Food is good. Salmon excellent. Atmosphere very nice. Great view in pdr upstairs. Bar area nice. Parking not bad. People very friendly. Prices are on the upper end for value honestly. Great place for a business function upstairs.

Absolutely delicious. Came here for lunch with a friend and the restaurant was somewhat busy but not loud. I tried her butternut squash bisque and it was yummy. I had a bacon chicken wrapped in naan bread and it was one of the best wraps I've ever had. The service was quick and our server was very attentive. Definitely will come back when I'm in the area again!

There's nothing like sitting outside and eating outside on the deck. The fish tacos are the best in town, if not the area. A bridge margarita always hits the spot. The menu is unique, concentrating on vegetarian and gluten free fare, but there are options for any appetite. We recently had an anniversary cocktail party in the upstairs room. They were very easy to work with and the staff was great. Array of appetizers were a big hit!

This place was such a disappointment. It was very beautiful and the bar was awesome but the food was absolutely terrible. I couldn't even finish the shrimp it was not fresh, the calamari had no flavor and the pulled pork sandwich was gross too. I thought maybe I was just spoiled because I eat a lot of good sea food, but we couldn't even get home.. we had to pull over so my friend could puke up the calamari. Very sad.. This place had a lot of potential, but it absolutely sucked.

This place was awesome. My Mom came when it was the Up River Cafe of which she had fond memories. We were driving all over looking for a place to go that didn't have your typical burgers, sandwiches and fries. We started in Misquamicut and we're very glad that we did not stop anywhere else. It wasn't very busy since we came at about 2:30p. Service was wonderful the food was great and scenery fantastic. They did a good job of having gluten-free items. we ordered a Reuben, pulled pork sandwich, a Buddha bowl with a grass fed burger on top and the Vegetable Sandwich was fantastic. Two of us ordered the sangria to rave reviews. We couldn't have picked a better place to come for food, ambience and service all considered. We will be back soon

A wonderful find on the river, with attentive service, good value and a sweet location. Good variety with an emphasis on locally sourced ingredients. The Rhode Island style calamari was prefect as were the fried oysters. Our kale salad appetizer was excellent. The baked haddock was an inventive twist with a tomato-based topping. The adjoining bar is a lively place with a solid cover band the night we went. I'll be back because Westerly is a great town with a bright future.

This restaurant has great choices with generous portions at reasonable prices. The pictures I posted plus others I never took pictures of..such as the Halibut special and Ribeye Steak are VG!!! You won't be disappointed. Can't wait to get back and try some others I've seen. Doing on the river patio is great. Because of the live band playing, inside dining can be a bit loud and intrusive but did enjoy seeing the band play in the bar area later. This restaurant has it all. My only one complaint is that because it's always packed, you may wait some time for the dinner, understandably, so get an appetizer to hold you over. But you will enjoy It all!!!

I have a few things to say about Bridge. First of all our waiter was not very good. There was such bad communication. He came back to triple check what we had even ordered. The food came out and it all seemed fine but I was going to leave if it came wrong. As we were dining another couple had been sitting for about 15 minutes without 1 person coming by to take their orders or drinks. They ended up leaving abruptly because they were pissed and I would have been too. The service here is just so bad and I can't go back. Also vegans beware they don't even know what the word vegan means.... but yet it is on the menu as an option.

This is one of my favorite places in Westerly. We were here a couple time recently. Loved the corned beef hash and eggs. The pancakes are realllyyyy good. We also stopped in for dinner another time. I liked my fried chicken sandwich, cole slaw, and the hummus plate. My friend and I also love the chicken naanwich here. The food and service here are always good and I really like the atmosphere and view of the river.

I have eaten here twice and loved it both times. We recently went for brunch on Sunday. It's pricey but the portions are big and there was enough to take home. We had the eggs over homemade hash. I had no idea hash could be so amazing! Huge chunks of succulent meat cooked with root veggies, spices, and pearl onions. It was so dang good that I wanted to make a pot pie with it. Aparently the restaurant does exactly that! I also had gluten free toast with mine--it came with several slices -- not homemade but from GF rolls that were sooo good. I begged the waitress for a box to pack up leftovers because I couldn't stop eating it and was painfully full.. Coffee was meh, but the food was to die for and the staff are super friendly. I am eager to go again! If you really like your visiting friends and family then take them here.

This is a great restaurant with a beautiful patio deck. The server was very knowledgable of all of the dishes and different kind of oysters offered. My boyfriend likes bluefish, which i am usually not a fan of, but the flavoring was so good that it masked the fishy taste. We both had the Cape Cod tuna and it was absolutely delicious. The only downside to sitting on the patio is that there are a lot of mosquitos if you are dining after dusk so i would suggest wearing long pants and a shirt. otherwise, everything was amazing!

You now you found the right place to eat when everything on the menu sounds amazing. WOW! There's something here for every taste and palate, whether you're a total vegge nut or meat eater or big on seafood -- you cannot go wrong at BRIDGE. Our waiter (Paul?) was super awesome, attentive, offered suggestions, and even hooked us up with his roaming WiFi hot spot -- a long as we didn't start watching kitty videos ;) Our drinks were fantastically prepared and the corn bread, crab cake and black bean burger were all cooked and presented to perfection. Our only complaint is that there isn't a Bridge Restaurant near us in Somerville. Which just means we'll have to return another time. A+ all around!

This is fast becoming a new favorite. The food is fresh. The seafood is amazing. The vegetarian options are top notch. The drinks are just right...great presentation; great pour. I highly recommend. Service is also outstanding. Price is great. Parking is easy...like I mentioned...one of my new favorites.

Fast friendly service. Great menus with really good food. Outside and inside seating ample parking. Try the nachos very different and awesome. Decorated modern with a flare for the past. Kid friendly. Plenty gluten free and vegetarian options and varied choices

If you're in the area and can't decide between all the local restaurants, definitely consider this one. The pork chop with corn and corn bread was the best I've ever had. The atmosphere was fantastic. Even our waitress was unbelievably knowledgeable about the area and its history. Absolutely worth a visit!

I don't know what happened here but this place has gone downhill. My wife and I stopped in recently and sat out on the patio alongside the river. We sat there for longer than is normal before our waiter came over. He was one of the most awkward and unpleasant waiters I've ever had. Dude couldn't even be bothered to walk over to the other side of the table so I could look at him. He stood behind me so I had to turn to talk to him. Weird. We ordered some food and drinks, and they were all pretty good. The food here is decent but the overall experience is hurt by the service. After our food was served by a food runner (who was a lot friendlier) we didn't see our weird waiter again until all the food was gone and I was draining the last drop of my drink. I would have had another if the guy had bothered to come over and ask, but he didn't. When he did check in on us again, it was from this server station which was nearby our table. He was behind the station, with it between us and him and he said "Can I get you any more things?" Really? Things? Nope. That guy sucked. The other interactions we had were a little 'off' too. The hostess was a bit, how to put this nicely, rough edged and not very professional. Then there was the outdoor manager or supervisor who asked if anyone had taken our order. Dirty jeans and sneakers with the tongue hanging out aren't appropriate for a restaurant uniform. I don't think we'll be back.

The atmosphere is incredible. The service great. The food is just so so. I had the clear chowder and it tasted like chicken soup.

What a fun restaurant! We were hungry for a yummy meal after a long day at the beach. Some friends live right around the corner from here and highly recommended it! We sat at a nice table near the bar and the bartender was very friendly and helpful. It was quiet, but it was also a Monday night, so I imagine it might get busier on the weekends. I really loved the decor and there was a nice view of the river through the window. The menu was really inventive with lots of vegitarian options! We shared a pitcher of sangria, which was some of the best sangria I've had! It was not too sweet and full of yummy fresh fruit. I got the swordfish tacos and they were fantastic! I would definitely love to return to this cozy little restaurant!

Really great atmosphere and our server was perky attentive and just overall great service ! The food was good as usual . I had the vegetarian risotto and my husband had the fried fish sandwich. Both were delicious . The hostess was extremely friendly as was the guy who brought us to our table. He offered to carry our stuff for us which was nice . Since they are dog friendly outside ... They brought a bowl of water for my in law dog. I haven't had a bad experience here yet or bad food !

