Moe's Southwest Grill is a wonderful surprise. The venue is a overhauled drug store and they have made a wonderful use of the space including changing the nature of the space into a restaurant. The food prep area was highly organized and linear. Everything was clean and all employees were friendly and wearing proper equipment for their stations. The lead was bright and very friendly and made a fantastic first impression, and kudos to his endurance since he was keeping it up constantly. The food quality is exceptional and they make bold claims about the source of their proteins, which makes the price justified. The seating area is surprisingly ample and and lead made regular trips from food prep into the dining area and back to food prep cheerleading the whole time. The only ding I can spot is that they have only one CleverCoke machine leading to customer queue buildup for drinks. I was pleasantly surprised and this restaurant has eliminated their competition, Panchero's, Qdoba, and Chipotle.

Went here for lunch today, was VERY impressed. Menu/line service at first a bit intimidating, but now that I know what's there, will be easy the next time, and there definitely will be many next times! Moe's absolutely tops Qdoba and Big Burrito. I had the pulled pork burrito with almost everything on it. The portion was huge and leftovers will feed me at least one more meal. Everything was very fresh, and I loved the salsa bar, especially the tomatillo salsa! Obviously freshly made. The pork was excellent, moist, very lean. Others with me also enjoyed the fish, chicken and steak. I guess my one request would be for one Hot salsa (all were medium or mild). This is a fast-food place that is absolutely above the rest of its kind, and the only reason I don't give 5 stars is....not for "fast food."

Pretty good. Pretty, pretty, pretty...pretty good. I enjoyed the food without being blown away. The staff is friendly and the place was clean, and my 2 year old enjoyed jumping on the bench seats and climbing on the tables. All was well. I liked that they had a pop culture theme without going overboard. The menu was straightforward and it was easy for me to choose what I wanted. The titles of the entrees were references to many pop culture phrases. A few from Seinfeld (Art Vandalay, Close Talker), some from movies (Earmuffs - Old School; Ruprict - Dirty Rotten Scoundrels; Julia Gulia - Wedding Singer, to name a few), and other shenanigans. I ordered the earmuffs, a naked burrito, with steak. The kids split a cheese quesadilla (with tomatoes added for the illusion of good health for my conscience), and we all ate chips and salsa to our hearts content. I like that it came with guacamole instead of it being extra. They were out of the other kind of rice (white?) so I had the seasoned rice. I have to compare the meal with Qdoba, and the two major differences are the meat and the rice. The meat is more tender than Qdoba, although I like the flavor at Qdoba better. I like the seasoned rice, but wonder if there was a bit too much salt. All in all, it was different enough from the other southwestern chain and tasty enough for a repeat visit. There were 5 salsas to choose from the salsa bar; we stuck with the two mild options, as the kids are wussies. (Come on, they are 8, 5, and 2.) The tomatillo salsa is a pretty spicy mild, but I preferred the taste of the southwest option. Unlike other salsa bars (Sharkey's in Long Beach, CA comes to mind), this southwestern mild salsa was not overly smoky, which is a good thing. The boys enjoyed the selection of soda from the machine, and tried to mix all of the flavors together. I limited them to caffeine free only, as it was already after 5pm. I can easily recommend this for a dependable meal and a departure from other southwestern fare. And the booth seats are toddler bouncing approved. :-)

Ran out of chicken at 1pm on Monday so we had to wait 5 minutes for some of our food. All the open tables were dirty. Ice machine had no ice. But... Food was good as always. Service was also friendly. I think with 2 more people working the lunch shift they'd be all set.

Fair priced, fair portioned college food. This is a Qdoba / Chipotle knock off. The winning factor is a "junior" sized burrito offering and free chips with a salsa bar. The junior burrito is more than enough for one person. Fast service and decent food on our visit today.

The food is delicious but don't go expecting friendly service. They were fast but we felt like we were bothering them by ordering. The usual "welcome to Moe's!" When you walk in was mumbled and we didn't get one smile or even a glance. Being in management in food service before... Not cool to treat any customer like that. The staff at the Westnedge is usually friendlier and the food is just as yummy.

This compares favorably to the similar chains (Qdoba, Chipotle) in a few ways: Some toppings you can't get elsewhere, like tofu, mushrooms, fresh jalapeno. Entrees (or at least burritos) come with a side of chips There is a self-service salsa bar The Smart Coke dispenser thing is kind of a cool gimmick, but it means backups for refills because it can only serve one customer at a time and they will stare at the touch-screen menu for 30 seconds trying to figure out how to use it. Every time someone walks in the staff shouts "WELCOME TO MOE'S!!!!!". Luckily the new location's staff still seems enthusiastic about their new jobs and it comes off well, but it might be really annoying after a few visits.

I have to start this review by saying I'm pretty loyal. If I've worked for you or have used your services for a long time, I am likely to be a lifelong fan. That said, this place came to town a little late in the burrito game for me. There is nothing wrong with this place. It's just very similar to other burrito places in town and Qdoba claimed my heart a long time ago. You will find your standard Mexican fare- burritos, tacos, quesadillas, salads, etc. What is different here? Free chips and salsa! There is a salsa bar with about 6 different varieties that you serve yourself. You get chips with your meal. An employee visited my table once and offered to get me more chips. I upgraded my meal to include a drink and queso. I thought the queso was very good. Would I recommend this place? Sure. Will I be coming back? Probably not. But that is only because I would feel bad cheating on Qdoba. Check it out for yourself and make your own judgement!

I have eaten here several times and I have been suggesting it to people as well. The food is good and plentiful. I usually get a burrito of some kind and if I get the large I always have leftovers. I love the salsa bar with a variety of salsas. The food comes with chips in a bag and you will never go hungry. One thing I have found in agreement with others. When they roll their burritos the ingredients all get mixed nicely. I am glad that they have moved into town and like their food better than their competetors. Families would probably enjoy this place as well.

Fruit flies galore. The food looked like it had been sitting out all day. There were fruit flies all around the salsa buffet and they followed us to the table. Not good. Won't go back.

We used Moe's in Kalamazoo to cater our wedding. Moe's food is great but their service for our reception was less than desirable. The food was delivered with no heat sources on a cool, windy day. Our guests had a cold taco bar. A guest called and the GM showed up an hour and a half later with chips and queso which was not going to cut it. We did end up getting half off and a sincere apology. We appreciated that they wanted to make it right. I do love their food but make sure catering orders are going to be delivered appropriate for the conditions.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
