I've been driving by, anticipating the opening of this place, which had a soft opening this week. Complete menu Breakfast -Lunch -Dinner, but today was a shot at Breakfast. First of all they truly transformed the former sushi place into a nice breakfast nook, plenty of booths /tables, and seating arrangements to fit your family or work group. I had never ordered a blintz until today, and what an upgrade over a crepe, ordered the black cherry blintz , with whip cream & powdered sugar, which came with two loaded blintze's each about 8 inches long, jammed with cream cheese. $6.25 My bride ordered a 5 egg Ham /Swiss omelet which came with hash-browns & 2 large pancakes $5.75 I don't usually comment on coffee, as I'm not an expert..and coffee is pretty hit or miss..however the coffee alone warrants another visit or two..it is that good! And reasonable at $1.55 The pot said Superior Brand, but our server said it was Farmers Brand, either way it was very good. Only one thing missing..and they are working on it . .the place is super quiet, as they have no radio or music for background noise.. The menu & quality reminds me of the Original Pantry at 15 & Van Dyke.

This place is the best!!!!! It's a family owned restaurant, so the communication among the staff is always good. We come here for breakfast almost every weekend. And the staff is ALWAYS friendly and ready to help. I've had almost everything on their menu and can not find something I don't like . A BIG shout out to Denissa (sorry if it's miss spelled!). She's always quick with anything she does and always has a smile on her face. She is always paying attention to our needs before we even ask! Wow! You don't get that kind of service ANY where else! Thanks Denissa! You are rockstar!! We have never leave the restaurant with empty bellies or a "good bye and thanks for coming" from Denissa and the staff. I Really REALLY recommend this place to anyone who wants a delicious breakfast or lunch. Thank you guys for always taking care of our hunger! :-) see you guys very very soon!!

I came here for pancakes around dinnertime. Eating breakfast for dinner is the perfect way to avoid breakfast crowds! There was hardly anybody in the restaurant. Service was a bit slower, which was fine, and I assumed it meant my food was being prepared fresh. My bacon tasted as if it had been sitting under a warmer since morning - ick. The potato pancakes were hash browns.... how do they not know the difference?! The raspberry crepes were good, though. The prices are very cheap, so they've got that going for them.

Since moving away from The Stuffed Bun we landed a new morning stop here in Shelby at Granmas. I can't get away from the Fritta Skillet. It's spicy, hot, delicious, lots of it and comes with toast or pancakes... Pancakes!!! Did I mention it has Chorizo?! One day i dream of trying their Blintzes and Crepes but I never seem to order anything else:). The staff is great they keep the coffee rolling and take good care of you. Family run=family great. More peaceful than an IHOP and has good options on the menu. Give it a try. Just across the road from Joe Dumars Fieldhouse. This is my place to eat good, recharge my batteries and watch my kids never finish their pancakes.

After reading the other reviews i am very disappointed. The coffee was awful, the bacon was dry and almost burnt, and the eggs were hard and rubbery. I have no idea why anyone would come here and i will not be back.

Lunch was a horror. Spinach pie had to have been reheated since the inside was mush but the phyllo dough was tough. I understand why it came with a sedated steak knife. My side dish of rice came with a surprise. It was topped with an abundance of stewed tomatoes. Even the bill had a mistake. This was a special, reduced a small amount from the menu, but I was charged the menu price.

Worst restaurant in the area! Slow service and terrible waffles! I will never return. The waffles were hard and flavorless. Our waitress never came back to check on us. Very disappointed and definitely not returning... Ever!

Yummy food! Nice staff! Efficient service, the one girl did question my great uncles choice of food though when he ordered salsa with his waffles. WEIRD! I know and my whole family thought his choice of food was odd, but who are we to judge what he likes if he wants it give it to him. I mean the man is 80 yrs old and a Korean war veteran he deserves what he wants. That is why I am rating with only 4 out of 5. Clean Moderately Busy Average Prices for Specials but be careful a deluxe is 6.50 plus pop is close to $9 YUMMY

Great place. I suggest getting the Swedish extravaganza with lingon(sp) berries and whip cream/powered sugar! I get it almost every time I go there. They have another location, but it's not in a good area. Really glad they opened one on this side of town much nicer area. I hope they do well. It's a family run business so I always hope for the best for them :)

Food was great but when order 2 eggs means 2 of each so you get 4 eggs also lots of hash brown and the side pancakes are huge. You can customize your omelette which is great. Staff is super friendly and restaurant is clean. Prices are good the only draw back is they tend to under cook the eggs but the waitress fixed the problem promptly. Over all great for breakfast.

Consistently good food with great service. That's why I gave this place 4 stars. I could have taken away 1 star due to an undesirable inedible element in one of my meals, but the owner quickly apologized and replaced my meal with a full explanation of what happened (even though the replacement was enough). My family and I love coming here at least 2 or 3 times a month to enjoy the great specials they have such as baked spaghetti, spinach pie, cabbage soup, and others. You can't go wrong ordering anything here.

This is a brand new restaurant that just opened in its current location (Mound/W. Utica). The prices are very reasonable and the portions are very hearty. We ordered the Denver omelette, the skillet with ham/mushrooms and an order of cheese blintzes. My boyfriend enjoyed the omelette, however, the hash browns you get are more likened to a soggy blob of frozen potatoes. I enjoyed my skillet, however, I ordered over easy eggs and they were undercooked. The blintzes were delightful! The coffee was good, but weak (you could see though the pot). Its also very loud. We tested it and on a Sunday morning at 11am, it came in at 73 dbs. I think the worst part were the little food particle floaties in the bottoms of our water glasses. Gross!! All in all, worth a shot...but don't expect this to be anything more than just another pop up diner.

Absolutely the BEST crepes in the area......strawberry crepes are loaded with fresh strawberries and delicious! And their Burgers are wonderful too!! We haven't had a bad dish yet there. The Shelby Twp. location is big, roomy, clean, and welcoming. It is family owned and run and they are very friendly!! Support your local mom & pop restaurants!!!
