If you are interested in Greek food and a view, this is the place to go. I have been there several times over the years through different owners but the place stayed so it is good to see that. That said, the new owners have done a great job with their menu highlighting the Greek dishes. I highly recommend the cheese flambe. Warning : Make your dining partners order their own cheese flambe or you will only have a bite! The bar itself is okay, decent staff, mostly local yokels so you can't miss out on the local flavor.

Server Jason was great...food was average at best. Agree with other posters...overpriced.

Great place to get a drink and a meal. The menu is extensive, view is awesome and help is mostly attentive. I'd suggest the wedge salad, steaks and crab cakes. Try to reserve a table by the window before coming.

Lauren and I both went, so here is our review: Curtis: I date a girl in York, PA, I live in Western MD, I work in Chantilly VA, I party in Baltimore and DC. I eat A LOT of different things in many different places. I am still hoping to find one place in York PA that actually makes me get cravings. I had very high hopes for this place, but was sadly let down once again. The Eagles Nest has the right idea, they have some great menu offerings and a great atmosphere, but don't back it up with either their service or their cooking. I will say that the management is very accommodating, and do care about your meal. It is somewhat unfortunate to find this out though, because the only reason I did, was because we asked to speak with them. This place has major potential, but fell short tonight. Overcooked filet, undercooked scallops, overcooked steak, slow service and high prices don't get many stars in my book. I'm HOPING it was just an off night, but I know too many restaurants that are wonderful at their worst. I don't think I will be returning. Lauren: It all began when the waitress spilled some dressing on my dress and did not offer an apology. I ordered the beef medallions with pepper creme reduction, the meat was overcooked, over peppered, and DROWNED in the reduction. The waitress made the mistake of offering an extra side, so when expected, and did not receive, I was a little unhappy. My glass of wine took over 20 minutes to be received, and the waitress had a blame-storming on everyone else other than herself. An attitude was soon to follow, as well as a complete destruction of my evening there. I do not believe I will be returning.

We arrived a bit late 815pm for a Fri nite dinner, so got an excellent seat spot with fantastic views of nite time sparkly York . Perfect pleasant prompt friendly service. My husband says his prime rib was the best he has had in years. I had the Spanikopita. My friend is from Greece and this tasted just like his. Excellent. Great mixology from the bar. Mmmm and those rolls! We were too stuffed to eat dessert so we took the rice pudding and cheesecake home to enjoy for breakfast . AWESOME.

As do many restaurants that struggle to cook fish properly, Eaglesnest buries it's fish under layers of other ingredients. The end result is almost a casserole that highlights everything except the fish. Nothing else was there to redeem this flaw.

Hubs and I had a lovely romantic dinner on a rainy Monday night. It was a little disconcerting to pull into the parking lot with lots of empty spaces. That is usually not a good sign. However, because there had been a huge thunderstorm in the hour before we left our house we figured they were slow because no one wants to go out in bad weather. I am so glad we didn't chicken out! We were seated next to a wall of windows overlooking the valley and the view was spectacular as the sun set and all of the city lights came on. The room itself is filled with rustic hewn beams, warm wood and soft light. Our server came to the table quickly and but gave us time to read through the large menu to make our decisions. We had Asian spring rolls with a ginger sauce for an appetizer. They arrived hot and were really tasty even though the filling was a little sparse. My husband had the soup of the day- chicken and black bean. He loved it. I had a side salad with Greek dressing. I frequently complain when salads are served in huge chunks that need to be cut before they can be consumed and this salad was no different, but I was happy that it was served on a plate that allowed me to cut the lettuce without the other vegetables falling from the plate onto the table. For our entrees, I ordered the queen cut of prime rib, medium rare, with a crab cake add-on and hubs had the Sea Combo #2- haddock, jumbo shrimp, scallops and a crab cake. He ordered cranberry salad as a side and I had the garlic mashed potatoes. My prime rib was a little more done than I would consider medium rare but it was delicious and a nice cut that wasn't too fatty. It was served with a little cup of au jus that was well flavored and accented the beef nicely. The mashed potatoes were a little bit gluey- standard for mash made with red skinned potatoes. They had a light garlic flavor in them that wasn't overwhelming and just enough lumps left in them to be rustic and appetizing. My husband loved his assorted broiled seafood. The scallops were of really good quality and expertly cooked- something that is oddly difficult to do. The shrimp were huge. We both thought the crab cakes were among the best we've ever had-- huge hunks of jumbo lump crab barely held together but broiled and nicely browned. We shared a slice of strawberry cheesecake for dessert. Our server told us the desserts are made in house. It was also very good. Throughout the meal our server (can't remember her name!) was helpful and friendly. She replaced our beverages quickly and offered good suggestions when asked. Overall, I think we really enjoyed our meal and the view. I think next time I will try their Greek specialties like the spanakopita. Our check was lower than I expected but the menu prices are mostly in the $22-$28 range for entrees. The seafood appetizers are around $12-$14 but given the quality, location and ambiance, I think their prices are reasonable. We will back.

