My fiancée and I went here for breakfast on the last day of our vacation as a treat. It's conveniently located right across from our hotel just outside of town. The waitress was very sweet, but not smothering. I had hot chocolate and banana and nut pancakes. My fiancée had the eggs florentine. He reported they "were the best eggs he had ever had!" Food was great, prices were great, service was great! We'll be back!!

The restaurant sits just a little outside of the downtown area. The interior needs an update.and the menu doesn"t have many traditional New England Seafood options outside of a Baked Haddock dish. The Crab Cakes were some of tbe best I've had and my aunt agreed. The menu does have a few Lighter Fare items, one of the better one is a Grilled Hangar Steak served with either a side salad or Homemade Sweet Potatoe Chips for $14.00. Came for seafood but was very happy with the choice.

My wife and I celebrated our 25th anniversary by taking a trip to Ogunquit and enjoying a fabulous meal at this restaurant. Our server, Nancy, was top notch both in her demeanor and knowledge. My wife's filet mignon was cooked absolutely perfectly. The only reason I am not giving it five stars is because I don't eat red meat, and the salmon I had was very good, but not great in it's seasoning and in presentation on the plate. I was also surprising to us that, with 7:30 reservations, that the place was virtually empty when we finished at around 9:00. There was only one other table there with anyone seated and they were paying their bill. Seems they like to close early? Anyway, we would definitely go back, we would just come a little earlier.

If you're only in Maine for a short time, you should eat seafood, but if you live in Maine, or heaven forbid, don't like seafood, and you find yourself at Bintiliff's, the ribs are really good. They're meaty, cooked well, and the sauce is quite delicious. One of my friends raved about her filet, and another friend liked the duck. You might want to stay away from the lamb though. Two of my friends didn't care for the crust or the sauce.

I want to love Bintliff's. The décor is beautiful. In fact, it's probably one of the best decorated restaurants I've been too-it even beats out some Boston restaurants, including Top of the Hub. If I were rating it on setting alone, it would be 5 stars, hands down. The rest of the good: The wine list is quite comprehensive and includes several local wines. There's a good dessert list and quite a few options for an after dinner drink. The not so good? Pretty much everything else. Entrées are fairly expensive, between 20$ and 40$ on average, and at that price, I do expect top notch food. It wasn't even close. My husband and I made reservations a good week in advance, noting that we would be celebrating our wedding anniversary. While most of the restaurant has low, romantic lighting, we were seated near the brightly lit wall, bench seating, and next to a family with small children. I have nothing against kids-I have one myself- but on a rare, child-free occasion, celebrating something, I'd prefer to be seated away from them. I'd like to note, before I continue, that Bob, our waiter, was fantastic. He was prompt, knowledgeable, and helpful. Nothing in this review should reflect poorly upon him. He'd also have a 5 star rating, if I was reviewing just him. My husband and I, respectively, ordered the Filet Oscar, the Surf & Turf, and two demi Caesar salads. Our bread arrived while we waited, cold and a bit stale. Not terribly so, but if it was in my house, it would have been relegated to french toast. The Caesar salad was good, not the best I've ever had, but it was certainly the best part of the meal. Both of our steaks came out incorrectly cooked, mine overdone and my husband's under. Our waiter certainly tried to fix this, but the second time, mine was practically tartare rather than medium rare and my husband's was still a bit underdone. We were offered the opportunity to send them both back a third time, but we declined. At that point, to be honest, I wasn't even interested in eating mine. My lobster tail was tough and difficult to get into. I eventually had to use my hands to pry the rubbery meat out. We both had opted for oven roasted potatoes and, while they were good, the portions were woefully small. We were served sautéed green beans with both meals, though mine came out the second time with a much nicer squash and chard medley. On a side note, I really dislike the trend of referring to mashed or whipped potatoes as "smashed". It reminds me of going to TGI Friday's or another kitschy place, not anywhere I'd consider fine dining. I'm also not terribly fond of the fact that they always include enough garlic to kill the whole cast of TruBlood. I'm not sure at what point I felt like dessert might still be a good idea, but I was wrong. Again. We both had vanilla bean crème brûlée. The custard was bland. My only inkling that it was indeed vanilla were the little bits of scraped bean on the very bottom. The caramelized sugar on the top was dark brown, rather solid, and tasted quite burnt and bitter. We saw one of the chefs walking around, checking in with other tables, but despite the issues with our meal, he never so much as glanced over to our brightly lit corner, leaving our waiter alone to apologize for our sad meals. I will note that Bintliff's was kind enough to remove our poorly done entées from the bill and our waiter did, indeed, apologize several times for it. On a petty note, this is the only place we've ever celebrated a birthday or an anniversary that it wasn't even passingly acknowledged. The last time we were here, in March rather than December, we had a radically different meal, which is what prompted us to come back. It was practically a different restaurant. I'm not quite sure what happened, but I'm not fond of it. While we still have a gift certificate for them, I'm not honestly sure we'll go back to use it, at this point. My husband is willing to give them another try; I'm not, especially considering I spent the rest of my last night of vacation with a miserable stomachache. Bintliff's is open Thursday through Sunday during the off-season. They do serve lunch and a brunch on week-ends, so perhaps that's a better bet than dinner. If you're looking for a romantic night out, though, you'd most likely be better served going elsewhere.

