Old Chicago Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

Almost everyone knows OC has quite the beer selection, and also the tour of beers. So beyond that, every time I go I get the italian nachos app. Sausage, pepperoni, banana peppers and cheese over what I think was some form of a pasta nacho, served with marinara dipping sauce. They're addicting. This is one of those places where I end up with a "regular" selection, and after the nachos I'll look over the menu but always end up getting the chicken mac and cheese. Right amount of cheese, chicken, and mushrooms, tasty, filling, and makes me say mmmm. However, it is something I have to be in the mood for, otherwise I'l pick another place to go being as I only order the one dish as an entree. As far as service, I cant say that I've had a negative experience that sticks out thus far, they could frequent the table a little more often once you have your meal though, and a little less before the meal trying to push drinks.

I stumbled upon this place (literally) on New Years Eve. It's kind of Applebee-ish and it is a chain restaurant, but the thing that saves Old Chicago from being lame is they have a great selection of beer. There's about 20 beers on tap and they have a lot of good bottled beers, everything from Anchor Steam to Old Style...it's there! We went back last night to see if the pizza was all that, and it was pretty tasty...I've never really actually had the "real deal" straight from Chicago, Chicago style pizza, so I can't really say if this was the real deal. But, for a chain restaurant in Downriver that has a wide selection of beers, this place isn't that bad!

Whenever we get a craving for pizza and beer, we usually think this joint. It's the closest proximity to my house, and is reasonable. We do come here from time to time, so it surely isn't or first Rodeo. The service is always on point, I have no complaints. The food is definitely on point as well,, there's this new pizza they came out with just recently. The ultimate garlic lovers special and it's phenomenal!! The only reason why I consider this spot a proper pizza parlor is because of their anchovies. You can either have them top it or on the side.. which makes this guy right here extremely happy. Thank you Old Chicago... you're definitely awesome. P.S. decent selection of local brews as well. (",) Weeeeeeeeee!!

I traveled to Detroit for business and went to this place twice. I loved the beer variety and the pizza was killer! Asked for wings as entree... Recommended.

I've been frequenting the Old Chicago for a long time. Corporate decided to change the World Beer Tour. They failed to work out the bugs prior to rolling out. My wife and I only got credited one beer each. We had three each. They also had to split our bill to run each of our cards. Yep two bills. I'm 40 beers away from receiving my mug. I do not think I'll be frequenting OC much any more. The prices on the beer and food are high. Typical dinner for two with drinks is $70. The way things are now it doesn't look like ill get my mug.

This review is about the service. I can't rate the food because no server ever came to our table. We watched as two other parties were seated and taken care of. My husband attempted to flag someone down. One server stared at him and then looked away! The hostess and one waitress looked stunned as we left and we told them why we were leaving! No apologies at all. We walked next door to Chili's where we were seated promptly and immediately taken care of.

Pizza is excellent here. They were extremely helpful with our 2 small children. We were in quickly and had a great server.

This is my go to place for craft beer and pizza. Lets be real, it's very expensive if you're drinking, but where else can you get a tall soft parade (or four)? I love their pizza, but since have stopped eating it. I tend to get explosive diarrhea that lasts a fortnight after eating some of that delicious pizza. The agonizing, warm, sweaty pain is not worth the immediate satisfaction for a pizza craving.

I used to really like this place. It was my go to for pizza but they have made a lot of changes to the menu items. The taste is still good and they still allow you to order items the way they used to be served. My last waitress left me at the take without checking on me for over 20 minutes when I was ready to check out.

Low quality food, better chance for good food from the dumpster. Music was so loud I couldn't hear the person across the table. Service was ok, waitress understood I was disappointed yet no manager.

Decent beer selection. Food was OK (pizza & wings). Overpriced for the quality. I would return for the limited craft beer on tap.

Pizza is usually pretty good. Nice beer selection. Appetizers can be pretty hit or miss. Service is typically OK, although sometimes they are quite slow. One not so great thing.. When eating pizza in restraint.. Any leftovers they stack up in a regular takeout box, so slices get slimy and/or stick..