On my first night in PA, I was treated to a nice dinner at The Eagles Nest. The restaurant itself is rustic and charming, with a bar, dining room and outside patio areas. Their picture windows offer pretty views of the tree-blanketed valley, which is lovely at dusk. Even on Tuesday, the parking lot was moderately full - a promising sign - and I was told it is brimming on weekends. We ordered their famous crab cakes for main (which were perfectly formed half spheres of succulent crab meat with little filler... the sign of a good cake). The portion was huge, and broiled nicely, and also came with two sides (including mixed vegetables, salad, fries, and mashed potato). The standard house salad came with a choice of dressing on the side, which was not very exciting. I enjoyed the mashed red potatoes however, which had a subtle garlic flavour, albeit not smoothly mashed. Our server was friendly and attentive, and was able to recommend US wines to pair with our meal. Overall, a yummy, substantial and filling dinner!

Teresa is so friendly and a perfect waitress. She even handle two teenage young men with us with grace! All of our food was perfect too!!

They treated our wedding party's reception dinner miserably. Slow service starved everyone for over an hour and the manager wouldn't even consider trying to give us a discount on the wine or top to make things right. Don't book anything important here!!

Excellent customer service from Bryan. Give that man a raise! He turned what was a pretty crappy day, into a good one for me. There is still great customer service out there! Great food and drinks also

Pleasant views. The food is average, but for York, I'd say slightly better than average. Certainly not the best.

Seafood imperial casserole was wonderful! Excellent service. Very clean. Nice snow covered view. Thanks for a great Thanksgiving dinner. We will be back.

Rating is for the service and quality of the drinks. Came here on a whim because I heard they have good food. Plus other Yelpers helped cinch or decision too. By the time we arrived, the kitchen had already closed (typical York) and they were cleaning up for the evening. However we did sit down at the bar and a ordered few drinks. The Eagles Nest has some of the best drinks and cocktails that I think are served in York. Our Bartender was extremely knowledgeable and friendly and did not seem anxious to kick us out. She allowed us to finish our drinks as well as the other patrons. We will definitely be back for the food very soon.

Thought I would give the Eagles Nest a try after not dining there for many, many years. Ordered Calamari and it was under cooked and rubbery. Also order the "new" seafood soup. It was creamy with a hint of old bay and sherry but little seafood. I paired the soup with a Greek salad. Salad was ok however thinking that I ordered a side salad, I was actually served a dinner salad. At the time served, I did not mention that I only wanted the side salad. After eating a 10th of the giant salad and being charged 12.95 verses 3.95, I explained the mistake to the server. As expected she consulted the manager about adjusting the bill. To my surprise she came back and said that "the manager could do nothing." To add insult to injury an 18% gratuity was added because we were a party of six. Judge for your selves but I will not go to the Eagles Nest again due to management's clear disdain for the customer. To sum up - mediocre, overpriced food - not worth the visit.

