This place is fantastic. The food is consistently good, and the owners are extremely outgoing and sweet. They have a great tea selection, and the salad/soup/tea sandwiches are delectable! They also have a bakery shop in bake with yummy looking cupcakes. My fellow tea-goer always states that she wishes they would make mini cupcakes to have for the dessert. Must try.

Was here this past December. Other than being very pricey, it was a wonderful experience! Delicious food - even better tea! They even had vegan/gluten-free alternatives if you call ahead! If you don't, they will give you more of the couple things you can eat to Supplement! Lovey place and staff.

Enjoyed tea on a Saturday afternoon at the new location on Main Street. Enjoyed all the wonderful food, as well as the selection of teas. Particularly enjoyed the almond tea.

Robyn and Lisa, sisters and owners of Sweet Simplici-Tea, are absolutely wonderful! My daughter and I originally had reservations for another tea in the city, but when our reservation was mishandled, I had a very disappointed little girl all dressed up with nowhere to go! I called Sweet Simplici-Tea, and they could not have been nicer about accommodating us; even though they were very busy. When we arrived (about 30-40 min. from Balto. City, but WORTH IT!). Robyn and Lisa had a beautiful window table set up for us with Battenburg lace, china, silver and even a little teddy bear! This tearoom is exactly what you envision when you think of a relaxing experience. The custom blended teas were exceptional, the chocolate chip heart scones with almond butter were delectable, the salad: fresh, crisp greens, fruit, veggies with their delicious, homemade Poppy seed dressing, and finally, the finger sandwiches and desserts were just perfection. Robyn even matched the teapot cozy to my daughter's dress! Robyn and Lisa were so kind, the service was outstanding, the food was just perfect (you will want to take scones home with you!) and the atmosphere with all of the china teapots, vintage clothing and Victoriana will make you forget you own a cellphone! This tearoom is proper tea without the stuffiness. I have already told a dozen people about my new found favorite place!

Have been to sweet simplici-tea several times over the years. And I've never been disappointed, the food is always fresh and delicious. And the teas are wonderful too (and I don't usually like tea)! The decorations and layout is very cute and the employees are all very nice :) Mothers Bouquet is one of the best teas in the world, and their scones are to die for ;)

4/26/15- When I entered, I was shocked by the decorations of wedding dresses, baby christening outfits, trinkets, etc. Def not a place I'd usually venture into. However, I had the pleasure of visiting this unlikely venue for a "Bridal Tea". Now I'm a coffee drinker and I'm not one for frou-frou girly time but this venue with the help of the bridal party was a old-fashioned good time....and I started off skeptical for sure! The staff closed the store to the general public for our event although there were plenty of people attempting to pop in to patronize the shop during our event. They brought 2 tea selections out per table, a chocolate black tea blend something or other and a decaf tea. They were served in cute little tea cozies with a broad selection of sweeteners-lumps of sugar, raw sugar, etc. The chocolate tea was DIVINE, subtle...very...satisfying without being overdone. Then came the scones. These are simply the best scones I have ever had in my entire life. I don't say that lightly, either. I actually didn't think I liked scones until I had these. Warm, delicate, sweet but not overblown, almost floral in taste....and served with a myriad of jams. Then came the salads with an amazing poppyseed dressing. Pretty fresh mixed greens, cucumbers, tomatoes, all with bottomless tea of course! That is not all though! The next course was a 3 tier serving tray of mini pastry's, tarts and tiramisu's blueberry trifle's, and strawberry shortcakes...all in miniature and tasty...and of course the tea complimented all of it. The staff waited on us very eagerly and good-naturedly without intruding into the bridal activities. I actually wish I'd had such a great idea as to come to a place like this when I got married!

My mother has been twice and raved about this place. She asked me to share her experience on Yelp because she was so impressed (the first time she has ever insisted I write up a review on her behalf). She and her friends are big into tea. They've done many teas between the DC area, NY, London (of course), and the Cotswalds. Quite simply, she stated that the scones may have been the best she's had. Frankly, she found everything provided to be great. Service was great, and on her last trip they kindly accommodated someone with some dietary restrictions. Enjoy your tea. Cheerio :)

Delicious scones. Large selections of teas, the three that we tried were all good. I thought the sandwiches were just average but the scones were really great. My coworker and I happened upon this place by accident and were pleasantly surprised. We will definitely go again, if only for the scones.

The week we got engaged, my fiance and I stayed at a bed and breakfast in Columbia. While out exploring for the day, we decided to check out the shops in Sykesville on a whim, and came upon Sweet Simplici-Tea. What a lovely place to spend an afternoon! We sat and split 2 pots of tea, pumpkin spice and their Buccaneer blend, which were both delicious. We sat for a couple hours just sipping, talking, and enjoying each other's company, and never felt rushed. The staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable--she even gave us small sample bags of their Buccaneer blend and Royal Wedding tea as an engagement gift. :) I will definitely return, or at least order some of their tea blends to brew at home.

Sweet Simplici-Tea, where the teas yield anything but simplicity! Situated along Sykesville's quiet Main Street, this tea house offers English tradition, with a touch of local infusion. Menu choices range from a simple tea tasting, to a full spread of scones, spreads, salad, savory bites, sweet items, and soup. We opted for Victoria's Choice, which included tea, scone of the month, soup of the day, seasonal salad, three savories, two dispersant an edible fresh fruit garnish. The tea options seemed endless, and covered the entire tea spectrum (black teas, herbal teas, green teas, Earl Grey teas, and a number of signature and custom blends). I opted for a vanilla tea, blended with cocoa, for a delicious autumn-appropriate cup of rich, bold flavor. This was the perfect palate awakener, to make way for the soup of the day, which was a savory pumpkin, with crumbled bacon on top. The pumpkins, used for this seasonal soup, must have been pulled from the vine, earlier that day, because it retained all of the semisweet earthiness, and rich color, common to this gourd. A fresh green salad, was served with a slice of crisp fall apple, and a creamy poppy seed dressing. This was followed by a tiered stand of scrumptious savory items, including a tasty tomato tart, a cute round deviled ham sandwich, and a spiral of pimento cheese and bread. Above it, apple cinnamon scone, a creamy cinnamon butter-topped cupcake, and crisp tea cookies. Though dainty in appearance, these individual delectable bites, cumulatively fill you up! Inside of of the tea house, you'll find hundreds of one-off antique items on display, along with serving pieces, reminiscent of grandma's dining room. The owner, and her staff are extremely delightful to encounter, and won't let you walk out the door unless totally satisfied with your experience. Baked items are also available to purchase for home. I brought my parents a butterscotch pound cake, which illuminated their entire dining room with sweet, warm aromas, as they sliced it and served it. It seems to be a popular spot, so I recommend reservations.