Came here again last night on a date. Again prompt, friendly service. I had the swordfish with broccoli and brown rice and everything was delicious and cooked to perfection. No lie to say I cleaned my plate. My date and I ordered some drinks too and my Malibu bay breeze was on point and refilled quickly. A minor thing of note is in the dining room the noise can carry between tables if they are close to each other. a table nearby's beer choice became a topic of our discussion for instance so I wouldn't recommend for any confidential business deals but for a date it was just fine.

I can't say enough good things about Bridge. We've been here twice now, and I've loved it both times. On our first trip, we came for dinner. I had the buffalo tofu and the veggie burger, and Adam had a salmon dish. He enjoyed his salmon (hello clean plate club), and I devoured my tofu and veggie burger. The tofu was panko-breaded and fried, and drizzled with a sweet and spicy buffalo sauce. The veggie burger was hearty, but not too heavy. I had it without a bun, and it was served with some guilt-ridden, homemade potato chips. I had to stop myself at two, because they were too good. The second time we ate here, Adam had scrambled eggs for brunch, and I had the fig and brie sandwich (affectionately penned "the friggin' brie"). It was so yummy, with this amazing salty and sweet combination with grilled onions, sweet figgy preserves and creamy melted brie. Against the crunch of the fresh baguette roll, it was sinful, and completely and totally delicious.

Lovely view, excellent food! Bartender was cool and very helpful. Try the "mangria",it's tasty. Peel and eat shrimp were so good. Can't wait to go back next time I'm in the area.

This has to be one of the best restaurants in the area, it is usually very busy on the weekends but is totally worth the wait, we had the New England clam chowder, Amanda's nachos, the crabby patty, lobster mac, the "friggin Brie" and the chicken naanwhich, everything tasted amazing, the staff is very friendly and easy to deal with, the only bad part is the wait to be seated but that gives you time to have a drink at the bar or enjoy the town of westerly, Molly was our waitress and she was really nice and knowledgeable

  • Brian S.

Have to say that I'm a bit biased if an eatery is pet friendly and this place is. Bravo. The raw bar, outstanding, daily drink specials and the Thursday Buck a Shuck makes this establishment a must do when in the Westerly area.

I hate to make this review because I usually have nothing but good things to say about the bridge, however today we stopped in for lunch. Having worked in the service industry I understand that when ordering off the menu not to expect it to be perfect....except I only ordered a BLT. It came on a bun-mayo free. I asked the food runner for mayo and bread. I was annoyed when she came back to receive from her toast that was buttered and cut in half.... Our server never came by to check on us and I had to flag him down to have him take the toast back and explain I was expecting a more classic BLT. OH WELL NO BIG DEAL. .... Until the bill came which in order to get we had to see our server walk past three times and not say a word to us until we again flagged him down. I was charged 11$ for a chicken sandwich. A little pricy for a BLT that had one tiny tomato and a thin piece of lettuce. I was also aggravated because I had asked our server if I could have potato salad as a side and he said absolutely. Come to find out it was a 2$ up charge I wasn't told about. Making my BLT now 13$. I don't like to complain especially having worked in the industry but I feel like for the quality service I normally experience at the bridge this was not up to par...... Go for dinner and sit in the bar. Better luck there.

We kind of just stopped here on a whim. Okay, maybe not entirely because we did check Yelp ratings first but I'm glad we did. Started with some oysters, they have a nice selection that changes daily. They were fresh and tasty. Moved from there to an apple and walnut salad they had as a special (which was also good) but best of all was my entree.... I had the pan roasted cod. It comes atop spinach and polenta. It was perfectly prepared and nicely presented. It was delicious! Bridge is kind of a cool place with a nice bar area and although it wasn't open, they have a nice outdoor patio over looking the river. Probably a nice spot in the warmer weather. If you're in Westerly, stop in... You won't be disappointed.

My family would always make an extra effort to visit The Bridge when we came to RI. In April we went and the service was awful and the steaks were unusually fatty but since it's our favorite we went again in June. The service was ok, it wasn't real busy and drinks took a while and we only had a butter knife for the steak and the manager was put out when we stopped him from closing umbrellas b/c the sun was in our faces. But the food was way below par. The fried calamari was way overdone. The shrimp linguini was off, hard to explain but it just wasn't right, though it did have at least 8 shrimp. The Mahi special, the filet was not prepared right and was tiny even with the skin not removed. The mojito didn't taste right. Just a big disappointment. I'll give them 1 more chance because they were so good.

Our first time here today, well my first, my companion's second. Nice interesting decor. Our server was very friendly and engaging. He knew the specials and the standard menu well. We were pleased to see a lot of variety on the menu, burgers to vegetarian to burritos to raw bar options. Most options were advertised as some level of organic or wild caught, etc. No other restuarant in this area does this consistently. Obviously a source of pride here and commendable. The owner/manager also stopped by and chatted. I asked about the Wednesday wine special which disappointed as it was limited to the bar area only. A big miss for a restuarant in the off-season. Extending the special into the dining areas in the off-season would surely attract more customers on a mid-week night. That said, moving on. We shared the fried squid appetizer ($10). Unfortunately I forgot to ask if it included tentacles (it came without), my error. I mentioned it to our server and received a response that made little sense in that sometimes they are included, some people don't want them, blah blah. If they are optional, why not just ask the customer when they order to include or omit? In any event the portion was small. Also our appetizer was table delivered by a different server who then decided to take away our bread & butter for some unexplained reason. We were not done with it, but away they went. Strange indeed. For entrees, my companion had the fish tacos (3) which for an entree ($15) was also small. A side ($4) was ordered to compensate. However, the fish (sword) tacos was reported as very good. I had a special, wild caught King salmon with a dijon mustard sauce ($23) which came with roasted brussel sprouts with bacon and mash. All were very good. However the salmon portion was a little small (is there a theme). The beer and wine list contains many options and flavors. The wine is way over priced for the quality with few exceptions. I was able to ferret out one, a bottle of JE Chardonnay ($37). What you get for the money; a varied, quality menu, good service, smaller portions in some instances and generally good food. We will come back. There you have it. Magoo

This place has great atmosphere and if you're in the cocktail area they have live music. I sat outside which was beautiful. Right on the river! You can also enjoy the strung lights above you and the occasional quack of a duck swimming by you. The cocktail menu is a nice thing to have. I ordered a Salty Dog and a French 75. Both were pretty good. I split a Caesar Salad with my boyfriend. It was pretty delicious. The dressing was more on the anchovy side (which I love). The fresh bread and butter was delicious too. I ordered the grass fed burger. Nothing to write home about. Boyfriend got the gumbo (which I tasted) and it was pretty delicious. We were both surprised that it wasn't more soupy. Me being from the south, I haven't ever seen gumbo of that consistency. But the flavors and spiciness were nice. I would definitely come here again for the overall atmosphere and friendliness of the place.

People rave about The Bridge and I'm not sure why. My visit here was totally uninspiring. Food was ok, service was ok and the décor seem pretty plain where I was sitting. I guess I'll have to give it a try again, I must have missed something the first time.

Great vibe, fun location, and extra points for super cute single-serve bottles of Prosecco! My friends and I went here this weekend and it was definitely a great location. The one downside was that we did have to wait for quite some time, but the bar was nice to hang out in. Thankfully our table was available before the band started playing music -- because I can only imagine how hard it is to hear your friends once the band is playing in that tiny tiny room! At the bar mixed-drinks are served in mason jars which adds to the fun vibe of the entire place. The food was pretty delicious! I ended up having the pulled pork sandwich with french fries. The french fries were delicious (although you have to ask for them because they'll give you potato chips as the regular side). The pulled pork sandwich was OK. I would have liked some BBQ sauce on it, but there was none at the table and I didn't feel like hunting down the waitress to see if she would have any. If you can, you should ask to sit right by the river! The patio has a cute feel to it with nice lights strung and heat lamps going for when it's a bit chilly.

Awesome find in westerly! Beautifully located on a river (sit outside!) with great service and good food. I don't think our server told us her name but she was fast, knowledgable, and funny. We ordered the nachos and calamari. Nachos were okay. My boyfriend said "too many chips not enough stuff" and the calamari was just basic fried calamari with marinara. For dinner I got the pulled pork sandwich. Topped with fried onion rings it was deliciously seasoned and very flavorful. My boyfriend got the shrimp po boy with Mac n cheese as a side (probably the best thing we ordered!) we skipped dessert because we were stuffed! Atmosphere and service is probably what made me give four stars. The food was very good but not above average. We definitely will be returning to try more things!

