I come to this starbucks all the time. It feels like cheers. They know my name. They know that I like whipped cream on top of my delicious $5 coffee. It doesn't feel like a regular starbucks and I'm not sure why. I've been to many starbucks. I enjoy people watching while I wait for my prescription to be filled next door at the Walgreens
A super busy Starbucks in Rockville. Free wifi (fast one) saved the day for me since I was 2 hrs early to my meeting. They have outdoor seating area which was a nice option for a nice fall morning. It's quite small so seating inside can be quite cramped.
This Starbucks is near two of my doctors' offices so I often find myself coming in for a post exam caffeine fix. It's a nice busy, friendly neighborhood 'Bucks. I especially like their plentiful outdoor seating, which is set up on a nice extra wide patio. You don't feel like you are sipping your coffee at the edge of someone's rearview mirror. This is a nice shopping center in a nice part of the county. I have never had a bad drink here, never had a bad customer service experience. You will encounter a fair number of privileged and entitled Potomac-ites - I find them irritating - but that goes with the territory of delving into their neighborhood. Maybe it's just the time of day I visit but one of my favorite things about this place is I have never seen a single teenager there! Only adults and adults with small kids. Also it doesn't seem to be taken over by BPWOO - Business People Without Offices. They are all up at the 'Bucks on Old Georgetown and Democracy!

I am tweaking my layering system for hiking/backpacking and needed a couple of new jackets. I was told about this place by a friend, so I checked them out on FB. Turns out they had a sale going on on Patagonia. BOOM! I stopped by on a dreary Saturday afternoon and Lindsy helped me figure out and finalize my system/choices. She was extremely patient, knowledgeable and helpful. I am very happy with my choices, and am sure I will hold on to these pieces for a very long time. I even ended up buying a sweet daypack! I only dealt with Lindsy so I cannot speak for the others that work here, but if they are all at/close to her caliber, then you are in excellent shape for sure! It takes a LOT to get me to drive out of DC to buy something (traffic UGH!), but I will definitely make a trip out to Potomac again to see these guys. Thanks!
I have taken whitewater kayaking lessons from Potomac Paddlesports, and have purchased equipment in the retail shop. Sunny Pitcher (the founder and CEO), has built a fantastic instructional program staffed with super cool people. I highly recommend all aspects of this organization. I have long wanted to learn how to whitewater kayak. Now that my kids are becoming excellent paddlers themselves, we decided to make this our new family activity. So, we jumped in with both feet this year: lessons; equipment; and lots of time on the water. My children have been learning in their camps and after-school programs, so I signed up for Potomac Paddlesports' beginner lesson package. It's a great deal, that you do at your own pace, that has taken me from total beginner to comfortably running rapids in just a few months. They use a simple, easy-to-use on-line lesson registration system that let's you plan out your entire summer schedule. Sunny himself teaches the classes, and leads all of the practice sessions. He often brings along additional instructors, who are all excellent, to break us up into small groups. Each lesson is well organized, logical, and methodical. Some people can do a sport, but not everyone can teach. Sunny and his team can definitely teach. They will demonstrate a technique, and not only explain how to do it, but also the logic behind it. When learning a new technique, it is not always inherently clear why they have you do it a certain way --- until you get into moving water. So, their explanations are very helpful. We have also purchased a lot of equipment from the retail shop. It is bright and clean, and well organized. Most importantly, it's staffed by paddlers who know what they're talking about, and have used the equipment themselves. They are good at helping you think about your needs, and how you'll use the equipment, so that you buy the correct items. And don't forget to leave enough time to hang out on the couch to watch the videos that are continually playing! What's been particularly fun for me has been to become part of the Potomac Paddlesports community. After lessons and after practice sessions, we often get together for meals, and lately some of us have started meeting up outside of class to go paddling on our own. I'm psyched to have a fun new group of friends! If you're thinking of learning how to kayak, or need any equipment, definitely check out Potomac Paddlesports.
Just took my first SUP class, SUP 101 this past weekend and all I can say is I am a fan of not only SUP but Potomac Paddlesports. The instructors who were not only easy on the eyes but fantastic in terms of explaining everything in laymen's terms. I am going to sign up for a membership and get ready for my SUP 102 class, cannot wait. Thanks for such a great time!

