    Is it a steak house or a salad bar? Is it a low rent Stuart Andersons or an upscale Denny's? Is it possible that is all these things? Just what the heck is a Sizzler? Traveling down to the land of the aging Hippy for a family thing we had a good time and were starting back when all the sudden there were cries of hunger pains before we even got to Hwy 126. When querying the Wife and the Tax Deduction about their preference the Wife offered up Sizzler. I hadn't been in a decade or so I think and I'm always up for adventure dining so we pointed the Yelpmobile toward Sizzler. In we walked and stood in line in a narrow line reminiscent of the pen cows wait in before they become steak. We could see the salad bar and it was nice they had two menus along the wall so the line keeps moving and no one gawks for too long. We ordered at the register and then took our drinks and salad plates to the table of our choice. It was nice to be able to sit where we wanted since I noticed while taking the Tax Deduction to the bathroom that one side of the dining area had better air conditioning than the other. The servers were all nice enough, they kept the refills of drinks, clean salad plates and cheese bread coming as we scurried too and from the salad/taco/dessert bar area. The meat was surprisingly well cooked and well seasoned, the fried shrimp was large and the baked potato was perfect. If I have any qualms about Sizzler they are gone now. In the past I always thought of them as overpriced but now I was surprised at the value. I definitely see that the quality of the salad bar varies from restaurant to restaurant but the basics are all the same and that's good enough. I will return.

    2/2/13 PM "Carol" was terrible at waiting on us, she never checked on us. Hubs and I had to get up and get our own drinks twice. Carol did nothing but socialize with other elderly people, and she actually sat down at a full table next to us! The food was good though, thank goodness.

    If you are the kind of guy that likes that feeling you get when you walk into a strip club before noon on a weekday, you will really like the ambiance at Sizzler. I think this is where the people who don't have souls go to enjoy all you can eat shrimp. The entertainment is good too, like the little girl in the salad bar line with half a finger up her nose, or the other little girl saying "Mommy, I don't feel good." Our waiter was very energetic, but I get the feeling he was holding something back. It was like the voices in his head were saying "Go ahead and rub that jello all over your hair," and he was like "No, I promise I'll do it when I get home." I give this place five stars.

    John the server was so nice and charged our cell phone. We were driving from CA to WA and the food is really good. Steak, prawns, and everything was great.

    I love going to Sizzler because their salad bar is the bomb. I am addicted to the chicken wings. The guy at the counter "Nick" was a complete ASS and acted like taking our order was a chore. However thank god for "Carol" our server. She was beyond amazing and you can tell she really loves her job as well as the guest. If it wasn't for Carol I don't thing we would ever go back.

    Great atmosphere. Quiet and relaxing. Very clean. The staff was helpful, prompt and friendly. Great menu selections offering a variety of options from burgers to fish and steak. Salad bar was clean, well stocked and rotated often. The garlic toast was hot and fresh not overly crunchy or soggy with buttet. Drinks were refilled promptly. Thus was my first visit to this location. I was very impressed. I opted for the unlimited salad bar. My lunch companions chose the Malibu chicken sandwich and chicken strips. Their order came with hot delicious fries. Our server Tyler was fabulous and was on top of our needs, without hovering or being overly intrusive. I enjoyed my visit and plan to return soon.

    My partner and I stopped here as we drove through town in early June. It was pretty close to closing time, but they were still open. Still, someone was mopping right by us, and the scent of pine-sol overwhelmed our food. Our server came over and asked at one point if we were going to want a second plate, which we didn't - we just wanted some salad, our steaks, and then dessert - so he actually yelled over our heads to the person cleaning up the salad bar to close it up and just leave the dessert area open. We got our desserts and ate them quickly while getting the stink eye from some of the employees. Left as fast as we could (still about 10 minutes before the closing time!). To put the cherry on top, we both got sick that night. We're not the type to overeat, that wasn't the case. We just wanted some steak. Not going there ever again.

    I went there for a good meal and instead got horrible service and the manager was too busy to help us out.The salad was all brown and wilted , Finally after about 10 minutes a guy came out to the salad bar.when I asked to get fresh salad the guy at the salad bar couldn't speak English good enough to talk to him.When my server came over He said that i couldn't talk to the manager about it because he was outside.MY husband decided that we wanted to leave and wanted our money back.So we waited about 15 minutes and got to talk to the manager,he did say he would have them bring out fresh salad but i never saw anybody bring any out. We got up and left and will never come back to Sizzler.

    Came in from out of town had to stop and get something to eat. So nasty. Worst food ever. Now I know why I've never been to one of these chains before.

    Steak and all you can eat anything is not my thing. I do like their salad bar and the simple steaks they offer. I go here on a week night when I'm hungy for a big salad bar and lots of people older than me!