This is THE place to stop if you are heading to Watch Hill for the weekend, but want more options than the Olympia or Ocean House. Huge menu, standard new American with lean to the sea, awesome outdoor sitting area- as the name suggests, it is a bridge that straddles the CT/RI border over the Pawcatuck River. I've had a couple of sandwiches/burgers which were all well above average, fish tacos ain't authentic but are damn tasty, and came once in the winter and sucked down a Porter and a soul warming chix pot pie. Basic but acceptable raw bar. Mostly locally sourced ingredients which I appreciate. Live music most summer nights- the bar service obviously does a good business. As an aside, seems to be a haven for classic car buffs, have seen several cherry gems parked in the minimal lot out front.

Have never been disappointed with food (great choices for vegetarians) or service here! They don't charge extra for incidentals like extra buffalo sauce or ranch... The only thing I dislike is the fishy/musty smell when you walk in. So we alway opt for the porch outdoors.

We stayed at the la Quinta in Stonington, CT, after a fun filled day at Masquamicut Beach. We were initially going to go to a local restaurant on the beach for seafood but they were closed for a wedding venue that evening. We arrived to check in at the La Quinta we were advised that Bridge in Westerly was a recommended restaurant to all patrons at La Quinta. We looked online at the menu and the menu looked fabulous for various options for vegans, meat eaters and seafood lovers. We did called ahead seating and when we arrived we were seated promptly. We were all starving so we quickly ordered fried calamari and chicken wings. I'm not a huge fan of calamari and I don't eat any meat other than seafood but was amongst meat eaters so I went ahead and tried the calamari. It was delicious! The calamari was tossed in an excellent fresh garlic flavored breading with yellow peppers and marinara on the side. The calamari was cooked perfectly and full of flavor! My friends devoured the wings and stated that they were amazing! We were starving and quickly ordered dinner. I ordered fish tacos (divine, fresh and full of flavor). I was very impressed! My boyfriend ordered crab stuffed shrimp with broccoli and rice and was impressed. Our friends ordered fried chicken and a grass fed hamburger with homemade potato chips. No complaints and one of my friends ordered homemade bbq sauce with her chicken and loved it! Since the food was so delicious, we ordered dessert and coffee. I had the fruit parfait and my boyfriend and friend had the double chocolate cake. The coffee was phenomenal as well as the desserts! Our server was attentive, knowledgeable and very friendly! We will definitely be back when we are vacationing this way again! Bravo Bridge!

I went here last night for date night with my husband. We had oysters from the raw bar. My husband had fish tacos and I had the burrito. Everything was amazing. We had a wonderful waitress with a great personality. The atmosphere was very welcoming. We also found out that every Thursday you can get oysters for $1 a piece! We will be back hopefully this coming Thursday.

My husband's company recently had their Holiday party here. The back room space was great for the 40ish people. Appetizers were very tasty! Non-greasy, and fresh. I had the scallops for my meal in which one was a bit sandy but that doesn't ruin my meal. My husband had the prime rib which was perfectly rare in the center and so great. Can't speak to the drinks but it looked like everyone else was enjoying them. If this was closer I'd definitely consider returning for a non-function meal.

Very good restaurant with a view on the river. They have a great variety of selections-something for everyone. All of the wait staff/hostesses were very pleasant even if they weren't waiting on our table. They were very accommodating and let us bring our dog with us to dinner while sitting outside on the porch. They often have live music making for a very lively atmosphere. I will definitely be back.

Pleasant outdoor area. River is a bit murky, but still relaxing. The corn fritter appetizer was very good. The butternut squash soup was obviously made with fresh ingredients. The staff were helpful, if a bit busy. Overall a very nice experience.

I got the Coconut Curry Tofu for dinner. I was glad to find a vegan option in the area, but it was pretty bland and needed salt and seasoning. It was really fresh though and the service was friendly and quick. From a vegan perspective, this is the only vegan friendly place I could find in the area. Items are clearly marked on the menu.

I've eaten here three times and each time I hope it will be a better experience. I've tried it during the peak season (June-Sept) and during the off season. There is nothing wrong with this restaurant in particular. The staff is friendly, the location is ideal, and the view is great but the food is over priced and does not live up to the hype. A cobb salad for $15 and it's roughly the size of a side salad is too much. The bottom line is it's a place to sit an socialize. If you're looking for a solid, filling meal look elsewhere.

I used to come here pretty regularly but, as with all thing, I got a little bored with the menu. They recently did some remodeling on the inside and made some additions to the menu. We had dinner there tonight, I had the naanwich and my boyfriend had the NY strip special. The naanwich was very good, though I am a sucker for anything with avocado. My boyfriend enjoyed his steak and thought it was cooked perfectly and had a good flavor. He also really liked the horseradish sauce. Our waiter was Zeb. He was wonderful. He was very attentive and took care of all of our needs. Overall we're very satisfied the $2 'Gansetts are a plus. We'll definitely be coming back to try the other new items on the menu.

Came here during the evening. The place was slightly empty in the patio dining area but we were ok with that. We were seated by the fire and had great views of the river. The food was delicious. Server was ok but he forgot a few things which I thought was strange because we were the only ones back there. Overall it's a nice cozy place to dine with friends, family or on a date.

Good food, but waiter didn't get the dish I ordered down correctly so I had to watch all my friends eat and by the time I got my meal they were done, he offered me a glass if wine making it seem like a comp for screwing up but when the check came I realized he charged me for it.. I will take another chance at the place but I'm hesitant.

My family and I stopped here while on a road trip, and we are so lucky to have stumbled upon such a great place! Great atmosphere out on the deck, friendly wait staff, and really amazing food and drinks. Plenty of options for vegetarians as well. I wish I lived closer!

Meh with a capital M-E-H. This was my own fault I guess, for following the Yelp reviews rather than my gut, and ordering tacos in New England, where experience shows that people know tacos like Mexico knows ice hockey. However, given the enthusiasm expressed herein for those tacos it seemed worth a shot. Mistake. The fish was nicely done, but otherwise these are standard issue gringo tacos. Overstuffed with too much filling (why is this so common in New England? Is it like a fun thing - do people think it's fun to have half the food fall out of your taco and then eat it with a fork?), which included some odd ingredients (tomatoes? In a taco? In a FISH taco?), all wrapped in some overdone, slightly stiff flour tortillas. My companion's fish was also nothing to write home about. Done competently, but unexceptional in every way. Sardine appetizer was tasty. Beautiful location. But I can't say that the food held up all that well.

My BF and I spent the day in Westerly and opted for lunch at this place based on reviews and outdoor seating. We ordered the fish tacos, a burger, and a Caesar salad. All were excellent. Great wine and tap beer selections, fine service. We did sit outside, which was lovely. Very nice choice. Would recommend it.

We went on a Wednesday night, for dinner. I had called ahead for reservation. My only complaint was that there was no one at the reception desk and we stood for over 5 min. Once we were seated, everything was wonderful. Food was great, service was fast and responsive. Definitely a place we will have dinner again!

My husband and I went on a Wednesday night for our anniversary. We are both industry people, so we're pretty picky. We were greeted right away and were seated outside. We had a super cool waitress who didn't seem to mind at all that we wanted to take our time. We got the peel and eat shrimp. They were delicious! We ordered another round before we were done with what we had. That dipping sauce is fantastic. I got the Friggin Brie which I had heard good things about and it totally lived up to it. So yummy. My husband got the fish tacos and those were great too. Fantastic spot, glad we drove over 30 mins to get there. Can't wait to go again.

What a lovely place for afternoon drinks. It was peaceful, delicious and the service was always there when you needed it. We had oysters that were very fresh. Really loved the drink menu and hope to go back to have a meal soon.

Solid, great chicken pot pie, fantastic fish tacos.Sit outside by the river, swans add to the view. also 2 bars inside.........great spot.

They changed the fish tacos, which is the reason my wife and I have gone there. Very little fish (really 2 tiny cubes on each of the two "tacos") and not a real tortilla. Two orders of tacos and a bottle of San Pelligrino, with tip, nearly $48. Sorry, but we won't be doing that again.

