Great little Thai place. I recommend the vegetable curry fried rice!

I seriously do not understand the poor reviews, I've eaten a lot of Thai food and this place is good. It's the best you can possibly do in the area unless you feel like driving to Ann Arbor. I get the pineapple fried rice and pad thai all the time and I love it. It's a bit of a hole in the wall, really not meant for sit down but who cares because the food is good.

I see the not so good reviews on here, but I have to say my take out was great. Since I got takeout I can't speak too much about the service, but the food was great. I got tofu pad thai, pad see ew, and chicken and cashews. Everything was super delish especially the pad see ew. This place made it with skinny noodles, I've only ever seen it with wide noodles so that was a little different but very tasty. It's definitely not a high class joint, it's an order at the window type of place, but I'd definitely be interested in eating in and seeing if the food is even better right off the stove top!

Went here on a whim and absolutely loved it. I've gone back many times since. The service is fast and though the inside is a little wanting, the food is spectacular. The Pad See Ew is the best I have had in a while.

Mediocre Thai food at best. Didn't have enough traditional Thai flavors I've been used to eating. Food: Chicken Fried rice - flavor was lacking that Thai taste and was a bit oily Chicken and broccoli with brown sauce - was tasty, but again, didn't have that Thai flavor I'm used to... Perhaps missing some or too little Thai type of soy sauce (thai soy sauces taste a bit different from regular type such as kikkoman). Hot and sour soup - nothing special. Same as any I've gotten at Chinese restaurants Service: Though this is mainly a takeout place, with only enough space for 2 tables, we ended up eating at there. Service was fine and did bare minimum, but I don't hold this against them as this is mainly a takeout place.

Best Thai food in the county (yes, this area does not offer much). The soups are not very good, but they've got a good pad thai and the curries are nice.

Very delicious and quick. Limited seating. Daughter had Pad Thai, I had curry and we loved it. Big portions too.

Though I will be back in Thailand later next week, I had to get my Thai craving in advance. With me in Brighton today with some business, I spotted Thai Express and stopped in for a sample. Small place in a corner shopping with convenient and ample parking. Dined in for lunch. Ordered the Gang Pha which is described as "Sliced bamboo shoots, baby corn, eggplant, and string beas cooked in a Thai red curry sauce". It comes with a choice of Hot& Sour soup or Egg drop. I opted for the H&S. The Hot and sour soup wad remarkably good. Rich, thick...hot just right and soured more than other places. The Gang Pha curry was served up in about ten minutes. I knew right away this.place had a hood chance of being authentic by the aroma of Nam pla (aged fish sauce) which was profound. That's okay with me, but might turn off some others. The dish itself was fair. Chicken was a little gamey and tough. Sauce was mild for ordering it "medium-hot". Way too much bamboo shoots as their taste over powered the curry. Green beans were very wrinkly: either cooked well in advance or were not fresh. I wasn't impressed overall by this dish. An adjacent table had some Pad Thai which looked pretty good. When I am in Brighton again, I'll give them another try.

The worst. This place needs to remove the name Thai food and call it slop. When I told the owner how I was disappointed with the food she just walked off. Why DOES Brighton support this dump. Because they don't know real THAI if they did this place would be a shor store.

Truly the best Curry Noodle I've had in a very long time! My boyfriend's Pad Thai was so so, but I'd be willing to give it another try... Looking forward to trying more noodle dishes and one of their fried rice dishes next time! Well done, Thai Express!

Bad... Really bad. If other reviews compare this to authentic Thai food they have no idea what they are taking about and must enjoy the taste of plain noodles with oil. I wanted to like it and tried simple standard options in pad thai and drunken noodle. Pad Thai was 2lbs of plain noodle, no chicken, egg, bean sprouts etc. Drunken noodle was defiantly cooked in the same batch as the pad thai no difference. A coconut soup was sour.. Painfully so and was all onion. The building looks sad and rusted and the food does as well. Major disappointment, better or even decent options are available elsewhere.

This place is so good. Best Pad Ped and Pad Thai around.

  • Elisa T.

Yummy! Called ahead and order was ready in 5 minutes. Got the lunch potato curry with tofu (and white rice) for $8. Good deal and good flavor! :)

I was craving Pad Thai and my fiancé and I decided to try a new place. I wish we didn't... There was no flavor and maybe 3 small pieces of chicken! Very disappointing!

