I'm not kidding--this is the mecca of fast food possibilities. This is our "go to" spot when we venture up north. The service here is GREAT. The people genuinely seem to care about the customers that come in. The food was prepared well, served hot and carefully. Want to know something else? The tables and the bathrooms were clean. Yeah. For real. Check it out.

This was the best place to eat in Gaylord and in my mind, northern Michigan. The food and atmosphere was great every time we went there. New owners have purchased it and is now called Bennithumns. It still has great food.

My boyfriend's family has a cottage in Gaylord, and any time we come up, I try to eat at Inn the Woods at least 2 or 3 times. Upscale dining- the food is quite good. But what I really come for is the hot fudge brownie sundae. I don't know how they make such a simple dessert better than anyone else, but nobody makes it the way they do here. Every spoonful is bliss- if I chose my last meal on earth, it would end with the Michaywe hot fudge brownie sundae.
Four of us dined at Inn the Woods AGAIN and we weren't disappointed. We ate here last year and drove 30 minutes to dine here this trip. The bread was quite good, as were our soup and salad. We had the perch, pasta with veggies and chicken and lasagna special and everyone was very pleased. Our server was wonderful and we had a lovely evening.
The food, service and ambience were wonderful. I would have given them 5 stars except for the fact that we made our reservation on their website, which apparently they don't use because they had no knowledge of our reservation when we arrived. We will return because the food was so good, but we won't be using the on-line reservation service. They need to either take down the on-line reservations, or start checking it frequently.

Awesome breakfast. Very good prices. Its what I expected from a small town restraunt. I had an omlet which was cooked perfectly and was fairly good size. The american fries/hash browns were very good. Homemade toast was also very good. For sure its a good spot for breakfast.
Excellent simple and delicious turkey dinner. Also, service was excellent and extremely friendly. However, the Raspberry Cream Pie was the best slice of pie I have ever had. Get it a la mode. Will definitely be back here when I am back in town.
Wonderful staff and tasty food. I brought a group of teens from Ann Arbor and everyone was impressed with the quality of the dishes. The raspberry cream pie was fresh and tasted heavenly.

Every time I'm taking a road trip somewhere in Michigan or Wisconsin, I stalk Culver's. We waited a good hour to eat because we were waiting for one to show up on the yelp phone app. LAME! I know. But it's always worth the wait and the extra planning, because, as I talked about in the review of the other Culver's I visited semi-recently, it's just beyond anything you'd expect from "fast food." Clean bathrooms, extraordinarily nice folks, great tasting grub, frozen custard ... need I go on!??!? Culver's is one of the things I truly miss about living in Wisconsin!
The food at this Culver's is as good as any other. Crisp fries, well-cooked burgers and creamy custard. Truly decent fast food. Today, however, I was truly impressed by the service - when we entered the restaurant the place was completely full. We placed our orders and found an (already clean!) table. Within five minutes, our order was delivered! It was a very pleasant surprise for the amount of people in the building.
This was my first time at a culvers after seeing them pop up all over the state. I guess I have nothing bad to say for the burgers were good along with the shake and fries combo. Value is definitely there for the agile combo was under $10. In fact the party of four adults was under $40. Food was delivered quickly though they forgot a burger that was done but did not fit on tray so when went up front they did have. Best part that all were impressed the most by was dessert. They have many many to choose from and all reasonably priced. Might not go out of my way, but if in mood someday for dessert or a quick meal this place has made the list.

It's a Thai place, so as everyone knows you don't go there for Chinese, it won't be like authentic Chinese though I hear some like it. Now Thai food, it is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!! I'm from the Detroit area and grew up off the best authentic Thai food down there, and this place matches it! And yes, they use fresh food! I'm actually definitely going there today, can't wait! I come here time and time again. You have to stop by for their lunch buffets, they don't skimp on ingredients or quality like other places. They also care about their customers, and it shows. I've heard him over talking to his tax guy or something about their frequent visitors and how much they appreciate their business. Made me feel really good about being there and knowing they want me there, and not just about the money but customer satisfaction.
My family and I were driving by Gaylord and looking for someplace unusual to eat lunch on a Friday afternoon. Consulted Yelp and we ended up here. I agree it was a bit hard to find (being in a strip mall) but once inside we were pleasantly surprised. Noting too fancy decor-wise but nice enough. Service was friendly and prompt. We all had the egg drop soup, maybe the best we've had anywhere. Also got the appetizer sampler and it didn't disappoint either. My daughter had the drunken noodles which she liked a lot and, while I can't exactly remember what my wife had, I do remember she liked it too. Now to my dish, curry beef (which may not be the actual name of the dish ... I've slept since then so give me a break). I had a choice of heat (none, medium or hot) and decided to tempt the fates with medium. Bad choice! After 2 bites my tongue went num and after 3 more it started to hurt! I pushed through it slowly and from what I could taste, it was pretty good. I will credit the waitress with asking about me when she noticed my discomfort and being honestly surprised at how spicy the food was. She thought it may have been the fresh peppers they had just received, that the kitchen misjudged the amount. Honestly, I blame myself for taking the risk in the first place. All I can say is, if you've never ordered a spicy dish there, be careful! Overall we really did like it a lot. We'll be back and I'll be a little more cautious, too!
Had dinner tonight, service was good , food average at best! Lots of vegetables very little meat!