Wow. Everything was amazing from service and atmosphere to food. We tried their sardines with olive tapenade....great, hand cut potato nachos....so good, fish tacos...none better and the "friggin brie"....awesome. Such a great time we had to buy the crew a pitcher.

We were in Rhode Island and decided to stop for food. The parking lot was full but luckily we found a spot. We had a couple drinks at the bar while waiting for a table. Between the bartender and our waitress, the customer service was excellent! We had wings and salads to start which were very good. We were a little hesitant on spending so much for the Lobster Mac & Cheese dinner but were glad we did! IT WAS DELICIOUS! We plan to stop here every time we are in the area.

What a great restaurant! Great food and service. We had the raw bar sampler, lobster roll and lobster Mac and cheese. Best meal we've had in a while! So fresh and delicious, I would highly recommend this restaurant.

We stopped by the Bridge on our way to Newport, Rhode Island. The people are very friendly . Our waitress was very good and proactive in regard to our needs. My husband and I had the day's special; steak wrap with onions & mushrooms, it was great. The steak was juicy and tender. The burger was good also. The sandwiches come with home made potato chips, awesome! I upgraded to the sweet potato fries, they were perfectly cooked. Kudos to the staff at the Bridge.

The other night when our favorite restaurant was closed for a special function we tried Bridge again & weren't disappointed. I've seen mediocre reviews before & our first trip didn't blow us away but we wanted to try it again. First off, the owners did an amazing job with the interior. The place is beautifully decorated & the views of the river are amazing. There's a nice long bar & the lighting is perfect. Our food was pretty good too. My wife tried to fish tacos which had a myriad of condiments to compliment the fish. Everything was freshly prepared & oh so tasty. I got the crab cakes which were the best I've had. They weren't soggy or dry, just perfect, with a little kick. I had no problem finishing my entree & even got to polish off my wife's. Our only regret was that we didn't leave room for desert. We will be making a future visit & can't wait to try more of their offerings.

I really like it here. I can't say it compares to what used to be in this space - The Upriver Café - but it's solid & interesting. Cool menu, pretty brick bldg. but for me it's all about the outdoor deck, w/river flowing past on two sides. Just lovely.

This is a gem in Westerly.. The atmosphere is great, nice vibe inside. A menu with something for everyone. Meat lovers, vegetarian and vegan options. I had the fish tacos and as others have already reviewed them I agree, they were delicious. We sat outside on the heated patio which was great since I am not ready to give up "al fresco" dining just yet. The service was excellent. The restaurant itself sits right on the Pawcatuck River. You can walk to several places right from here. If you enjoy some music they usually have entertainment in the bar area Friday nights..

Nice Place. Great outdoor seating, cool inside vibe - like the bar with the raw bar. Main bar has place for local live music. All around, nice place to go and enjoy. Food was good, not great. Waitress staff efficient, very friendly and made you feel welcome. Ask for Jessica, Receptionists - well when I call to ask if they have a waiting line and told no..so I say I am on my way, Then when I get there I find out they don't take reservation, which they told me on the phone but they do take names for priority seating I wonder "what the?" we just called and said we were coming directly from the beach! So we didn't get a outside table but did get a great corner window view. Its the little things that make a good experience. If your in the area heading to / from the beaches , Newport or Watch Hill - its an good option.

We had a lovely lunch here recently and enjoyed the atmosphere and water view. The staff was friendly and professional and the food was good. I had their falafel wrap which was bit bland and needed some more yogurt sauce and chopped tomatoes- a little on the dry side. My husband had their Cobb salad which was delicious but a tad over-priced for the size of the salad. After having amazing salads on the West coast for years that are a good $5 less it's tough to be over-charged for the small portions you get here. The homemade potato chips were delicious and just needed a little salt. Best cup of coffee we have had in a long while in a restaurant. Definitely will be back if we are ever in the area again.

Not bad. Bet it is a good spot in the summer. The food was good, but not overly memorable. Would probably go back for drinks. They do have a nice beer and wine list. Decor is nice. Service was decent but unmemorable. Maybe I was expecting more based on the previously posted reviews.

Amazing food and great service! I have eaten here plenty of times and have never been let down. Menu has a great variety of foods. The specials are always interesting and appetizing. I love that from pretty much every seat in the house you can see the beautiful flowing river. Can't wait for summer to come back around so I can sit back out on the patio and sip my beer. It seems like this is the type of place would satisfy anyone, great kids menu, vegetarian options, A LOT of gluten free options and has a lot of all natural and locally grown items on the menu.

I really, really, REALLY want to like Bridge. It's a great location along with great atmosphere, but I have never had a great experience. I've been here close to 10 times over the past year and every time something is lacking. From walking in the front door and trying to flag down someone to seat you (seriously? The place was empty) to rude waitstaff and getting incorrect food. The food, when you're not brought the wrong meal, is actually very good. I've gotten a couple different items on the menu and everything has been solid. I've brought my family here on 2 or 3 occasions and had a much better experience. Not sure if it's the fact that when you bring a big party that's running a nice tab, you get better service or what. But when it's just me and my SO, we get terrible service. Some examples include: waiting over 10 minutes for the first drink order, ordering food and never seeing your waiter again, never getting a refill on water, receiving incorrect food with no sorry or acknowledgement that it even happened, asking for the check and waiting 25+ minutes (that was on a Monday night, place was empty). I've given bridge so many chances and never get a payoff. I'll be going elsewhere until the staff is changed out.

Went here with two aunts, my sister, and my cousin. The ambiance and decorations were fantastic. We ate out on the bridge patio and felt like I was sitting on a deck in Jamaica, not Rhode Island! The food was average. I ordered the fish taco and split the order with my aunt. It was very filling, but lacked enough flavor. I wanted a saucy taco, perhaps something tangy like a pineapple/habanero juice. The flour tortilla wasn't crispy enough. The problem here is definitely the prices. Outrageously expensive for the portions and quality you are getting. If you are coming here try to have a coupon or extra cash. You're going to need it.

This was my first visit and I'm glad I stopped in. The restaurant is on an inlet and pretty much anywhere you sit you'll have a view of it. The place is nicely decorated and they left plenty of space between table so that you don't get claustrophobia like you do in some other venues. You're greeted promptly by a very nice hostess and ushered to you table. The menu is reasonably concise and the food looks really appetizing on it. And it is when it's served as well. Perfectly prepared and spiced and very tasty. Then there's the server, Molly, who couldn't have been better. All in all it was a great experience and I intend to do it again.

I have lived and worked in Westerly for three years now and the bridge is by far my favorite restaurant. With great places like Bridge to eat and drink, I don't even know how crappy chain restaurants like Applebee's and Domino's are even able to pay their overhead. Every time I go to Bridge the service and food is excellent. I can honestly say I have never had a bad meal there. I am a vegetarian and love their eclectic menu. They are not the cheapest place in town, so I don't go there if I'm looking for a cheap night out. They compensate for that by having weeknight specials. The bar area can be a little noisy for dining, but is still a fun bar scene. Bridge is definitely worth the price, especially since there aren't any annoying kids or vacationing families eating there. When we do a bar crawl,we start with dinner and drinks at Bridge and them hit the town from there. Can't beat the location! My husband and I had our wedding rehearsal dinner in their upstairs function room, which was smaller than I thought but more than enough to accommodate our 25 attendees. It also has its on bar They did everything possible to make the night before our wedding relaxing and enjoyable. I also recently held a surprise party there, and they helped me keep the secret under wraps until the moment our guest of honor walked in. By that, I mean that when we walked in and told them we had a reservation, they didn't blow my cover by saying "party of 19" or anything like that. It was a fun night and the service was great as always! Thanks Bridge, we are moving to California soon and we will miss our favorite spot in Westerly!

Dogs welcome on the patio. We call ahead just to be sure but have never been turned down. We go at least twice when we are in area for summer vacation. Great food from daily specials to the veggie burrito. Bridge Rita is yum. Great service. Terrific spot to dine outside.

