Deli Double Catering

Deli Double catered for our Chicago volleyball team last weekend when in town for a tournament. The restaurant of the hotel we stayed in was under renovation and it would have been difficult to get reservations for 12 without a long wait. Deli Double did an amazing job with two breakfasts and two lunches. The girls loved the food and the healthy choices!! David and Leesa were extremely helpful!! We really lucked out finding Deli Double!!! They are A+++

Reviews:
Let me start by saying I have never once written a Yelp review. I love using Yelp to discover new places and have been relying on it heavily since moving to this area. That said, I feel 100% misled from the positive reviews for this place. There are even reviews on OTHER RESTAURANTS' profiles saying, "this is alright, but Nacho's is my first choice." How could I go wrong by trying this place out? WAY WRONG! What restaurant did you Yelpers dine at because surely it wasn't this one! My husband and I had a truly disappointing experience! For starters (because I did my research on Yelp), I knew going in that there wouldn't be much of an atmosphere. Fine - that doesn't usually deter me. My theory is that if the dining area offers little or nothing to the experience, surely the food is GREAT and that's what keeps people coming back. Nope, not the case here. It took approx. 25 minutes to get our meal, maybe longer but I don't want to exaggerate. Mind you, this is with probably 70% of the seating area EMPTY and one person waiting for a to-go order. Twenty-five minutes for QUESADILLAS that I could have made at home myself in five. Our chips and queso did not come to the table until 2 min. before our entrees. The queso was nothing more than YELLOW nacho cheese, no better than you would get at a baseball game. The chips were super thick and stale tasting. Our quesadillas (he ordered steak and I had chicken) were just about as flat as a pancake. Very little substance and hardly any protein whatsoever. It honestly reminded me of something you would order off the kids menu at a chain restaurant. For anyone that's thinking "oh boy, another silly girl with unrealistic, 'Americanized' taste in Mexican food" - that's not what this is about at all. I've had delicious, authentic food IN Mexico and the food at Nacho's pales in comparison, even to other American establishments. I look forward to trying some of the other highly rated places in the area and will forever be wary of my fellow Yelpers praising a place simply because it's a 'hole in the wall.' I cannot for the life of me understand how anyone could speak highly of this place for any other reason! Truly baffling.
I came in for an early lunch and found, finally, Mexican food I can recognize and appreciate in Minnesota. I got a asada taco and a pollo sope and both were delicious with fresh toppings. The pollo was simmered in a delicious red sauce so it wasn't just dry shredded chicken. The taco was street style and while the steak was a little fattier than I would like, was still tasty and cooked well, with fresh onions and cilantro. Both came on a plate (they're ordered à la carte) sprinkled with cotija cheese and a side of slightly spicy tomatillo salsa. I also had a glass-bottled Coke (from Mexico with real cane sugar!). Great lunch for just over $8. I can see becoming a regular here.
Well done made from scratch food at reasonable prices.

Awesome hole in the wall. Clean, simple, fresh and always delicious. Order at the counter. Menu on the wall with pictures. I've tried most items on the menu but keep coming back to the carnitas torta. the bread is the perfect combo of crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. Tasty cubes of roast pork, avocado, sour cream, onion, tomato, jalapeños and lettuce. Truly a perfect sandwich. Great fries too.
What this place lacks in decor in makes up 10 fold in food. The food was do fresh and delicious. If your s local you must support this place.
Delicious food and nice people! Loved their tamale a and enchiladas salsa verde. Fresh and authentic, no chain restaraunt stale boring food at Nachos.

No Drive Through, lazy Princess needs a Drive Through, otherwise stopping in makes one Impulse Face Stuff on Frosty Creamy,Magical, Goodness. No Grilled Goodies either, so no Veg Quesadilla.Being forced to stick to frozen YUM, sometimes seems like a hardship. After all, I hail from Edinaland where we have full luxury service DQ. You'd think I'd traveled far to Hopkinsland & Minnetonkaland.Poor Bratty me, have to walk up & get my Butterscotch Dipped Cone, that bit of exercise does not help, considering what Sin of Indulgence I am committing anyway. Note to self: Audience with the Queen about the Drive Through Problem. All Hail The Queen of Dairyland,Long Live the Queen. A proper Courtsy,Applause, followed by a moment of Silence, & then the customary BURP!!! 2.5 out of 5 Tiara's, only because I have to get out of my Chariot & walk in for my Butterscotch Dip
This Dairy Queen is quaint; this isn't a place to have a birthday party or a family reunion (as it is a small place), but it does the job of getting ice cream on a nice day! The employee I encountered today (a nice girl in high school) was an absolute doll. She was polite, well mannered, and extremely friendly (if I was her parents, I would be oh so proud). The ice cream was as good as always and the butterscotch shell was delicious as well (hand dipped I might add). I found out while talking to her, that this location still makes their dilly bars by hand, as well as some of their other treats (I find that pretty neat). Will I be back? Um, duh.
Great DQ and let's just say it's nostalgic in its decor. You can stop in and get your quick blizzard fix! In the summer DQ is a frequent stop! This DQ is always consistent! Plus they still make some product on site. Love a dilly bar! It's also where a young man "Joey" stepped up and did the right thing. It takes guts to stand up for someone! Good for you and you deserve the spot light! Your parents raised you well! startribune.com/.../2244… Sep 19, 2013 - In this screen grab provided by WCCO TV is Dairy Queen employee Joey Prusak in Hopkins, Minn.

