This place was my favorite for a long time for mid-eastern fare but it has changed hands a few times and with the change comes change. Its OK now in a pinch. Rice isn't the same and the shawarma is average. Really wish the original owners were still there.

I have been going to Taza for a couple years now and I must say it is one of my all time favorite middle eastern restaurants. I'm not entirely sure what they season their fattoush with, but it is the best I have ever had. As mentioned earlier their chicken shawarma is also amazing. So, it only follows that their fattoush shawarma or tawook is the best of the best. Glad we finally have worthy competition in the downriver area.

We eat in or carryout at least once a week.. The food in fantastic and service is great. I have a gluten intolerance and have never had any problems eating here.

Al Ameer in Dearborn, Cedar Land and the old La Shish can give the a run for their money, but i'm happy we finally have worthy competition in the downriver area.

The chicken shawarma is the best. Prices are a little high, but you get a lot of food for your money. The staff is friendly and prompt. All around very good Mediterranean restaurant.

Typical Middle Eastern Menu including falafel, fattoush, shawarma, hummus, etc. The food and service were both very good. I have no problem recommending this restaurant to others, and I'm sure we'll be back.

My first experience at Taza was not a very good one. After trying the rest of the competition downriver, I find that they are the best in the area. I'd take either of the big two Mediterranean restaurants downtown over Taza ANYDAY, however. I gave them another shot earlier this week and was pleasantly surprised. The chicken shawarma was so big, I almost couldn't finish it. The falafel was delicious as well. Let's put it this way, i've been wanting more since Tuesday. I may have to give into my craving this evening.

This place obviously doesn't hold a candle to La Pita (as no place ever will in my book), but it was a good place to goto in a pinch...once upon a time. Not sure if they have changed owners or management or even cooks, but I feel that they are getting progressively worse as time goes on. I went there today to curb a chicken shawarma craving and was incredibly disappointed. Chicken just seemed grilled...garlic sauce, chicken, and hummus were so salty that I could barely eat it...and my rice was overcooked and almost mushy. My most recent trip to this establishment will be my last as the past few times I've been there, I've been put off my one thing or another. Wahhh.

One of the worst med establishments I've ever been to!! The prices are fair ! The food is nasty !! How do u mess up deboned chicken and the nasty gravy on it yuck !!! And almost every place I have been gives you garlic with your bread , this place gave me a tiny little spoonful ! Had to order a bigger one which was over priced !! And what's up with the rice there ? Gross !!

Highly disappointed. I love love love chicken schwarma with garlic sauce, the only thing I order, and was completely disappointed that the garlic paste was more like Mayo With no garlic. The hummus was runny. Never eating here again.

Had a craving for Middle Eastern food, so I decided to try Taza since I was in the area. The layout of the restaurant is kind of strange - hard to explain, but you'd know what I mean if you walked inside. Hmm...it's just kind of divided (seating), and there's a slot (low in the wall) behind the cash register that opens to the kitchen. It's kind of odd, but that's where they pass the carry outs thru. Again - you'd know what I mean if you've been there. The hostess/cashier/waitress was friendly. The carryout was finished in probably less than 10 minutes. I will say this - while waiting for my order I seen the waitress lick her finger before coming out of the "back room" with a tray full of salads. I was kind of put off by it, but didn't say anything. Besides, she wasn't preparing my food. I don't know...that's behind the scenes stuff that you don't usually see - who knows what really happens anywhere! Either way, just wanted to make note of that. It'd be a 5 star rating had I not seen that. Food was good. Very filling. Pickles, garlic, chicken, and pita! Hard to go wrong with a chicken shawarma! I'd definitely go back, but will only do carryout now. Can't unsee what I've already seen.

Great food options, fair priced, and the owners are super friendly! Very fresh and homemade pita is definitely a highlight. I would highly recommend!

Food was decent this trip. Server was very polite. Place needs some background music so we don't have to hear the staff yelling back and forth about what is taking so long with the food though. We will for sure be back, just hope some things change a little. The bread wasn't as fresh today as times past either.

The best middle eastern food around! The garlic is amazing and the food spectacular! My friend and I had an absolute blast and felt right at home with a very sweet waitress. You will not regret eating here or taking your friends! The carrot cake was to die for!!! Great menu selections! The portion sizes and prices are great! What an amazing experience I will be taking my husband here on a date night. Thank you Taza for such an amazing experience!

Great Mediterranean food, great service, amazing portions. You may have driven past Taza and not even known what it was. It is set in an unassuming strip mall on Dix-Toledo Road and if not for feeling adventurous, we might have not even tried it for the first time. I am glad we did. The menu is large, with explanations of unfamiliar items provided. Selections range from hummus and pita to five course trays that serve 6 - 8. You can get fries instead of rice on most entrees, and there is a kids menu featuring American fare. Not feeling very shwarma-y? They have subs--basic, comfortable and familiar subs. You can get one if you are dragged here by your girlfriend or mother-in-law. The food is fresh fresh fresh! You will be taking some of your dinner entree home with you, because the portion sizes are enormous. The dining room is large, clean, well-lit and has room lor large groups. Try the house-made carrot cake. Seriously.

Best place Downriver for shawarma's, fattoush salads & hummus. Have never been disappointed with anything we've ordered (have tried most of it). Very friendly and helpful staff as well.

Who needs to go to Dearborn when you have Taza? Fantastic Lebanese delicacies with the best service around. I have been coming here since the business opened and have never been disappointed. Highly recommended the shawarma.
