As far as what this is going for being a hibachi grill it is awesome and you can even opt to side at a table if you like. My brother and I had a great exprience and the kids beside us did as well, because the chef made them laugh. We got the filet mignon and chicken option on the hibachi grill and it was amazing to include a sushi and California roll too. It all was 33.00 plus a tip and wasn't a bad price for the meal. I loved the steak, but the I wish I would have gotten the chicken because it had a lot of good flavor. Overall good service and good food and pretty much good as it gets when coming to a Japanese steakhouse, and also the decor was very nice and classy with a bridge with water in the entrance.

The two stars is for the food and the food only. The service was absolutely horrible. We came at lunch time. No one greeted us. One little girl was waiting tables and took our drink order then waited another fifteen minutes to get our food order. My food came out in about ten minutes but my moms food didn't come out for another forty five minutes. I had completely finished my meal for twenty or so minutes before her food was ready. The server didn't seem to care and seemed preoccupied with the one other table in the restaurant that had customers. The sushi was good but the service was so bad I dont think I'll be back. I can find good sushi at many places

Food is absolute CRAP!!! Came to Tupelo for the weekend to spend time with my husband who is working here right now. Had been craving sushi so we found this place. No menu to be found ANYWHERE online. Should've been my first sign. We ordered as close to what we normally order everywhere else for takeout. Got back to our hotel to find the food absolutely horrendous. Sushi was falling apart. Soy sauce containers can't even fit the sushi pieces in it when they are together, let alone in multiple pieces. Got friend rice and it was like eating paper. Has absolutely no flavor at all. Completely terrible food!!!! Do not bother!!!

I've been passing this place every time I come to Tupelo. I wish I would have never stopped here. The food was okay, but their presentation was terrible. I ordered tuna and salmon sashimi. I have eaten sashimi all of the country, and these are the smallest pieces of fish I have ever seen. Two of them would make one piece at my normal restaurant in Atlanta. I am sure it is hard to make a living selling sushi into Tupelo, but it will be even harder since I will never be back. It was 8 o'clock and the server was chomping at the bit to leave. She never asked me if I was enjoying my food. I would have ordered more but she never asked that either. I am leaving this place hungry and disappointed. Maybe some of their other menu items are better, but I would never recommend eating sushi or sashimi here! The only reason I'm giving it one stars is because the fish was fresh. Too bad they had to get greedy with the portion size.

This is my third time here... I have asked to have special veggie roll and they were very nice and compliant to it. However the service in general could use some speed. My fourth time the rolls were not so good. They have changed the servers, but the speed continues to be lacking. Once in town will try a different one next time.

Great authentic Asian appetizers that you will not likely see anywhere else in this area. I've had a bit of the sushi which has always been very good. My preference is for the hibachi - the crew are lots of fun and put on a good show. Food has always been top quality. Service has dipped a bit in the past year. Always friendly, but they are slow and seem a bit distracted. But you'll get no complaints about the food.

The good: They offer some yummy authentic Asian appetizers that are not offered at other Japanese restaurants at Tupelo. The jellyfish salad was among the best I've had anywhere. Real nice spicy flavor. The baby octopus, conch salad, and beef sashimi were all quite good. The bad: If the rice is your favorite part of a hand roll, then you're in luck. Because each roll is chock full of it. Unfortunately, I happen to like fish more than rice. The ugly: The size of the sashimi was absolutely unacceptable. Each piece (3 pieces for $4.50) is less than half the size of a sugar packet. (I've posted a picture on the review .) I don't know if they ran out of fish this night and they're trying to ration portions to fill the orders but this is by far the smallest portion of sashimi at any restaurant. I did not have the hibachi so this review is based only on the sushi and appetizers. One star for the sushi and 4 for the appetizers. All the other reviews here were written in 3 years ago and it appears complacency has set in. And with two other restaurants in Tupelo that serve quality sushi there is no reason to eat subpar sushi here.

Been in twice, waited about 10 minutes and didn't receive any service so I left without any acknowledgement from any staff member. Won't be back.

My wife and I always love coming here. Great hibachi style Japanese restaurant. My wife and I usually get sushi when it's just us, but when we come in groups, you can't beat the hibachi show. Very fun atmosphere, but like a previous reviewer said, the service is hit and miss. I guess it depends on if you get an American server - they tend to be more prominent for their tables. Surf and Turf and the Curly Sue are probably my favorite sushi rolls here. You won't be disappointed.

I'm disappointed in this place. I expected so much more. I'm especially saddened that with its opening, my favorite sushi place (Peking, which served both Chinese and Japanese food) closed and I was so hoping that Kyoto could be my replacement. Sadly, it can't fill those shoes.Much of the fish in the sushi is ground up so you really lose the texture and can't really tell if it was good quality before they ground it into a paste or not. The roll I ordered actually had green leaf lettuce wrapped around it instead of nori. The miso soup tasted a bit like dried soup mix and the fried rice was bland. Not for people who really know and like sushi as it's meant to be eaten. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not exactly a purist, but if you're going to experiment at least make it better, not worse. Also it should taste good.

You know what, for a sushi place in Tupelo, MS this is a pretty quality place. Honestly, it's probably as good of sushi as you can get in the middle of the country. Once you hit the coast it's a different story but for here, I've liked it every time and the prices are pretty good. If you find yourself looking for sushi in Tupelo, definately go here over Shogun (which is #2) and Ichiban (which is a distant #3)

This place was 5/5 great when it opened and it seems like over time they've grown complacent...I mean, the service has tanked and cleanliness isn't top priority but one thing for sho....the food is still really good....so I keep visiting