Met a guy at Bridge for a first date. Cute little place. We sat at the bar ordered a couple blue moons which arrived promptly and were very cold (always a plus). We decided to try a couple appetizers while we chatted. We had the Calamari which was definitely decent. Your standard RI style calamari, not too breaded and with banana peppers served with marinara sauce. No complaints there. Then we tried the "nachos". I thought they were OK but super salty. They're made with homemade potato chips, fried topped with cheeses buffalo sauce and blue cheese. Like I said salt on top of salt. We couldn't finish them. Service was good though and its in a cute little spot on the water. Also they had live music. The guy playing was good but honestly the acoustics needed work. One second you're whispering the next you're shouting over him.

The restaurant is very pretty, nice bars and patio. The service was friendly but slow. The portions are extremely small.....the waitress warned us, but we didn't imagine that the fish sandwich could have such a tiny piece of fish! We heard that you should order burgers and steak there. My shrimp po boy was disappointing. Prices seem good until you see what you're getting for it!! Would go back for drinks but not a fan of the food.

The food was delicious, wonderful gluten free options, but unfortunately the service was terrible. Both the hostess and waitress were incredibly rude and carried an attitude throughout the entire evening which ultimately made the experience unenjoyable despite the wonderful food. As a result, I will not return.

I've been to Bridge several times and at varying times during the day. Lunch is very good, but nothing outwardly special. Dinner is my favorite time to visit. At my most recent visit, I ordered the ahi tuna that was one of the night's specials... it was AMAZING (my compliments to the chef because it was some the best tuna I've had)!!! The atmosphere is always nice and the patio on the water is a nice place to chill if you're not in the mood for live music at the bar.

I adore this place! Service is always exceptionally friendly and helpful. I love the atmosphere. It is a comfortable, attractive space, and the outdoor setting is absolutely wonderful. Bridge is great for a meet up with friends and family, but is also perfect as a stylish date spot. I genuinely appreciate the fact that there are always several creative and delicious vegan/vegetarian options, which is very rare in this area. My husband always orders the Black Bean Burger, and I recently tried the Fried Oyster Mushroom Po'boy which was just sensational! We've also tried the Buffalo Tofu Wings, Vegetable Reuben and BBQ Veggie Meatloaf: All very delicious. I ordered a Ratatouille a long while back that was rather mediocre, but otherwise I've always had great meals here. I look forward to trying the Mushroom Pate and Brunch Tofu Scramble, which both sound fantastic. I do wish they had more vegan options for Brunch. The cocktail menu is fun. I've tried many of the drinks, and they've all been wonderful. This is by no means an inexpensive restaurant, but I think it is worth the price. I always have a very enjoyable evening when we come to Bridge. I'm so thankful that the owners/chef of this restaurant have chosen to thoughtfully prepare veg-friendly dishes! Bridge is a very unique and innovative restaurant. It is obvious that a lot of care and thought goes into this business.

I love this place. I can't judge on the food because I haven't tried it, but I've been here for drinks a couple of times and have had A+ service, tasty drinks and an awesome atmosphere. With the rustic feel inside and the beautiful views outside, it's really the perfect place to grab a cocktail (or a few) and catch up with friends. I will definitely be back!

After a lovely day at the beach, my friends and I were looking for an outdoor dinner experience a little trendier than all the seafood spots around Misquamicut. The Bridge was perfect. It's a cute, hip restaurant located on a picturesque river in Westerly. We picked this spot because it offered both vegetarian and meat-eater options, and we couldn't have been happier. From the delicious, warm bread they bring out in the beginning, to the good wine selection, everything was great. We started with their heirloom tomato and mozzarella special. It was delicious! A little pricey at $11 especially considering my entree was $10, but it was seasonal and worth it. We got a bottle of the Vinho Verde, which was right on point for a hot day. Two of us ordered the black bean burger, which was completely fresh and homemade. It had a great bite to it, and the guacamole and pico de gallo condiment was great. My two other friends got the fig/brie sandwich and the felafel wrap, and both were just as happy. Only complaint came from the one member of our group who ordered the steak. He and the friends that tried it all said it was pretty flavorless and unseasoned. At $20-something, it wasn't the restaurant's best moment. All-in-all we left happy and satisfied. Our waitress was great -- very knowledgeable and helpful, and the restaurant had a really great vibe. Definitely go if you are a vegetarian or looking for local food! I will certainly go back.

I'm confused as to why the Bridge has such high ratings. When I went there, first of all, I waited quite some time before someone came to the front to seat me. Then I ordered a gin and tonic and got a lot of tonic and very little gin. My lunch was a burger, cooked medium (at least that is what I ordered). I was given a burger that was burned on the outside and raw on the inside. The waitress then proceeded to argue with me and tell me that it was cooked medium. She never refilled my water glass unless I flagged her down. When I got the bill, I was charged for an appetizer I never ordered! It's such a shame that Up the River Cafe closed down and this mediocre restaurant replaced it. Save your money and don't cross this Bridge.

Food was OK. We have been wanting to try it for some time because it always seems to be busy when we drive by. I will give them the benefit of the doubt because it was the end of Restaurant Week. And maybe the staff was sick of that. However, why participate in Restaurant week if you are going to treat people like they aren't welcome. Staff was lax, unfriendly and smug. A smile and a welcome would have been nice. Throughout meal we could hear the waitstaff bicker with each other about who's table it was that just was seated. Our waiter asked us if we wanted to start off with shots! It was 1:00 in the afternoon! We declined, he persisted with offering us wine or beer. I told him, I don't drink alcohol, Thank you, but he persisted still with " Oh, c'mon, everybody is doing it. Know your audience. We aren't 25 years old. Dirty dishes remained on our table until a manager type noticed as we were paying our check. Never asked how our meal was, never came back after food was delivered. I had to ask for the check. Everything very greasy, and just "OK". I won't be rushing back.

Loved the outdoor seating and the food! Perfect weather for an outdoor meal. Fish tacos made of swordfish were amazing! Fish and chips in gargantuan proportions. Service was slow, but we were not in a huge rush...as the kids were entertained by the cool setting anyway.

Love this place! I've been here twice - once for lunch & once for dinner. The food & service have been excellent both times. I recommend Amanda's Nachos. Totally unique & very tasty. The clam and corn fritters were great - love the combination. The location (on the river) is quite nice, too. No complaints about anything. I'll be back again & again! I'd also like to add that the manager generously donated food for the Misquamicut Beach Clean Up volunteers more than once in the past year after Superstorm Sandy. I was the food coordinator so the places who donated have a special place in my heart.

I can't believe I have never written a review for this spot, it is one of our favs! Been here many times since our accidental discovery a couple years back. While we particularly like the deck in the warm season, the inside with its big windows and fireplaces is nice too. Weekend entertainment is always good. Who can beat the $2 Narragansett's? We have enjoyed many a good meal, my husband is a fan of the fish taco's and I seems to frequently fall back to the burger but can safely say that we've never had a bad meal.

My family stumbled upon this restaurant one day while we were in Westerly. From The outside appearance it looked perfect, the serene outside patio on the lake, with shady trees and a few scattered umbrellas. Next I looked at the menu and I was hooked, being a vegetarian I got overwhelmingly excited to see multiple delicious sounding vegetarian entrees. However I became overly disappointed with the meal I had. I ordered a lemonade, thinking it would be a delicious homemade concoction after looking at all of the delicious alcoholic drinks they served in mason jars. However my lemonade was minute maid and tasted gross, I could get much better at Unos or a chain restaurant. For my lunch I ordered a cup of gazpacho (a favorite of mine) and the fig & brie sandwich. The gazpacho was not very good, it was blended up and made my stomach sick after a couple of bites. I love my gazpacho to have chunks of vegetables and to be light, but this cold soup was not very refreshing. My sandwich was another letdown, brie being my favorite cheese I was super excited, but could barely taste the cheese. There was soo much sugary fig jam on the sandwich that it highly took over the sandwich. I could not even finish it, it tasted like candy, I wanted lunch. I went ahead and tried my sisters falafel wrap and found the flavor of it not very delicious and the wrap its self was very greasy. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their meal, but I was awfully disappointed. The chips that accompanied our sandwiches were good, but greasy and needed something to dip them in because they were lacking flavor. Even though the atmosphere was beautiful, our waitress was not very pleasant. She seemed very rude, my mom said it was because it was 4th of July, but I don't think that it a good enough reason to be rude to a customer. I took off 4th of July for my job! Even though the meal I had was not very good, I intend to go back. Hopefully the restaurant can redeem itself, maybe I ordered the wrong items off the menu. With so many vegetarian entrees on the menu, I have to give it another try.