Amazing place for lunch. We enjoyed the elaborate interior, tall leather style booths and soft Italian music playing. Our lunch was incredible. My wife's French onion soup was the best we've ever had, and that's quite an accomplishment. The open faced corned beef sandwiches were delicious. It was a large portion of tender flavorful beef smothered in cheese and dressing on a hefty piece of toast. The salad was a very nice compliment. The served a late brunch as well that looked very appetizing. Would definitely return, maybe for breakfast next time. Highly recommend.

We had a very good brunch here in August! Friendly waitress. Nice atmosphere. A bit pricy but good food. Quite busy since it was summertime and tourist season still but we did not have to wait for a table. The hash was homemade and more just brisket than mixed up hash but no complaints about that. The Crème brûlée French toast was rich and delicious. The Belgian Waffle was near perfection .. but it would have been nice to have Maple Syrup rather than corn (fake maple) syrup to top it off.

Not only did we have a great brunch for my wife's surprise birthday beunch the owner was nice enough to combine my 4 $25 Restaurant.com coupons into 1 $100 coupon because restaurant.com has no customer service on weekends and left me hanging! Great corned beef hash, bloody marys and good service. Thanks Bintliffs!

Our last visit to Bintliff's was not a good start to our day! We had a 10.00 off coupon, the same kind we get from Congdon's with no strings attached. I just recently lost my mother and was in a fog and didn't read the fine print on the coupon saying you had to spend 30 to get the 10 off. Our check came to 28 and change, 30.32 with tax and our waitress ( who had zero personality, never even smiled once and was so flat!) said no to taking it, not even trying in anyway to help us, we even tried to buy a 3rd coffee to make it up to the 30 and she said "no, we don't have to go cups!" She was so rude, why I left her a 4.00 tip I have no idea, guess I can't bring myself to be as mean as she was! My husband has no intention of ever returning to Bintliffs. Oh, and our has browns were very soggy and greasy this time and the bacon was too!...not impressed!

Looking at all the great reviews of first timers. They don't understand what a great restaurant Bentliff's use to be. Decor is the same as sevens years ago so it's the menu unfortunately the recipes are not the same. The gingerbread pancakes was a gingerbread batter not today it was buttermilk batter with gingerbread spice added. It was to come with a tart lemon sauce as we remember a yellow looking sauce. What come was an orange spice sauce.

Having reached our fill of lobster dishes, we were pleased to find this excellent alternative for dinner. After we noticed that a number of patrons were having the steamed mussel appetizer we decided to try them and were rewarded with an excellently prepared fresh batch of sweet tasting mussels. For dinner both my wife and I chose the roast beef, which was prepared just as ordered and was delicious. I also enjoyed the tiny roasted potatoes with my very tender and tasty roast beef. The service was very accommodating. An overall enjoyable and tasty experience.

Server was ok. Not very enthusiastic. Food was just ok and expensive. Would not return. It was the only meal we were disappointed with during our stay in Ogunquit. :(

This place is a gem! We went back 3 times in one weekend. Everything we ordered was amazing! Try Lobster eggs benedict and Crème brûlée French toast. Also, try beef wellington for dinner.

