The spinach and artichoke pizza is without equal. The service is exemplary. The beer selection is very good, and is nice and cold. Best pizza in Washtenaw County.
In town for a concert found this gem based on great Yelp reviews! Cute little establishment, Sam the waitress was very friendly, couldn't have asked for a better server! The food, wow! Delicious! Came out quick and hot. In town for a few more days, will be back!
Not impressed. Was in town on business and wanted local pizza joint. Jumped on yelp and this placed had best reviews. It is probably the favorite local place as it is only place and been there long time. Only can judge on a basic pepperoni pizza but pretty bland. Generic crust, not doughy, not crispy. Nothing to set it apart. Would like to try other things on menu next time in town.

Mike's Deli is becoming a tradition for us. After a long weekend getaway and family reunion in Angola IN, we've now stopped here three strait times on our way back to Detroit MI. We've been impressed each time, and are looking forward to our next visit in June 2017!
One advantage of a stand alone, independent place is the lengths they will go to make your sandwich just as you want it! I liked the Nick's Nosh sandwich with coleslaw and cucumber and more. I wanted it warm - grilled - but didn't want limp cukes. They did it perfect and it was very good. I ate the whole thing! (Really should have taken half with me and not be so stuffed.) have to go back to try more of the veggie sandwiches. And the decor is ecletic, not corporate themed. Ah that's nice...if I weren't so full I would have gone to Zou Zou's for a latte.
I agree with others, since they have changed management/owners, it just isn't the same. I hadn't been in for quite awhile, but came in for lunch. I ended up getting a half sandwich and cup of soup. The soup (broccoli cheese) was really good. The sandwich wasn't very good. The pickle was bad... The service was ok. Nothing great. The sandwich, soup, and a soda was $9.27, which was a pretty good deal. Their new hours SUCK. Only open until 5 during the week? Guess I won't be getting dinner from there....

I had the most delicious omelet here! Highly recommend!
We stumbled across this place while waiting for our sons' baseball tournament game to begin. Very quaint and definitely different. We wanted a place that serves breakfast even though it was almost 1 pm on a Sunday. We sat on the side that has booths not the coffeehouse/bakery side which was empty. Food was very fresh and great portions! The only reason this is not 5 stars is the slow service. Server indicated we arrived during a "weird little rush" but only 4 booths were filled and only 1 other 4-top table ordered at the same time the two of us ordered, yet our food was at least 15 minutes behind theirs coming out to table. Hubby said food was definitely worth the wait. I agree! We both did the Piggy omelet- I added peppers and mushrooms to mine. House potatoes are yummy- big chunks of red potatoes with grilled onion and cheese. Other omelet choices have traditional and non-traditional ingredients (duck, corned beef). All ingredients were extremely fresh and high quality. Other items include soups, salads and sandwiches. Coffee was great- hubby had regular, I had mocha latte. Was tempted to order dirty chai latte but decided not to. Drink menu also included fresh lemonade and Mexican coke(?). I definitely will come back again if I am in this cute little town where Jiffy corn muffin mix is made right across the street. Great little shops and mom & pop establishments.
I always hate leaving these kinds of reviews, but the service was inexplicably bad - our waitress was adorable and sweet, but she lingered and talked to customers rather than focus on fulfilling everyone's needs. The food was 3.5 stars - served nicely and was hot - but we waited 65 minutes for it. I had to get up to get our table and the neighboring table coffee, cream, and I had to get our silverware. All in all, a frustrating dining experience, though the food was tasty.

Awesome...for a dive bar afficienado. I've been eyeing this place for 8 years doing the 94 trip between chicago and Detroit. It looks so awful it must be majestic in a dive bar sort of way. The kind of place you look at driving by and say, I bet there is a Jukebox playing Johnny Cash or David Alan Coe, a borderline trashy blonde barkeep that has no mute button to her opinions, a few suspenders, and a belly up full of camo caps and huntin' stories. Let me tell ya', no disappointment here. Finally walked in because the wife and daughters stayed in the Windy city and it was a beer belly, shot and beer paradise. Boy named Sue on the Juke Box and the bar wench as rude and opinionated as could be. Loved it! The patrons were friendly and quick bowl of chili worth the stop. I have declared to my local Detroit crew that we will find an Uber to take us here for a long afternoon of darts and redneck stories, assisted by my old man's stories of how he went there underage between tours of Vietnam because there was no (hu-hum Wine Cask Inn) ID policy. If you got a little white trash in ya, make it a point to stop at Stivers!
Fried chicken was okay, just plain old diner food, nothing special. Dive like atmosphere with regulars drinking and watching sports.
I'm really fond of this place. Stivers is probably the best roadhouse-style bar along this stretch of I-94. The bar food is great, the drinks are stronger than hell, and the service is good. Get a jumbo burger and an order of potato skins, thank me later.

