I like this Five Guys location, the people are friendly and seem to genuinely enjoy their job. The food is of above average fast-type food quality, and every now and then when we want something quick, easy and greasy we stop in to take some home. The burgers at five guys are messy and juicy. They are also large; a regular size comes with two patties. I know, because I made the rookie mistake ordering an extra patty and my husband ended up with three. Kinda gross if you ask me, but he still liked it well enough. The veggie sandwich is not a veggie burger, it is a bunch of veggies of your choice with sauce of your liking, on a bun. Because this whole joint is pretty much comfort food haven, I do kinda miss that fake 'burger' thing to go alongside their delicious fries, but I'm not complaining because I do like the vegwhich, don't get me wrong. I add grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, light lettuce and tomatoes with cheese and light mayo and it reminds me of a Philly cheese steak. Sorta. Fries are yummy, fresh and they come in big heaps...A regular order is plenty to share. If you decide to eat in, the lack of ambiance is met with free peanuts. It almost balances out. I see this as more of a take out spot, at least for us. I like that you can order online, choose your toppings in 'light', 'regular', 'heavy' format (*as in, light ketchup with heavy/extra lettuce), and specify when you want to pick up your food. When you're done and you've paid, they will send you a detailed receipt via email. Cool.

It's a decent burger but I think this place is over rated and definitely over priced. Can't say anything bad about free peanuts and they are generous with their fries

This Five Guys is great! It's cleaner & more efficient than the Five Guys I've frequented out in California. My burger was cooked to perfection and you can't go wrong with the Cajun fries. They definitely hooked me up with more fries than the regular version I ordered. As for the Five Guys vs. In-N-Out comparison... I give it to Five Guys. The burger I had today reaffirmed that for me. Jalapenos, pickles, mustard, ketchup, sautéed mushrooms & cheese on my burger... yes please! All toppings are free too! In-N-Out doesn't have that and the Five Guys' Cajun fries are vastly superior to those served as at In-N-Out. Give Five Guys a try... you will not be disappointed.

We go here About once a week and we will stop for a while since ask the workers have an attitude, seriously you will notice. The one downtown it's so much better, quality of food, the people and the environment the people create. This place used to be fun and good when it first opened, now it's just another burger that is okay. Going to baggers for a while

They make good burgers that are not enormous so you can eat every last bite and fries that are pretty good (they need to get the recipe that Penn Station uses!) - the peanuts are a nice touch...but the reason I like this place so much is the staff - they seem like they really enjoy their work - always a warm greeting, always a bag of delish food served with a smile.

My review is specifically for this location (in general I really like Five Guys) This location has horrible service. They wont accept Five Guys gift cards. They claim the register can not read them. They seem to have no other method to read gift cards. Their fries tasted like trash. The workers look unprofessional, all the other Five Guys the workers are nice and speak well. One guy at this one was wearing his hat tilted to the side. Anyway, I will never go to this one again. Ive given it 3 chances now and it is always 1 star.

I was starving and was wanting a burger but didn't want to go to a sit down restaurant. I decided to try out Five Guys. I got a regular cheeseburger and a regular fry. It cost approximately $10. My only complaint about my experience in the actual restaurant is that it is too freaking noisy in there. I basically had to scream at the cashier what I wanted and he still left some items off my burger because I don't think he heard me. It took maybe 5-10 minutes to get my order. The regular size fry is enormous. If I ever come back, I will be sure to get the small one. I couldn't even finish it and that's a rarity for me. The burger was also large, 2 patties. I ended up getting tomato, lettuce, mayo and I think ketchup? I also wanted onion and pickles but as I mentioned, I don't think he heard me so it wasn't on the burger. Or at least I didn't taste it if it was. The burger was big. I guess that's the best compliment I can give? It was pretty bland, like just eating plain old fried hamburger. The fries were good, but a bit greasy. Despite being starving, I was pretty underwhelmed overall. Not sure I'll be back. Nothing was bad per se, but nothing was really that good either.

I have to update and drop this location a few stars. I have been here right when they open twice within the last month. I have been trained to eat around 11 to avoid crowds. When I eat somewhere for lunch, this gets me in and out. So when a place says they open at 11:00, the doors should be open at 11. Both times I came, I tried to walk in a few minutes after 11. Both times the door was locked. I looked in and watched as some of the employees just stared at me. One time, one of the employees simply shrugged his shoulders. Finally, when one unlocked the doors, he said they were not ready. One time I can let this go, two times and the management needs to get their ducks in a row. Maybe the downgrade will get the management of this place to take notice.

I love Five Guys burgers, but my review is specifically for this location. This is now the 5th time in a year that this location has screwed up our order. The employees at this location really need to work on their accuracy!!! We take our order to go and don't find out until we get home that they made it wrong! What if someone had an allergy to something they didn't want on their burger? I shouldn't have to drive all the way back to the restaurant to stand there again waiting for them to get it right the second time! I've called their manager so many times to complain that I've had enough. So here's your review Northville Five Guys!

