The chicken Shawarma is outstanding. My wife had the pita bowl and said it was excellent. We love the blue grill!

I got a salad and hummus I was kinda disappointed it cost me 14 dollars... I didn't get meat or anything extra on my salad either and I was sad they didn't offer a garlic hummus but they had many other options

The best part about blue grill is that I can stuff my face and not feel guilty about it!! Great food, very healthy and delicious flavors. Could use more help during the weekday lunch rush, but worth the wait!!!

I'd give them 5 stars but the spicy couscous was very acidic and stinging. But everything else was delicious! I had the pita bowl with falafel, rice, hummus, parsley, peppers and tomato. Everything tasted fresh (except the couscous) and the staff were super friendly and take pride in their food. When we mentioned the acidity they were very understanding and gave us grape leaves and potato to be nice. We like it here and will be back

Always happy after eating here. The quality of the food is great and so fresh and flavorful. Multiple varieties of humus including the Red Pepper Humus and Guacamole Hummus, yum! Shawarma's are my absolute favorite. When you dine in you receive Pita Chips and Hummus with your entree. Prices are reasonably too.

Pretty good food. I wasn't expecting the Subway style food service, but I can see that working well for lunch crowds. I had the bulgar wheat bowl with lamb/beef kafta. What was really a hamburger patty was very tender and nicely seasoned. The vegetables were diced too big too eat comfortably, but everything was fresh and the bulgar wheat was tender, too. My wife got the chicken schwarma wrap. The large pieces of vegetables made that even more awkward to eat, but it was still pretty good. All in all, not a place I would visit frequently, but somewhere I might stop by if I was in Milford and craved Mediterranean food.

We occasionally dine in Milford, its close by, and there is a decent churn of restaurants. The Blue Grill was a nice surprise and a change for traditional dining in Milford. It is Mediterranean, but Vegetarians could easily be satisfied too. The food is fresh and prepared as you select it (sort of the Subway approach to building your sandwich), The menu is is pretty basic - salad or pita, veggie, chicken or beef/lamb. Then pick you topping, sauces and sides. I went with the Fattoush salad and the wife had the Chicken Shawarma pita. Both items for plentiful and flavorful. The staff was friendly and helpful. Probably the only issue the only water was bottled, not sure if that's because Milford's water can be funky.

Terrible service. Completely disorganized and out of some menu options. Won't be back.

Stopped in a few nights ago after visiting my chiropractor down the street. After a polite lesson on how to order I got the chicken shawarma wrap with a side of hummus and chips and my wife got the chicken shawarma bowl. I got plenty of stuff on my wrap so it seemed to be worth the price. BIG problem was with the chicken. It came out of a warming tray and ended up being dry and flavorless. The chips were good but were all pieces from the bottom of the tub, not very easy to dip with. Hummus was good but nothing special. Would have ordered a bottle of pop but at 2.50 it was not necessary. My wife added a lot of stuff to her salad and at 9 bucks she needed to. Her chicken came right off of the spit and it was tender and moist. Big difference from mine. This is not a go to place in my book unless you happen to be in Milford and everything else is closed. Keep posting and maybe I will change my mind.

Being one of the few gluten free options in Milford, I decided to give this place a shot. The rice bowl was delicious! Everything was fresh. The only reason why it's not 5 stars is they are understaffed. If you get into line behind someone with a large order, you will be there a while. Other than that, I love it and go often!

