So we were scoping out highly rated places on Yelp and, well, FIVE STARS is pretty high, eh? Anyway the place is a little out of the way but easy to find. Be prepared, it's a dive. When you get there, go on in ... Honestly, we thought about backing out and going home but braved it, girded our loins, and went on in. No need to be afraid, it's all good, great southern hospitality. Burgers were excellent. Hefty, tasty, well prepared patties served on a well constructed, well prepared sandwich. I had the "Big Sexy" burger, a bleu and bacon burger on quality ciabatta. Wife had the Patti-melt burger, cooked to perfection with grilled onions and melted cheese on a fine swirled rye. Well done, honest and quality food these were. For sides we had French fries and Carolina caviar. Neither was in any way impressive but neither was bad in any way either. Okay so after the shocking appearance, and after deciding NOT to ask where the restroom might be (none in sight), and after freezing our socks off (eating area is all of 300 square feet and had two doors to the outside opening on a cold winter day), and after the mediocre sides we were left with two resonating impressions... 1) Wow were those good burgers, and, 2) these girls are doing a great job with this place. We'll definitely be hopping by next time we're in the area.

Exactly what you want it to be. Small lunch stand along side of small farmer market, with indoor and outdoor seating. Really good ingredients. Worth driving out of the way for.

Outstanding breakfast! Two farm fresh eggs, local sausage, home fries, and a monster fresh made biscuit all for $4.25. Best ever. Will never pass this place up without stopping again. Can't wait to try the local burgers too.

For $6 you can get two eggs, bacon or sausage, grits or home fries, biscuit or toast, and a sweet tea! This place is great! I will be here at least 10 more times.

Happened to be on the area and tried this little place for breakfast. I was pleasantly surprised by great quality food, including free range eggs that were delish! Lots of locals here, very friendly. Was told the sandwiches at lunch are huge.

I've been putting off saying this because it is by now cliche - but - Best burger in this town. If you live here you're going to make a skeptical smacking sound and name your favorite burger place in town. Go ahead, get it out of your system. Hey, I've eaten those too and very likely enjoyed them. But this is better. Another reviewer has already said it - it's the beef. You can dress it up however you like but the center of this thing is a delicious serving of grass-fed beef. On a ciabatta bun. In seven or eight glorious incarnations. What brings me back to Barnwood however, is the variety. I don't need a burger every time out. Homemade chicken salad wrap? Sure! Wow- it's delicious. 1/4 pound frisco dog? Perfect. Grilled pimento cheese (homemade, of course), love it. And with a side of home-style chips, too. We can cover the breakfast another time. Just - go out of your way and your schedule to eat here.

Great food and service. Locally sourced ingredients. I try to have a meal here every time I am in the Anderson area. (Can't go wrong with anything on a biscuit, but the gravy is no joke).

An excellent alternative to crappy chain restaurants that plague the area... All local ingredients make for the freshest breakfast outside the farm. Great service, great good at a great price. I will definitely return. The biscuits and gravy are delicious, a must have for a first timer.

Everything here is top notch. The owner is on site and she is a true artisan where the food is concerned. Almost everything is locally sourced - bread, beef, produce, sausage, etc. I've been twice and will be back for more. This place has been around for 2 years, but it still seems a fairly well kept secret. As outstanding as this place is, it won't stay hidden for long.
