Wow, What a surprisingly nice find. Glazed peach pork chop chef cooked exclusively for one our children with a life threatening allergy. My blackened red fish with the crab meat and sauce on top was exquisite, and was equally as great as any meal in New Orleans or Atlanta I've had. The fritters, oysters with collards were delicious. Great dinning experience tucked away at the Vicksburg country club. Don't let the club detour you, it's open to the public and very casual. High end seafood experience in a casual southern country club environment. Well be back next year.

Vicksburg, MS is one of those towns that I think of when I hear someone use the expression "the sidewalks roll up at 6pm". I think the restaurants all close about 9pm here, 10 at the latest. Roca is a fancy restaurant in Vicksburg, quite possibly the fanciest restaurant in this laid back charming little town. There are a few separate areas. There is the dining room, a bar and a separate banquet room for private parties. It's a nice, ambient lit and intimate feeling place, despite its large size. I had the Spicy Crawfish pasta which has creole cream, bacon, mushrooms, spinach and penne. It was very generously portioned and very good. There was so much of it I couldn't finish it all and took the rest home and ate it the next day. Even cold it was good. Our waitress was a little overbearing and came to the table way too much I thought. I think she was trying to be friendly but we were there to have a quiet dinner not a dinner listening to all of her personal stories. Other than that it was a pretty good experience and I would definitely come back if I were ever in the area again.

Another fabulous meal at rocas! Hubby got the shrimp and grits, which he loved! I had filet and they special made the coffee ribeye for john, which was awesome! We drive an hour just to eat here and it is so worth it, every time!

Very pleasant, good food good value, perhaps the best place to dine in Vicksburg. My wife had veal scaloppine, I had shrimp scampi. Both very good. We were a little concerned with the dress code being decried as dressy. It was comfortable casual. If your in Vicksburg this is a two thumbs up restaurant

Located in what appeared to be the clubhouse for the Vicksburg Country Club, Roca was quite possibly the fanciest restaurant I tried in Vicksburg. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit, but the experience was not without issues. The entrance to the restaurant was slightly confusing. I did not see any sign directing me to the proper area and there was a large, loud party going on in one of the rooms. I figured the party was not the restaurant and I was right. Once seated I realized that had it been daytime, there would have been an incredible view out of the restaurant. It appeared to look out on to the golf course, but as it was dark, I couldn't see anything. The next time I visit I may have to give them a try during lunch. Service was somewhat slow and a little too personal. Throughout the meal the server felt the need to relay several personal stories. At first they seemed sweet, but I felt as if they were meant to make me feel sorry for her and possibly give her a better tip. I was really turned off by that tactic. The meal started with the prosciutto and Gouda fritters. This appetizer was recommended by the server who raved about how amazing they were. I thought the fritters were good, but only when coated in the honey mustard dipping sauce. Without the sauce they seemed too dry. My entrée was the ribeye with green peppercorn sauce. My steak was good by itself, but the peppercorn sauce improved the taste significantly. I expected a version of steak au poivre when I ordered this dish and that is what I got. I definitely recommend this entrée. Roca did have a full wine list and a decent beer selection including several Mississippi craft brews. After dinner I had an interesting experience at the bar. Apparently the loud party I noticed when I had arrived was a class reunion. Several of the guests had relocated to the bar area and had fun trying to guess who I was. Apparently they assumed I was part of their group. I did thoroughly enjoy my experience at Roca. The server was somewhat frustrating, but other than that, I did have a wonderful time. If you are in Vicksburg and want a white tablecloth dining experience, head to Roca. It may be one of your only choices, but luckily it's a good one.

We dropped by for a nice dinner before we were due to leave town, and though my expectations were low I was pleasantly surprised! The bread at the table is served with a molasses and maple syrup + butter, along with flatbread and delicious, fluffy white bread. I had the spicy crawfish pasta and it was AMAZING. Totally recommend it!! Our waitress was very personable and friendly. My only complaint would be the pizza, which takes up a decent portion of the menu, wasn't very appetizing.

For a town its size, Vicksburg has a number of hidden restaurant gems. This one is my new favorite. Service was sophisticated, great wine and cocktail options and the food was fantastic and well presented.

Good wine list, excellent salads for lunch and a very good Fillet, but not quite on par with that of Cafe Anchuca. Atmosphere is dressy, sometimes featuring live piano in the bar area. As one of the nicest restaurants in town, definitely make reservations for more than two.

I was here for business and ate here one weeknight with a large group. The food is really excellent, probably the best I've eaten in Vicksburg. I started with a spinach salad. I was kinda confused at first because it didn't seem to have any dressing on it, but upon tasting it I could tell it had been subtly dressed. Kudos to the chef on that. I like when a chef doesn't serve dressing on the side and instead does it themself. Frankly, I trust the chef's opinion on what the food needs more than the average diner. For my main course I had an angus fillet with the cabernet shallot compound butter. The steak was perfectly cooked which I feel like never happens for me. I really liked the compund butter too, my only complaint was that I wish there was more of it! The buttermilk mashed potatoes were super yummy as well and the side of vegetables were well cooked. Our server was attentive, almost overly so. But I hate to complain about overly attentive service; I know she was trying hard to make all of us happy. My only complaint about the whole experience was the decor - it was kinda cave-like. Some more lighting would help; the space just seemed really large. Overall though, a great experience, great food, and I can't wait to go back again soon.

Good service, well run place. I have been here four or five times in the last two months and the service and food were very good each time. I have to recommend the steak. Best steak I ate in 2012. And the pizzas are good. And they have good fish dishes as well. Wife and I shared a creme brulee which was excellent after a big meal. There is no dress code though the atmosphere makes me consider wearing slacks (I am a guy) when I go there. I wouldn't go without a collared shirt.

Roca, is a very nice dining experience. Jay, the owner/chef really is good at making your mouth water over his delicious entrees and specials. Roca's is located in the Vicksburg Country Club and with the New York style makeover, it's the coolest place and the food is extraordinary! Do ask for Sam at the bar, he is the perfect bartender and gives exceptional service. In fact, I prefer to eat in the bar area. Sunday brunch is fabulous! Stop by and enjoy fine dining and say hello to Jay and Sam, you won't be disappointed... KAT

One of the top restaurants in Vicksburg. If you are in town and are looking for a great atmosphere and premium meal then this is a great option. Good bar area. Not meant to be the main attraction but if there is a wait it is a great place to enjoy a drink to pass the time. Good wine selection. Price range is on the higher end for Vicksburg. The specials and signature dishes are worth it.

The food was great!! However I expected much more for ambiance. The place is dull and kind of unfinished looking. It has an open kitchen and you can see unorganized racks and foiled equipment that hides dirt. The pizza oven doesn't look like a pizza oven. They should just block it off so nobody can see it.
