Hard for me to believe that I am giving a banquet center a 4 star review. But when my niece recently had her wedding reception here, I was pleasantly surprised at the level of service, quality of the food and the friendliness of the staff at this downriver facility The room, while not fancy was quite nice and even included an patio area that people could go and enjoy their drinks on. The appetizers were a simple, serve yourself affair. And the dinner came out family style and included chicken, potatoes vegetables etc. And they brought cake and dessert to the table afterward. The bartender was quick to make the drinks and even remembered me with each visit to her bar. And the "hostess" of the place kept things moving along letting the guests know what was next in the evening. All in all, for at least this guest, the evening was far more nice than what I anticipated. And they made the bride happy and that was enough to warrant a 4 star rating in itself!.

Went for Easter dinner with the family. Called 6 weeks in advance with reservation. Wrote down menu items and prices reserved for 8 asked if they needed a deposit said no. Get a phone call from them 2 days before Easter they need my credit card to hold my reservation because they have a waiting list now. I gave it to them. Show up Easter at 1:45 for a 2;00 reservation. Line literally out the door. Waited 20 minutes only to get up to the front and find out we need to pre-purchase "tickets"??? Had to step aside and buy our tickets and because we didn't "pre-pay" they charged us $2.00 extra per person! Are you kidding me? Not once did anyone say come in before Easter and buy your tickets or the price goes up $2 per person! Food was good, long line for drinks and 2:00 was packed! We will go again at 4:00 and pre-pay now that we know. Very unorganized is an understatement. Nobody knew where to go or what to do.

Terrible food, terrible waitstaff, bartenders have no clue! The venue is beautiful... That is all you got crystal gardens! Your staff is terrible! They fed all of the guests before the bride and groom! When pointing out their mistakes they said "were trying." That is not good enough for somebody's special day! Maybe train your staff to be on the ball, and maybe a little customer service training! Politeness goes a long way in this industry!

A close friend is getting married and after visiting a half of dozen halls, Crystal Gardens is by far the best within her planned budget. Kristen the event planner was wonderful in assisting all her needs from the ceremony to the reception. We were concern with that the colors of the table cloth and chair covers wouldn't match her chosen colors, but the choices they have were better than we could of imagine. Every room comes with their own personal accessed patio (smoking area) which is great since you step out to it within 5 ft, you're still in view of the wedding. Can't wait to see this come together on her big day!

The services provided here definitely needs improvement. The venue is beautiful, spacious, and elegant, however accommodations and amenities provided are very low. That can be troublesome.

I've been here many times for weddings, engagements, and the last time was New Years. I usually stay home on New Years but my brother surprised me with tickets for a party. They were $70, and that included an open watered down bar, dinner, dessert, and pizza after midnight. They didn't offer pizza for non-meat craze eaters like myself. Was bummed, but it's ok. Better not to have consumed late night carbs. Dinner included salad, cold pasta, bread and butter (my guilty pleasure), pasta with marinara, veggies, roasted potato balls (so good), chicken breast, and roast beef (which I didn't try). The pasta, potatoes, and bread with butter was good enough for me. In the dessert room, there was a chocolate fondue fountain, eclairs, puddings, mini cakes, whole cakes, cream puffs, but no fruit lol. The decor was beautiful, party balloons and hats everywhere. The drinks were watered down which causes headaches, but then again....don't need a room full of youngsters going crazy to early to fast. Which I was fine with water and champagne for the midnight hour. Was delicious. We had fun, dj's were awesome, and the waitstaff were very professional and courteous.

Had my wedding there in October and it was an absolutely perfect day! The Crystal Gardens takes care of everything. They have friendly and knowledgeable staff. The food was great! They made everything so easy. We had the ceremony and reception there. It was pricey, but definitely worth it!

I went to the Parkside Gardens in the Southgate Civic Center, for which they cater. A vegetarian meal was pre-ordered for me. When my meal arrived it had SKINLESS CHICKEN ON THE PLATE. WTF? Apparently the "chef" thought this was funny. I guess they would never poison someone who has dietary restrictions because of their religious beliefs, huh? Think twice, people, if they would do this to me, they will do this to you. When I told the person who brought it that I could not eat it, she offered to remove the chicken. Their second try was a plate full of steamed California blend veggies. That's it. And do you think I was going to eat it after that? Some places just don't get it and don't care. So, I won't bother going to another even there.

It's not that bad if you're in the market for an inexpensive, cookie cutter wedding. They have a little chapel inside (for ceremonies) and a few rooms w/ dividers that can be open or closed, depending on your guest size. The decor is alright, but certainly nothing special. The food (from my experiences there) is buffet style, and certainly nothing to write home about. Ultimately, this will work for you if you're on a budget and want to be downriver. But I would hope you'd want something 'more' for your special day than a revolving door banquet facility. There are always numerous weddings going on, and there is certainly nothing special, or memorable, about this place.

I've been to this location multiple times for weddings, high school sports banquets, and other misc. dinners/ events. I can't say that I've ever been disappointed, however knowing what to expect. I hadn't ever been to NYE at the location. I had heard mixed reviews and figured, since my downtown plans fell through, that I'd give it a shot. Minus the ticket purchasing where they give you a hell of a hassle with seating, table numbers, changing table numbers, etc (which I sat where I wanted to anyway, nanananabooboo, I'm paying with MY money remember? Good thing your front desk put up such a stink in the first place) I was pleasantly surprised. The setup and decor were very festive, there was plenty of food, the staff (that worked the actual event) were friendly and accommodating, and I ended up having a blast. The music could have had a slight bit more of a variety but at least they made the attempt to please the crowd. I was also surprised that they served shots at the bar, any other time I've thought to ask I was told they only did beer and mixed drinks. All in all, I ran into people I hadn't seen in a while, laughed, danced, and rang in the new year appropriately. I'd absolutely go again.