We just concluded our Christmas party here. A good time by all. Food was/is really good and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. The staff is friendly and helpful. A little slow to clear the table but all in all we all had a great time. Come here and enjoy yourself.

Food is excellent! Service was ok. We were sitting upstairs with a beautiful view, but had a small table. My fiancé and I went there for my surprise engagement. None of the dishes were cleared off the table from dinner so when the dessert came my plate fell on the floor from sitting half way on the table. My fiancé talked with the waitress and manager; who both said, " it wasn't our fault so you will have to purchase a new piece" Very disappointed...

We made reservations and went here on NYE. The menu wasn't the full menu, but none the less there were still adequate choices. The view of the city is gorgeous, even at night. For a steak and seafood restaurant the food was priced right. Everyone in our party was happy with their selections. The waiter was up beat and very accommodating. I would definitely eat here again.

Went here for a nice dinner two times over the last couple months. Food was delicious and nice sized portions. Very reasonable prices. Wait staff the first time was excellent, second time took awhile to get our order and check. Will definitely be back!

Enjoyed a lovely dinner on a Monday night. Surprised to see the restaurant with so many customers on a weeknight -- speaks to the quality of the food. The dining room is quiet with many of the tables overlooking the valley. On a winter's night, with the trees bare of their leaves, I am sure that the view is breathtaking. On a summer night, the view was still nice. Enjoyed an appetizer of crabmeat and spinach dip -- could easily have served four to six, depending on appetites. The dip was accompanied by generous rusks of toasted bread. in addition, we were served warm rolls and butter. Had we not already ordered dinner, we could have made a meal on the two, but we persevered and decided that we would deal with our indulgence later. My husband ordered the porterhouse steak -- a generous portion that was cooked rare to his liking. I had a small bite, and though I am not a fan of meat, it was seasoned perfectly, tender, and flavorful. I indulged and ordered the crab cake. It was heavenly! Big chunks of lump crabmeat with no filler -- just a soupcon of mustard dressing to hold the concoction together. Lightly broiled, the outside edges were just crispy enough to caramelize the edges while the inside was moist and flavorful. I savored each forkful and was sorry to see it end. The sides and salads were lightly prepared, crisp, and fresh. They did not overpower the entrees, nor did they serve as fillers. The star of each plate -- crabcake and steak -- were only enhanced by their presence. No room for dessert. Service was impeccable. We were allowed sufficient time to complete each course without being rushed through. Dishes were cleared and glasses filled quietly and discreetly. I highly recommend this lovely restaurant for a quiet repast or special dinner.

Had lunch here the other day. Very noisy, 2 large groups in dining room. We couldn't enjoy our own conversation. The worst thing was the imitation crab in the seafood casserole imperial. Imitation crab?? The casserole had a nice flavor, but the imitation crab was a shock.

One of my favorite restaurants with a beautiful view of York. I had a custom martini and they know how to cook a rare steak. Recommended the seafood stuffed Portobello to very pleased companion.

Went for a nice Sunday afternoon lunch but got not so nice service. I ordered prime rib medium but got very well done. My sever spilled au jus all over my plate. Not worth coming back until a new cook is in the kitchen.

They don't seem to care for prearranged groups of 25+. We were not able to order off the menu. We were only allow to select from 4 entrees. There were no prices on our limited menu. No appetizers were offered. After the fact we learned that the prices were increased to banquet prices plus 20% gratuity was added each the bar and food tabs.