    It appeared that all employees were infected with grumpyitis. It started with the cashier, whom never smiled and was stern with her delivery. We took our plates from there and could not find a cleared table in the house, therefore I walked up to the two employees chatting and of course I was ignored. I decided to interrupt them and ask if they could assist in getting us a table? No response! So I asked, are we able to go in the reserved area and he said it's not reserved. I took that as a yes and we proceeded to sit in the "reserved" area. Since this is an all-you-can-eat place, we were a little put out that we had to ask for a second plate. When the waitress brought my second drink out, it was a small glass. It seams that they have decided to save money by wanting you to use less product, (no straws, much smaller cup, no second plate). We asked for steak sauce and it took over five minutes. We have eaten several times but this was the last time.

    I haven't been here for at least 7 years and I remember why!! Being a cook and a chef I am embarrassed for the people that cook and the ones that have to serve the food to people. It is plain as day that the people are just there for a pay check and not there because of the passion to cook for people. If they took 2 more minutes and actually tried some of the food that they put out to people I don't think they would serve half the food they put out. I had fettuccini and shrimp. The shrimp was dry and the fettuccini was bland and tasted more like tomatoes than any thing. Somebody needs to teach the young ones how to cook shrimp. Not to mention we got there at 1700 hrs. And my wife orders baby back ribs. So we go and sit down and someone comes looking around to find us to tell us that they are out of ribs. How are they out of ribs at 5 p.m isn't dinner just starting? So she wanted the lobster and steak which was only 3 dollars more and they wouldn't make for the difference even though it was there mistake. Totally disappointing what happen to the service, making customers happy, I think that with this kind of service and food quality I will never go back. I want to know the supervisor that is ok with the food that is being put out and why the food is ok to be put out the way it is. Not to mention the spinach at the salad bar half was spoiled and half was good so had to pick through the spinach and just chose not too. Where is the leader ship. I guess when it's all said and done you get what you pay for. I recommend if you are looking for a good steak go just down the road by Denny's and go to holiday inn outstanding meat and they get it local from Childers by Eugene airport.

    How sad is it that I was craving The Sizzler? Good gawd... But, I was. I originally had my mind set on steak and all you can eat shrimp but changed my mind (just like a woman) at the last minute. For $11.99 I could have double Malibu Chicken including the soup/salad/taco/just about everything/sunday bar. It was too good of a deal to pass up. I added on a 12 piece shrimp for $2. The service was great, the salad bar was well stocked and clean and my Malibu Chicken was yummy. My man-folk said his steak was good and Mom in Law was happy too. OK, so it's a fast food steak place. It's friggin' Sizzler. But I like it...so there! Yes, there is a tone of "neener neener" in there. Quit being so damn snobby!

    Sizzler: all secrets revealed! Believe me, I know what I'm talking about - I put myself through college working at one of these least-common-denominator steakhouses. Good times! I know I'm going to get some flack for writing this, but the entrees are actually pretty good. The last couple of steaks I've had have been surprisingly tender, flavorful and well-seasoned, thanks to a few shakes of Lawry's Seasoning Salt (Secret!). Unfortunately, you can't get A1 or Heinz 57 (for white trash people) steak sauces any more, because they now only offer Sizzler sauce in an irritating attempt to deny you what you want so you'll buy some of their crappy product. (Just tastes like a blend of the two, btw.) The few flavors of grilled chicken breast are consistently well-cooked and juicy, which is no easy task when it comes to poultry. Everything comes with texas toast, which you may not want to admit that you enjoy. Plus, they popularized Malibu Chicken - that totally yummy other thing that you may also be cautious about admitting to having woofed down last weekend. Fyi, Malibu Sauce is nothing more than mustard and mayonnaise. (Secret!) The salad bar is a whole other scene. There are people whose entire jobs consist of slicing mushrooms, pouring out cartons of Reser's potato salad a day, constantly wiping down the tile that we've carelessly dripped shit all over and getting bawled out by fat aunt Betty. She gets so pissed and makes sure to bitch them out if they've run out of krab salad or chocolate whip dessert (the most popular item in the whole place), which is nothing more than powdered chocolate pudding and powdered creamer whipped in a mixer endlessly with water (Secret!). The people who work the salad bar live really sad lives. They often have promotions of sumpin' & salad bar for $XX, but don't do it: you'll fill up on crappy to mediocre food and then eat till you wanna barf when dinner comes. The clientele is corpulent and nasty (Secret!). They want their cheap steaks and platefuls of salad bar, and they want 'em right now, goddammit! Seriously, they represent the worst of the Springfield meme. They're glad to boss you around endlessly, let their little brats throw saltine cracker crumbs for yards around (that you'll have to vacuum and wipe up) and then leave you no tip because, hey, I ordered at the counter. These people are assholes.

    Classic American causal dining -- steaks, chicken, seafood, burgers, all-you-can-eat salad, soup, appetizer & dessert bar, complete with an occasional puddle of bile in the parking lot from an over indulgent patron. The service is fast, and friendly. The large room in the back has TVs. Quick tip: Order à la carte, skip the salad bar and save $$.
