I really enjoyed almost every element of the Main Street Inn. For a visit to Parkville, I'd definitely recommend this place if you're a fan of B&B's. First off, we were greeted by Kathy when we arrived. She showed us around the inn, told us what time breakfast was and when bread would arrive. She gave us a run down of a couple of local spots and then left us in our very nice room. The room (The Col Parks Suite) was lovely. There were tasty sugar cookies on our bed, delicious smelling Zum bath products (including bath salts for the whirlpool tub), and soft robes to use in the closet. I liked the look of the room and the bed was comfy and the bathtub was amazing. I will say that the tv is very tiny and out--of-date, but we weren't there for the tv so that didn't bother me. Outside of the room, there was a guest lounge with a mini-fridge, a coffee maker, sodas and a few snacks. At 7:30am, we were given tasty cinnamon muffins and tea right at our door which we really enjoyed. Then at 8:30, we headed downstairs for breakfast... Sadly, this part is why I am not giving the inn a 5 star rating. So, breakfast takes place at one large dining room table at one time. This means you're sitting with the other guests of the inn and being served the same food. It's not a 'spread' or anything like that. It's two (mystery) courses pre-selected by the host. The group of four guests that was with eating with us were not the most easy to dine with, to put it kindly... Also, both my husband and I have certain foods we can't eat or choose not to eat much of and this didn't help things either. While the fruit was nice, the french toast bake was too rich for me and had strawberries in it that my husband can't eat. In retrospect, I should have informed our host of these things but, between the two of us, our list of foods that we can't have would be a novel. I'd have much preferred a small spread with choices like packaged oatmeal, cereal, hard-boiled eggs, bagels, etc. Things along the typical kinds of breakfast fair. Mostly though I would think it would be nice to have small tables for people to eat alone at and not have to mingle at breakfast with strangers. Or maybe bring the breakfast comes to your door like with the muffins? Anyway, overall, we had a very lovely and enjoyable time at the Mainstreet Inn. If you're going to be in the area and would like a nice, cozy place to stay, check it out. The house is nice and the whirlpool tubs earn a huge A+ from me. Kathy was also a very kind hostess. Parkville is a beautiful and historic place to visit and this establishment fits in nicely.

Our stay here was fantastic...I only wish it could have been longer. The Main Street Inn was so welcoming. We checked in to our room and after a long days drive, we loved being able to just walk down the street to Stone Canyon Pizza for dinner. Kathy and Jason have certainly added all the right touches to make their guests feel right at home. We stayed in Col Park's room and it was picture perfect! Hot biscuits with homemade Lemon Honey Jelly and steaming coffee was delivered promptly to our room at 7:30am and a fabulous breakfast was ready at 8:30! We enjoyed chatting with Kathy and listening to a bit of history about the house! We definitely hope to return to Parkville and the Main Street Inn someday!