First things first, the sushi here is great. Great quality, great price, great presentation. My favorite roll is the Mt. Fuji roll- it melts in your mouth. Definitely try this when you're here. The kitchen dishes are also quite flavorful. I ordered the Mongolian beef, and the Singapore rice noodles. My friend got the salmon teriyaki and the kung pao chicken. All four dishes were cooked to perfection. The atmosphere in this restaurant is great; the service here is friendly and attentive.
First time here. Got the sushi deluxe, avocado roll, and avocado salmon combo roll. Very good. 4 stars. Will come back for more. Also had house fried rice and vegetable lo mein. Sub standard. 2 stars. Will not get chinese food here again. Average 3 stars. Irony is the people running the joint are chinese. Their sushi chef is hispanic. Based on my experience, and a great number of others the sushi chef is carrying the joint on his back. Hope he's compensated accordingly.
Super clean! Excellent service and the people are friendly. The Bistro is very authentic and the sushi is divine!

This restaurant is just what Potomac needed. The food is great and it is family friendly! I have already eaten here a few times and each meal was great. My father and I agree that the veal saltimboca is AMAZING!
My wife and I have been here twice, and were happy with the food and service both times. The staff were knowledgeable and very friendly.
I have been there twice. I am an Italian from NJ and have lived in Potomac for 22 years. I have never found pizza like the kind they serve in NY/NJ until now! The calamari was excellent and the meatballs were very good as well. The wait staff has improved since our first trip there. The noise level can get a bit loud but it is not bothersome.

Think of this place as a Greek-style fast food restaurant. Is the food going to compete favorably to a nice, sit down Greek restaurant? No. Will "foodies" rave about the amazing food? No. But... If you have the proper expectations, this is a very good place to eat a healthier lunch or dinner in a rush or on-the-go. The greek salad is fresh and I love their simple salad dressing. The hummus and warm pita bread is tasty and served topped with olive oil, paprika and kalmata olives. Nice touch. The kabobs are made fresh - like everything else. Service is quick and friendly. It's great spot for a quick meal and much healthier than traditional fast food.
Great service! Rosy was very helpful, love this place. I ordered my new favorite sandwich, the gruben. And was recommended to try the grilled potato salad. It was delicious! Fast service & everything tasted perfect.
I was not prepared to blow almost $60 here, I guess I got a little sticker shock when the cashier rung us up. Thankfully he gave us 3 free beverages, which took away a bit of the sting. My husband really liked his steak stack sandwich. The meat was moist and flavorful, and plentiful. My daughter loved her chicken pita pizza. It was laden with meat and cheese- they didn't skimp on it and the pita was great. The pizza came with a very nice sized fresh greek salad, which I should have just eaten as my meal. The hummus was fine, nothing special, but the warm pita bread is what saved it. I got the pimento cheese sandwich. It was GROSS. Too much cheese, the bread was soaked in butter/grease, not enough tomato, it was just almost inedible. Needed much thicker bread, or much less cheese. It was a salty, smooshy, mess. So, all in all, I'd give it 3.5 stars. Don't expect it to be a cheap meal though!