This review is based on one single visit, so I reserve the right to raise or lower the star level as I see fit based on subsequent visits. To my knowledge, this is pretty much "it" for Middle Eastern when it comes to the Milford area. As such, it's sort of a "we've got you" experience if you're wanting good, garlicky ME food and you're in the area. To that end, it's actually pretty nice. I'd be lying if I said it was a bargain, but as a savvy diner, you can find some pretty significant discounts to make the place more than affordable...it can actually be a bargain! The quality and freshness of the chicken shawarma bowl I had was very, very good. The garlic sauce stands on its own, and I'm pretty picky (but I fully acknowledge that I'm kind of a slave to garlic, too). I really appreciated that they pickle all of their own vegetables, and it comes through in the taste of them. There's really a *ton* of things you can pick from to make your bowl good both in terms of taste and nutrition. While eating ME food is usually pretty healthy, the selection here sort of ups it a notch in my book. I felt like I was honestly being "good", and that's kind of a rare thing for me while eating out. Service was very accommodating and earnest, and the place does have sort of a learning curve when it comes to ordering. It's pretty odd, but it's also odd in a good way, if you take my meaning. If you're stuck behind an idiot who can't figure out what they want, you may be in a world of hurt...because the choices are myriad. That being said, knowing what you want ahead of time (by looking first!) and perhaps knowing what you may want to try may save both you and everyone else a whole bunch of time and frustration. If you're leery, try coming at an off hour (I did) and you should have plenty of time to peruse, ask questions, try a thing or two, and put together something really good and tasty without driving everyone else in line insane. Again: discounts are available, and with that, I felt the price-to-product ratio (service and cleanliness are included in that) was very fair. If I were buying at full menu price, I agree: it might chafe a bit, especially when you throw a beverage into the mix. However, I'm usually good with water, and I liked my overall experience here, as well as what I paid to get it. It may not be perfect (nothing is), but my initial impression was that it's not too shabby at all. I'll certainly be going back at least twice more when I'm in the area, and giving them the chance to endear themselves further. As it stands, if you're going to be stranded in Milford and you're hungry/dying for ME food, you don't have to "settle" by going here. It's better than I thought it would be!

Had an Amazon local deal, Good, freshly prepared middle Eastern food served here. We had the shish tawook, fatoosh salad with hummus on the side. They have several flavours of hummus available - guac, garlic and labneh, etc. The service is cafeteria style and you can eat in or dine out. They have a main dining room right up front or a private room in the back. Reasonable prices and quick service. They are quite busy at lunch and are not accepting Groupons, or Amazon local deals during this time. I wish that would be stated in advance. We will return - the food is delicious.

I previously didn't care for the Blue Grill. The interior of the restaurant is somewhat dirty; it has a very subway-like feel; and the food was inconsistent. However, they've come a long way, and their food shines above all of Blue Grill's flaws. Don't go to the Blue Grill if you're looking for a picture-perfect atmosphere; go there if you want fresh Mediterranean food that rivals some of the best Mediterranean in Dearborn and the rest of Metro Detroit. At Blue Grill, hummus is made to order, pita chips are baked daily, and juices are squeezed to order behind a transparent-glass counter. The food at Blue Grill is superb. It's more of a lunch place, so come here around lunchtime and get delicious food for a good price. As I said, the restaurant is slightly worn, unkept and in need of a remodel, but they put their emphasis on making delicious made-to-order food, as a restaurant should.

We go here on a regular basis and love it! The food is fresh, good and filling. If you go in the evening, the sun is very bright and there aren't any shades or screens to shield your eyes. The juicing drinks are really good but the servings are kinda small. Overall it's a good change of pace from the usual.

I go here almost every week, and I really enjoy the food. The service has been pretty good. They can get pretty busy around lunch time so try to get there early, there was an occasion where they ran out of the falafel due to the rush, but they started us off with our pita chips so we could begin eating while we waited for them to make fresh falafel.

The food is always fresh. The staff is nice. Great humus & probably one of the best shawarmas around.

After receiving a rather jerkish message from the owner of this establishment, I reserve the right to change my review from a 3 star to a 1 star. Thanks guy.

  • Kevin N.

I guess the guy who I thought was the owner wasn't actually the owner. There was some weird Facebook announcement about him leaving earlier in the year. Since then, the overall quality has really dropped, and everything seems overly salty. I'm not really sure why, but considering how wonderfully complex the flavors used to be, it's a sore disappointment.

This restaurant is great! Fresh food, amazing Mediterranean flavors, and I love that I can watch them build my meal! Their fattoush is to die for, and the garlic sauce is the best! I could go on and on about blue grill! Just love it! Only downside, i have to drive to Milford to eat here. I wish I had something like this where I live!!!

The food here is always fresh and it's a great place to grab a wrap or salad. My only complaint is that they are very stingy with their feta. I'll ask for feta and it's always hidden and not just out as an easy option to choose. They will give you just a little bit of feta and then when I ask for more, I am told that they will need to charge me extra. It's annoying enough to keep me from going more frequently. Also, the hummus is just okay. It's not as good as many other middle eastern restaurants in the Detroit area but it's fine inside my wrap.

