This is the best family style diner in the area, period. The atmosphere here is exactly what i'm looking for; big booths, bright windows and nothing looks like a dated 'Clock' restaurant. The food here is great and the menu is expansive, as a place like this should be. Don't be afraid of bringing a picky eater here, they have it all and don't mind custom orders. This is one of my Fish and Chips stops. I have many, but I come here time and again for the wonder fluffy Cod and crispy, hot fries. The Reuben is good too and if you have the option of soup or salad, get one of the soups and thank me later. Staff is lovely and attentive to a fault, never a dry coffee cup in the house. In fact, they bring you your own pot! I've been coming here since it opened and my only hope is that it stays open forever.

We went here for breakfast, and my opinion is relatively optimistic.. Although pancakes are rubbery and not as cakey as I'd prefer, they have an incredible spread of breakfast meats that come standard with their breakfast special... Bacon, sausage links, AND ham !?!!?.. absolutely!!... hash browns were ok, coffee was ok... I think this places is good enough to enjoy, but not necessarily for me to go out of my way to go there. Overall the ambience is comfortable and pleasant, 3 stars is what I give it =)

Excellent staff! Excellent home style cooking with care for sure. The gyros are great and the chicken Greek salad is amazing with their beet dressing. Highly recommend this establishment.

Love, love, LOVE Savory Grill! My family and I have gone there dozens of times over the years and have never had a bad experience. The food is always good. The staff is always friendly. The place is always clean. In my opinion...best family restaurant in the area, hands down!

This restaurant needs to be inspected!! I found a cockroach in my food! When I complained to management they tried hiding it ever happened and still charged me for my food! I was appalled! They offered to make me a new dish but for obvious reasons I declined.

After reading all the stellar reviews by many Yelp regulars, I knew that I just had to try a meal here. I was headed across Hall Road on my way to a movie house, but I didn't want to fill up on popcorn for supper (even tho I topped it off with theater popcorn later). Using Yelp's Ron C. from Rochester as my guide, I found his review for Savory Grill, just two blocks north of Hall road on the east side of Van Dyke. As I pulled into their driveway, I saw 3 cars leaving - and we all know what that means when lots of people are leaving - either the food was bad, or they were simply done with their meal. I guess since the parking lot was nearly full at 5:30 in the afternoon on a weekday, I should have just been glad that some parking spaces opened up. Once inside, the sign said a hostess will seat me, so I looked over the daily specials white board set up just inside the entrance way. There were several selections listed, as well as the soups of the day. Usually, when they have a specials board, I don't even need a menu. This visit was no different - I selected the hot beef sandwich with a side salad and home made mashed potatoes. My salad had bleu cheese dressing on the side, the mashed potatoes shared gravy from the sandwich, my drink came in a tall glass and didn't need a refill, especially since a tall glass of water was also provided. A great meal from a local diner. Sorry, no pictures - it was so good, you would have just seen empty plates by the time I took a pause in my meal. Service was great. There were several wait staff taking care of tables, as well as a busboy clearing plates. Timing was great. I was seated in the main dining area, a room lined with booth seating. There was also another area off to the side that had additional seating, with a mixture of booths and tables. As I sat during my meal, I thought perhaps a senior's bus had stopped by, because of all the little old men and women coming in with assistance, and headed to that overflow room. No, it was just that the older folks in the area know where the good food for a good price at a great restaurant can be found. Sure enough, I peeked into the side room, there they were, all sitting together at a communal table, friends together sharing an evening meal. I had an opportunity to visit the men's room. As with the rest of the business, it was impeccably clean, able to meet the highest standards of clean & fresh. I paid my bill and walked out, knowing I was just opening up a parking space for the next hungry patron looking for a good meal in downtown Utica.

Clean, great service, food is well prepared and delicious. The staff go over the top on making your dining experience perfect. Great parking and the old world attention to detail on the design inside and out are very classy. Great breakfast and lunch specials and all made fresh daily. Give this place a try and enjoy the suburb meal.

Have often wanted to try this place, as it looks inviting. Well last Thursday a yelp pal, suggested a meet & greet here. First impressions are priceless , the place is SUPER DUPER CLEAN! And comfortable! We walked in after the breakfast rush around 9am, were promptly served & its one of those places that leaves the pot of coffee with you at the table. I ordered the 2 egg, 3 strips of bacon, three sausages , three pieces of ham & Hash browns + english muffin $6.95 Loved everything , but the HAM & Hash Browns stole the show. The hash browns actually reminded me of the Waffle House Hash Browns prepared perfectly, with slivers of grilled onions & green peppers The ham..oh boy the ham, it was not some coney island ham, it was like an Aunts Easter ham , lean smokey & tender! So much food, that I boxed half of it for lunch later, and the ham & sausage traveled well. Cannot wait to go back!

I stopped in for a quick lunch and ordered the chicken club wrap deluxe with fries and they weren't your average restaurant fries they were awesome, the pita was the best chicken wrap I have ate in some time I can't wait to order it again and the coleslaw was great as well and I'm picky when it comes to coleslaw! What was really good and what made me want to give the 5 stars was the service was just Perfect, I'll be back!

The food here is always good. I always order pasta when I go out and this pasta comes in second only to olive garden. The staff is very nice and patient (I have 2 toddlers) and my family is a regular here. Great food, great service, great prices. Definitely can't go wrong here.

