Bolen's is my personal favorite in the Eldersburg and Sykesville area for Pit Beef. Always fresh and extra lean beef. Their Pit Turkey is awesome too. Also, when racing to work in the morning, I call ahead for my Bacon, Egg and Cheese sandwich. Which is always waiting on the counter when i arrive. Small town service and great food. Basically sums it up.

Meaty Yumminess...This place is a carryout. They have an area outside to eat (think picnic tables). The reason why this is my favorite pit beef place is because you can get it rare or even extra rare...And they ain't playing around. Personal pet peeve is when I request something rare and end up with medium well.

This is truly a hidden local treasure. Although known for their barbecue offerings, be sure to try the "razorback chicken" sandwich. Although I've never sampled it myself, I see driving by in the morning they offer breakfast as well.

So today I figured my friend and I could go try Bolen's for the first time. After trying the food I would say, don't judge a restaurant by it's cover! This place is very easy on the wallet and I can't wait to go back to try some more things! I ordered the razorback chicken with tiger sauce (horseradish/mayo) with onion rings and my friend got the trio sandwich (beef ham turkey) with bbq sauce. +The razorback chicken: great sandwich, however when I return I would get bbq sauce instead because the horseradish became a little over-powering on my palette as I got deeper into the sandwich. It had chicken, ham, & cheese. +Trio sandwich: this was pretty plain and simple, but executed properly. It had beef, ham, and turkey with choice of toppings. I thought this was pretty good, it was stacked with meat and bbq complimented meat nicely. +Onion rings: these were fried perfectly and were nice and crispy. The Batter was good and I would order these as my side again. Just wish I didn't have to pay extra. -Service & decor: like I said, don't judge this place by its curb appeal or you will drive be right by it. Needs a remodeling, but for catering and carry-out how fancy does it need to be right! They take visa and MasterCard and the service was very fast which is perfect for a quick lunch. Only con is the decor and the man that took our order could've been a little more friendly, but he did answer my questions so that's minor. Hope this review helped any questions just please comment!

I had a pork BBQ sandwich with some gravy fries. I loved them both. The sandwich had small pieces of bark in it so that you knew it was smoked. The gravy for the fries had bits of beef in it. You knew it didn't come out of a can. It looks like a dive, but the food is very good.

Was heading down to watch a lacrosse game with a friend. We were on "the go" so we had to make a food pit stop really quickly and he drove me here. So glad that he did! I opted for the pit turkey, onions, w/ tiger sauce on their very well done and tasty bun. My friend gets the half pit ham/turkey sandwich with onions & bbq sauce. It's all good here, fast, & so affordable. Am I coming back? Oh yes and bringing pit lovers with me. I'll meet you there Yelp friends and oh yeah there is a pub next door.
