I am sitting at my computer right now eating leftovers from last night: Szechwan Green Beans with fried tofu, and Eggplant in Garlic-Basil sauce. Both dishes last night were really good, and the leftover eggplant today is good. Happy to be eating it.Just the right spiciness. The vegetables are fresh and cooked just right, not overly. Oh wait, need to wipe some garlic sauce off the keyboard! This Chinese restaurant has been a fixture for many years. It's the place that Jews see each other on Christmas. It's the place that you go to if you're with the family on the way home at dinner time with nothing prepared, and you just want to dine out. It's the one you order from if you want a hit of Chinese or sushi mid day or at 8 PM. This is your standard reliable neighbor, not too sexy or original, but solid. I am surprised to see some of the negative comments from other Yelpers. Over the years I've eaten here maybe 10-20 times. This is where my daughter wanted to come for dinner after her ballet performance. I can tell you that if the food was nasty or anything else, no way could this place have survived this long. The service last night, as always, was quick. I ordered and waited quietly at a table for maybe 8 minutes (they promised me 10) until the order came, all packaged and ready to go. The atmosphere is fine. Clean and bright dining room, small bar in the front (I can't imagine sitting at the bar!). My family has had the sushi from here in the past and it's fine, it's not the place we would go for sushi or for sushi takeout, but if we're there for Chinese and someone wants sushi, the restaurant is ready. Beer selection is nothing to crow about, and they have Tsingtao so no more need be said, that's what you get (over Bud or other domestic choices). Grand Fusion is pretty much what you want from a family-run, neighborhood restaurant: consistency, friendliness, good food, not exorbitantly priced. If I really want Chinese or sushi, I always go elsewhere. If I want something close to home, you can do a lot worse.

I really, really wanted to like this place! Close by, free delivery, great menu...... However, we ordered $50 worth of food, and threw out $45 worth! Honestly, nothing tasted fresh, or like it had ever tasted fresh. It wasn't seasoned correctly and tasted like some of my lame attempts to make Chinese food at home. Ordering on line was easy, delivery was great, but as we all know, it's all about the taste and quality!!

Nasty food, we ordered lunch sweet n sour chicken and one shrimp chowmein Chicken was edible but barely, the shrimp was rotten and the spring roll was swamped in oil, it smelled so bad I could not eat it. Please do yourself a favor and try somewhere else. Not worth the time, effort or money. The only good thing is they were fast.

I gave this place a second try. I enjoyed the shrimp and vegetable tempura and the Chinese rice. The rice had too many onions in it for my liking but the tempura was great. Service was a lot better this time. It was cold outside so they could have turned them temp up a little bit. I sat on the other side of the windows because their windows are pretty drafty.

I eat here a lot, at least every week or every other week. Most of the time I carry out, but occasionaly I eat inside. I try many different things on the menu and I have not had a bad dish yet. Everything on the menu is great. My favorite is the Kung Pao Chicken. I sometimes try the Pad Thai and it is better than some Thai Restaurants. The menu has a huge variety of dishes Chinese, Thai and Japanese. Prices are reasonable for what you get, especially in the Potomac area. The owners and staff are very friendly and they treat their customers well, like family and they always remember your name. Keep up the great work!

Tofu Satay $6 (3/5 NOMs) Dip, dunk, nom, Oh yea the dipping fun! Its one very delicies dipping sauce. You can pretty much use it for anything and it will be nomnom. That was about the only good thing in this dish. I wasn't a big fan of the tofu. I like my tofu to be crunchy crispy like the menu says. You know the kind of unhealthy deep frying that we all love! Good dish that you will enjoy for sure, but tofu not so much. Philadelphia Roll (4/5 NOMs) & Eal Roll (3/5 NOMs) $8 Its double the roll, You got to order their lunch special any 2 roll orders (12 rolls) for $8. Great value for your money! Philadelphia rolls was great with just the right amount of creamy cream cheese and avocado. I thought eal was abit bland and was not a fan of it. I recommend exploring their sushi menu with this lunch special. Egg Drop Soup $3 (2/5 NOMs) It dropped something for sure, Spoon after spoon it was just disappointing and thought that something was missing. I think it wasn't gooey enough and flavoring was just not there. I think the absence of flavor and texture made it a not so nomnom dish

This is our go to place for Chinese takeout! Food has always been good and has never disappointed. We generally get from the following dishes: Pan Fried Noodles (!!!) Chicken w/ Garlic Sauce Fried Rice Drunken Noodles Tofu in Black Bean Sauce etc. There is enough space for us to sit and enjoy our meal, but we like to do takeout from Grand Fusion instead!

