Best breakfast in Northville! The rest of their food is excellent as well. If you want a delicious, home cooked meal for a reasonable price, this is the place. The lady who gave it one star below gave five stars to McDonalds.

We stopped here for lunch today as it is one spot in Downtown Northville my wife and I have not eaten at - a mistake we will not be repeating. The interior is drab and worn down and obviously has not been updated from the previous restaurant that occupied this location. We were pleasantly surprised by the prices on the menu, but would soon realize there was a good reason for them. I ordered the basic eggs, bacon, hash browns and toast breakfast while my wife had their version of a cobb salad and my son had sausage and pancakes. When the food came out it did not look appetizing in the least - my hash browns and bacon were burnt to a crisp, and my wife's salad had limp lettuce and was smothered in pickles from a jar. Her Italian dressing looked like a clump of nastiness and barely edible. The salad was also loaded with hard boiled eggs she had asked the waitress to hold. Our entrees tasted about they same as they looked - terrible. We ordered the two most basic items on the menu - breakfast and salad - and they all came out awful. I shudder to think what the entrees taste like. Our waitress was barely competent. The service was extremely slow despite the restaurant being empty on a Thursday afternoon. She didn't ask us once if we wanted refills (not that I wanted one considering my Diet Pepsi was flat). Bottom line: Riffle's is an absolute disaster. There are so many other good restaurants in Downtown Northville -- avoid this one like the plague.

Bananas Foster French toast was delicious. The corned beef hash was homemade and very savory you will probably want to add it to something like eggs. The Eggs Benedict was good! We went on a Sunday before noon and it was crowded, but we were sat right away. We will definitely return to this little gem in Northville!

So many have already stated what I would say. Turkey dinner ( Mitch nailed it) carved turkey off of an actual turkey would have been great. Very very salty, but that comes from processing. The potatoes and stuffing were very flavorful, but again so salty. A vegetable should be inc. this came with choice of soup/ salad, I chose soup. The noodles were good, as we're the bits of chicken, again very salty. I gained 20 pounds just from salt ... Lol I wouldn't pay more than the $9 charged for he meal. Hubs ordered baked cod... Super inflated price for baked cod. $11. Very very thin fillet. Seasoned appropriately. Served with an ice cream scoop of real mashed potatoes and 2-3 tbsp of green beans. Also served with soup- great texture, homemade taste- not as salty as chicken noodle soup. Son ordered a plain burger and it was very good/ served with a good portion of crinkled fries. Service was great. It's a small place and it was sooooooo quiet. The atmosphere is low-key and simple. I would stop by to try the sandwich/ salads.

A quaint cafe tucked on downtown Northville's main street, Riffles offers breakfast entrees, sandwiches, and burgers to hungry shoppers. Simplicity and muted decor behind the large picture windows beckons to another time when diners could enjoy their food, and families of all ages gathered to make dining out an event. Large booths and long tables accommodate groups easily. Riffles stops serving select breakfast items after 3PM, like those on their Sunday brunch menu. Showing up late risks the kitchen running out of key ingredients. I settled for a spinach and mushroom quiche after the lady behind me ordered the last popular spinach, feta, and roasted pepper quiche. Rats. The beau favoured an old standby, the bacon cheddar burger. Our orders came quickly, and the quiche looked something like a browned and breaded pop tart. It tasted plenty good, heavy on the mushrooms and spinach, satiating my hunger with homemade flavours. Served on a large bun with a pile of French fries, the burger came out hot and medium fully through as requested by the beau. He tucked in while I thieved fries to accompany my quiche, and they were satisfactorily crispy and crunchy. Even with a little girl's family birthday celebration, Riffles stayed quiet and a pleasant place to relax after shopping. The waitress refilled our drinks regularly, and we enjoyed the pleasant views and conversation without feeling rushed in the slightest.

My husband and I have been eating here for years! The food is consistently very good and very reasonably priced There are specials every night to keep the menu interesting and Rachel and the wait staff are very friendly. My girlfriends meet here for breakfast often. Now that there are tables outside, we enjoy eating there even more. For home cookingat reasonable prices in a friendly atmosphere you can't beat Riffles in Northville!!!!

