Over the top. That's about the only way to describe this place's food options. Service was a bit wonky, hence there's no 5 stars here, but the owner was profusely apologetic for mistakes made and comped our meal as a result of some issues the kitchen was having with getting orders out. Once we got our food, it was A+, and frankly, the menu item cost was well worth it at full price. Had a table of 7 total and we had two sticky burgers and 5 salads. The salads were massive, and the sticky burgers lived up to their namesake. I'll definitely be back.

During Lent, can't beat Cajun shrimp and steak cut calamari from Night Lights. Service was friendly and attentive. Shocked bartenders did a shot with a patron. A little tacky. Hopefully it's not her first shot though and she forgets to add that last beer to my bill. :) Still a solid choice for downtown drinks.

Food was good but worst service ever! Took forever to take our order. Once our food arrived she asked if we wanted anything we told her what we needed and she never brought. After 5 min of waiting for catsup we got up and went and got our own. Ten minutes later she came and apologized for forgetting it and walked away completely ignored out empty beers. We watched her go outside and smoke as a kitchen employee brought us boxes for our food. Finally she came back and asked if we wanted anything and we told her the checks. It's been ten minutes still no checks to cash out so we can leave and go get something to drink somewhere else because we are dying of thirst! Now she is talking to another employee at the bar and we just want to leave!

Practically the epitome of a hole-in-the-wall dive bar, minus the little bits of charm and personality to make it worthwhile. The jukebox is the best part here, and most of the time the music is alternative kitsch, like Flight of the Conchords type of stuff, which I totally dig, but the atmosphere is very plain and borderline unsanitary. People here usually seem bored to me... I've noticed a lot of people just sitting in silence which makes Night Light feel more like a restaurant than a bar. Reflecting back on my past visits, I liken Night Light to hanging out at a collegiate male's apartment... There's beer, wobbly stools, awkward conversations, decent tunes, and microwaved appetizers.

Giving this place one star because I'm not allowed to give zero stars. Walked into the bar, sat down, and was greeted 10 minutes later by a not-so-nice looking waitress. She didn't introduce herself and asked us what we wanted. She left and instead of filling our drink orders she proceeded to have multiple off topic conversations with co workers and patrons. We got our drinks and after 10 more minutes had to flag down a different waitress to take our order. She was less bitchy but still not very pleasant. She took our orders and our food came in a timely matter except for one of the people in our group. He then asked when his food would arrive and she immediately snapped back and said "be patient we didn't forget about you" (what server brings out everyone's food except for one person) by the way, he ordered chicken strips... Pretty simple. Anyways. We all had finished our food and our friend still had not received his food after 25 minutes. No waitress in sight and also we needed drink refills all around. She then came to our table and said nothing of the missing food. When asked what happened to it she mumbled under her breath something rude. Not once. But twice. I asked her to speak up for a third time and she very rudely told me that I, the customer was being rude and that the kitchen had closed and forgot to fill the order. Turned out to be a lie because 10 minutes later she brought out his food in a box. Horrible place, horrible service, mediocre food and not to mention college-aged music.

I was born in Philadelphia and raised in the Philly/Baltimore corridor. I say that only to share that the Steak Sub here is the best try at a Philly Cheese Steak that I have encountered in Michigan. Nice!!

Food was Fantastic! Mary, our waitress and owner, really made us feel welcome. I had the Cheese steak and couldn't have been happier. My wife had the Turkey Reuben on pretzel bread and loved it. Portions were huge and the prices were very reasonable. I can't wait to go back.

Very comfortable neighborhood bar. We had sandwiches and a burger and all were tasty. Affordable food. Beer was pricey, $4 for a 20 oz domestic draft. In this area that's sky high. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here but if you are in the area, a solid choice.

Small local establishment in downtown Jackson =). Clean, pleasant staff and excellent food! If you're from the east side, then you'll understand what I mean when I say their burgers are right up there with SideTracks in Ypsilanti, and Red Coat Tavern in Royal Oak. If you're in the area you need to check this place out.

Night Light was smoke free from the beginning and I love them for that. Not only do they get a five star review and my respect for that, their food is amazing. The service can be slow because they have a small kitchen, but it is well worth the wait. OH! And the bathrooms....one of the best parts are the unique bathrooms....no joke. If you haven't been there, be sure to visit both.

Night Light is always a great time. The staff is amazing and attentive, somehow managing to give you great service while the place is packed every night. The drinks are great. Reasonably price in large glasses. None of this chain crap where the glasses get smaller and the prices get higher. They also have an impressive list of drafts. The best part is the food. Everything I have had there has been great, though I am partial to the Gyro. A little messy but tastes great. The portions are large and the prices are great. My husband and I were there not too long ago, we had an appetizer, each a sandwich and fries, he had a tall beer and I had a margarita, our total came to about $35. Ton of food for a great price. Also worth note is on many nights there are great live bands so make sure to check the schedule!

Awesome SMOKE FREE atmosphere. The food is unbelievable, the price is right, and the staff are fun and engaging. The best in Jackson!