Service was great! Waitress very friendly and attentive Decor comforting and cozy and fitting of Chicago- style pizza joints Ambiance romantic/ sporty/ cozy/ relaxing Food: excellent with exception the appetizer sampler- the nachos are kind of a joke But pizza was really tasty, baked to perfection Ceasar salad one of the best I've had This will definitely become one of our go-to pizza joints Definitely recommend

My boyfriend and I eat out 2 or 3 times a week and never have we both been so appalled! He loves Old Chicago's strawberry cheesecake so I convinced him to try the pizza. We were set down and waited on very fast although the server wasn't very friendly and rushed us as if the restaurant was busy although it was only one other booth with two women in her section. She was very friendly with the two ladies and I noticed all the staff kept coming over and conversing with them...maybe they were regulars. The order: to start we ordered wings and fried pickles I had water and he had Arnold Palmer. My boyfriend tasted his drink and wasn't pleased with the bitter and watered down lemonade. The server immediately replaced the drink stating that maybe the lemonade was out...when she returned with a new glass it still tasted the same so we swapped it out for a red berry sparkler drink that was really tasty. We started to split a pizza but because my boyfriend is Muslim and doesn't eat pork we decided to be safe and order 2 personal pizzas. He had ground beef, peppers, onions and mushrooms while I had a chicken pizza with bacon that was pretty decent. The problem: my boyfriend was on his second slice of pizza when he said I think I just tasted some pork! I told him he was just paranoid so he put the pizza down and began to go through it with the knife and fork and low and behold there was a big piece of bacon under the cheese. When we showed the server the piece of bacon she had the audacity to look at my pizza as if I had taken a piece of bacon from my pizza and put it on his plate. Right then we should have left but I encouraged him to get a replacement pizza so he could have it for lunch the next day. He was very hesitant but I assured him they would never make that mistake twice. Finally after we waited about 15 minutes the pizza arrived all boxed up but at this point he was paranoid the 1st slice he lifted up the cheese and saw a square piece of meat (obviously) not ground beef. He looked disgusted since he hasn't eaten pork in over 15 years. I was pissed I showed another server the bacon and handed her the pizza she ran to the back and when she came back she said there's no more bacon in here there was just that one piece. Both our mouths were on the floor. The manager: to began we saw the manager circle the restaurant and wave at the customers he knew but he never once came over to apologize for his cooks mistake or for our inconvenience. We didn't want anything free all we wanted was to be acknowledged but we never were until I asked for the managers name and corporates number. I had already paid the $33 bill and left the $6 and change for the tip when the manager approached us. He looked annoyed as if we had done something wrong and had the nerves to stand there with an attitude and say what's the problem. My boyfriend said you don't know what the problem is and then he came with I don't know what you guys were seeing but there wasn't any bacon in your pizza. I said excuse me he said well I saw the piece on the 1st pizza but I made sure that there wasn't any on the second pizza. I started to go nuts on him but I didn't want to go to jail but I was devastated and humiliated that the manager would approach us like we did something wrong. How dare him come up and insinuate that we lied about pork being on his pizza. This here was the worst service I have ever had while a manager was visible. In the end we took the pizza off the bill and left very dissatisfied and I know we will never go back here again. I hope to God it wasn't race related cause we were the only African Americans in the restaurant and the service given to us was less than shitty!

The good - They offer a ton of beers at reasonable prices. Some of their food items are really good (not a fan of their pizza, though), and it's a good place to go with friends to introduce them to craft beer that isn't hipster-y or snobbish. The bad - Service is hit or miss in terms of attentiveness and friendliness. Most of the staff has very limited knowledge about the beer they are serving (received the wrong beer more times than I can count, and good luck getting the appropriate glass). Also they tend to focus on quantity rather than quality in terms of their beer selection - which, again, is probably preferably to much of the population but not someone going mainly for good beer. The ugly - I used to go here about once every week or two with my girlfriend for a few month stretch. It came to a point where every time we would go there would be some mix up with our order (both beer and food), and the service appeared to be getting worse and worse. Furthermore the servers rarely admitted fault and would instead place it on someone else (cook, bartender, us) instead of owning up to their mistakes. I realize it is common for waiters to do this so they can save face and procure a salvageable tip, but it became really frustrating to hear new excuses every time we went - these waitresses really seemed to take it to a new level. We stopped going primarily for this reason.