I love this little diner. The place is small and the inside is simple but remember your going for the food. We have eaten here many times and every dish has always been fantastic. We generally go for breakfast and the omelets are light and fluffy and you can tell the person cooking really cares how there prepared. Just recently had the quiche and it was out of this world. I have not had the chance to eat lunch or dinner but if my breakfast is any indication of how it will be then your in good hands. I would recommend this place for breakfast! Just remember it's a small family diner and if your looking for glitz and glam and really over the top put together dishes with high prices then this place might not be for you.

Walking in, the place seemed clean, but empty. The wait staff was friendly. However, it was a complete let down when we got our food. Maurice Salad was solely innards of the head of iceberg lettuce with chunks of processed meat and Swiss cheese. My boyfriend got the highly recommended chicken dish with the pretzel crumb breading. The breading was good. The chicken had a strange texture. The canned green beans aside the chicken were edible I suppose. The mashed potatoes with mystery sauce that accompanied his dish would turn any American off of mashed potatoes. Sorry such a bad review. We feel we owed an honest review to the public.

I really wanted to LOVE this place, but it just didn't do it for me. I heard all about the "family-owned gem", "all homemade ingredients" and it sounded RIGHT UP MY ALLEY and I couldn't wait to try it. I even tried it sight unseen....with a group!!! The manager was SUPER-FLEXIBLE, I really ended up having a ton of needs and she rolled with it all. What a great sign. The menu was fairly diverse, something for everything really - "this is gonna be PERFECT!" The waitress was ok, several errors made it hard to be overly-excited about the place. Wrong meals served to people, specialty orders not accomodated, an ice tea refill in a Pepsi....you get the picture. The prices and sizes of menu items served seemed a little erratic. All in all my group liked the place. The group did have nice things to say about the soups - made fresh daily. Didn't love/hate the place and left my group wondering what other places were in Northville to try.

The food and service for the outside seating at breakfast and lunch is great. The owner is a nice guy who even makes my dog a piece of ham for a treat. I look forward to stopping by during my walk around Northville.

Visited with my family for fathers day Breakfast. We sat outside as it was a beautiful day and ordered our morning breakfast. Service was excellent, food was great, kids loved it definitely going back.

Riffles is NOT closed! My stepdad & I stop here for breakfast every year after the Jingle Bell Run in Northville. We have always enjoyed our meals. I have gotten omelettes in the past with the red skin potatoes, which have always been very good. Today, I chose to get the Corned Beef Hash with Eggs & Country Toast. It was REALLY good. I loved every bite. The Hash had just enough onion and salty flavor. The bread was definitely fresh and went very well with my eggs (which I always eat together). Riffles is a no-frills, homestyle restaurant with friendly service & good comfort food. Our waitresses are always very friendly and attentive. It is usually somewhat quiet when we stop in, which we both appreciate. It's a small restaurant, and the last thing we want to do is wait for a table or food after a 5k.

I just came across this place as I was in the area. The place looked good from the outside, it fits the Northville area. The service was very good, staff were friendly. The food was delicious and the prices were excellent.

What a great little place! Having just moved to Northville, we have been trying different places. While the decor is very plain and simple, the food more than makes up for it! We both had the pretzel chicken. It was excellent. The server was very friendly and efficient. It is so nice to go to a place with good customer service. The rolls were out of this world. We did not have dessert but saw the pies in the case and they appear to be homemade. May go back for just dessert some time. It it is as good as the meal we had, we will go back often. The only reason it is not getting 4 stars is that the do not serve wine. (Not their fault, I am sure.) It is very reasonably priced. But for good home cooked food, this is the place.

Just making a quick review today. 4 of us wondered in during the Talent for the Title finale at the square. There were some positives and negatives Positives: VERY friendly staff all around. Lots of choices on the menu without being overwhelming. Plenty of room in our booth for the 4 of us. Negatives: cafeteria ingredients at inflated prices. My bean and ham soup was pretty tasty. My friend said she liked her Tomato bisque, but it didn't look appetizing to me (my bean soup was actually redder in color). The salad my other friend started with looked decent. My tween ordered the 3 sliders with fries. The fries look like crinkle cut Orieda's. He didn't eat them. Each slider was dressed with a single pickle slice which was just a little bigger than the width of the slider. He liked them. Said they were juicy. He was full after the 3. I ordered a turkey dinner with roasted stuffing and potatoes. Would have appreciated roasted turkey and not a processed breast/roll sliced thick, but it was passable. I asked for extra cranberry sauce and was informed it costs 25 cents. Not a big expense, but kinda cheesy. My stuffing was a bit too moist...more like a steamed stuffing, not roasted. My smashed potatoes were probably the best of my plate. Nice and lumpy with the skins still on. I was really hungry so I ate nearly everything, I just didn't enjoy it a lot. Friend #1 had ordered a turkey croissant. What she got was kind of laughable. A dry regular sized croissant with 2 think slices of turkey roll/breast plopped on it, and a nest of lettuce next to it. She had to ask for mayo. The turkey was half again the size of the croissant, so it looked pretty ridiculous. Friend #2 had ordered chicken stew. For the price I expected a bigger portion. He said it was passable, but not delicious. We didn't HATE our meal, but I wouldn't go back again on purpose. If I was REALLY hungry and at another even in Northville and I was with a group that insisted on going there, I'd order soup and a salad.