It's a pretty good place. I eat breakfast here a lot when I'm in Chelsea. I wouldn't call it great food but it's good food and a little better than what you'd expect at a typical Big Boy. Breakfast comes with a free copy of the Detroit News which I feel is an added touch. Waitresses are generally very good with an exception of a couple but overall you can't complain. It's located right off the highway and the inside of the restaurant is generally clean.
Pretty typical Big Boy's. Went for breakfast and had the usual scrambled eggs, bacon and hash browns, not too shabby. Our waitress was very helpful and gave us extra bacon and the specials which saved us money. Clean restaurants and bathrooms. Recommend if you're in the area and don't feel like McDonald's.
Stopped in to Chelsea on my way to Grand rapids. I was a bit hesitant because being from the Detroit suburbs where Bigboys are really run down, and mismanaged, but I didn't see any other restaurants right off the Interstate so we decided to take a chance. Wow, this is the nicest Big Boy I have ever been to, everything looked great, the waitress' weren't nickel and dimming up, everything was clean etc... Our food was delicious, burgers, with toasted buns, everything was spot on. My side salad rocked and the waitress let me get a salad instead of coleslaw on my bigboy combo, I appreciate that, some locations charge you for that or make you get the salad bar. I told the boss on my way out to keep up the good work. :-)

Jet’s Pizza

A hidden gem for craft beer lovers and the pizza is delish too! Jet's typically has 38 - 45 beers on tap at one time. You can find your selection scrolling on the numerous TV's hanging from the walls. Beautiful hand drawn chalk artwork adorns the comfy little palace of Beer & Pizza! You owe it to yourself to check this place out if you haven't already. You can also get growlers to go, there are special attractions on each night of the week too. Do yourself a favor and head over to taplister.com to check out what they have on tap right now!
Best pizza/bar in town, in the shadow of the Chelsea Clocktower Commons. I love this Jet's and it just happens to be in my hometown. It's not your typical Jet's pizza. Next door to the takeout and delivery, is the dining room/bar. Why call ahead when you can place your order, sit at the bar and have a pint while you wait? You can even place your order with the bartender or order next door and tell them you are waiting for it. 32 stellar beers on tap - to see the current list, save this website on your phone for a real time list of brews available. GG.GG\beermenu You can pick up a growler (64oz) or howler (32oz) of your favorite brew to go, or try a tasting flight for $5. Kill the Keg specials are $3 and you win a prize if you do. Latest released movies showing every Tuesday, with discounted drafts, bottles and popcorn. Jet's does have some of the best pizza in town, but the beer makes it that much better! Full Jet's menu is available. This is a family place, so bring the kids. There is plenty to check out, between the big screen TVs and the Sci-Fi swag all over the walls. The dining room is small for the amount of people they have in and out, so you have to be patient or plan ahead to grab a table. I hear there is trivia night but I haven't hit that yet. There are prizes for trivia winners too. Worth a trip to Chelsea, if you haven't been yet.
I was there 7/16 for the Project 418 benefit concert beach party, this was so much fun! The jets staff were very friendly. The restaurant had a bar which was a nice surprise.

Chelsea Alehouse Brewery

Reviews:
Yum. Our first visit to Chelsea Alehouse. Took off one star only because the place had too many kids. I had a Reuben substituted with turkey so I could enjoy the sauerkraut for A2. Spot on for a Reuben. The taste of the turkey combined with sauerkraut and thousand island was perfectly matched on the marbled bread. Hubby had pulled pork on pretzel roll. He said the sandwich was really good. He wished the sandwich had just a little more cole slaw for an added crunch but said the BBQ sauce and pork was excellent and he would order again. Side of chips were really good and I are both of our pickles as hubby doesn't like any pickle. Pickles tasted like the old Zingerman's pickle. We sampled the rye Porter and the brown. We went with the Brown which was a great choice for a session beer. Our service was good and the wait time acceptable. We visited early Saturday evening and the place had many children running around with some I attentive parents. Not the fault of the Alehouse but a note for future patrons.
I've been anxiously awaiting the opening of this place and it has not disappointed! At my last visit, I got a sampler and was extremely pleased with all of the beer but especially the bitter & coffee stout. The bitter was about as perfectly to style as I've had (it is one of my favorite styles) and I always love me a good coffee stout. The food choices have dramatically improved as well. I had the hot & spicy sandwich which was indeed spicy & very good. My favorite snack were the Dexter Bakery pretzels and cheese--YUM. Meant to only have one; had three. The atmosphere is also lovely. I feel at home whenever I am there and always get good service. I can't wait to sit outside once the weather warms up (which may not be for months yet, knowing Michigan) :)
Beer nothing exceptional. Prices high. Better beers on tap better prices and better atmosphere at the Jets in front lot. Really.