First time here and found it tasty, good service. And pleasant atmosphere. We had the fried eggplant which was supposed to be spicy. I said light spice and although delicious , next time I will try out the dish as intended. The triple delight was just that and I always like combination lo me in. The lettuce wraps are excellent.

Do not buy vouchers off restaurant.com for Grand Fusion. The manager or owner didn't know I understood Cantonese! First of, he didn't know what it was because it appears that he can't read English. Another lady obviously knew about the restaurant.com vouchers and explained it to him. The guy complained about accepting restaurant.com vouchers. He said that he didn't want to deal business with them because if he did, how could he make money. Way to go, Grand Fusion, for being so unpleasant. By the way, for Chinese food, the food sucks. I'll stick to the restaurants in Rockville in the future...better taste and better priced. If it wasn't for the restaurant.com voucher, I wouldn't have even stepped into Grand Fusion. I didn't realized this restaurant was the same restaurant that I had tried once before. The food was lousy from what I recalled before.

First of all, let me start by saying that all Chinese food gives me diarrhea. So I'm EXTREMELY picky when it comes to choosing a new place (Sorry for the TMI). However, my boyfriend and I decided to give Grand Fusion a try one Saturday night because the reviews sounded pretty decent. We ordered delivery, so I can only speak on the food, not the in-house service. We ordered Wonton soup, Vegetable Spring Rolls, General Tso's chicken, and a Happy Family. All in all, the food was good and worth the price. I was kind of turned off by spending $15 for some general tsao's chicken, but the size was enough to share for 2 people with leftovers, so I wasn't mad at it. I was told delivery would take 35-45 minutes, but it came in about 25 minutes. What's not to love about that?! All in all, pretty good quality of the food, good price, GREAT delivery speed... and the best part of all... it won't mess up your stomach like other Chinese places. I would definitely recommend this place over any other Chinese delivery in Rockville.

Our regular Chinese place--we have them deliver about once per month. It is not the best Chinese food we have ever had, but the best place in the area that delivers to us (and we have tried them all). Overall, good and consistent, and prompt delivery. Unique good dishes include Beef Rendang and Salt and Pepper Shrimp (no shell on).

We went there for dinner , our first (and last) time and it's in our neighborhood. The place is pleasant inside. The food, simply put, awful. The egg rolls were cold, the shrimp overcooked and inedible. The beef and vegetable dish looked appealing although I did not try it. The sushi tasted spoiled, after one bite did not touch it. Left hungry never to return.

Not gourmet, not exotic, but ALWAYS reliable and exactly what I'm hoping for when looking for that old time comfort Chinese food. Good quality, right recipes, consistent cooking. What's not to like?!

I go here whenever I am home, for the last 10 years at least. Very common asian food but done very very well. One of the best chinese restaurants in the DC area, although they have a japanese menu as well.

Grand Fusion is the closest Chinese carry-out to our home so it is our "go to" take out place. I've generally thought of it as just OK but convenient. However, we ordered our usual collection of food last night, and it was a step up from what we have come to expect! I always get hot and sour soup. I have eaten Grand Fusion's hot and sour soup dozens of times. There have been times when I have had to add my own "sour" to the soup (rice wine vinegar) because someone had simply screwed up the recipe. Last night's soup was delicious: savory with just the right amount of tang. As well, the kids always get sesame chicken. Usually it is heavy on the fatty bit. But this was still crispy with large chunks of meaty chicken. I've always appreciated that they offer sushi. They have always done a nice job with this. My spicy tuna roll was very good. I know this review may seem a back-handed compliment, but I want Grand Fusion to know that their customers appreciate a renewed commitment to quality food. If that trend continues, I may even bump them to 4-stars. :-)

Charged my credit card twice and refused to reimburse me. Had to go through dispute with the credit card company. Was very rude when I got the statement and brought it to their attention. Check your statements after dining here.

It took 1:30 hours for us to get our food and our waiter blames the customer. The food is decent but the service is horrific. By the time we got our food I had retired and moved to the Bahamas. Your better off opening your own restaurant you would get your food faster.