My wife and I stopped in for dinner. It seemed like a good choice when we got there but that would change as the night went along. We were greated pleasantly by the hostess and she showed us to the bar while we waited for our table. The bartenders were pleasant and attentive. We sat down to dinner. Our waiter was slow, forgetful and obviously new so I will give him a pass. I ordered RI clam chowder and it lacked any real taste. I orderd 6 little necks and i recieved 5 littlenecks and 1 large clam. Did they think they would fool me giving me 1 clam twice the size as the others? The main meal was a special on the board. Wild Salmon. It came to the table with a strange looking topping. It was some kind of olive sauce. There was no mention there would be anything on top and I hate olives. Ok, so I tried to make the best of it and scrape it off but it did not make the olive taste go away. As I still tried to make the best of it I took a bite and got a mouth full of fish skin. They never took the skin off the other side of the fish. That was enough for me. The waiter did get it taken off the bill but over all just a terrible dinner. We won't be back

Went to the Bridge last evening. They recently completed a kitchen remodel and we were looking forward to a refreshed menu. Unfortunately, while adding a few new items, the quality of the food slipped considerably. They have a great location and a friendly waitstaff, but the food was a complete disappointment. The beets in the beet salad were obviously from a can and the arugula was limp. The shrimp in the shrimp cocktail were the medium-size ones found in the frozen food section at the grocery store. II could go on, but you get the point. I really hope they can turn this around especially since they are finally getting some competition from other downtown venues.

I've been here many times as I live pretty close and it has something for everyone on the menu. My favorite is the mushroom ravioli - but only in the summer when it's in a yummy broth. In the winter, they put it in some awful squash puree. The only downside is the service. The bar service is spot on, but the restaurant and outdoor deck service is below par. Unfortunately, we don't always want to sit in the bar.

DECEPTICON!!! I use this reference to describe this restaurant because it is truly a crappy experience hiding an a sexy decor and appealing location. It provides for a great atmosphere but sub-par food at expensive prices. One of those places that you try really hard to overlook the short comings. Food: I had a fish taco which was made with Sword Fish.. -Sword Fish in my opinion is to fishy for a taco. -taco was soaked and soggy making hard to eat. -fish that was fried was soaked. -overall bland. Service: In May of 2011 we visited Bridge on good recommendation. We were looking for a spot for our rehearsal dinner for September of 2011. -Met with GM made reservation. in May -Were told there was a minimum of $1600 (we were planning on canceling at this point) (~$1600 for 15 people- That is 106 per - person!) -Was then called in June by a different manager telling us that there was no minimum and that we still had a reservation (~ we then proceeded with reservation.) -The menu is seasonal so we were contacted in July with the seasonal menu. -Contacted them in August to talk about the menu and they don't have our reservation and now there is a $1200 minimum.. It is amazing to me that in this economy there is still a minimum for restaurants like this... along with the fact that there is a minimum for a group as small as 15!!! I've SHOWED UP at a restaurant with 15 no reservation and no problems. Bridge we really tried... but the food was sub par and the service was even worse. I can only in good conscious recommend this place for grabbing a beer.

I have been to this restaurant once before when they were called the 3 Fish. Back then, they were a fine dining restaurant. I brought my sister and her friends for dinner there when they were visiting from Florida. I can't say I remember how the food was though. Just had dinner there last Saturday with my husband. I had a soda called Maine sarsaparilla and it was good. Since this was our first time to the Bridge, we asked our waitress what their bestsellers were. After she gave us a short list, husband decided to go with the lobster roll while I chose the fish tacos - both were good, although my husband complained that he couldnt pick up the roll because the bun was too small for the amount of lobster. My fish tacos didnt come with fries or chips so I had to order the chips separate. Both were good. If I had to one critique about this place it would have to be the prices. The soda I had came in a bottle and it was $4 - the order I put in for the house potato chips was $5. Although the atmosphere is more like a family restaurant, the prices did not coincide with that atmosphere.

I had gone when they first opened and was not impressed but we just went last Monday for lunch and loved it. The staff was great. They had a fixed price menu of $15 each which included app, entry and dessert per person. It was a ton of food. Amanda nachos are fantastic. Chicken burrito and fish tacos are good. Apple fritters and bread pudding were great. Looking out at the river is always a nice plus. I would highly recommend and look forward to going for dinner soon.

Traveling in the area, the locals recommended this restaurant. We were not disappointed. Had my first fried scallop and it was fantastic! I was expecting the tiny ones and ended up getting the large diver scallops. We also had the calamari appetizer. It was very good with the pickled peppers. Service was also great, definitely try if in the area and sit outside on the deck overlooking the river.

Got to give it only 3 stars. We sat on the outside deck on a warm summer Friday night and the atmosphere was very nice. But drinks were pricy and weak (had Mojitos that were well made with practically no rum). Wife had linguini with white clam sauce. Pasta nicely cooked, but only 6 small clams and almost no chopped clams in sauce. Ok dish, but not for $23. I had broiled fish. Again good, but nothing special. A for the outside deck seating, C+ for food quality and quality and F for drinks. Many better choices in Westerly.

I've been here weekdays and weekends - days and nights. Food is delicious. Seafood options, burgers, sandwiches, salads and appetizers for snacking as well. Super nice bartenders and servers. Always have a full glass of water and constant satisfaction. It's great for a family lunch, romantic dinner or drinks with friends. Can be a little noisy if they have live music but its been great music every time I've been there. Great location-right on the river and on the outside of downtown Westerly and 5 minutes from the beaches.

i'm editing my review to 5 stars. why? everything there i've had over several visits has been consistently excellent. BIG portions, BIG menu, WONDERFUL mixed drinks (mint chocolate chip martini, drool), very fresh, beautiful presentation. i haven't had the steak, so i can't comment there. but it's a great space with a great big deck and a big indoor sit-down and stay-a-while coziness that matches well with the food. service could use a little help, but maybe they're working on it. :)

we have eaten at previous incarnations at this same location - because its a terrific spot on the river (housatonic i think?) started with our fave cocktails - dark and stormies (not everyone makes them!) and progressed to delicious meals of skirt steak and fish tacos. Nice, helpful waitstaff and a good, all-around vibe and attention to detail. definitely go back

Despite a precarious ratio of seated tables to staff, service was smooth, timely and very professional. Though I was standing at a vacant waiter station a few minutes feeling a bit nonplussed before seeing anyone, it really just seemed short handed. And despite that, throughout the meal, service was spot on. The food was great, too. I ordered their deconstructed pot pie. I was pretty amused. And the chicken was done very nicely! It was deboned of all but a leg, cooked perfectly, butter beneath the skin- One of the better prepared pieces of chicken I've had. I also splurged and ordered an appetizer, desert and an espresso and found my total at only $35. Pretty good for such a satisfying meal.

Love the idea of a restaurant right over water and the patio is a hot spot. Waited 10 minutes to get a seat in and realized that I didn't have my ID so I couldn't have a beverage :( The Buffalo Tofu Bites are yummy but the blue cheese dressing made the dish. I like the vegetarian selection but the sandwiches we ordered weren't that amazing. Because it's near the beach, expect families out for the day. We had an annoying kid with lax parents pester us while we were trying to eat. It seemed kinda busy (except not really) for our server, and we saw the food runner more than our actual server. Not a big deal because I am willing to try this place out again with booze involved next time.

I went to The Bridge on Christmas Eve. It was my third visit in about 8 months. I went by myself while I was waiting for the house to warm up (I just came down from the Boston area). On all three occasions, the food has been very good. This past summer I spent a very pleasant Sunday afternoon sitting with one of my friends on the deck overlooking the river. We snacked on appetizers, I had a coffee and my friend had beer. On my first visit, I sat at the bar, ate my dinner, chatted with the bartender and left very satisfied. Christmas Eve - the kitchen had already closed, so I settled for desert - a very nice Key lime tart and a cup of coffee. I sat at the bar - a different bartender this time. I had a chance to say a few words to her. I did experience one minor problem not worth describing in detail here. I discussed this with the general manager and it was resolved to my satisfaction. Enough said. I'll come back to Bridge. The food is good. Pleasant atmosphere. Considerate staff.