Bintliff's is a comfortable time warp. All the things your family sold when your grandmother passed away have found a home in this slightly eccentric bar/restaurant/cavern of culinary retro. With a menu that includes steak Diane, roast duck in berry sauce and beef Wellington, it makes you nostalgic for childhood. The whole thing screams winter rather than summer, but it's entertaining. The drinks are well made so kudos to the bartender. The food is decent. Duck was good, the sauce not so much. Fortunately we ordered it on the side. The lamb chops were overwhelmed by a sharp mustard taste (almost as if it had been added after cooking instead of before, which it hadn't) and didn't have much rich lamb flavor, but they were cooked to medium rare as ordered and the texture was perfect. The steak Diane screamed Mad Men. Alas, it would have benefited from a whiskey on the side. Still, it was a fun, odd dining experience and we had a good time.

Had the hash & eggs with honey wheat toast. The homemade bread was amazing. The hash was sitting in a ton of liquid & was flavorless. The poached eggs were over cooked. If it was in the height of the busy season, I probably would overlook most of this. There were 3 tables , 10 people in total. And, it was way overpriced, $45 for 2 hash & eggs.

This review is based on dinner. Brunch will be done on another visit. There are 2 factors that prevents Bintliff's getting a 5 star rating. My partner and I had dinner here last night (3/28/15). First of all, parking is a plus. Plenty enough for in season. Inside, decor is eclectic, in a good way. So far, 2 pluses. We had Missy as our server. She was courteous and polite. A very good experience throughout the meal. Add another plus. We ordered a bottle of wine. Low 20s, good deal for dinner. Also, received a complimentary basket of bread. Tasty but came with butter. (Why, no olive oil and parm cheese dip? So much better for taste. Add fresh garlic to oil, even better.) We both ordered the same dishes for the whole meal. GRATINEE OF FRENCH ONION SOUP $9 (3.5/5) Overpriced for mediocre taste, in our opinion. PAN FRIED GOAT CHEESE SALAD $10 (2/5) Both salads had charred Brussels sprouts and a burnt disc of goat cheese. Only a few pieces of pear were present. A bit disappointing. GRILLED RIBEYE $27 (4/5) Both steaks were cooked & served well. Tasty too.Lots of caramelized onions and cheese. Mixed reviews on accompanying sides. Mine were cold. His were lukewarm. Non were memorable to recall. The 2 factors are: Overpriced for so-so or okay food, just being honest. They messed up the salads, unacceptable dish. We only dined here for the Restaurant.com certificate. It's a great deal. Would come back with same deal.

So just to start off I only give four stars because I'm saving five stars for the best place ever. While this is not the best place ever it would be in my favorite list. First the staff, we sat at the bar and it was clear within thirty seconds the bartender was the owner. The service was super quick and he was one of the best servers that have ever served us. Now for the drinks my girlfriend got the signature bloody and it was incredible I got the extreme blood Mary and it was the best one I have ever had in my life and I'm 43 so that's a long time. Now for the food, girlfriend got a omelet which was delicious, for me I like to try something no one else has, so I had spicy Korean garlic chili scrambled and omg best thing I ate this year. If you like bloodies and really good food you need to stop in here one day.

A couple of years ago I wrote a 5 star review about how great this place was. The food and the friendly wait staff were wonderful. Unfortunately I think it's taken a turn for the worst but I hope that this feedback will help get it back to greatness. This morning I went with friends for a party of 8. Off the bat I was noticing the dust bunnies that have accumulated on the ceiling tile. Felt kinda gross to have to look at that. But that's a couple of hours with a feather duster before opening could fix that. The eggs Benedict had a solid cooked yoke. Call me crazy but I thought the yoke should be a little runny for benedict. I was a little put off by the waitress coming to the table and just putting the food in front of the closest person to her and had to be passed around to the correct person. Is this a diner? But I guess what irked me the most was that I had to get up to go find my waitress to please refill the glasses with water. Then seemed annoyed that I interrupted whatever she was doing. Not sure that I'd go back again.

It's been a few years since my last visit to Bintliff's and my first visit for dinner. This was a major disappointment. The three of us all ordered the rib eye steak. When delivered all three were wrong. The medium rare steaks were both well done and the medium was rare. I swapped my well with the rare across the table. But the steak was well done on one end with piece of rare around the gristle, all the steaks were very thin. My wife sent hers back twice then gave up and switched to mussels that were very good, that was about 15 minutes after we'd finished our meals. With the steaks were well prepared veggies and potatoes but they were very cold when they arrived at the table. The service was perfunctory and nothing was done to make up for the repeated mistakes and miserable meals. Might still be good for breakfast but I'll never go again for dinner.