I recently invited my German business colleague to Eagles Nest to dinner. I live locally and thoroughly enjoyed every meal Cris (the owner) and his staff consistently provided me and wanted my colleague to experience the same. As a result, my colleague was not disappointed and experienced the same utmost satisfaction with his meal. In Germany, a good steak is not readily available and he always orders a prime steak when he visits the U.S. The following days of my friends visit he ordered steaks in NY and NJ. There was no comparison to what he experienced at Eagles Nest, according to my friend. Believe me, I am not exaggerating. He could not stop raving. Prior to his departure back to Germany, my colleague insisted I soon return to Eagles Nest and I again inform Cris of his utmost delight and appreciation for this fine meal. This was a total dining experience, including not only the exceptional meal, but the atmosphere in the dining room, cleanliness and a server who was knowledgeable, accommodating and extremely personable. Furthermore, ApriI, Jess and Hope behind the bar will ensure you are always welcomed and present professional and efficient service to your every need. I guarentee the next time my colleague visits the east coast, he will insist I return him to Eagles Nest. Thank you, Cris, for creating this fantastic dining experience.

Recently dined with another couple. This was our first visit since it was remodeled. Very nice ambiance, extremely gracious staff and excellent food. We had a wonderful time and will return. Can't wait to try the new patio. Highly recommend it.

Food is good but on the more expensive side not outrageous just a little more than a typical casual chain. The quality of food makes the price worth it. The service is average nothing to brag or complain. The drinks are a little on the heavy which i appreciated. The view is very nice, its on the side of a hill.

A full service bar but they don't serve lemonade, sweet tea, or root beer. Menu is pricey and selections insist of steak or fish. Food was good but nothing to write home about. Very disappointing experience.

The Eagles Nest was amazing!! I went with a good friend for dinner and we arrived late (around 8:30pm) and were surprised the restaurant was still crowded. We were promptly seated and our server greeted us with waters. I forget our servers name but he was Hilarious and very fun! I had the chicken chesapeake and my friend had beef tips and a crap cake (it was on special). It was one of the best meals I've ever had. The four stars are only because the service was a little slow, however the food was amazing. I would definitely recommend this to anyone!

Loved it. Don't know what all of these other bad reviews are, but our experience was exceptionally done seafood, very kind servers and staff, and a beautiful facility. I got a crab cake and steak which were perfect, and the sea scallops were a huge portion and done perfectly. Its a higher end place, but its very reasonably priced for what you get. Our total bill was 85.00 with two glasses of wine, one beer, and three seafood/steak entrees. Overall not a bad deal!

Do yourself a favor & avoid this restaurant by all means possible. The service is poor, the food is average at best, the pricing is high & worst of all is the attitude of the management/owners!!! Waited 25 minutes for drinks at a table in the bar area, the bartender didn't want to get us drinks because there should be a waiter along soon!! Waiter finally arrived to tell us he was alone on the floor, he had 2 other large parties & he would try to squeeze us in! We ordered drinks & food right away, 15 minutes for the drinks, 35 minutes for the food, served incomplete, as 2 items were missing, waiter stated he'd be right back with them. 25 minutes later we were still waiting for the rest of the food with everyone else done & a table of completely empty drinks. Knocked on the kitchen door, asked for the manager & I was told she was on the patio having dinner & didn't want to be disturbed!!! 15 minutes later she arrived, we explained our experience & she told us she would take off the entrees we hadn't received as a courtesy!! As we left, I stopped by the owners table outside, finding them eating & drinking on the empty patio. I told them how disappointed we were with our experience & the owner told me I was rude to disturb them while they were eating & to go find somewhere else to eat from now on!! I'm not 100% certain that I understand why no one I know ever goes there anymore & the parking lot is always empty!!

I really, really enjoyed the Eagle's Nest. Their menu is really interesting. Not just the same old stuff. I had a dish with a huge serving of Halibut and a small filet mignon doused in crab newburg. AMAZING! And it was only $17.95 (also came with soup or salad and a side dish) Everything we had was top notch, from the Greek appetizer platter to the dessert. Just incredibly delicious food, and the ambiance is really nice as well. I will be back!!

