I grew up in E-burg, and this was always my go-to Chinese place. I even got my parents to come here, which is quite a feat! My dad doesn't usually like new things, but he loved the Egg Fu Yung, probably because of the gravy. I usually stick with shrimp fried rice, which is delicious, but they also have very tasty appetizers. After being poorly treated by another local establishment, we called China Dragon to make arrangements for after my father's funeral. Not only were they accommodating, they were cheaper than most other places in town. The staff is very attentive, I don't think my water glass ever got empty, and everything is delicious. I will always recommend this place to anyone in the area who wants some good Chinese food.

Last visit to China Dragon! This has been our go to place for Chinese food in Eldersburg for YEARS! Our regular waitress, who can work the entire dining room constantly filling waters and teas, serve our food hot and fast, and keep all the tables clean, even during lunch buffets, was not there. She knew us and would even know how my daughter likes her Singapore Noodles with no pork and extra shrimp (which is really tasty). Apparently she has been absent for awhile and boy did we miss her. Even if our super waitress were to return, the damage of this visit is too high for us to return. Due to pending snow conditions, we went to CD lunch buffet for a fast bite. The restaurant was a little busier than a normal Monday due to a holiday but not crazy busy. There were plenty of open tables even with 4 - 5 tables left filled with dirty dishes (should have been a sign of bad things to come). We were looking forward to the hot soup that comes with the buffet which the waiter failed to ask for our selection. Once we requested our soups, it came out cold. We politely asked for the soup to be warmed, which he eventually did but then proceeded to bring cold soup out to other patrons who also then had to bring it to his attention. The other patrons didn't even get the courtesy of getting it warmed up, it just sat there. Once at the buffet, it was almost desolate! Some food trickled out but not enough to meet the demand of the people in the restaurant. Only a few clean plates were coming out at a time leaving no plates for many of the waiting customers. Some people resorted in using just dessert plates which then disappeared too. Apparently the issue of plates left of tables resulted in no plates to offer for the next customers. Not sure why this did not register with the staff here. The FINAL insult of the meal came after the bill was paid. Much discussion took place regarding tip. Our experience was so bad, it was the FIRST time our family considered not leaving a tip. Both my mom and I were waitresses in our previous lives and usually leave more than the norm. It was decided to leave a small $2 tip since little to no service was provided. As we were leaving, the waiter looked at his tip and proceeded to raise his voice at us in the middle of the restaurant in front of other customers! An explanation was provided to him on why a proper tip was not awarded and we left embarrassed and angry by the whole ordeal.

Well, good-bye China Dragon. This was the first place we ever ate in Eldersburg when we moved here in 1992, and we have been fairly regular going here since, but we will not be back again. The last couple times we have gone, there is a man waiting tables. We asked where the normal waitress was; she was caring for a sick relative, we heard. Anyway, this guy is hopeless. Don't know who he is, but we had to remind him that soup comes with the buffet; the soup was ice cold, the buffet was almost empty and WAS completely empty of some things; there were no less than four tables with dirty dishes on them all the time we were there. Plates were stacked up all over; other customers were not served AT ALL; they ran out of clean plates and people were lined up waiting for clean plates to be brought out. Two others were with us and one lady said that maybe they didn't realize today was a holiday and it would be busier than a normal Monday (she is nicer than I am). When the check came and my husband asked how much tip to give, I said none! But he gave the guy $2, figuring that ALL the problems may not have been the guy's fault. THEN as we got up to leave, the guy comes over, looks at the check and says "What is this, four people and only $2 tip?" We could not BELIEVE IT! That did it. Which is why no more China Dragon. Sheesh.

We have been going here as our main Chinese place for years. The food is cheap, but tasty and the service is good. The restaurant is quiet but could use some updating. We usually do take out and our food is piping hot in 10 minutes from the time we call in. They have great lunch specials which are enough for 2 people, all for 6 bucks.

What's there to say about a chinese restaurant? All in all my visit this evening was ok - not great, but not bad either. The service was slow in the very beginning - probably waited a good 15 mins to order. Some my fault - some theirs though. The food was served fairly quickly and appropriately ... Soup first. Egg rolls second. Main course last. How was the food? Ok. My pepper steak was pretty bland - add the salt and pepper, but the Hunan Shrimp (although not quite spicy) was pretty tasty. If you're looking for awesome chinese - i wouldn't say this was the place, but if you're looking for that safe "traditional" chinese comfort food - it passes the test.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