My husband and I stopped for a late lunch a couple of weeks ago, my husband ordered the Chicken Gorgonzola Wrap, he tries not to eat foods high in carbs so he ate only the filling and was very satisfied and liked it a lot. I ordered the Cobb Salad and enjoyed it immensely, it reminded me very much of the original Cobb Salad I had at the Brown Derby in L.A. when I was a child (I'm an old lady now), but no matter what, you alway remember particular flavors, it's one of our senses that never go away. I have had so many reincarnations at many restaurants of this salad and it has never measured up like this one did. This salad alone would make me return. I loved the "over the top" decor, it made me feel like I was at a party celebrating an event, in this case it was food! Service was good, not outstanding but good. Prices are average but good for a touristy town like Ogunquit. We were very happy with our visit, we joined their "frequent diners program" and we will be back.

Beautiful decor, friendly staff, food came out quick and was delicious. I got the lobster Benedict which was out of this world. My bf got the Irish Benedict and I tasted it- some of the best corned beef I ever tried! Great place.

Cool atmosphere, amazing eggs Benedict selections, French toast, omelettes and much more. Had a huge spicy Bloody Mary and split the crab cake eggs Benedict with a side of creme brûlée and a side of the Orange french toast with a friend. Everything was very decadent. Definitely a recommendation!

Came to Bintliff's for brunch and it was pretty much as good as it gets. Our server was attentive and friendly. I will warn that it's a bit pricey. Brunch for 4 was $100. My food - the champagne egg's benedict which were served over a toasted croissant cut in half *mouth waters* - was outstanding. My husband has more of a sweet tooth and ordered the creme brulee french toast which came highly recommened by the server and definitely delivered. So good! Bintliff's is known for its Bloody Mary's, and though they are not my thing, my brother-in-law loved it. If you order tea they bring out a little caddy with an assortment of different teas to choose from. A nice touch. A place not to be skipped!

I've returned to Bintliff's a few times since my last review, and I feel that now that we have a more mature relationship I understand Bintliff's a little better. There are a lot of great things going on here but also wild inconsistencies. My favorite part is probably still the decor, the tufted leather booths and windows never fail to charm and relax. The bread is amazing. Appetizers are usually yummy - the mussels are big enough for two and I enjoyed the escargot as well. Entrees are generally where the disappointment sets in - sambuca shrimp was not memorable, ribs were dry, and I already knew that the duck was dry. My ribs came with a lovey salad and a delicious shallot dressing, except that the salad was smothered in dressing. I'm not sure if this is a relationship that has run its course, but definitely the bloom is off the rose.

Ok, this place probably serves the best breakfast you can get in south Maine. The corned beef hash with poached eggs is out of this world. The eggs are poached perfectly and look like ghosts sitting on top of this amazing corned beef. The meat is beyond tender and is full of wonderful flavors. The potatoes on the bottom are great as well, but unnecessary with the amazing corned beef.

Bintliff's OGT is within walking distance of my summer home. It is one of several places that I go in town for breakfast and I love it. When the town is crazy in the heart of summer Bintliff's seems relatively sane. It isn't a run of the mill breakfast place, it may be a hair more expensive than other's but the food quality is fantastic. I love the eggs benedicts there and although I don't eat 'sweet things' the Creme Brule french toast almost broke my willpower. Recently a friend got the Veggie home fries which looked amazing and she said tasted even better. I am going to get that next time. I've also had the open faced corned beef sandwich which is also amazing. I can't say that I am that familiar w/ the dinner menu though the couple of times I have been for dinner has been good therefore I am just giving 4 stars because I don't know too much about the dinner experience. As for the brunch experience a definite 5 stars! It may look like a place that your mother would like (and my mother would be in her 80's) it is just a little frilly but well tended to.

