If I could give this place no stars, I would. I have been sick to my stomach since I left from dinner last night... even my husband has been in and out of the restroom this morning. Wait time was nothing, but they sat us all the way in the back in the room I assume is for larger parties, but it was okay. The service was nice, but I've had better. It was annoying that the server would come back and ask us again what we needed because she had forgotten. Things such as refill on drinks shouldn't be questioned in my opinion. She also didn't bring bread to our table until after we had gotten our meal. Our appetizer was the Smoked Mozzarella Fonduta, which is normally our favorite, but this one was hard and stringy, not the smooth and creamy, melt-y cheese we had hoped for. It was also surprisingly spicy, something we haven't other times. It was overall awful, we barely took a few bites. The Zuppe Toscana was runny and not creamy, not sure if that is the proper consistency, but I assumed it was supposed to be creamy? Not a good first experience trying that soup. For dinner we had the endless pasta, which is a rip off because they serve you so much on your first plate you hardly want a second. My pasta was sticky and the 5 cheese sauce made for a clumpy, unappetizing meal, although the chicken fritta was good. You can never go wrong with fried chicken cutlets I guess. My husband liked his cavatappi with mushroom alfredo, so there is nothing to comment on that. Despite an okay dinner I've had much better at the Dearborn OG location. Alas, I am reviewing this with a terrible clenching pain in my stomach and a nauseating feeling that hasn't gone away since my meal last night. I'm still trying to figure out why, but I do know I will be avoiding this place for a long time.

Normally, I would not be someone who would say "OMG Olive Garden is great" but we had a great experience at Olive Garden last night. The service was phenomenal, food was great, and I left extremely full and satisfied. Glad to know this place has improved since I haven't been there in a few years.

My husband and I stopped in for dinner on 6/413. We were seated immediately, but then we waited. And waited. And waited. After 10 minutes or so another couple was seated behind us. They were immediately waited on. We got up and left! We will not be in a hurry to return!

Its an Olive Garden.. Nothing fancy, predictable. I go primarily cause I love the soup.

The soup and salad deal is pretty good as long as your not concerned with the nutritional information. A couple of the fancy tea drinks are good too, otherwise I'm pretty sure the food is mostly just microwaved and sent out. Our waitress gave us a creepy Nosferatau feeling though so we generally stay the hell away now.

Authentic Italian? No. But, Olive Garden is a great chain place, for quick and good Italian food. This location has always given us quick, great service. The staff is friendly, and I have never had a bad meal. Breadsticks are incredible, and the 4-cheese ziti al forno and manicotti are great meals. Parking lot is a pain in the butt to get out of turning left onto Allen, but that is the only downside to this place.

We hadn't been to Olive Garden in a long time since I have celiac disease and I had just found out that they have gluten free pasta availible. I had been wanting pasta and so my husband and daughter joined me. The waitress was attentive and our food was delicious. They have a great kids menu with stickers that keep little ones busy while waiting for the food to arrive also. Great dinner!

Every time I go here that food is just okay. The service is bad and the wait is unbelievable to get service. over the past few years I have seen there chain take a step backwards. If it wasn't for dirt cheap food I don't think I would have every gone

I'm actually a fan of Olive Garden usually. Not this one in particular apparently. I met my daughter here for dinner one evening. The food was typically Olive Garden(ish), which is to say good. However, it took literally 50 minutes for the meal to be served. Other tables around us had seated, eaten, and were gone while we were still waiting. Not sure what the hold up was. The server was nice enough, it just took way too long to get our entrees!

Addictive food and an excellent time at Olive Garden, Southgate Eureka. Downriver has slowly been going down. I feel Detroit is expanding to all surrounding areas, and restaurant's food quality has degraded in most cases with it. But Olive Garden has great food innovation. And don't doubt that for a second. I have been dining in some of the best-kept restaurant's around here, for many years now, and I must say it's quite a venture. Darden, the parent company has many of the country's best, even new restaurants sprouting like mushrooms in a lush valley. And for those of you searching for a culinary experience like no other, look no further than here. The restaurant is located on a rather unassuming street, and it's on a cross street; that's quite easy to miss- in a hurry. However, the restaurant has beautiful landscaping; and the interior will remind visitors of an Italian get a way, Cast Away-esque Tuscan paradise. The decor allows the simplistic beauty of the food to really shine, though beauty isn't the only thing bringing us around. The restaurant is buzzed with excited energy and was comfortably full with seemingly satisfied patrons. Every meal is a three course delight, starting with soup or salad/breadsticks, then entree.. I always get dessert. I love the chicken gnocchi soup. I decided to go with their braised beef tortellini, braised beef with cheese filled tortellini's, accompanied by exquisitely rich, creamy and flavorful sauce. Then for dessert I chose tiramisu; a well balanced piece of cocoa powder covered mascarpone.... the richness of the sinful espresso soaked lady fingers contributed to that very balance. There's no doubt a table at Olive Garden will quickly become the one of hottest reservations in the downriver area.