Hands down the best Chinese food in the immediate area. Sushi is good as well. The owner and staff make eating a pleasure and take out is the key business.

I had shrimp fried rice for dinner. The dish seemed okay: not terrific, but not bad, and the portion size was so huge that I'll be eating the leftover rice at 2 additional meals. Price was reasonable. The restaurant was small but clean, and the server provided decent service, including admitting to one of the persons at my table that she had brought him the wrong soup and replacing it with the soup the guy ordered. We all were able to have separate checks. My dining companions seemed very happy with their sushi and Japanese and Chinese food. I'll have to return to try the sushi and Japanese food.

Food was delivered (that's good because most Asian food places don't deliver). It arrived hot and serving portions were large. The Hunan Chicken was not very spicy and the sauce was bland. Veg fried rice had good fresh ingredients but was also very bland. Shrimp lo mein was very good with a lot of shrimp in the dish- no skimping. I would order from them again, but will ask for more spice to the dishes.

We've been ordering from here for 4 years and have been very happy every time. Food is great. They always get our orders right and they always charge us correctly. I highly recommend Grand Fusion.

Great lunch spot. I love the kung pao chicken and hot and sour soup. Their dumplings are delicious too. The service is good - usually takes about 45 minutes for lunch.

Solid but pricey Chinese food. The drunken noodles are very good, but they're a nightmare as leftovers as the rice noodles clump together and harden. The Szechwan green beans and crispy beef are also pretty amazing. When ordering carryout, I'd recommend adding 5-10 minutes to their estimate; they're usually pretty busy and things get backed up quickly. No point in waiting there needlessly for an extra ten minutes.

Used online system for a large order. Called to confirm . Told after placing order and after designiated time for pick up...."Oh we don't have lunch specials today" Why wasn't this on the website? Why wasn't I notified by email? Why wasn't I notified by a phone call? I guess their way of making more $$$ on Christmas. So much for truth in advertising.

Ordered sushi rolls. They had way too much rice and no flavor at all. Very disappointing. Sarku in Montgomery Mall's food court is a lot better . . . .

Food is much improved from years ago. My kids loved their lo mein and steamed dumplings. I loved the pad thai.

Order a soft drink and they bring you a canned drink, this sets the tone. Heavy on the sauces light on the vegetables. I will say the staff is great, that is the only redeeming quality I can find in this establishment.

The sushi was utterly disgusting. They did not put any avocados in any rolls what so ever! I mean, who eats sushi without avocados?! Anyways, I ordered through takeout and though the delivery was quite quick, the food was cold. I did not enjoy one bit of the sushi. I had ordered the shrimp tempura roll which had no flavor, the spicy salmon roll which was disgusting and bitter, the spicy tuna roll which the tuna seems to almost go bad, and the gold fire maki which all was just bitter.

I eat here about every week. I love the variety of food from sushi rolls to sashimi to americanized chinese food to authentic chinese food. The atmosphere is very friendly and fresh. Must try dishes: California rolls Salmon sashimi Kingdom Pork chops Mee Goreng (noodles) Delivery service is excellent and you can order online too!

I link the percentage of Asian diners clues one into whether the restaurant is Americanized Chinese food (mostly sugared dishes for example) or actually a variety of Chinese. Not that rollicking chattering children trying to get out of their chairs or running around and under any table from their sugar rush doesn't add the fun of a carnival to a lovely dinner. But because this is a quiet, comfortable neighborhood place and off the beaten track one must go entirely by the food dined upon.. Sometimes the warm rich Hot and Sour soup is perfect but, too often you wonder if the white vinegar fell into the pot and got noticed too late. Other soups are as expected most all of the time. The Shrimp Lo Mein was completely satisfying with good sized Shrimp cooked perfectly and in good number. The cold Sesame Noodles had spicy warmth in every bite and like the Lo Mein its noodles are carefully cooked-YUM. I must mention two fantastic dishes. Soft Shell Crabs in Ginger sauce, there are two other sauce choices, and the Chicken Tomato Sauce . Yes, it is not at all Italian. By the way the bathrooms are very American style...clean, soap, and locks on doors. We also get delivery. On the last delivery to our home the manager apologized when we called for a forgotten item and drove the missing Hoison (plum sauce) for the Moo Shi Pork to my home. Exceptional for prices, very reasonable in Potomac. And food quality is very good even beyond the specials.
