Five stars. New York bread and bagels? Sold. A delicious olive tapenade to put on my bagel? Sold. Delicious grilled cheeses that come with dipping jams? An honest to goodness muffuletta? Really close to my beach cottage? I'm in. This place deserves much better reviews from much better people.

I'm not sure why they don't have more than an average rating because Misquamicut Sandwich Co. is far from mediocre. The only thing keeping me from going all the way to 5 stars is the price point. MSC is definitely gourmet & you get what you pay for. On a recent trip I dropped $25 for a sandwich, salad (with chicken) & a Boylan's soda. My sandwich was phenomenal but I can't sustain dropping that kinda money on lunch that often. They are similar in mission to Ten Sandwiches & are close in price too. I guess the difference is in name: touristy Misquamicut vs Taylor Swift's Watch Hill? For the record I'm a huge Ten Sandwiches fan & don't mean that as a slight in any way. Enough about price: the sandwiches are pretty awesome. I order from them almost weekly & always get their grilled cheese special as you can see from the pictures I've posted. They aren't crazy creative but they are crazy delicious. As simple as a grilled cheese is you can still mess it up but I've been amazed every time. I always get my order to go but they have a seating area inside & out. There's salads & breakfast served all day too. I'm a big fan of the Boylan's sodas & Deep River chips they offer too. Check out their Facebook page for their mouthwatering daily specials. If you're in the area check them out if you're on your way to the beach or just craving a good sandwich.

First time here for take away lunch. This shop has only been open a few weeks. The interior is bright and clean. My wife got the spinach & chickpea wrap ($7.95) with added hummus ($1.50). She indicated it was very tasty indeed. I got the grilled fish sandwich which today was Cod ($ market price). I made the mistake of not asking the price. I thought that since most of the sandwiches are priced around $7.95 it would also be in the range. It was $10, for Cod ! Ok, I figured it would be a size able portion. When I got home and inspected the sandwich, the piece of lettuce completely hid the piece of Cod. I suggest using smaller rolls and garnish to enhance the appearance of the portion. I called the shop to complain, the managers response was you can bring the sandwich back for refund (commendable gesture). He also stated they weigh the cod to 6 oz. for each sandwich. Someone clearly had their size able thumb on the scale. $10 for 6 oz. equates to over $26 / lb for Cod. Included is the roll, butter, pickle wedge and 10 minutes of labor to cook it. Are you kidding me! I informed the manager I will never back. Magoo

Sandwich was ok. Nothing special. From the rating I expected more. Much better choices in town

Not very good. Overpriced sandwiches. You get about three slices of meat and a slice of cheese. I am from NY and we pay the same for a sandwich as you would at this place. The big difference you get about a 1/4 lb of meat in NY. Never will return due to price a what you get

Just found out about this place & stopped by for lunch. Great sandwiches! I had a little trouble making a choice because several things were appealing but I went with the Roast Beef with Poblano. Very tasty. My husband has the Korean Hot Pastrami with Kimchi. Also excellent. We're looking forward to going back to try the Alpine Grilled Cheese & the Cuban. Very pleased with this place & so happy that we only live about a mile away.

Stopped here for a sandwich after the beach yesterday... Left a little satisfied and a lot disappointed. As other reviews mention, the menu is overpriced. Incredibly. I ordered an Italian and got a hefty roll with hardly any deli meat in it. The meat itself was decent quality, but for $9, and the fact that it was supposed to be an Italian grinder, I expected much more than I got. The sandwich literally had one slice of eat meat and one slice of cheese. (Other reviews have complained about this... Take the hint!!) I even had to ask to get oil and vinegar on it... And I got balsamic. Confusing. First and last time going here. I wish I could have had better to say! :-(

A little pricey but the sandwiches are delicious, I'd stay away from breakfast sammiches as they can't seem to get one right and because $10 later you can make something better at home. But the rest of the sandwiches are really good.

I've been coming here for the past two years since they opened. It is the only stop I make before heading to Watch Hill Beach. Everything is delicious and fresh. The flavor combinations they put together work beautifully. They are always accommodating to my gluten sensitivity- changing up how they make a sandwich and accommodating my requests. The last time I went we got the lobster & gruyere grilled cheese (on gluten free roll), chicken caesar wrap, beet and arugula salad and the turkey bacon melt. My friends and I had a nice lunch on the beach! When we went to eat our salad we noticed there was no dressing, so we called and they drove ten minutes to deliver the dressing to us on the beach! Who does that!? They really care about their customers which means everything.

I bought the Cuban sandwich on ciabatta. It was very good, but $8.95? They do seem a bit overpriced. The place is spotless, very tasty, a lot of pluses, but the price is a tad much for what you get. Other places around that offer more and equally as good...such as the Cooked Goose. I'll try a few more and see how it goes. I like supporting local establishments .

I've been waiting to try the Misquamicut Sandwich Company ever since the sign went up about a month ago. I live in neighborhood, and I think it's great that a local business opened up in the former Fra's location. Today, on my way home from getting some groceries, I went out of my way to see if they were up and running yet. I noticed a few cars in the parking lot, so I went inside. Apparently they just closed at 3:00 PM, but they were kind enough to stay open and take my order. I order The Italian, a sandwich which had salami, prosciutto, and cheese. I opted for lettuce, mayonnaise, and oil and vinegar. The sandwich tasted really good. The ingredients seemed really fresh. The other items on the menu looked great! I can't wait to try some of the hot sandwiches. I think this is a great location for a sandwich shop, and I look forward to coming here in the future.

Nice location close to the beach. Inside is clean and contemporary. The food is okay, nothing to write home about and seriously overpriced. Three Italian subs and a large container of tomato salad totaled $37. We added hot peppers to our sandwiches and they charged us an additional $1 per sandwich. Since when did hot peppers have an upcharge? BTW, we did not get drinks. The sandwiches weren't bad but they could have used more meat, more flavor and a better roll. There are several other places within 5 miles that serve much better sandwiches for much less.

The philosophy behind this casual little sandwich shop is one of the reasons I stopped in: everything is local and the quality is NEVER sacrificed for what is easy or cheap. The breads are from New York, all drinks and sides are local. Ingredients are all local. The chef is top notch. The sandwiches are spins on classics; try them and you will fall in love! I tried a brie & bacon grilled cheese, dipped in vanilla pear jam. Amazing. The best comfort food around. Others in my group had the MSC Turkey and Kimichi sandwich, both amazing. Definitely a casual, beachy vibe for locals and tourists alike! I love the service- the girls bring it right to you. If I was in Westerly, I'd stop by on a regular basis and try one of each item on the menu. Yum!