After trying to get in several restaurants on a sat night all with 60-90 min waits - decided to try bintliffs. Been there for breakfast, and loved it...never been there at night. Walked in, and was seated immediately in a small side room, it was quiet, nice and a bit dark. Had to take out flashlight to read the menu and everyone else who came in, had to borrow it! Anyway - food - it was very good. Husband had sole with veggies, very good, and I had their burger that was absolutely delicious! With bacon, herb mayo, on toasted whole grain roll...it was top-notch and only $1 than anywhere else. Husband had bloody mary, he loved it..they are known for this drink;he was not disappointed. Surprised by the cuisine-in a good way. Stop in. you'll like it. Breakfast is their MAIN attraction..but dinner was pretty darn good with no wait; no crowds. Excellent waitress too! No complaints.

Yum! I've passed this place time and time again, and finally decided to check it out. I went for breakfast with a friend, and was not disappointed! The decor reminded me much of my grandmother's antiquated mini-mansion- gold mirrors, draping dark red curtains, and plush booths with windows in the back! It was a very elegant scene. As far as the food went, I thought it was delicious. I had the almond raspberry pancakes, although it was very difficult to choose off their menu since it had many different options that all sounded amazing! Some other dishes included creme brulee french toast, champagne-hollandaise eggs benedict, and many many more! I also had a side of hash browns, but was disappointed to find them similar to the ones at iHop- shredded potato without much flavor. Also, the prices were a bit more than I usually spend, for two people it came to about $40+.

We tried the brunch menu for the first time. Just like dinner, the selection, quality of the food, ambiance, and service were OUTSTANDING! The corned beef hash and the homemade omlettes were fabulous. If you enjoy bacon, try the bacon infused Bloody Mary for a beverage. You won't be disappointed. We will definitely be returning and bringing friends.

The best breakfast we've ever had on our annual trips to Wells beach! Every dish was great, with large portions. The most lox I ever had on a platter, and the corned beef was like a dinner! Wonderful friendly service - thank you, Susan!

I really wanted to like this place, but I was disappointed. My friends got a recommendation to go to this place. We sat at the bar which was nice, but I couldn't really tell what the theme of the restaurant was; kind of a Greek, kind of Italian - a little too eclectic hectic for me. Two of us had the burger which was very good, one person got the rack of lamb which was also fine. One person got the Sambuca shrimp and no one liked it. I also got a $9 cup of lobster and scallop bisque that had good flavor, but it had no meat in it at all, a total rip off.

Perfect place for breakfast, I had the vegetable home fires if you like veggies like I do this is a must have, there are more grilled veggie than potatoes. Great tea selection. My better half had the Lobster Benedict she had a hard time finishing it but said it was so good she could not stop eating it. I can't wait to go back and see if they can offer dinner food that is as good as their breakfast food. The decor is really special kind of formal but without the stuffy like most formal places. To top off the great food and superb atmosphere for wait staff was cheerful and friendly. Generally I don't rate a 5 because they is something that is not 5 star but I could not find anything.

I asked the wife what she would title this review, she said yummy, so there you have it. Stopped in on a Saturday night for dinner, a bit off the main highway but other reviews said it may be worth it as we like a fancy dinner. She enjoyed a Swordfish and Crab special (though the cream sauce was a bit bland), and I was very happy with my prime rib. At $27 and $26 a plate respectively, I would say it was a little overpriced. I try not to focus on decor much, but it definitely didn't do the food and price any justice. Our server was excellent however and it was overall a good experience. We'll likely be back but may investigate less expensive options in the area first.

Had breakfast here. It was excellent! The homemade corned beef hash and creme brûlée French toast were so good. I don't think I've ever had a better breakfast anywhere. The rest of the crew had some bloody Mary's with breakfast, (it was a later breakfast) and I didn't hear any complaints either. Have and will continue to recommend this place to anybody and everybody.

Got seated on time. That's the best thing that happened. Waited 15 minutes to get acknowledged. Placed drink order & the server dumped the drinks all over the table & us. Not much of an apology - just a new tablecloth. Service was incredibly slow after that fiasco. Server was more concerned with other tables. Manager never showed up to apologize. This is our last visit.

Food was one of the best breakfasts I've had. Very nice atmosphere, cozy and romantic and large inside with room for large parties. Portions are large and everything is fresh. The Espresso maker was ooo when we went but the regular coffee had excellent flavor, not that usual watery diner coffee, from a local roaster carpe tiem. The bacon was smokey, the cornbeef hash was not from a can and the creme brule french toast was to die for. It came with maple syrup and didn't even need it, but wasn't overly sweet. The bread was also fresh-made and very tasty.