Italian Beef sandwich with fresh red pepper slices? NOT. Those were canned/jarred red peppers and they were so bitter the sandwich was indelible. Total disappointment, I'll stick with koji next time.

Service was nice and friendly, breakfast was just okay. The " bone in ham" was a thin dry piece of meat. The menu had some tasty sounding lunch and dinner stuff. Maybe next time will be better?

Locally owned place with finely chopped corned beef hash pretty similar to my fave joint Bode's, a bit of onion flavor added though. They feature ham and turkey cut off the bone, homestyle foods, soups, salads and breakfast items. No processed crap, no microwaved items, everything is house made and fresh. My parents love this joint. I think it skews a bit in that age range but don't let it scare you off. They are friendly with the owner who is a very sweet, accomodating type guy. I am a fan of the real turkey club sandwich here with crispy bacon, the plentiful maurice salad with house made dressing and the pretzel chicken. My dad loves the thanksgiving sandwich or dinner and the perch dinner. Specials are usually a good option, so give one a whirl. Friendly service, homey atmosphere. A little hidden gem.

Although I am only giving this place three stars don't let it fool you. I went in for breakfast one morning as it was the only place on the block that wasn't busy. After I went in I could see why. Every other place on the block was hopping with kids, young adults and young families. This place was not. It was quiet and I honestly was afraid that any loud sounds would give a customer a heart attack. No big deal though. I went in with my friends and we sat for breakfast. Now I did see a few specials that could have been good but I stuck with a bacon egg & cheese sandwich. It was good but it wasn't anything special. In all honesty I felt like I could have made it at home just the same, if not better. Well besides that it was actually a nice little place for a decent meal. Three people ate for $22 and it was not a bad meal. No pizazz but I am sure I will be back at some point. Plus it is a local establishment. Screw big business.

Soo.. I used to live in Novi, and I was in the neighborhood for a doctors visit, and Mere and I decided to stop in Northville for some lunch. We walked around the downtown bits, and noticed this place. I gotta say, the outside was pretty deceiving from what the inside actually is. It really just looked like a geriatric's paradise. So, that aside, the waitress/host was quite friendly, but not annoyingly so, and gave us plenty of time to look at the menu, which was basic, but creative. I had the baked potato soup with bacon, and Mere had the asparagus mushroom quiche. I can tell you the soup was pretty F-bomb good. Mere said the quiche was quite good as well. It certainly wasn't gourmet, but more of a comforting type place, and that's always great in my book. Overall, if I was in the neighborhood, I probably won't go back here until I've tried other places in the area, but this was good, cheap, and quick. Cheers!

