I am a coney lover in the Flint tradition. That said, I love all coney places and have a new resolution to visit (and yelp!) every one in Michigan I can find. This is my first stop on that journey. The decor and ambiance is perfect. Prints of Elvis and Marilyn Monroe hanging slightly skewed on the wall along with newspaper clipping and about Jackson Coney and Jackson history. Tables and countertops are shiny stainless steel - very cool! The service was quick and friendly! Ordered the usual (two with everything) and was not disappointed. Buns were nicely steamed. Dogs were not natural casing and lacked that 'snap', but tasted fine. Meat sauce has a little less paprika than I'm used to, but it was good too. Onions were finely cut and very sweet. THIS IS A TRUE CONEY. Overall, this place is everything you'd expect and I loved it!

Really a Jackson tradition here. It's located in an older building right in front of the train station and next door to a tobacco shop and strip club. Your preference of coneys will determine what you think of their's. If you like the runny type that is similar to a chili dog then you won't like this. If you're like me and enjoy real coney meat that is hearty then you'll love their's. They serve an authentic coney the way they should be made, topped with their authentic coney topping, raw onion, and mustard. They use Koegel hotdogs as well. The new owners have also added some specialty hot dogs to the menu in addition to the traditional Jackson style coney. Chicago Dog, Swiss Dog, etc....I haven't tried any but they'd be good options for out of towners that don't like Jackson style coneys. Their breakfast menu is traditional of most coney islands. They've remodeled the place but it still has the nostalgic design to it. The one knock I have on the changes that the new owners have made is that they now will not serve breakfast past 11AM. I've never heard of a coney island restaurant doing this and frankly most of the people I've talked to about it aren't pleased about it. They still put out a solid coney.

One my favorite places to eat in Jackson, and a landmark in the city nonetheless! It's as delicious as it is terrible for you, but a "must stop" if you have never been.

This place has the best coneys in Jackson. Fair prices. Order to go and you won't have to hang out with Jackson's finest.

The food was decent and vert affordable. I got two hot dogs and a fountain pop for $5.06 including tax. I'm a fan of the Detroit-style coney, so I was a little disappointed in their sauce. It tasted ok, but was very dry and more like a pile of ground beef on top of the hot dog than actual chili. I also tried a pizza dog expecting it to have cheese melted on top of it...like a pizza. Instead it had cold slices of cheese stuck in the bun next to the hot dog. Like the coney, it tasted decent, but it's not something I'd be jumping to order again.

A Jackson institution and a great place to get a traditional, Jackson-style Coney right on Michigan Ave by the train station.

So this was it! I finally got to taste the famous coney dogs in Michigan. And in the little town of Jackson. The place is vintage. I think it's kept that way. It was packed but we got a table as we walked in. We got coney dogs with "everything on it" and some chips and fries. These juicy hotdogs are more like Vienna sausage taste to me and I loved the finely minced onions and "just beef" meat sauce. Not a tomato-based sauce. Great food! The only bad thing was the salad. After having a convo about how this town don't get fresh veggies all the time had actually scared me from eating my salad. Other than that,it was a very exciting dining experience! Friendly people!

Classic Coney Island with a lot of history. The Chicago Dog was awesome! The regular Coney dogs have chopped Coney meat on them, not a juicy red meat sauce, but just chopped Coney meat. That was new to me, but really good. The onion rings and chocolate malts are the bomb too!

Have loved this place since I was a kid. As a teen, I'd eat 6 coneys at a sitting. The service is super friendly. Prices are extremely low. The coney's taste as great as ever. If you want to step into a friendly diner and get plenty for your money, this is the place.