Great diverse addition to the Milford restaurant scene. The instructional introduction upon arrival is a great help. It was simple to order after that. The food is fresh and well prepared. The choices are simple and healthy, quite a change to the other food you find in Milford. I had the Chicken Shawarma sandwich with just about everything that would fit on a pita, then heated. It was very good! My wife had the Steak(Ribeye)-Lamb Shawarma and loved it. Like others have said, get the Garlic Sauce! Give it a try at least, I think you'll love it too.

Fresh healthy food, great shawarma sandwiches and salads. Quick service for lunch or dinner, eat in or carry out. Very friendly staff that will give you a sample before you decide. The trouble is, if you sample more then one item, your decision is no easier as its all very good. I guess that's why everyone returns. Check them out.

My husband and I stopped in during the summer and we were so surprised! The food was really fresh and just what we needed instead of a typical hamburger. The falafel are so fresh and take like my mom would have made them. If you love arabic and Mediterranean food, you must try!!

I've eaten at the Blue Grill several times. It's been excellent each time. The ingredients are fresh, very tasty and the kitchen if most often overseen by the owner himself. The staff is friendly and eager to answer any questions you have about the food, which is still foreign to a lot of us Middle Americans, LOL. I highly recommend the Classic Chicken Shawarma with the rice bowl. Let them put a touch of garlic sauce in there along with your choice of veggies (I love the onions, cucumbers, lettuce and tomatoes). The last time I had this, the tomatoes were so fresh they must have been grown in someone's garden. They advertise the Chicken Shawarma as fire-roasted and seasoned with Mediterranean spices. The combination of the sauce with the chicken and fresh veggies offers a great, healthy alternative to the usual burger lunch. The Ground Beef and Lamb Kebab were also fresh, grilled just right (moist and not overdone) and served with a generous portion. Again, delicious. Don't worry about service, its order as you go in and then sit down. The only worry I have about this place is that it's probably primarily a lunch crowd joint and I'm not sure with all the competition in Milford that this place will generate enough revenue to make it. I hope so, because this place has quickly become one of my favorite stops for lunch and like I said...offers the best alternative around for a fast, healthy lunch! By all means, try them!

My husband I love this food. We get a rice bowl and share it because it's so much food! Everything is fresh and the service has always been very friendly. We also love their juice (would love seeing some fresh beets at the juice bar though).

Blue grill is great. I would not listen to the bad reviews. I've eaten there many times, and the food has always been delicious, and the staff has always been friendly. They have amazing shawarma, and their red pepper hummus is the best around.

Not a fan! Ordered Beef shawarma, beef was consistency and size of bacon bits. Grape Leaves were cold and all you could taste was rice. Nothing special, not worth going back to.

My fiancé and I came to Blue Grill during Milford Memories. I choose the Beef shawarma with tahini sauce and filled with rice and veggies. I was very impressed with the tenderness and flavor of the beef which was trimmed right off the skewer. the tahini sauce was potent but delicious, and the veggies were fresh and seasoned well. Probably top 3 beef shawarma I have ever had! My fiancé got the fattoush salad with House Dressing which was good. It is subway style and it fits more as a lunch, very casual dinner spot, and carry-out spot. If I were to be critical it would be the the speed and organization of the process. Comparing to subway, which is obviously a well tested and successful model, each employee knows their job duty and the assembly line works well. Especially with long lines. In my experience I observed a a bit of disorganization and my sandwich sat unattended for a few minutes during transition between workers. Downfall: no soda machine. I cannot really comment on prices since they were changed for the event. I can't wait to return to see the full menu and try the hummus and others. Highly recommended!!