Edit: 2/17/14 Previously I had given Bridge 4 stars. My family really liked this place & came here often. Over the past year though, things seem to have gone drastically downhill. The food quality has suffered & service has become non-existent. I can't point to exactly when it started, but some examples of things that've left a bad taste in our mouth include a bowl of mussels that weren't cleaned (beards still attached), numerous incorrect orders, receiving checks for the wrong table, having to wait more than 20 minutes for our check after our plates have been cleared, simply because we can't find our server. And now we've discovered that 2 of our favorite items are no longer on the menu (the mushroom ravioli & the lobster mac & cheese), giving us fewer reasons to return. I keep hoping that Bridge will return to the place we loved, but perhaps my hopes are misplaced. I only know we won't be in a hurry to head back anytime soon. We've left disappointed too many times lately. Old 4 star Review: Great atmosphere for a nice family meal. We all enjoy going to Bridge whether it's for a burger for the kids, or mussels for us. I'm also a big fan of their mushroom ravioli- it's truly delicious & light enough that I don't feel like I need a wheelbarrow to get to my car afterward. When the restaurant gets crowded, service definitely suffers, but we try to avoid the crowds when possible. Tasty food, lots of vegetarian options if you care about such things... but best of all, tasty food!

We have been to the Bridge many times. The food is usually excellent. The winter menu is more limited (no crab cakes). French fries are outstanding but if you want more salt you have to ask as there are no salt or pepper shakers in the cute condiment buckets. Some appetizers are too costly: The Amanda "nachos" are potato chips with cheese bacon and Frank' s hot sauce for $15. Burgers are fabulous according to my husband. I ate every piece of the skirt steak with demi glace on our latest trip. Food overall is fantastic. Space is tight in the dining room and there is a river running right by the outside dining. This is NOT a place for children on a beach vacation. Do us all a favor and take them to Burger King up the street.

They have vegetarian options - and I don't mean the frozen gardenburger type! I had the black bean burger. The taste was dominated by the guacamole and onions, so it's hard to judge the burger's flavor on it's own. Overall, I enjoyed it. The omnivores with me also liked their meals: a Reuben, fish sandwich, & oyster po-boy.

The best part of Bridge is the location! Our party of 11 sat outside in the evening and enjoyed the amazing ambiance. The staff was great, especially with our large party. They had good, creative drinks too. I got the Dark and Stormy, a combo of rum and beer, yum! My friend had a watermelon margarita which was also good. We give it a 4 out of 5 though because she felt her fish and my clam chowder could've been better seasoned. So, not quite and A+ on food, but I would come again.

For the life of me I can not figure out why this place get's such rave reviews. Because of them I have returned three times and each time have been disappointed. I can't imagine going back. The best part is by far the location and on a nice night it is very nice to sit outside on the river and watch the swans go by. Every time I have been there I have sat for at least 15 minutes before someone has come over to ask for the drink order. This is a big pet-peeve for me and one that makes no sense. No one should be ignored for this long and it's just plain dumb not to get the customers a drink as soon as possible so that they can relax while perusing the menu. It's just such an easy way to make a first good impression. Second the wait staff come across as a bunch of amateurs. I can't figure out if they think that acting cool and laid back translates into good service, which it doesn't. I ordered a Lemontini and the waiter asked me what it was. I asked him to ask the bartender if he could make it and if he couldn't I would order something else. He brought me a glass of straight vodka with a lemon wedge. This is great if you enjoy a very dry, straight up martini but it wasn't what I wanted. The peel-n-eat shrimp is a good size portion and well cooked but it's basically shrimped smothered in Old Bay seasoning. It's very messy and they supplied us with only one dried up wet-one. I could go on and on. To be fair I don't do raw bars so maybe that's where all the great reviews come from. The location is great and the restaurant itself is well done. They just really need to better train there staff, bartenders and cooks.

Johnny and the East Coast Rockers were setting up in the lounge when we arrived for our 7p dinner reservation. We were seated promptly at a nice table near the second lounge, just heading towards the outdoor patio. The recessed lighting was warm and just right for an evening dinner. I noticed soft ambient music playing in the restaurant while Johnny's band was setting up. Jeff, our waiter, was friendly and attentive. He knew the specials and the menu well. We put our drink and appetizer orders in. I had New England clam chowder, super good; lots of clams, potatoes, creamy, and we all shared the buffalo chicken nachos. Not your run-of-the-mill nachos. The buffalo sauce drizzled over the homemade potato slices was incredibly good. I didn't eat the chicken (I'm a pescetarian). Specials of the night were Maine Steamers, Fluke, Bluefish, and a Beef Tenderloin over Fettucine. We ordered the Beef Tenderloin special, Dave's Gumbo, and I had the Glazed Salmon over Mashed Sweet Potato and Garlic Roasted Brussel Sprouts. The Gumbo and the Beef Tenderloin were a hit for our friends, as it was their first time at Bridge. My Salmon dish was delish. The salmon was cooked just right, and the glaze was just enough. I love brussel sprouts anyway, but with roasted garlic, I highly recommend! Sweet mashed potato is perfect with glazed salmon. The band was really good. Not too loud from where we were sitting, playing a New Orleans kind of sound. Jeff was prompt through out our whole meal, rounding it out with an Americana coffee after our meals. Bridge is especially nice in spring and summer, My husband and I like to ride our Harleys down and sit out on the patio, overlooking the Pawcatuck River. You'll see ducks and swans every once in awhile, taking a stroll with their babies along and in the river. My all time favorite time to come to Bridge is for Sunday brunch. The whole menu is fresh and eclectic, vegan and vegetarian friendly.

I really wanted to like this place more than I did. The decor and menu are really nice. The drink menu (and we sampled more than a few of them) is a work of art. I imagine that if you are just going there for drinks, Bridge would be awesome (watermelon margaritas YUM) I ordered the 16 oz sirloin special when I was told that they were out of the the rib eye on the menu. I can't say anything good about my meal, but can't say anything bad, either. The steak was a bland piece of meat, the roasted red potatoes were the same red potatoes you've ever gotten with a steak that came with roasted red potatoes. Our server, Daniel, did a great job (he noticed that the food runner did not give me a steak knife and gave me one w/o me asking)..afterward, we had more yummy drinks on the deck. I look forward to trying Bridge again!

Love the outdoor summer/warm weather seating area by the river. Cheerful staff, tasty menu and bar choices to pick from. Better than average wines by the glass. Regular menu and specials give me many choices (eclectic enough to please my whims). Fresh delicious raw bar, decent oyster picks... I had one of their seasonal/specials and my dining partner had a one of their regular vegetarian dishes. I am looking forward to going back.

We've been here for lunch three times. Mostly because: it has beautiful outdoor seating on a nice deck over the river. This aspect forgives almost all other sins. Some other things: 1. Service has been inconsistent. Okay, actually, they have messed up at least one thing from our order every single time. But they've been very kind about it, and quickly amended the mistakes. 2. The chicken club (without bread) was great--the tomato perfect, and the chicken very flavorful. 3. The fish tacos are pretty good (flour tortillas) but made with swordfish, which is a little too strong for a fish taco, in my opinion. 4. They have a nice wine list, and beer selection (even Redbridge gluten-free beer!). 5. The spring salad is also pretty good--but watch out, the fried egg is fried in bread crumbs. 6. There are signs that you can take your dog to their patio for "yappy hour"--dog-friendly! In sum, sitting outside on the river is so lovely, you won't mind if your food isn't entirely perfect, or delivered as you ordered it.

Fish taco's overflowing with stuff awesome presentation, Dave's Gaspacho was as thick as it gets loaded with meat and seafood. and the flounder was cooked to perfection. Took my parents out to dinner and had a great evening sitting up against the windows overlooking the river. highly recommend. and if it is warm out grab a seat in the middle of the river on the deck.