So, whilst in Northville (not my neck of the woods), my friend and I became hungry (so we decided to get some lunch), and we needed a place to eat. We tooled around the main strip and saw a plethora of fine dining establishments that weren't open, seeing as it was only 10:45am. We broke out the phones, checked out the Yelp app, and here we go...Riffles it is! With only one review under it's belt (and a decent menu posted near the door), we decided to give it a go. Upon walking in to Riffles, I felt like we may have made a mistake. It was not the quaint little cafe I was hoping for, no, it was more of a coney island meets grandmas basement type feel. The simple decor paired with soft rock jams made me wary and slightly concerned, but more so was the fact that the place was virtually empty (they served breakfast as well, so it wasn't a case of we came too early). But like I said, the menu that was posted looked like it had some tasty treats, and well, we were greeted at the door by a pastry case full of delicious looking desserts. We were looking for lunch, and they catered. The menu had just about every sort of "American" sandwich you could wish for, and a substantial selection of home style meals as well. There were about eight kinds of salad to select from, and all sounded delicious. Myself, I went for the quiche of the day (menu says it comes with a fruit cup and fruit bread). My friend went for the soup (they had four or five to choose from). So, as for the quiche, it was great. I love quiche, with a passion. It's one of those things that I don't often indulge in, but when I do, it better be good because I know a good one. The crust was flaky and buttery, the filling was great, and hosted asparagus (must be in season) as well as mushrooms - although the waitress told me that I would be getting a ham and asparagus quiche (still disappointed), and it was covered with melted cheese. A generous slice that could easily be split in two if you were looking for something light. The sides were alright, typical fruit cup with grapes (do they always have to have grapes?) and the fruit bread actually turned out to be a what I would assume was a store bought blueberry muffin. All in all, the quiche was delicious. I would absolutely come here again to see what other kinds they whip up. My friend got a baked potato with bacon soup. I only had a spoonful, but it tasted quite nice. A thick chowder-like base with chunks of potato and large pieces of bacon. Looked good, and it was a generous portion. The tab came, and well, it's probably the least I have spent on a decent meal out in quite a while. In fact, I don't think anything on the menu was over ten dollars. I am pleased, my tummy was happy, and I left feeling good about not being broke. If i'm in the area, I will definitely check it out again.

A pleasant suprise in downtown Northville. Hopefully it stays a secret so it doesn't start packing up on weekends.

I'm so sorry to tell you that my hubby & I are out for. "Vacation day" and lunch Outdoors under an umbrella table! It's a beautiful day .....and then we went inside of Riffles. It was pretty dingy looking on the inside. We were going to eat outdoors so we stayed! We liked the little umbrella tables outdoors (see photo**). When my husbands coffee & my diet Pepsi arrived I was stunned to taste my diet because it was as if the pop machine hadn't been cleaned in ages! It was just plain "gross" tasting! I told the waitress that it tasted really bad. But she only offered lemonade or water. Many restaurants would've offered to change the tanks or something? Then right after that, the server brought my husbands coffee and set it down in front of him. The cup was filthy on the outside so I can only imagine the inside!! We both have been servers in our past work history. We know how hard they work. But neither of us would've ever set a coffee cup that looked like that down in front of a customer. We did tell her that the coffee cup was dirty. She offered to get another cup of coffee as well. She was kind and sweet and the only thing I wouldn't have done that she did, was to set a dirty coffee cup in front of a customer. We have never been to this restaurant or any other restaurants in this little quaint town. So my husband and I decided to go someplace else to enjoy the beautiful Summer day outdoors and get a nice lunch at a quaint outdoor diner. Please feel free to check out my photos and I'm sorry I cannot report better or more news because we got up and left!!! It is cute and quaint looking on the outside and the umbrella tables are appealing etc... But had we been forced to rely on eating inside, I probably would not have done so due to the fact that the inside is a bit on the dingy side !!! I'm sorry to not bring you better news!!! But I assure you, we made the server aware of our disappointments before we just got up and left. **************************Date: July 28, 2014 Hello again.....I feel like I need the chance to respond because Mr. R. is making it sound as if I did not tell anyone in person about these issues and that isn't true. As I said, we had a young girl waitress and she was very pleasant. I told her that my soda tasted "like the machine had not been cleaned in a long time"...and I told her it "tasted just awful". She said there was nothing she could do except offer me water or lemonade. I don't like either of those things when I'm dining out. I had thought about having my husband run across the street to the "Great Harvest Bread Co." and get me a soda from their machine. But my husband said he wanted me to be happy. I had thought about still staying but then when my husbands coffee cup came and we saw the splashes of "dried coffee" along with the new splashes (**see my photo) we decided to leave. We did tell the waitress about the dirty coffee cup and she offered to get my husband a new coffee cup but by then my husband was perturbed and I was a bit "grossed out". I wanted to make sure that my readers know that #1 I only write the truth of what I've witnessed first hand.....#2 I truly prefer to write good reviews as you can see by the percentage of good vs. bad reviews. Lastly, I would never leave without telling the waitress and/or manager first hand person to person. Thank you so much for reading....

Checked this place out over the weekend and it lived up to the hype. The food was great and the waitress was quick and efficient. There is parking right out from or across the street behind pooles tavern. Prices are on par for northville. I had the quesadilla very good comes with chicken and bacon in it and they load it up with cheese! My friend got a omelet and it was huge! and tasty lol! Added bonus there is usually something cool going on around Northville in the downtown area or over at Northville Downs