Sixth time is the charm? My brother and I continually debate the merits of hamburger chains. He loves Five Guys, even more than In-and-Out, while I am more of a Red Robin fan. I've tried Five Guys multiple times -at an airport, in Troy and Livonia, and finally at this location. I never really understood their appeal until this last visit and previously thought their popularity was due more to hype than actual food quality. My biggest beef with the chain is the length of time from order to dinner. During previous visits to other locations (ie, not this Northville location), I was dismayed by the lack of organization and general confusion among the kitchen staff. I understand the concept that a freshly-made burger requires more time but the thin patties do not require over 20+-mins of cook time. And I think this last time, this fairly new location finally got into its groove - service was quicker than usual. The bacon cheeseburger with petit fries was delicious. Fresh and flavorful, the 3.6oz patty was topped with the usual suspects (lettuce, tomato, pickle, mayo and ketchup). The fries, one serving instead of the heaping mound, were crisp and lightly seasoned. Actually, these fries would be great for a poutine - hint, hint. One attraction is the Coke Freestyle machines. They allow guests to enjoy a wide variety of Coke products, beverage flavors that you typically do not find at the grocery store. I hope these machines catch on beyond Five Guys and Pei Wei - they are the best.

I kept hearing about this place from family and friends. This one finally opened near me and it was time to try it out. Since then I've been about 3 times, it's great. The burgers are made to order, hot and fresh. Toppings are fresh and they offer a decent variety. They also give you a shit load of fries. There's not much to the menu so if you're popping your Five Guys cherry, don't worry they'll go easy on you. It's basically just like in the name, burgers and fries. No fancy bullshit, no stupid gourmet shit with arugula. No potato strings. Nope. Just a solid burger and freedom fries. Order your fries with Cajun seasoning and you'll be in flavor heaven.

Having visited three times now, I'm not agog over this place as some are, but both the burgers and the fries are decent and no one can complain that the serving sizes are too small!

Great burgers. The "lil one" is a normal size. So if you have a appetite you get your money's worth. Place is clean, food is yum. I dont understand the whole dumping the fries loose in the bag when you get a carry out. The grease is unreal soaking through. Good customer service, cook on the spot. You can see what they are doing. I just wish they weren't always yelling all the time. They do it when People walk in", when an order is up" Lots of yelling, and noise but so yum.

FINALLY! A five guys has opened that is a reasonable distance from my home. I have heard such wonderful things about this place all over the internet, so I had been dying to try it for quite a long time. I have always been a fan of a good burger, and the fast food joints just don't do it for me. So I headed to 5 guys to see if it could live up to the hype. As you can probably guess from the 5 stars headlining this post, it VERY MUCH did live up to that hype! The first thing I noticed upon arriving is how packed it was. Apparently I am not the only one who was excited about the opening of this location. Thankfully they have a very convenient 'take a number' queue that made the process painless. The atmosphere is also pretty inviting so waiting the 5 minutes or so that it takes to receive an order is no problem! They have huge 50 lb sacks of potatoes stacked within eyesight which really completes the 'old school' style burger shack that this place attempts to emulate. If you weren't super hungry before walking in, you will be while waiting. The smell of their Cajun fry spice and delicious greasy burgers is delightfully overwhelming! Be warned that this place does *not* deal in small portions. Their regular cheeseburger comes DEFAULT with 2 patties that are the size of your average bar burger! While I am sure its delicious, that is simply too much meat for me personally, so I just ordered one of their 'small' burgers (which is just a single patty). They have a VAST quantity of toppings to choose from to truly craft the ultimate burger, but I am pretty bare-bones when it comes to mine, so I got it with only ketchup, mustard, cheese and mayo. I also decided to just go with their regular fries this time, as I wasn't sure if I would enjoy the Cajun spice they use and wanted to enjoy the first experience as much as possible. I also ordered a pop with it. The total came to a little over 11 dollars. This place is not your typical fast food joint, and the prices clearly reflect that. The staff was very friendly despite being quite busy. I thought that this was a nice change of pace from the rude fast food workers you so often run into. The first thing I noticed when I received my order, is how many fries they put in the little, grease stained, unmarked bag. I had only ordered a regular fry but there was easily as many fries as you would get with a super-sized plus a small from McDonald's. I tried the fries first and was immediately impressed. They were cooked long enough to make them soft without falling apart. They use just a hint of salt and it is perfect. Next was the main attraction; the cheeseburger! It came wrapped in foil and upon opening it, you see what a brilliant piece of packaging that foil really is. It resulted in perfectly melted, oozing cheese. The bun is very sturdy and had no trouble holding in the toppings and holding up to a big bite without crumbling or flopping. AND..IT...WAS...HEAVEN! The burger is cooked to perfection. No extra flavors or salts added to it. Just that delicious old school burger taste. You can taste all the delicious toppings and just a hint of sweetness from the bun. It went perfectly with the fries. It was everything the internet said it would be. Needless to say, that burger did not stick around long. I managed to finish the fries too, but not without quite an effort. They really are more than anyone could possibly need, but I still appreciate the gesture. If I had to come up with a con, it would be the fact that the heavy (read; greasy) burger and fries give you a strong case of the 'itis'. I was so sleepy after eating it, that I ended up taking a nap. Something I never do. Overall the experience was great and I am very excited to have it as a go to option from now on when I get that burger craving. This also would be the perfect food for someone who is intoxicated and hungry.