It was fairly late for a Wednesday- we had a rough evening at a funeral home and were looking for some food and drinks for myself, my husband and his siblings. This place was about as perfect as it could be. I've never been to an Old Chicago, but I will not hesitate to return. Spicy pickles, freaking delish. Calzone? Hot- cheesy-fresh ingredients-huge, what's to dislike? Drinks were flowing nicely, though they were priced a bit higher than I'd have hoped. Their beer selection is nothing to turn your nose up at. The service was superb. If you've considered stopping in, I would suggest following through :)

If you're in the mood for a faux Chicago deep dish pizza, this place is good on that. Their pizza is the best around for a sit-down restaurant. Two people can split a small deep dish for like $12. They also have a variety of inexpensive appetizers. The atmosphere is nothing special. There's not really any TVs outside of the bar area, and it can be kind of cramped anywhere if it's busy. We usually go there in larger groups of around 8-10, and they always seat and serve us promptly. They always prided themselves on having dozens and dozens of beers on tap. Well, not anymore. Last time we went there (late-October 2013), the server said they cut back on some of their beers. We understood since it was a cost-cutting measure to get rid of lesser beers, like the motor oil equivalent RastafaRye Ale. My heart nearly fell out when she said they got rid of Budweiser on tap. Why would they get rid of Budweiser? I'm not spending $3.25 on a bottle of Budweiser, which is what she recommended.

Ok, maybe some will disagree but I never get consistency when I go here. We have had great pizza here in the past but today our pizza was under cooked and looked like a kid put it together. So much sausage on top that it was over kill and the toppings seemed cold. Nothing like a bad pizza to ruin your day, but never again. Waitress said it could of been old dough maybe, really? Do you not train your employees to handle these situations. The last thing a customer wants to here is maybe it's old. Wow

Went here tonight and had a great experience. The service was good but the food is what really shined!! I tried the new "Oh my spaghetti pie"...holy hell was that delicious!!!!! Spaghetti baked with cheese and Alfredo sauce, cut into a giant pie piece placed on a plate of marinara topped with fresh basil! Yummmmmm! Big enough for dinner and then some for lunch the next day. My husband had the traditional lasagna and the Old Chicago blood orange ale. Loved them both. The lasagna could have been a bit warmer, but still good. I forgot to mention out appetizer, the mozzarella bruschetta. Delicious! The new menu items definitely impressed me and I can't wait to eat my leftovers tomorrow for lunch! Also, I will be back for the spaghetti pie sooner than later!

Great service.. A small deep dish pizza is not a Chicago style pizza, it is a mini personal. Good flavor but not worth the price. Burgers burned and bread hard. Good salad. When we walked in the tv in the mf in dining area was set on a heart surgery show, not what I want to see while eating or ever. Waited to be say for 15 minutes and it was not busy

Old Chicago is a decent place to get sit-down pizza but definitely not the best pizza, service or prices. They have a couple good appetizers to start your meal. I really enjoy their garlic bread with marinara if it comes out fresh. (One time we ordered the garlic bread and it obviously had been sitting under a heat lamp because it was chewy and lukewarm, not crispy and hot... You'll see this is a trend here, not just with apps.) I also love their Sicilian pepperoni rolls: little rolls of deliciousness. I'd avoid their fried mac and cheese, as it just tasted like a deep-fried "something". No real cheese flavor at all. When it comes to the entrees, I typically stick to a personal pizza (and by personal, I mean it's a pizza large enough to share between two people). They're a little pricey, starting at around $10, especially if you order your pizza with a lot of toppings because they're all extra. Sometimes the pizzas come out hot, sometimes they do not. Sometimes the cooks spread your toppings evenly on the pizza and sometimes you'll have patches of olives here and a gathering of peppers there. Consistency is not Old Chicago's strong point at all. Service, for the most part, is pretty awful. The only time I've had astounding service at Old Chicago is when I've been served by my friends, who obviously take care of the table. Otherwise, you're lucky to see your server after they drop your food off. Forget getting refills on the cheap stuff like water and pop but they'll definitely ask if you want another beer or mixed drink. One of my favorite things about Old Chicago is their cheesecake. Holy shit, it's to die for. There are swirls of strawberry in the pie. It's really dense so I definitely would recommend sharing the hefty slice with someone. As everyone else has said, Old Chicago has an awesome selection of beer, which is its greatest redeeming factor. The food is good when they serve it correctly but the service leaves a lot to be desired.