I go to Thai restaurants everywhere I go. I've even spent a few weeks in Thailand and I think this is one of the better places for Thai food. This place doesn't look like much but the food is very good. Their peanut curry is hands down the best peanut curry I have ever had. The egg drop soup and crab Rangoon are really good too. I eat here all the time. I do not understand the bad reviews. To give this place one star is just flat out unfair and bitchy.

  • Craig L.

Been coming here for some time now, and can only say I have had 2 below average experiences. The first: an error in my spicy tolerance (ordered mega ultra hot). The second: well, just a bad day I guess. BUT! Do not be led astray by these 1 star-biased snobby people. This place is not that bad. It's actually pretty tasty. Fair warning, when you order your plate with chicken, beef, shrimp, etc. (for an extra charge nonetheless) don't expect much more than a dash of said extras.

  • Mike R.

This place used to be really good, but today it sucked. I haven't been in awhile and wish I didn't go today. Egg drop soup taste like salty dish water, my daughters noodles with brown sauce made her sit in Home Depots bathroom for about 45 minutes with diarrhea and my mom felt nauseous the rest of the day. Thanks Thai express next I'm liking for a good bowel cleansing we will come back other wise never again.

Consistently good Thai food. The seating area is small and 'no frills' so we order take-out.

    (4)
  • Victor R.

Only about 4 seats indoor seats, mainly just take out. Had the pad Thai, both tofu and chicken, both were good but they're a little light on the sauce. I ordered a side of peanut sauce and the size was a little small but very good. I asked for the chicken Pad Thai extra spicy and they definitely delivered the heat. Over I wasn't blown away but it was solid and I would go back.

Great Food at a great price! Any of the noodle dishes are massive, I eat more than anyone I know and I can make 3 solid meals out of 1 one them. All I have to say is be careful ordering the peanut noodle because you might end up ordering it 3 times a week like me! Only downside is their pad thai is not my favorite, other than that everything is great. Especially the peanut noodle!!!

Thai Express is my hometown Thai restaurant (I've been dining there for over a decade) and I still think they have some of the best Pad Thai around. Fast service. Reasonably priced, especially considering the large portion sizes. Consistently good food. Salivating just thinking about it!

    (5)
  • Margie K.

Sorry. Probably some of the worst Pad Thai I've ever had. The spring rolls tasted like nothing but old oil. I got takeout and the person on the phone was short with me and rude. I will not be returning to Thai Express.

    (2)
  • Anna S.

The pad thai is pretty good, and a large portion. i would definitely get it again! medium spice was hardly hot the times i've had it. Tried the crab rangoon and 2 occasions - there was not a lot of filling and they just weren't good. spring rolls are only okay.

So disappointed, walked in and immediately the chef turns around and gives me an evil eye stare and a growl. Surprised but i still managed to order Pad Thai, when it came I dove in expecting a culinary sensation, wrong it smelled and tasted like dog food. I almost barfed right there at the table. Years ago this place was the best thai around. Not anymore. Go elsewhere!

This is the best Thai food in Brighton! I so disagree with Steve's review. I've never had a bad meal here. Everythiong I've tried on the menu is fantastic. They spice it well here too. I usually have to order it Medium plus at most other places, but here it is Medium and well done. Just right! Try the Pad Ped, excellent! Pad Almond - Awesome! All the noodle dishes are fantastic. Come on, spice up your life and enjoy some great Thai food in Brighton, MI

Stopped in for a carryout Tom Yum soup. The broth and vegetables were pretty good, the chicken was sparse and had a rather gamey taste. Costs seemed a little high at $8 for soup. If I go there again, I will try the Tom Yum soup with shrimp instead of chicken.

Called in for a carryout order--was greeted with just a "Hello." I wasn't even sure I had dialed correctly! It was a very short, almost rude interaction--I guess I'm used to some prompts like "What type of meat? How spicy?" I had to offer those details on my own once there was some awkward silence. So my pad see ew came with thin noodles--I should have looked at a menu before I order because I have never had it come with thin pad-thai like noodles, I was pretty disappointed. It tasted pretty okay but as the next day's lunch (which really, Thai food is some of the best leftovers ever)... it was not good at all. The dark sauce became kind of clumpy too once reheated. I can see myself giving Thai Express another chance in the future, but it's not at the top of my list anytime soon. They're also only open from 4-8pm on Saturday... whaaa?