Disappointing food. Nothing seemed fresh--even the hollandaise seemed to be made from powder. Corned beef hash was a heap of dry corned beef on top of what seemed like Sysco frozen hash browns. Veggie Benedict was not very fresh spinach, over-cooked broccoli and a huge, soggy portobello mushroom with an egg on top--quite unappetizing. Sorry to be so harsh but this seems like a restaurant that people come to for special occasions and the food we had was not made with the care and respect one would expect from the environment and prices. The fishy crab cakes were concerning and I was glad I only ate a couple of bites given the stomach ache I developed within 20 minutes of eating. 4 of us went for brunch and 3 of us felt queasy for a few hours after eating. Coffee was pretty rank too.

First time I visited Bintliff's was in January ~6 years ago with my girlfriend, and I just returned, this time with my wife (same woman), our 2 yr-old, and my mother-in-law. My impression of the place hasn't changed a bit. I've only been here for breakfast, so my review is based only on that. First, the minuses: prices are obscenely high, and I'm almost inclined to lower my rating to 3 stars just because of that. $3 for a cup of coffee, and $5 for a side order of bacon (4 very thick pieces)?? So, it's not a place to take the family every morning. The pluses: the menu is chock-full of items you can't find anywhere else. It is rare when I have difficulty in choosing from the menu because there are too many items I want to try, but this is one of those places, to the nth degree. Portions were plenty large enough, and the coffee was good and strong. I only wish I could afford to go more often and try everything. Our server was great; patient of my indecisiveness and considerate of our son (who was a little too energetic after 24 hrs of rain). Glad to see from some of the older reviews the menu doesn't change that often...over the next 15 years, I may be able to sample everything I wish. At $50 for 3 adults that we paid, they could serve two more families free of charge and still make money, so I expect them to be around. Go here for the great menu and food, but save up before you come. It will be worth it.

The crab and scallop soup was pretty good. But the Gorgonzola Chicken Wrap sandwich the waitress advertised was deplorable. Bland, wet, and forgettable. Why make it if its that bad?

Had brunch there a couple years ago and I still remember how amazing it was. The decor was eclectic and felt very fancy. I ordered a bloody mary and the corned beef hash...best I have ever had. Want to go back and try the dinner sometime.

We had a light dinner here and it was so good that we returned for breakfast. The breakfast menu was full of delicious-sounding items. We ordered the Creme Brulee french toast and the Veggie Home Fries, which were both awesome. The waitresses were very friendly. It was not crowded, which is nice to find in Ogunquit since it is full of tourists. There are many breakfast spots in the area, and Bintliff's had the BEST FOOD BY FAR.

I enjoyed a delicious pre Mother's Day dinner here with my mom and nana. The decor was cozy and elegant. I loved the large booths with farm windows. I got the lobster ravioli as my meal and they were yummy! My mom got the duck and my nana the baked haddock. Our server, bob was great! He was very accommodating friendly and nice. I definitely would come back here again. I am looking forward to trying the breakfast which also looks delish

The food here is really good. The decor is a bit much, but overlook that and enjoy the food and the great service. Billy at the bar is fantastic. Best bet is for brunch - their corned beef hash is to die for. For dinner, their Lobster Ravioli is very tasty! One of my faves in Ogunquit.

Our brunch at Bintliff's was quite disappointing. I had the corn beef hash Eggs Benedict. The waiter recommended it because they were famous for the corn beef. It was the worst dish! It was like eating a ton of pot roast with two tiny eggs on top. The hashbrowns were terrible! I've never had wet, soggy hash browns before. If you eat here, I would skip this dish. My husband had a lobster croissant that was pretty good. The coffee was the best part of the meal.

Bintliff's is a place of contrasts. Rather unappealing from the outside, quite elegant and distinct on the inside. Maine's crab cakes were rather mediocre, whereas their grilled goat cheese salad was heaven. In fact it w stole our stomachs. It's a genius of simplicity. Grilled cheese laying on sliced strawberries with mint. Taste it once, and you'll remember it for a long time. Staff is friendly, but she was in such a rush to finish her shift that she forgot to return my credit card. I had to inquire to restaurant manager, who looked for it, and returned it to me.