Sevice was fair. But I have never eaten anything I have liked from there but one thing. So yesterday I had a craving for the chicken mac and cheese and when I received it, it was not the same. The noodles and cheese were different and it was very bland. I am writing this place off for good.

The huge beer selection makes this place show up as an occasional blip on our dinner radar, but we have yet to find that main entree that makes it worth a regular 35 minute drive. I can highly recommend the Signature Trio appetizer, which includes Italian Nachos (similar to the ones you remember at Macaroni Grill and Johnny Carino's), Sicilian Pepperoni Rolls (stuffed with peps, green onions, ranch and two kinds of cheese - yumm), and Cheese Garlic Bread (which sounds boring but holds it's own against the other two). Comfortable seating (we always score a booth). Can be noisy - crowded on the weekend, and always popular with families. Tons of TVs.

I enjoy pizza. I find it to be one of the world's great pleasures. So when my wife suggested a trip to Old Chicago for some pie, I jumped at the chance. It was a bit of a drive, but we've gone further for food in the past, so nothing wrong there. The atmosphere was fine, but it's a bit generic in the scheme of themed restaurants. Nothing really set it apart from a Pizza Uno or Aubree's in Novi. The server seemed fine, but I found his lack of attention a bit off-putting. My wife wanted to come here for the large beer selection and she enjoyed it for that. Normally, if I were drinking I would likely have enjoyed that as well, but I'm not so my experience was based mainly on the pizza. I ordered a personal Chicago style and was disappointed. When you say Chicago style, you expect the deep dish and this was neither deep nor Chicago style. It was also incredibly light on the sauce, further saddening me and my desire for pizza. I ate about three quarters of the pie before pushing it aside. I passed on taking it home, as I didn't want to torture poor Newman with substandard pizza. Perhaps I'm being overly harsh, the experience wasn't awful, and if we lived closer it might provide a fun bar type atmosphere to go to now and again, but as it stands it didn't offer me anything that I'd really want to go back for.

Is it bad that their selection of beers brought me to this restaurant and not their menu? I'm not a big fan of Chicago style pizza, but after a crappy day at work, I was in the mood for a beer. The hibs (aka Drew T) went last Friday. We can always eat pizza and were in the mood for something new. As soon as we walked in, I liked this place. It has a nice darker interior, and it's not too much of a sports bar. Fulfilling my original goal, my first order was a staff choice flight - 4 different imports. I customized a thin crust pizza and hubs ordered a deep dish. Both pies were very tasty. They have a really good sauce and the toppings tasted very fresh. One star away because I suggest they actually use more sauce. I really hate a thin layer that absorbs into the crust and that's what it was. I would go back and sample more of their beverage goods. They had a very full menu that has nothing to do with pizza so I might try something else.

If you like pizza and beer this is the place to be. They always have new beers on tap and have a beer tour card where you can win cool prizes as you drink more new beer. The beer tour card also gives discounts certain times of the year, after eating multiple times on Sunday, and your birthday month. If you don't like pizza I've found all the other food options pretty good except the steak wasn't anything to write home about. I've ordered the steak twice and both were not cooked to the desired doness and was a little dry. The appetizers look amazing and the cookie desert is very good. I'm a big fan of the Thai pizza.

This place is crazy. We went out with anther couple and both ordered pizza and I also ordered their apple walnut salad. My husband ordered a deep dish pizza bc the waitress told him that was the only way he could get it in the size he wanted. My friends ordered a garlic pizza and asked if they could only get sausage on half the pizza...The waitress said they couldn't do it on only half so they opted not to have sausage at all. I ordered my salad minus blue cheese crumbles. SOOO we received our food and my husband ended up with a larger pizza and thin crust, my friends had their pizza WITH sausage, and I got a salad without blue cheese and APPLES. IDK the waitress and manager was nice and offered to bring out new pizzas but we were not wanting to wait any longer to eat. They did only charge my husband for the size of pizza he actually ordered but they did not take money off my friends bill. Oh and they let us have a cookie. The wait staff REALLY needs to write stuff down I think. On a good note the food and drinks were pretty good.

