My family has been going to Bonanza since I was a young girl. I've never eaten anything that wasn't good. I order a sirloin every time & have never had an issue. The salad bar is wonderful! The vegetable bar is always fresh & hot! We have never had a bad waitress either! One of my favorite places to eat in Tupelo!

Ditto to what other people are saying about appealing to the older southern crowd. For me, I went (for the first time) because it was a buffet which meant I had more choices just in case I didn't like some of the food. And I was starving. The hot food was okay. Go with the safe things like chicken wings, mashed potatoes and gravy, and corn or green beans(which you should probably season at your table). Those corn muffin looking things? Don't get them. They're weird and spongy and taste faintly of seafood... The cabbage and ham vegetable side was also disappointing, while the pork and beans just plain scared me. And what is up with the vegetable medley inside an egg roll wrapper? I'm not familiar with that whatsoever, nor would I like to be. On another note, I really liked the salad bar, even though they only had iceberg for lettuce. I'd say that the salad bar was the highlight. I wish they had better options in terms of dessert (chocolate chip cookies, anyone?) But they left me with jello, banana pudding flavored cool whip, and marshmallowy rice crispies bars. Oh, and their bathroom was pretty bad.

this place has been here for about a hundred years. It's consistent. I've never had anything not good that I ordered. My only complaint is there is never any real meat on the Buffett. It's all buffalo wings. For me that's more work than pay off. But the veggies are always good and they know how to cook a steak.

Southern style steakhouse. I've never been quite sure what to think of the place. The food is decent, but it feels like it is trying desperately to appeal to an older, "southern" crowd (and it mostly succeeds). The potential for a "southern kitchen" atmosphere is stifled by the cues it takes from chain buffets like "Ryan's" and "Golden Corral." You order at the front line, and you can either order from the posted menu, or eat the buffet. I rarely enjoy being dragged here, but the quality that you get for the price is decent. A decent venue for large family gatherings, particularly when the older members of your party are the sort to desire a place that seems familiar. Although, I may be in the minority of locals for not liking such an atmosphere.

Nice restaurant with good food! Salad bar is my favorite part. Does appeal to the older crowd but the prices are what will bring you in. Try it out!