I was very impressed with the food and service at Bridge. The ambiance is lovely; warm colors wide wood plank flooring, old pictures of Napattree Point in the bathroom--which thankly was very clean and fresh smelling. For food we started with the mussels app. They were well done in a wine shallot sauce, with bread for dunking. For a meal I had the fish tacos; the menu didnt sepcify what type of fish they were--i guessed sword fish. They were really good, messy with a slighly spicy aioli sauce. I would for sure go back and recommend to a friend

Stopped here for dinner with kids and was extremely happy with the service, food, and overall atmosphere! Fish tacos were excellent, as were the wings, calamari (was a very large serving), grilled Blackfish, and fish and chips. Will definitely be back!!!!

Limited menu but the food was pretty good. Really cool vibe in the restaurant and the location on the water was very nice. I'd go back again to try some of their other dishes.

The location is wonderful. However, I've eaten here twice and have been underwhelmed by the food on both occasions. Want to love it - hoping it will improve.

I came home to RI this past weekend and was taking the train into Westerly. At that point I did my legwork to try and find a place in the area that would could have dinner. That's when I came across Bridge. After looking over the menu I was extremely excited! The vegetarian sandwich caught my eye and I couldn't even wait to give this place a try. We went on Friday night, so I made sure that I called to get a reservation. When we arrived we were going to be taken to the upstairs seating but since my grandmother was going to be joining us I quickly asked if they had a table downstairs, which they did and they were able to accommodate us. My parents and I arrived first and the service was attentive, our waitress, Amber came over and asked if we wanted to order any drinks but we started with water. Soon thereafter the rest of the gang showed up. My parents ordered the bridge-arita which according to my mother (who has the best margs ever) said it was very good. My grandmother got the chocolate martini which was only $4. Talk about a quick and cheap way to knock yourself on your ass! For apps my dad got the wedge salad and my brother got the new England clam chow-dah. It was nice that they offered both version of the chowder but if you know anything, you always order new England. Both enjoy their apps. So now it finally came down to the moment I had been waiting for. There are four vegetarian sandwich's options on the menu. I knew I could count out the falafel pita but one knows that Pick Pockets has the best falafel so we don't mess with that. So that left me with the option of a portabello sandwich, black bean burger or bbq temph. I first asked if they would be able to make sliders of all three. Strike 1. I followed up with what is your most popular vegetarian sandwich, Amber told me it was the black bean burger (which is baked in the oven and then finished in oil which was okay by me, I do preferred all baked though.) Strike 2. So I ordered the black bean burger. Good size portion, topped with guac and jack pepper cheese. I skipped the bun. Now a good veggie burger doesn't fall apart, this fell apart and the flavor was was very boring. I was totally let down by this, and shocked that it was their number one. Strike 3: not going with my first instinct and ordering the BBQ temph burger. I also subbed in sweet potato fries for the home made chips. The rest of the table had: fish tacos, halibut, scallops, and the chicken "BLT." The fish tacos were okay but don't compare to our go to at the Mist. If you LOVE fish tacos and want to have the best fish taco ever, go to the Ocean Mist in Matunuck. The scallops, were deep fried and served with fries and coleslaw, my grandmother thoroughly enjoyed them. But 5 scallops that were decent sized for $22 ... worth it? No. The Halibut was reallly good, a really generous portion of food for only $16. Maybe they mixed the pricing up. The Chicken "BLT" you're standard grilled piece of chicken with lettuce, bacon and tomato. But my brother enjoyed it. The home made chips came with this meal and they are pretty tasty! Then the table decide to share a piece of chocolate cake with mousse layers. I had a very little bite, I love chocolate, anything chocolate and was not impressed by it. The service was good and attentive but overall it wasn't what I thought it was going to be. And for 6 people a tab of $150 for what we got for food I also didn't think was worth it. Maybe my whole experience would have been different if I was sitting outside overlooking the river .. but I wouldn't bank on it. Can't say I'll be back anytime soon!

Seriously. You really want to like Bridge, because the atmosphere is amazing and the place looks hip and cool. But a restaurant should not be encouraged by an entire town year after year if the food there sucks and the service is awful. I've been to bridge three or four times and every single time they mess up the order and the whole experience is ruined. Last night I went out with three friends, and the server laughed at my friend who asked if they had wine coolers. If you are going to be that pretentious and mean to your customers, you BETTER provide perfect service, and serve the woman first. Also, they had run out of three of the menu items we ordered. Took predictably 20-25 minutes to even SEE a drink, let alone the food. The food is ok. Hit or miss. Go to Bridge for the bar; don't go for dinner and keep pretending it's wonderful just because it is a pretty atmosphere. I hate you Bridge.

We like going to the Bridge because it has a nice ambience and it has a nice view overlooking the Pawcatuck river. The standard menu has a lot of variety, but tonight I decided to order one of the specials, fried whole belly Ipswich clams. When the waitress, who was very nice and pleasant, brought them out, my first thought was they were a bit skimpy on the clams especially as an entree, maybe ten or twelve on top of fries. Then I got the bill and saw they were $28!!! I asked the waitress if that was really their price and she said "well, the clams were Ipswich". I am very particular about fried clams and will only order the whole bellies and have never paid over $20 at any restaurant, Ipswich or not. The waitress offered to speak to the manager to see if she could have the price adjusted, which was very gracious. I told her I wasn't looking to pay less, but just wanted to provide feedback that I thought it was overpriced and would never order it again if that was what they were going to charge for it. She spoke to the manager any way, but came back and said he wasn't going to lower it. We'll still go back to the Bridge, but it won't be for the fried clams. So, Buyer Beware.

The Bridge has so many things going for it - a beautiful location, friendly staff, and a menu that is interesting and locally and sustainably sourced. Unfortunately their portion-to-price ratio is way off. After a long day, I wandered into the bar for a beer and a quick dinner. The bartender was friendly and the fireplace in the corner added a nice touch to the atmosphere on a crisp evening. They offer grilled cheese and tomato soup as a pairing on the menu and it sounded like the perfect comfort food for a late dinner. Thinking ahead to the next day, I ordered the mushroom ravioli to go. The soup was delicious and the portion was okay, but the grilled cheese was laughable; slightly bigger than a deck of cards. If they'd served two sandwiches of that size it would have nearly satisfied my hunger and been worth the $8. But, I was still hungry. The most disappointing part was my lunch experience today. I eagerly opened the brown package at lunch today and instead of seeing $17 worth of gorgeous ravioli, it looked like I was given someone else's leftovers. I wasn't. That's just how small and pathetic this serving size was, and that's what prompted me to write this review. A $17 pasta dish at every other restaurant I've ever eaten at, including others in Westerly, would easily have fed me for two meals. I had to have a granola bar after my ravioli today. Needless to say, I wasn't the only one in the lunch room and others heard me grumbling. Several people echoed that they had also been disappointed by the small portion sizes. I spent $38 (including a 20% tip - the bartender was great, there's no need to penalize her) and certainly did NOT get my money's worth. I was charged $8 + $17 = $25 for my food, but it was worth about $6 + $8 = $14. This was my third time eating at Bridge and it will likely be my last. Bridge management if you read this please consider changing your portion sizes and/or prices. I want your restaurant to be successful and I think it has so much potential.

The staff is always so friendly and willing to answer any and all questions regarding ingredients on their menu. To this vegan that means a lot! They have one of the largest vegetarian/vegan menus in the area. Definitely worth many visits!

We definitely had a mixed experience, but I will say the food was good. We went in for lunch and one of the first things I noticed was the zany paint job that covered the walls. This spot has one of the prettiest views for a restaurant in Westerly -why so much distraction? Plus, the colors all clash with the wood. That aside, we had a very nice waitress who was helpful and quick. My companion ordered a salad that was not at all what was expected, and she happily switched it without delay. The menu could really benefit from more description - people like to know exactly what they will be getting and what will be on the plate and what kind of dressing it is. This will also reduce the number of questions for the wait staff. I had the cobb salad and had asked if the shrimp on the salad, could be replaced with the lobster salad that they had for a sandwich for a little extra. I was a little ticked when the bill came that they had charged me $20 for a $13 salad, when the sandwich (with more lobster) was $19 - but I can get over that. The salad itself was tasty. The restaurant seemed clean enough - but the bathroom needed some attention. We might go back, but with so many fantastic restaurants in the area - this spot will face some stiff competition in a spot that seems to turn over every few years. Why go here when for the same price you can go to Bravo Bravo in Mystic and have an amazing experience?