Come for The Walt.
Yeah, I iike the food. And the coffee.
I liked the authenticity of this coffee shop. None of that sterile corporate design . I like a coffee shop worn and comfortable. Touch of France is nice, not overdone. Had a latte in a hotel china cup - has weight and a texture that doesn't detract from the brew unlike paper or, heaven forbid, styrofoam. Ordered the quiche, (onion, cheese and mushroom). Could taste onions! Enjoyed it and really liked the fresh fruit garnish. Fresh, fruit, bits! And I liked sitting there and gazing over downtown Chelsea and the pedestrians while I ate and sipped. Music comfortable in style and sound level.

I have to be honest this place's food used to be hit or miss but things have improved in that regard and the bar area has always been awesome. Great place to watch a hockey game live or another game on tv. Best sports bar in Chelsea. The bar overlooks two hockey rinks. Service has improved recently as well.
AH snap! Best sports bar in Chelsea. Most of the patrons are lining the walls, watching the hockey games down below. You can see each of the arenas from this bar, perched on top of the Artic Colesium. I had to indulge in my favorite shrimp alfredo fetticini - add mushrooms and spinach, on this visit. This alfredo dish is the best I have ever had, anywhere. Being so good, it can't be good for me, so I try not to visit too often. The firehouse wings are fabulous too. The service is usually hit or miss and on this visit, I think I offended the waitress but we don't know how. Maybe it was asking for more water. Oh well. She was attentive enough. We tipped well and both had great meals. Can't complain. Love it.
First off the bar area is awesome. If I was only rating the bar it would be 4 or 5 stars. It's the upstairs of an Ice Arena and on both sides of the bar you can literally look down and watch a hockey game if one is being played on one of the two rinks. There are big screens all over the place in there so it is a great place to watch a game. If a weekend hockey tournament is going on the place is packed with hockey moms and dads looking to mingle. It doesn't have much of a weekday lunch crowd though nor have I ever seen it extremely busy for a weekday happy hour but on the weekends or at night it's generally packed if something at the rink is going on. That being said the food here is really inconsistent. I have had decent food here but I've also had terrible food. I've never had great food here but the pizza is decent. They do have a large liquor and beer selection but the menu is not that creative and some of the selections that are no longer available have just had a piece of tape put over them rather than removing them or replacing them with something else. The food that is put out is nothing to write home about. I've had worse though.

Uptown Coney Island

Reviews:
As weird (and safe) as I feel in Chelsea, this has been an after-camping spot for me for a couple of years now. When I trudge in on a Sunday morning, smelling like campfire, cigarettes, and lack of shower, all I want is a bunch of coffee, a big breakfast, and some friendly service. Luckily, we are accepted at the Uptown Coney Island, and treated just as well as the non-stinky after church crowd that share the place with us. The menu is big, the staff is mostly young, and the managers are friendly. I don't remember the last time a manager has come over to ask me how things were, but he did at Uptown. You should expect high quality coney food here, which is exactly how it sounds. You can expect that there will also be a lot of others here looking for good prices and regular, comforting food. I expect that all of my trips to Chelsea in the future (which are once a year, tops) will include a stop at Uptown for some coffee, a greasy breakfast, and good service.
I was pleasantly surprised by this place. The outside looks a little rough but the inside is spectacular! Love the fiesta ware on the walls and the toaster/blender lights. The service was quick and the food was good. My wife and I left full and only spent $20. It's a Coney Island so you know that going in...if you want the ritz go to the ritz. This's quick and got the job done!
DO NOT ORDER CARRY OUT. The past 3 times we have ordered carry out, something has been left out or completely messed up, including tonight when they forgot 2 side salads, dressing for a main course salad, and completely messed up a burger. Our total came out to close to $50, I'm pretty sure we should have gotten what we payed for. However, the staff are very nice and eating inside is a completely different story. The food is also fresh and the atmosphere is very nice, and somewhat different for a coney island.