You know I have to say I was very disappointed this time. It's been a long time since I've been there and I was looking forward to it. That used to be one of my favorite places. I'll start at the beginning. I tried to join the e-club so I could get a coupon it took me forever . the holdup was trying to get my birthday in which was a required field. they needed the year God knows why .it would not allow me to put in the year. I kept trying and trying I finally gave up. Just as we pulled up into the restaurant all of a sudden up popped a coupon for free hors d'oeuvre for joining the club. The waitress had an extremely monotone voice throughout the whole experience which I thought was really weird. It made it boring. You really prefer that the person have a more excited or interested attitude although she did come back often to see to our needs. I showed her the coupon and I said aren't you going to scan it she said no I'll tell the manager about it. Since the dipping sauce for the bread was under the hors d'oeuvres we asked if we could use that for the coupon and she said she would mention it to the manager who didn't come around for a long period of time so I'm not even sure they took the cost of the dipping sauce off the bill. at that point I really didn't care because I was starting to get frustrated. My husband had spaghetti and meatballs and I had chicken parmesan which I had asked for extra sauce which I did not get. And I was supposed to get the second meal to take home for free she asked if I wanted a salad too . I said yes which I did not get. We did ask if we could have the salad that was left over to take home and she said yes but no way did we feel that that should be counted as part of the second meal to take home. Also the mail that you take home I would have preferred to have the same identical meal to take home and I thought the portion was smaller that you take home too. And I liked it when you used to send another hot meal to take home with you. let me refrigerate it. I don't like it when you give me a cold meal to take home . I always loved olive garden salad dressing .I don't know if my taste buds were off but the dressing didn't taste the same. I do buy the olive garden salad dressing at Meijers all the time. I will say the bread sticks with a dipping sauce were excellent. My husband had two beers and I had iced tea which the waitress did frequently ask us if we wanted refills. My total bill came to $50.50 that included the 15% tip. I'm sorry to say Olive Garden I am going to try Carrabba's your competitor because I am very disappointed this time. I'm not going to say I won't be back. I'm just going to try other Italian places and then think about it because I did notice your parking lot was full so maybe you just had an off day yesterday.

It's usually always busy at this location, and some of the wait staff sometimes seem as if they don't like their jobs, but all in all the food is great! It's kind of pricey, but well worth it, some of the best sangria I've ever tasted!

my wife and I went Olive Garden on a friday night, not crazy busy, but not slow either. We had very quick, good service. Jordan was our server. He was one of the best servers we have ever had. He should be running the place. Was very funny, personable and knowledgeable about the menu. We never went without a refill on drinks, and he was quick to get us our food and check on us with good timing. The food was on point this day as well. Anytime we go back, I will be asking for Jordan as the server. Thank You!

We went to Olive Garden in Southgate and the location is great, We had a party of 17 and our servers were two girls but I only could only remember the most amazing server out of the two which was Antonieta. She is efficient, professional, and very courteous. We had a amazing night celebrating a birthday and not once was our table missing one drink, bread stick, or anything with Antonieta around, she is really caring and it is hard to find servers like that theses days, I recommend all my family members and friends to come out to this location where there is friendly managers such as Seth taking care of you, and with greats service like the one we received we will be definitely coming back and asking for Antonieta for sure! Thank you Olive garden for great food and a great experience.

Food was pretty good, the staff was very friendly, but the girl who was wrapping the silverware at 2 o'clock on February 28 dropped one and put it back in the pile. that's like wiping your face with dog poop.

The food was normal Olive Garden quality, tasty and good sized portions. The service, however, left a lot to be desired. Besides the service being slow the waitress didn't bring us breadsticks until after we had finished our main course. She blamed this on waiting for bread to come out of the oven but tables around us were getting bread the entire time. She also did not bring our refills of soup until after our main course was finished. At that point it was a waste since we were to full to eat it. The manager did try to make it right by offering us free deserts.

Friends invited the two of us to dinner here. The waitress was friendly and efficient. The servings were larger than we had expected and we were sorry we had not ordered just one pasta dish to share (between the two of us - we are in our 50s and seem to eat less and less I suppose).

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