We had a great experience here. Came very close to giving a 5 star rating. First of all I have to mention their fantastic bread. Super fresh and soft. We had the crab cakes app. which at first glance seemed a little small but honestly made a delightful portion. We did feel the sauce with the crab cakes could have used something else to give it more of a zing. We both got the Filet oscar. Mine with the rosemary mashed my husbands with the twice baked potato. The filets were cooked perfectly and melted in our mouths the combination of the meat with the delicious sauce, asparagus, and lobster was a delight. We had a hard time deciding which potato was better they were both so good. The only downfalls of the night that stopped it from being absolutely perfect was that the service could have been more attentive. I wish I could give a 4.5. We will definitely go back. Looking forward to it.

The food is ok, but definitely portions are too much. I ordered the corn beef hash and the corn beef was very tender, but the portion was more than enough for 2. The clam chowder was more like a bacon chowder and the potatoes overcook. It's a decent place, but wouldn't go out of my way to come here.

Serviceable tourist restaurant. Unobjectionable except for the prices and staff grousing about each other . I should have asked the price for the pan fried trout special. Over $30 is too much. The house steak was 27 and was not tender or especially tasty. The drinks were good.

I love Blintliff's! It has been over 3 years since I was last there, it was memorable. My favorite meal was the creme brulee` french toast. 1.5 inch thick bread, thin caramelized layer, and fresh maple syrup with choice of grade. I miss Maine...Yum!

Had a family brunch here yesterday and I must say it it totally charming! Extremely cozy with velvet drapes and victorian accents. My eggs florentine was delicious and the has browns were cheesy and creamy and heart melting. It was a little pricey (about $50 for four) and the service was a little slow (though polite) but the food was amazing.

bintlifs is great for dinner and brunch! dinner is great becuase they have a massive wine list and a menu that is typical maine but with a city flair to it. your not going to be wearing a bib here. a big expensive yes but you get what you pay for. they also have baked brie which is served with apples, excellent. their brunch is even better. large portions and a bloody mary that will cure that hang over in a minute. not your typical brunch spot so i wouldnt suggest going to this place if your so hung over your gonna puke it up an hour after you get home. also if you do that alot you may be bulimic but that is neither here nor there.

Really nice ambience. Was hoping all of the rave reviews were true, but not for us. We had 5 people for a reservation at 7:30 pm. Service was attentive and professional, but we couldn't help but think we made a mistake by dining late. It seemed like we were standing ahead of the staffs desire to retire for the evening. The meals scored 3 out of 5. The filet's were terrific, the ribeye was the thickness of a minute steak and charred to a crisp. The beef Oscar was not appetizing. Really surprised given the other reviews. Perhaps a visiting chef, perhaps late night weariness, but at those prices, the staff and chef should always bring their "A" game.

You have never seen a restaurant decorated as sumptuously as Bintliff's Ogunquit. The food is superb, per usual for Mr. Roger Bintliff, and the service friendly, reliable, and rapid, but it's the drinks (real Absolut Peppar for the bloody mary, for instance, and making them even half as stick-to-your-ribs-thick as I like them) and the decor that really make this place stand out among the other fabulous restaurants in Ogunquit.

Have dined there for breakfast and dinner. The menu is inventive and they have the occasional chef special that the server or the most excellent bartender staff will let you know about. Chef Norm comes over to chat with customers frequently. Funky decor and the bar is a work of art. Can't go wrong here. Pricing is on par with the rest of the Ogunquit/Wells area. Good value for the money and they won't rush you out the door like so many other places in the area. Friendly staff.

Eclectic decor and decent service but food is overpriced and mediocre. Kids pancakes were okay but came with "blended" maple syrup which is a fancy way of calling it imitation. I ordered the smoked salmon platter which came with a buttered (?) toasted bagel, some smoked salmon (the bottom of which was edged in the gray gross part of the fish that no one likes to eat) and diced tomato and purple onion. Diced? Not sure if this was supposed to be a salsa? Because of the shape of the dice impossible to include on the bagel. Didn't eat much of it which was probably a good thing since I ended up with a stomachache for the rest of the day with the small amount I did eat. Also came with some scrambled eggs which were poorly seasoned and dry. Staff is young and pleasant although I don't understand why when a restaurant is 3/4 quarters empty they insist on shoving everyone into one corner? I am guessing much of this has to do with stations but it is unpleasant to feel like you are sitting on top of someone else especially while staring at a half empty dining room. Food expensive and not all that good and not worth a return trip.