Terrible food, lousy service, high price Ive given this place three chances over the course of a year or so and each time I left severely disappointed/disgusted. Pros: The few Greek selections may or may not be good. I wont be coming back to find out. Cons: They only have 1 decent beer listed on the drink menu. The problem is that they always claim to be out of it, OR say that they don't offer it. waitstaff - very cold/rude/slow/attitude problems (the ones i had were) would not bring extra bread when asked, NEVER refilled my drink (had an empty glass for over an hour), lied about food, didn't offer dessert, etc etc management - very cold as well busboy - stopped to flex his bicep at me (no idea why) took 2 1/2 hours for 2 people to eat (1 appetizer, 2 main courses) THIS IS INEXCUSABLE waaaaaaaaaaaaaay overpriced I don't mind paying a lot for a meal if the food is good. This stuff is ultra cheap garbage though. And I have tried different menu items every time. Crab Dip Bread Bowl is like cold chowder with some imitation crab sprinkled on top. Ribs were fatty and dry, dipped in this nasty sauce. Filet Mignon looked pathetic next to its overcooked vegetable medley. Chicken Parmesan is the worst I have ever had in my life. That includes tv dinners. they dont give out those greek donut things at the end of your meal anymore workers seen smoking outside parking lot sucks

We have eaten here a few times and have always been pleased but not blown away. Their menu is very large (literally, they are very heavy). Service has always been good. Beer selection is not very good. Sam Adams is as good as it gets here. We will go back, but only if someone else is picking the restaurant.

The Eagle's Nest closed down a few years ago, and has just recently re-opened with new owners and an extensively remodeled building. The menu is Seafood and Steaks with some Greek favorites thrown in. The Eagle's Nest has always had a great view overlooking most of York, but the redone interior is quite nice. They take reservations for parties of 6 or more. Food was tasty, had a unique flavor and service was fast and friendly for a busy Thursday night. the dessert menu includes homemade baklava and cheesecake.

First time at Eagles Nest. The seating on Friday at 6:15 was immediate. We ordered the crab cake and the filet and both were cooked as requested and we finished with a freshly made delicious cheescake and a incredible lemon something?. Prices were very reasonable. Since we dine out most of the week, we get very critical. There was not one thing that could have been better. Our server Angie was charming, a pro and timed everything perfectly. We will definitely be coming back.

I don't really know where to start...I'd love to provide an in depth review of the food, the service, the atmosphere, but we were served so quickly and rushed through our meal so quickly that our experience was a blur! Eagles Nest had come recommended by friend from North Baltimore Co, and we were happy to make the drive up to York to try out the recommended food and great evening views. It is nice that they accept reservations, and we were able to get an early seating (6 p.m.) on a Saturday night for 4 (2 adults and 2 kids). We were about 5 minutes late for our reservation, and the hostess was noticeably perturbed. The evening went downhill from there - quickly! I guess our server figured that since we had our kids with us, we'd rather hurry our meal up. Or maybe they just wanted to turn our table quickly. Either way, salads came before we were able to get started on our cocktails, meals came out before we finished our salads, and the server was anxious to take away our plates as soon as we finished eating. I'm not kidding! I placed my fork down after taking my last bite and "johnny on the spot" had my plate off the table before I could look up! Regardless, food was okay. London Broil was okay, crab cake was okay (too wet), serving portions were small. My wife's flounder was small, but okay. Greek salads were good, but are they really worth an extra $2.50 each over the house salad? Prices overall are too high for the quality and experience. Wine selection is really poor. They definitely need a sommelier to help them out! Beer selection was okay. We're not going back. There are too many good restaurants in the Baltimore/York corridor to come back here. It's too bad. The view from the upstairs dining room overlooking York is very nice.

Ate at the Eagles Nest a few months ago. It was great! The lighting in the dining room at dinner is a little dim, but the room is very cozy and has huge windows which overlooks York.