I'll start off by saying that all restaurants have strengths and weaknesses, and apparently I must have ordered some of their weak points. I ordered 2 eggs, bacon, and blueberry pancakes, and my friend got sausage, bacon, ham, hashbrowns with grilled onions and peppers, and toast. The eggs weren't cooked to order (I ordered over medium and ended up with a whole lot of runny egg white cruising around my plate). The bacon was pretty good, and they cooked it crispy like I like it. The pancakes....were terrible. I felt like they served me rubber discs with some hint at blueberry flavor in them. They were tough, flavorless, and couldn't even be saved with a healthy dose of syrup. :-/ My friend was pleased with all of the meats, and the toast was awesome. The hashbrowns were crispy on the outside, but a bit too mushy on the inside. The grilled onions and peppers were a tasty addition though. Overall this place was alright, but there's a few other places in the area I'd rather go to.

Staff = A+ Atmosphere = A+ Promptness = A+ *Food = B- *( we found several bones in the fish, and the pasta seemed like it was frozen and heated up, though it was still good just not authentic. Chicken noodle soup was good.)

This place is a gem. The menu is similar to most of the "country diners" in the metro area but they knock the rest out of the water. My mom has been coming here for years but only regularly did hubby and I start stopping by. I'd go out on a limb and say they have some of the best fish and chips I've ever had. Their fries are literally perfection; crispy on the outside and gooey deliciousness inside. The fish is perfectly battered and nice quality. My husband loves the coleslaw especially. Prices are great, portions are more than adequate and it just feels like a nice, family run restaurant. We stopped by last Friday for lunch and the parking lot was full! Outside of chain restaurants near tech or industrial areas, how often do you see that on a weekday? That alone goes to show that this place is popular and for a good reason. I'll add, too, that though it was packed, we were seated immediately! The have a nice little sun room (looks like an addition) and I actually pointed out to my husband that the windows were spotless - not a speck of dust! They definitely take pride in their restaurant and it shows. My only complaint, which I mention because it seems the GM keeps a close eye on reviews, is that the past three times I've ordered soup, the crackers were stale. I'm not sure what the shelf life is for a pack of saltines but that has been pretty disappointing. In the scheme of things, a small complaint and more than easily overlooked by the great service and great food.

My boyfriend and I have since frequented the Savory Grill, and have never been anything but overly satisfied. Not only are the burgers great, their Reuben and wraps are delicious. We have yet to try breakfast, but I'm sure it's nothing less than awesome.

Savory is our local grill of choice. It's perfect for simple dinner or breakfast. Sometimes, you don't have to be complicated or over-the-top to enjoy some good comfort food. We go there for the relaxed atmosphere, the gracious servers and the menu variety. I usually go with grilled chicken, gyro's, any of their sandwiches and wraps (I'm a sandwich guy so I like them all.) or breakfast. It's always made the way I like it. P.s. They do have some great ranch dressing. Not sure what it is, but it's good.

Restaurant was clean, our waitress didn't seem very smart. Specials were a little confusing appeared to be cheaper off the regular menu. Food was just average nothing to write home about.

This place has become a regular stop for my wife and I for breakfast on weekends. There aren't a lot of thrills at Savory, but if you want quality food and a good price, this is your place. I am a fan of both the Savory Breakfast (with the country style hash browns) and the Savory Omelet. The service here is always friendly. Never had to wait for our food, drinks, or to pay.

This place was such a pleasant surprise, I can't wait to go back. The service was great, the food was unbelievable. You think it's just another little diner/restaurant, but the food will certainly surprise you. I enjoyed a steak wrap who's quality would be hard to be beat! I can't wait to go back again!

This has been a Sunday morning favorite in my family for years. Usually, it's not too hard to get a table but it definitely gets crowded that time of the week. Prices are fair and the portions are large, in my opinion. Usually, my parents would split an omelette meal and it would be enough (if you're not too voracious). With that strategy in mind, we spend a total of $15 on breakfast (tip included). The waitresses are attentive and do a good job so I try to tip them well.

We stopped here before starting our shopping errand extravaganza one Saturday morning. The breakfast menu is very straight forward, not a lot of bells and whistles. I ordered two eggs scrambled with toast and hash-browns. Corned beef hash was not available, or else I would have ordered it with my meal. Dustin got the same thing plus ham. My eggs were very well cooked in my opinion, but just a little heavy on the butter. The hash-browns could have been a bit crispier. The ham was heated through with a bit of crisp, a nice salty treat with the creamy eggs. It was not too crowded, we were able to sit right away, and the staff was very quick. The only thing was that our waters sat empty, but I am being picky since technically it was after the meal had been finished.

Nothing fancy at all. I live close by and drive past it to go to other way better places. I think I can cook better food at home than what they serve.

Really good place for Breakfast on a Sunday morning. The entire restaurant is no smoking Sunday mornings. Large 3-egg omelets are very good. Lots of choice available to suite most omelet cravings. Hash browns contain a mix of diced green pepper and onions for a unique flavor. I can also recommend their Belgian Waffles which are crispy golden brown on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside. Fresh Blueberry's was a treat early in March. Bacon is thick as I like it.
