The BEST Chinese food hands down anywhere. The vegetarian selection is mind blowing. The service is amazing, the prices are great. I travel 40 mins once a month just to eat here.

Not the best Chinese food in Harleysville, Pa. Just okay. I wouldn't go here again. Food is soggy at best.

Hunan Best.... a befitting name for what I think is the top Chinese restaurant in the area (and I've tried almost every one in the Schwenksville/Harleysville/Skippack region). The food is always top notch and freshly prepared; the vegetables are crisp and colorful and the meats and seafood always cooked just right, avoiding the greasy mess that some Chinese restaurants push out. They offer a great variety of Chinese-American fare, some traditional Chinese cuisine that you may not find elsewhere, as well as delving into some alternate Asian style dishes such as Singapore Mei Fun and a few Thai dishes. Hunan Best is also very good at adapting to personal requests. You want lower salt? Less oil? Sauce on the side? Brown rice instead of white? They will be happy to accommodate your needs. The seated area is rarely full, but their take-out business is the backbone of the restaurant. And deservedly so, as they are fast (usually less than 15 minutes from call-in to pick-up) and accurate. While the price can get high for some orders, like most Chinese restaurants, they give you heaping portions so you essentially get enough food for 2 meals. I guess the best endorsement would be to say that I've thrown out all the take-out menus from all the other Chinese restaurants in the area. Hunan Best is the ONLY Chinese restaurant in the region that gets my money anymore.

got food for take out so no comments on the decor and such really, except the boyfriend said it was "fancy" for a chinese place when he went in to pick it up. ok now onto the food. we got an order of crab rangoons for an appetizer, which were good with light flaky wrapper, but there was only about a 1/2 tablespoon at most of actual substance inside them, whereas i prefer and usually get more at any other place. we ordered some general tso's chicken which was nice, came in larger pieces, and the sauce was very yummy. came with a generous portion of white sticky rice. mmm. also we got some pork fried rice. pretty average. bright vegetables but their consistency to me felt like frozen veggies instead of fresh [hell, they're RIGHT NEXT TO A GROCERY STORE] otherwise pretty decent though. overall, pretty decent food but somewhat expensive for smallish portions compared to other places. pretty sure i'll just stick with rising tide in philly though for excellent chinese

They call it Hunan Best for a reason! DELICIOUS FOOD! They give generous portions too. They have THE BEST General Tso's chicken.... Mmmmm! Love it! A must-eat!

Good standard Chinese food at a reasonable price. Quick take out and pick up. Friendly staff and servers. My favorite is the orange beef. No real bells and whistles, just straight forward and consistent food.

After trying just about every Chinese restaurant from Harleysville to Quakertown, I think this place has the best food of all. Their Tuesday and Friday lunch buffet is reasonable and gives an excellent overview of this place's strengths ( I've given up on every other buffet out there!) If you've missed this place tucked away next to Hennings grocery, give it a try, you'll like it.

without a doubt, Hunan's Best is the greatest Chinese food in Harleysville. Safe to say, they are better than most in the entire area. Hidden next to the hulking Henning's buffet, the interior dining area is impeccably clean, as are restrooms.... The staff are very courteous and accommodating. Although we usually enjoy their food via take out, their lunch buffet twice a week is fresh, affordable, and DELICIOUS. My daughter and I really enjoy the authentic flaming pu pu platter. Their brown sauce is heavenly!y husband and I ate always impressed with the size and quantity of the shrimp in 2 of our favorites... Shrimp with mixed vegetables and house special fried rice... Mmmmm note I'm hungry, lol

The woman that runs Hunan Best(at least I think she runs it, because she is there all of the time) is really awesome. She takes a legitimate interest in her customers' preferences if you aren't busy rushing out with your takeout order. The last time I was in, I mentioned how much I love the Dan Dan noodles at Han Dynasty in Philadelphia. She said she could make it for me. She also said she could make anything I wanted. Though I could have tested her by ordering a General Tso's chicken bust of Napoleon, I instead ordered the Dan Dan noodles the next day, super spicy. They hit the spot. I like this place.

We like to get takeout here even though it isn't too close because they let us custom-order dishes, like the singapore mei fun with extra shrimp and light on the oil, and the yang chow fried rice with brown rice, dried shrimp, and extra egg. It's not Chinatown-quality food but it's great for the area and a good option for Americanized takeout. Plus, the owners are really sweet.

Reviewer Chris T says it all. Above average ambience and decor for a Chinese restaurant for sure while also maintaining reasonable prices. I had the hot and sour soup which though had a bit of cornstarchiness was fresher tasting than most. I also had the veg roll which was crisp and not oily, how a roll should taste. I finally had the "amazing chicken" which was delicioust-light, fresh, and without any of the gloopy brown sauce that defines American Chinese food. Portions are, however, slightly smaller than you standard chinese restaurant--okay in my book. One of the better Chinese restaurants in the burbs along with Gourmet Wok in Chalfont.

This is our go-to Chinese place in Harleysville. The prices are average. The food is a little above average. We love the lunch buffet. It has good variety and they keep it stocked. Everyone is always friendly whether we dine in or take out.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