Seated immediately. Waiter came over and took our drink order. Told him we never dined there before. Did not offer suggestions and wandered around for over fifteen minutes. Never returned to us to take our order. We left after twenty minutes. No service. No food. Nothing. Worse service ever!

Love the place. If you love beer they have 30 beers on tap with several bottled beer. You need to join the beer tour to enjoy the joint. I think they have excellent food. Fish and chips and calzones are excellent. Pricey beer but the atmosphere is excellent.

Good food and generally good service. We like to go on Wednesday nights for team trivia - they have a great host! My husband is currently working his way through a beer tour there. He really likes trying different beers and they have a great draft selection as well as bottle beer choices. I would definitely suggest you try them out - they have a decent pizza selection and their mac and cheese is actually decent as well!

The best thing OC has going for it is a huge beer menu even though it is often outdated and many standards are not in stock. The last time I was here, they did not have any of the top 3 beers my girlfriend wanted off the beer menu. That being said, if you are a beer lover then you should definitely be able to find something here. The service and pricing are both fine. Food is kinda blah. I was told by the server once that they could not substitute items of a dish (e.g. hold onions etc) because the food is all shipped to them frozen and baked or microwaved when ordered. So stick with the pizza or a salad.

The server was nice and sweet and all. But lacking on her ambition for waiting tables. I don't know if it was because it was getting late, and she was ready to go. I don't know if it's just been a long day for her. Whatever. She didn't check back with us to see how everything tasted, but did stop by and ask if we needed refills on our beverages. I've always been asked "how's your meal". We came in late and the bar area was fairly empty. So we sat ourselves in a booth and started looking at the menu. Right off the bat, our server greets us when we sit and takes our drink orders. They have specials late at night which was cool. Also this semi-sports themed place has multiple tvs with various games going on. She ever turned the TV above our table to the Tigers game. Go Detroit Tigers! Then she takes our food order (they have over 30 beers to choose from), and we ended up getting an actual meal to share. The Chicken Alfredo with fettuccine and loads of broccoli and an extra bowl of alfredo sauce. Props to her for bring a second plate and not charging us like most other restaurants do. She was so on top of her game and so nice, it's just that she forgot to ask "how is everything" or "are you enjoying your meal". There are tricks to get that in there, even if some odd ball conversation is going on with the guests...you can politely interrupt. We did tip her fat though, cause my dinning guest is in the industry business. I'd definitely go back. Maybe today...the food was that good!

After coming up short in finding a place to do brunch on a Sunday, my friend and I settled on Old Chicago. Apparently it's like her 2nd home... it seems when you live downriver your choices are very limited. I was surprised that this place was pretty good, mostly because it was a chain. Highlights included good service, decent prices, and HUGE beer selection. On Wednesday nights from 8-10pm they have trivia, which I hear is a pretty good time. And they have a "beer club".. you get some type of punch card, and after enjoying 100 beers you get a t-shirt. The food was nothing terribly memorable, but it wasn't bad either. I'd like to try their pizza.. it looked pretty good. And they have awesome Ranch dressing (mmm.. Ranch) I have to admit, with all of the choices I have in the Ferndale and Ann Arbor area this place totally wouldn't hold it's own, or get 4 stars even. But when you compare it to downriver's restaurant selection you can't go wrong with coming here.

I've been to Old Chicago a few times with my fiance because they're conveniently located and the kitchen is open late. Unfortunately, having tried them several times now, and having tried different meals every time, I have to say the food here is just not up to snuff. I don't expect much from a chain restaurant, but everything I've ever ordered here (pizza, stromboli, etc) has been incredibly bland. I can season my own food, but it should have at least SOME taste before I have to doctor it up. Their beer offerings look impressive (certainly extensive, anyhow), but skip the food unless you find cardboard to be a tasty snack.

3 stars for an awesome server who just didn't ask "How is your food?" Ok. This place is great, and I've never had an issue with service. They have an awesome beer selection, and I usually get a beer flight when I go. So cool! Their sicilian pepperoni rolls are amazing, and of course their pizza is good. But their antipasta salad is really good too. During the week at lunch time they have this pizza bar thing that I swear I have o.d.'d on before. So many carbs! We've had big parties here too, and they are so accomodating and fast. This place is such an amazing addition to the area. Perfect for after the movies at MJR!