I ordered the burgers with bacon. Just not good. Too expensive for what you get. My daughter needed two to fill her up. She's 9 and weighs 62.... So she's not big but neither are the burgers. Great fries though. Really great.

I like Five Guys burgers there good. The French Fries are ok, for some reason they never let you get well done french fries. This location the employees were very loud when they were talking to each other. The older lady was sweeping the dining room. If anyone had any common sense, you would not be sweeping when people are eating there food, because the dust is flying in the air from the sweeping motion.

We really enjoyed the yummy burger....the atmosphere in the restaurant is your typical walk up to the counter, order, sit and wait, then pick up your order and decide to eat there or take it to go....While waiting you can eat the free peanuts that are provided at the beginning of the line. The servers were all friendly and it was fast....the grilled onions on the burger were the best..... the noise level in the restaurant made it hard to enjoy your visit. We will be back, but for a carry-out. The Fries were very yummy too.....

This is a new facility so it was clean. The noise was terrible. The staff was yelling at each other (not angrily just yelling out the orders) and the music was raucous and too loud. Together it hurt your ears. It was unnecessary noise as there were hardly any customers at 2 PM on a Thursday. There must have been 8-10 staff members just standing around doing nothing but yelling. The burger was very good but at almost $12 for a burger, small fries and small coke it was way too expensive.

One of the last times I was there couldn't help noticing that the employees were just standing around socializing with each other than paying attienon to there jobs during a slow period. When cooking my order was over cooked the first time and the second time in the same trip I had to wait for the fries, which took twice as long. By that time management didn't even bother offering a refund, just giving me more of what I didn't want, by that time my food was cold.

If you've been to Five Guys before, then you know what to expect. This place has the standard decor, service and quality. This place has the added bonus of letting your order small fries, and having a soda machine that is powered by magic. You won't be disappointed. If you've never been to Five Guys, let me describe how your first time there will go: You started an online dating profile, and finally found someone you connected with. You want to meet in person and you choose something casual before going to see a shitty romantic comedy. You meet at Five Guys and decide the place is nice and clean and worth getting a bite to eat. You enter the restaurant to classic white and red tiles and giant bags of peanuts to munch on. You order a standard bacon cheeseburger and load up on extra toppings (grilled onions, lettuce, tomato, bbq sauce, and A1), a medium order of fries, and a soda. Your date gets a little cheeseburger (with onions, extra tomato, and mayo), a small order of fries, and their own drink. You get change back for your $20 and approach the soda machine. The soda machine needs its own description. There are 145 different drinks this thing can make. Lime coke? It has it. Cherry Fanta? Has it. While this is nice in theory, I went up there 4 times personally, and 3 of the times my drink ended up tasting like jungle juice. So if you're sneaking a pint of booze into the theater later, you might want to empty some into your cup. While you're sipping your drink you can watch the swarm of Five Guys workers whip together your food. If you're lucky, your burger will be put together by the guy with 2 Harry Potter tattoos (the guy totally looks like a Hufflepuff though). Your order is up. You unwrap your regular burger and find out it is really a double. AND you have enough fries to feed 4 people. Should have ordered a small to split with your date, it would have been enough. You and your date eat everything, and then end up falling asleep halfway through the previews. You go on 2 or 3 more dates before deciding you aren't right for each other. The best part about this Five Guys, that is unique to this location, is you get to watch all the suckers that head into Qdoba for an entirely unsatisfying meal.

I've never had Five Guys before and have heard great things about it, so when I saw that a location was opening up so close to my home I got excited. It's been at this location for over a month and I've been three times. It's a solid place for a quick bite to eat on a budget. They also have the option for the gluten-free to get your burger bunless. I've done it everytime I've gone and it's delicious. Everything is fresh and made to order, and I love the open kitchen concept so i can see them freshly making my burger and fresh cut fries. One thing to know ahead of time before you order your meal is the portion size of the fries are MASSIVE. If it's just you I'd op for the small side and if you're sharing with one other person I'd still opt for the next size up. We made the mistake of ordering a large fry for 2 of us and ended up with a portion size that could feed a family of 4.

I thought this place had a better cheeseburger than in-n-out burger in California. The fries are deep fried in peanut oil so they don't taste like traditional greasy fries. If you have a peanut allergy be careful!

Stopped for lunch today while my car was in the shop. Not only was the food good, but this might be the NICEST crew of folks that I've ever encountered at a restaurant. As I was leaving, one of the guys ran from behind the counter to get the door for a parent with one in arms and bent down to high-five the toddler. The entire crew was just that nice, and the manager was flipping burgers and mopping floors right alongside everyone. Cheerful and clearly everyone was happy to work there, and it showed. It makes me happy to patronize a place that not only has great food and good service, but that treats it's employees well and encourages them to treat customers well.