Oh this pains me to have to write this and only be 3 stars. I have been here three times. Each time a little worse than the first. So here they are one at a time. 1. Enter in through the rear about 7pm. mid week. Nice entrance, clean and wonderful smells. My first time in I was lucky enough to have been greeted by the chef/owner? He was very kind helpful and informative. He gave samples and explained the some what confusing process of how and what to order. I ordered a salad with chicken and LOADED that baby up. I couldn't believe how much I could add to it for the same price. I had grape leaves, hummus, garlic sauce, turnips, onions, parsley, peppers etc. It was delicious and the price was about 6 bucks and some change can't remember exactly but I was blown away at what a great deal it was and how tasty it was. When I left this day I would have been at 5 stars. 2. Go in for a second time mid week and know exactly what I want. The same delicious salad I had last time. Crew was two young men, they were helpful and kind albeit very slow. For the most part even my second experience was good. Salad was as good as I remembered. My only knock would have been slow service, until check out. So I ordered the same salad as last time and this time it was about 7.50 ish. No biggie still a great bang for the buck. Then I get to the car and they guy I went with, who ordered the same salad as me, paid even a different price than me. Not sure what's going on with the pricing. When I left this day it would have been 4 stars just based on slow service and inconsistencies. Still no food quality issues. 3. This visit is the one that drove me to yelp. Saturday night about 630, two young girls behind counter. More busy than any other time I had been there, no surprise there though. So of course I was going for the great salad it hasn't done me wrong and what a value.... So first thing i notice is a different smaller carry-out container. It's ok though it was plenty big enough still. Just noticed the change. Then I order a chicken salad. I saw the cooking chicken skewer behind the counter and it looked yummy! But the chicken I got was the ol burnt chicken, literally burnt, scraped up from the warming pan. I didn't say anything because I was pressed on time and thought hey maybe a nice char on the chicken will be tasty and it was. As we go down the "subway" style line, nothing is prepped and almost everything is empty. No chopped tomato's, no onions, no grape leaves, no falafel, things were looking pretty bare. Where is the prep cook to help these poor girls? The radishes that were in the cooler were so nasty I wouldn't feed them to a rabbit. They were dried crusty and just nasty looking. I really wanted the onions so i did ask if they had more. The cashier then said "I just need to go in back and get some". So she comes back with two whole onions and proceeds to cut them right there. Meanwhile there is a building line behind me and the cashier/server is prepping onions, no excuse for this. So I don't know what happened when she went in back but I do know she had just handled a lot of cash and came out gloveless and attempted to chop the onion. Her knife skills were very bad, she definitely is not culinary staff and I felt bad for her having to do this when they were busy. No knock on her at least she was trying. I'd like to think she washed her hands back there but I have no way of telling. So after she kind of chopped the onions she placed them in a rinsed out bowl, yes I watched the dirty bowl get "rinsed" out in the sink behind the register. she throws the onion in the bowl with the SKIN STILL ON half of them. She then proceeds to put the seasoning on it and THEN dons her gloves to mix it all together. After that she puts damn near the whole onions skin and all right on top of that salad. Whatever, at this point I'm just ready to get back home peel the onion and eat the salad. So i cash out and....... this time it's almost 9 bucks and there is an "extra meat" charge! Unreal I have no clue what's up with the pricing there. This place has a lot of potential in my opinion there needs to be some major changes. If that was the owner/chef my first time in, he needs to be there all the time. It ran smooth when he was there and there didn't seem to be any quality issues. The pricing really either needs to be more clear on the menu or at least be consistent. For me to go in there times, get the same salad and pay three different prices with a variance of almost 4 dollars is absolutely unacceptable. Again the food flavors are amazing and it pains me to write this but I hope the owner sees this and takes action to correct. I have worked in restaurants for years and eat out often. I have never written a review before but felt it was time. Honestly my last visit was a 1 star but based on my previous visits I think Blue Grill is a 3 star now with potential to move up or down based on what happens with staff/ QC issues. I hope...

I used to love Blue Grill - good, fresh food! I've been in twice in the past month and man it is dirty! The floors (both times) have had a nasty film on them. Tables aren't wiped down after customers leave. The last time I ordered a beef wrap & the beef was super dry and lacked flavor. The last two times have been in the evening (high school staffed at 6:30) maybe the food has sat long. The staff is nice enough but the filth I can't handle. I'll peek in from time to time to see if it improves. So bummed.

Family turned us on to this Mediterranean gem in Milford. Some of our favorites were the beef/lamb schwarma, falafel, guaca-hummus, and most of all Chef Steve who was a most gracious host!

Blue Grill is delicious and fresh. I usually get a chicken pita with all sorts of yummy goodies. I do not like that pita chips and hummus are included when I dine in, but not when I take out. It is easier to take out and I wish the value were the same. Still a favorite in our house though.