Love Hoagies. This is our go-to breakfast restaurant. The food is excellent and you can't beat the prices. Service is always friendly and welcoming.
Small town diner, excellent service and awesome food. I've had breakfast and lunch there and the portions are great and everything is homemade. If you have lunch, get the homemade french fries! The prices are unbeatable. Check it out if you're in Hopkins. The place could use a face lift in terms of decor on the inside, perhaps that will happen once construction in the area is complete.
This is an awesome place to go for that small town diner kinda feel. Friendly staff and great food!

I go to the school down the street and almost everyday I come down to this coffee shop the chai is amazing and so are the muffins I love this place do much it is amazing!
Munkabean's space is warm and inviting. It is not designed like the sterile corporate coffeehouses like caribou or Starbucks. The chairs and tables looks like they bought them from a 70's garage sale. The artwork is a mish mash of paintings and photographs. Ideal place for catching up with old friends or hanging out with the kids. There us a play area for kids in the back. They supply toys, games and a whimsical crayon set each shaped like a small log houses in a wooden basket. Great local coffee house situated next to Hopkins movie theatre, VFW and Hopkin's center for the Arts. Oh yeah...the coffee is good. I didn't get a chance to sample the sandwiches.
Popped in here during the Hopkins Raspberry Festival for a blended mocha (Munkachino? Something like that - it's not on their online menu). It was delicious with a distinct espresso flavour that isn't present in a certain chain store's blended drinks. The price was a little steep but I mostly popped in to use their restroom and I like supporting local business so it was worth it - I couldn't afford to be a frequent customer, though. The interior is really cute and homey. They also serve ice cream.

Wow!! Is all I can say. My coworkers and I bought burgers from the Hopkins location for lunch today. This was my first time ever tasting their food. The Burgers and fries were amazing! We talked about how great the food was all day long. The rest of the office kept trickling into our cubicle asking where the yummy smell was from!! Kudos!
Had a previous not so good experience with a Gyro via Foodsby. Tried again to today... WOW! What a great Gyro! Meat was moist, flavorful, tender; really great! The tzatziki sauce was fantastic. After the previous experience the manager assured me they can do a great Gyro and he didn't lie! WOW!
Seriously the best Philly cheese steak I have ever had! We will definitely be going back again

Five Guys Burgers and Fries

525 Blake Rd N
Hopkins, 55343
Reviews:
Five Guys is great, but this location needs to work on their fries. Every other place I've gone to, they give you a ton of them. My fiancée and I could easily split a "regular" order. The Dinkytown location, especially, you get, like, an absurd amount. Here, though, they don't go as nuts. I have to order a "large" and even then, we split the fries up and say "is that it?" Maybe this one is doing the "right" amount, but compared to the other ones that I've been to, it feels like they're being stingy. At the same time, though, their fries aren't even that good. They've always been mushy and undercooked here. Now I like my fries extra crispy, and that's just not how Five Guys does things, but they're usually still tasty. Here, though, they usually taste like raw potato, and the bottom third of the cup is a mush of squished together fries. Again, this isn't a problem at other locations. I love that they opened a block away from my apartment, and everything else is great. I especially like the fancy soda fountain. Just get an expert fryer from Dinkytown or Edina to show them how to cook and portion the fries, and they'll be perfect.
Great burgers as usual, but this location barely filled the fry cup up. Usually we get regular fry not large due to too many fries, but not this location.
My sister and I stopped by this 5 Guys for the first time last Friday. The food was excellent and hit the mark set by the other locations in the cities. The shift Manager provided outstanding and friendly service. He even came out to the patio to make sure we were having a good time and didn't need anything else.

Erbert & Gerbert’s Subs & Clubs

740 Main St
Hopkins, 55343
Reviews:
I was in Hopkins tonight, not familiar with the area...so a bit disgruntled. Kinda hungry too, since it was around "dinner time" when this cute sandwich shop's sign caught my eye. Erbert and Gerbert? Hmm, another sub sandwich shop? I've actually not heard of Erbert and Gerbert before, but it looked similar to Jimmie John's ( my favorite sub sandwich shop ...I'm not a Subway or Blimpie fan). I ordered it to go. The service (the cash register guy who took my order, and the gal who made the sandwich) was pleasant and friendly. When I got home and unwrapped my sandwich I was surprised! There was a strip of torn bread on top of my sub- and it was delicious! A fresh strip of tender, moist bread. The bread I understand is fresh french bread baked at the store. Oh, and the "guts", the meat, cheese, veggies, the sauce on my sandwich was deliciouso, too! Wow, I'm glad I was in Hopkins tonight ...and will be on a lookout for more Erbert and Gerbert's in the future.
Terrible...I love Erbs & Gerbs food, but unfortunately I will never go there again because of how ridiculously rude their staff are. I called for a delivery order and when I gave my address I heard the guy taking my order ask someone something in the background and they said "no" and then they hung up the phone. I had given the guy my number so I thought he would call back but he didn't. I called back and told him what happened and he said "well we don't deliver to your area". I told him we live like 1.5 miles away and have had delivery from them before. He said it's up to the delivery driver and was rude and argumentative with me. Never going back there.
Excellent service and subs that are awesome! Last time I went here, I was greeted quickly and the store manager helped me pick out a sandwich. Great job!!
