely flavorful. Even the next morning when I had it cold for breakfast! For under $9.00 this is a real "Super Special"! $9.45 - Broiled Flounder - 4 Stars Originally I ordered fried flounder but later I noticed that they offered it broiled. My awesome waitress made the change happen, because that is what good waitresses do, they are "Customer Advocates" in the kitchen, even when their customer makes a mistake like I did. Soon I received this wonderful broiled flounder. Blackened and perfectly spicy and wonderfully cooked. I prefer grilled fish, but my preferences are irrelevant to this review. This broiled fish came with two veggies, so I ordered pinto beans and gravy and rice. The pinto beans were as good as pinto beans get, but I found the rice to be boring, especially when tasted after sampling the awesome lasagna! $7.95 - Gyro Dinner - 5 Stars Coach House offers a gyro in several fashions. Just a sandwich, a plate and then a full dinner. I naturally ordered the dinner because I was told it came with the most gyro meat that way. This gyro entree comes with rice, and fries or a Greek salad. Since I left Chicago and moved south I have been looking for the best Gyro in the Upstate. I have been to dozens of restaurant that claim the made the best gyro. But none have ever compared to the Gyro Express in Villa Park, IL. Well, the Coach House makes a gyro that comes the closest yet, and their gyro is a better value! The meat is all important in a gyro, it must be thick, but not too thick, crispy but not at all dry or overcooked! And Coach House has added their own spin to the gyro by adding a flavorful white rice to the mix. I must say I have never tried this combination of condiments before but it worked beautifully together. The yellow tomatoes added a sour twang that went perfectly with the tzatziki sauce. It may not be the perfect gyro, but it is perfect for $8.00. Desert - 5 Stars When this huge bowl of peach cobbler with French Vanilla ice cream and whipped cream arrived at my table, I thought I had died of diabetic shock and went to Heaven! And what a way to go! This is nothing but a bowl full of SIN, a bowl of shear indulgence sensual pleasure, a bowl so flavorful it is worthy of repentance later, just get some now! You know you want it!

I had the chicken parm, and it was great! Nice side of some multigrain fresh baked bread and spaghetti with a nice, slightly sweet sauce. Prices are reasonable, service is fast and friendly. The menu has Italian, Greek, Southern, and American traditional dishes including fish, steaks, chicken, and an excellent selection. My only regret is that I haven't visited this place more often.

The Coach House in Anderson is a family run operation. The staff is friendly, the food is great and the prices are moderate. You will not leave here hungry and will be satisfied or the owner will listen to your remarks. Billy and his staff care about your business and it shows. Instead of getting ripped off at others places give the Coach House a try and you will be glad you did. Bob A