"Crunch a munch, crunch a munch, crunch a munch, crunch a munch...Fritos on my sub!" What a genius and catchy jingle! Ever since I started singing the jingle to my hubs, whenever I had the song stuck in my head (which was probably 5 times a day for a few days), my hubs suggested that we give it a shot. So on our way up north, we located this Subway, which happens to be inside the super-walmart (on the far right entrance). This is by far the nicest subway I've ever been to and quite possibly nicer than solo subway stores. Not sure if it was because the ceilings were higher and the walls were more colorful, but overall it was a very nice place to enjoy a sandwich. Since we were driving most of the day, I figured I should eat somewhat healthy, so I ordered a 6-inch turkey breast on wheat, which was okay. The one thing I like about subway is, no matter what location you go to, in whatever state/city, you always expect it to taste the same and it did. My hubs ordered the chicken enchilada melt, that came with pre-made chicken and enchilada sauce, a whole bag of Fritos (for a footlong sub), and a southwestern sauce. I took a bite and I swear my taste buds have not danced with excitement from a sub like that before. It kind of reminded me of a taco from Taco Bell, but healthier and tastier. The crunch is definitely a nice mix with the softer ingredients. The best part about this location too is they have an icee machine with coke cola and cherry flavors! We ended up getting two bags of chips, a large icee and a 6- inch and footlong for around $17. Not bad for all that food! I'm definitely a fan and the staff was friendly and didn't skimp on any toppings.

Maybe I'm missing something but this place was nothing special. The best part of our meal was the chips and salsa and that's not saying much. I got the burrito Mexicano. Two smallish burritos with chicken or beef. They were generic and unimpressive. My wife got the chicken fajitas. The chicken had some good flavor but cheese was extra and the refried beans were paste-like and bland. Our server was unengaged and rarely seen. I never thought I'd go to La Senorita's again but after going here I'm considering it. If you want an unauthentic, tasteless meal in a colorful environment, you've found your place.
I was staying at the Holiday Inn next door and decided to try this place based on a recommendation. Since I was traveling by myself and typically don't like to go to full service restaurants by myself (I find myself staring awkwardly at other people and listening to their conversations unintentionally), I was hesitant, but went anyway. Now, it probably helped that I am a young woman, but I was greeted very warmly and received excellent service. A gentleman who appeared to be the manager recommended the Burrito Loco and I ordered it. It was delicious! It was far more than I could eat, but I tried, because it was basically a flavor explosion. Will definitely go back next time I am in town!
Friendly and very clean. Nice atmosphere. Food okay; nothing special. My quesadilla had spinach and cheese but nothing else. It was too salty too. Friendly and very clean. Nice atmosphere. Food okay; nothing special. My quesadilla had spinach and cheese but nothing else. It was too salty too.

Have stopped here twice on trips and have not been disappointed. Has a nice atmosphere to it. Heavy wooded walls and posts which I like. The wait staff is very friendly and they will cook your burgers to order (med rare for me). Family friendly. We had kids ranging from 9-16. Sure, it is bar food, but good tasting, friendly staff, good atmosphere = 5 stars for the type of place it is.
Awesome food. Best fried pickles my wife and I have ever had. Ate here twice this week, all the food and service was outstanding.
Timothy's is very unpretentious and has a great down to earth feel. Another reviewer likened it to Cheers, and that's pretty accurate. Had a good lunch here today. I tried the prime rib sandwich on toast points and my husband had a burger. My "sandwich" was a thick slice of prime rib, cooked perfectly, but only warm. It arrived with an au jus that hinted of Rosemary & was perfect for dipping, served hot, which warmed up the beef. Delicious! My husband's burger was juicy and cooked as requested. He said it was very good. The true gem of the place is Laura, the lone server at lunch. She was friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. A+ We will definitely be back!