After a weekend of watching two of the easiest kids in the world to spend time with, our favorite people in the world wanted to treat us to dinner. Pizza you say, and beer too? Yes sir, I will be there! I have loved deep dish pizza since the first bite that graced my tongue, so having the occasion to hit up old Chicago is something I always look forward to. The pizza is quite good - not necessarily what you would find in the windy city, but definitely a good stand-in if you live around Detroit and don't have time for the 4 hour drive. They use a sizeable enough payload of cheese to give the pie some heft, but not so much that you are kept from putting down a couple slices. The base crust has just enough crisp to stand up to the toppings, and the outer crust is buttery and flakey. Old Chicago isn't just for pizza lovers, though...this place makes a beer drinker feel like a kid in a candy store. When the beer selection numbers in the triple digits you know you're in for a treat. They carry a wide variety of premium beers including brews like chimay and old rasputin, a load of Michigan beers (heavy on bells), and even the domestic mega-brews like bud and miller. The restaurant is clean and well laid out, and sports fans will love the plethora of flat screens always within view. Join the beer tour and get prizes as you try new beers from around the globe!

It was good but not great, waitstaff was good except kid that brought our food over didn't even know what our meal was called.......food was kinda bland except the Samuel Adams battered cod with shrimp platter, wife's California chicken was to sloppy to eat. I would go back but it won't be my first choice

Chain restaurants are not really my thing. I rarely go unless I am with friends or it is a quick solution. The latter being the case last night. We had set out with a few spots in mind. First option was the broadcast booth which had a 40 minute wait, second being Polonus which I some how passed. It was getting late so we decided to try this place. What a great choice. The real highlight for me was our waitress. She was one of the best waitresses I have ever had. I was being a complete brat and she never once showed one sign of annoyance. I ordered a Johnnie Walker black which they did not have, so she went and got their bar book to show me what they did have. After ordering food I then asked about the type of Chimay they carry (yes a chain restuarant that carries one of the best belgians beers), and she was not at all bothered by going to check. She very much earned her 50% tip (I am a huge sucker for a great waitress, even more-so on payday). The beer selection was fantastic. It could use some work under a few of the catagories, but I was not complaining. My girlfriend ordered a chicken dish which was really good. I ordered an Italian grinder which was similar to a stromboli, and it was stellar. Italian sausage, pepperoni, meatballs, onions, and cheese baked in pizza dough with a side or marinara sauce... Sah-wooon!!! Before that arrived Sarah and I induldged in their Caprese salad. This place really amazes me for a chain. A Caprese salad on top of a great beer selection, I was impressed. Between Old Chicago and Carrabas, I have a newly aquired faith in chain restuarants. I will definately be back here to try a few more of the menu items... this time could have just been a fluke. If you vomit in your mouth any time you see an Ed Hardy or Affliction shirt, this place is not for you. I have learned to curb my desire to scream and yell everytime I see one these disappointments to overly priced T-shirts, but some don't have the self control I do.

At there last night, the service was outstanding the server knew all the craft beers my hubs was asking about, I had the thin crust pizza which was pretty good and hubs had a bacon cheese burger which he enjoyed we go there often like the trivia and the bar area, other side of restaurant is good for family's.

Old Chicago is a great addition to the downriver area. HUGE beer menu (even though I dont drink beer, its fun to look at the huge selection and contests they have going on). Love sitting in the bar area during lunch. My fav meal is the marinara spaghetti with salad for lunch. The sauce is spicy and the salad yummy and fresh. They also have a pizza bar at lunch which is really good as well. Restrooms are very clean, staff is very friendly and down to earth. Am always seated immediately, no waits. Highly recommend.

I called in and ordered a personal pizza to go. The person on the phone said it would be ready in 15 minutes. When I arrived 15 minutes later, the hostess told me that my order was not ready yet. I stood there 15 more minutes and she had still not brought it out, so I asked the manager if my pizza was ready. The manager went to the back, brought it out, and said "Here." Offered no apology and did not seem to care at all about the long wait. The pizza was decent, but not good enough to go back!

Poor service. We came in and was seated right away. 2 other tables were seated after us and orders taken right away....meanwhile we still hadn't seen a waitress. Not busy enough for an excuse to ignore your patrons. Not worth the one star