MoCo’s Founding Farmers

Reviews:
I had been literally DYING to come to Founding Farmers, when fellow Yelpers Chris L. and Ruth C. suggested we go for brunch one Sunday I was more than thrilled to jump in the car and head to MD. First thing I noticed was the planters right outside the entrance, serving as the permanent home to potted cabbages and cauliflower. Brilliant touch! The foyer was packed but I had used my trusty Yelp app the night before to make reservations with Open Table - I highly suggest you do the same. There are hundreds of reviews for Founding Farmers, I am pretty sure I share the same views as most of the people that have dined here so without a lot of detail, here is what I think... The Pimcup - a mix of cucumbers, mint, gin and tonic water, served incredibly full and blissfully strong. Deviled Egg Combo - Served on a wood plank, (2) each of regular, lobster, crab and smoked salmon. LOVED the lobster and crab varieties, not a huge fan of the smoked salmon, maybe too much smoke? Bacon Lollies - Okay, lets be real here, these are a gimmick and it is damn good too. Literally bacon, candied, served on a pitch fork. Benedict Arnold - A spin off the typical Eggs Benedict. English muffin topped with breakfast sausage, poached eggs and smothered in black pepper gravy, served with hash browns. - This was run of the mill blah, certainly not the flavor explosion I was expecting. The hash browns were bland, no flavor at all. I wish I had gotten the chicken and waffles! Red Velvet Cake - Okay, see, here is where you are going to be happy you waded through my rambling... get the red velvet cake, you'll thank me later. I don't even like red velvet cake that much, but this was to die for!! There were three of us eating it and still couldn't get though it, the slice was gigantic!! Beignets - It's a running joke among my Yelper friends to order beignets. We have had some good, some ugly and some that are flat out not edible. These were delicious! They were served with chocolate sauce, caramel sauce and raspberry sauce - we inhaled them! The service was upbeat but at times a little slow. I really can't fault our server, the place was full to capacity so drinks and food were taking a tad bit longer to come out than I would have liked, but that's par for the course when you are at a popular and packed place. I will be back - particularly to try the chicken and waffles.
I've now dined here twice and will probably return to try some other menu items later. First and foremost, I strongly suggest that you make a reservation regardless of if you're going for lunch or dinner, weekend or weekday. As huge as the restaurant is (2 floors with outdoor seating), it is almost always packed. Even with reservations, you most likely to have to wait a bit. Parking is a bit of a hassle and always in scarcity so just be aware of this as well. As soon as you walk in, you'll notice the noise level. Very noisy. But it makes for a happy atmosphere. The service is prompt, courteous and professional. The waitresses and waiters know their menu quite well. The food always takes a bit too long to come out but given that they make all of their dishes from start to finish, the long wait can be pardoned (slightly). I have had the Spicy Ahi Tuna Poke and the Goat Cheese Ravioli with Chicken Cutlet. The Tuna Poke was great and simple although I was a bit confused by the restaurant's use of the napa cabbage instead of lettuce as the salad base. Napa cabbage has a slight sweetness to it and is much, much thicker than lettuce. There were also thin pieces of white chocolate in the Tuna Poke; I couldn't tell if they were there accidentally or intentionally placed since the menu lacks descriptions of the dishes.. either way, these factors made for a memorable dish. If you're looking to get full though, or want something flavorful, this isn't for you. The Goat Cheese Ravioli with Chicken Cutlet is exactly as it sounds. There are 6 pieces of ravioli stuffed with goat cheese and 2 pieces of flat, fried chicken on top of buttered squash. I underestimated the 6 pieces of ravioli; there's so much goat cheese stuffed in them that I could hardly finish the 6th one. The dish was good, though just a tad too salty.
I have only ever eaten here for brunch. I have been to this location and the DC location an equal number of times, and I have to say I prefer this one. The food and service are consistently better. Not to say that I have never received frustrating service at this location (it is difficult to understand how I can be ignored at the bar when the staff is RIGHT THERE) but that seems to be low frequency and the food is consistent. I prefer this location for brunch and I am sticking to it!

I writing for cal tor in general. This is the worst by far of the big tex mex chains in the area. The first time I ate here I practically threw up. It was disgusting. When I'm forced to eat here, I stick to the basics- soft tacos and plain burritos. It's just a cheap tex mex place that tries and fails to live up to the others.
this location is always very clean and the wall of hot sauces is always perfectly organized and well stocked. would rather go here than chipotle.
I've only been to California Tortilla once, but it was pretty fun messing around with different types of hot sauces along the infamous Wall. BP and I went after a Softball game and it was really filling. I remember I wanted to try the turkey chili, but I think it was finished for the night (at around 7:00 pm). I'll have to visit again so I can write a better review for the place. I am eager to try their Gyro meal that is being advertised.

Do you like burgers? Go here. Now. Wait they're closed now. Go when they open. This is not a tip Yelp, but a review of the restaurant. That is all you need to know.
This is a decent burger joint. I wouldn't say it excels particularly in anything, but it's a good stop for burger, fries, and a drink. The location is at Potomac Park right next to Harris Teeter. You can probably catch a glance from 270 if you look hard enough. The ambiance is fun. It's an uptempo burger joint scene...one I think you'd enjoy. The burger is fine. I got the elevation burger so there are two paddies. I got the elevation sauce on the side, which was good because it wasn't my favorite. The fries are thinner, not quite show string but close. Pretty good 7/10. Overall, a good burger joint. I would probably pick a few more in the area over this one, though.
The food was good but it's a fast food place so the five stars has more to do with the service. Fadi was so attentive and really helpful in helping me (vegetarian) make the right choice for my lunch. He brought out ingredient lists and told me which sauces worked best. Great lunch!

Best pizza in town Delivery time around twenty minutes- wow Great team members!! Clean Easy to order on line
"Locally Owned & Operated" may be the bane of my existence around here. I ordered from here on Monday night--2 pizzas. One hand tossed with pepperoni, sausage and banana peppers. One deep dish with sausage, pineapple and jalapenos. Delivery was quick. Pizza was....well, it was completely wrong. Yes, we received one hand tossed, one deep dish. However, BOTH pizzas were made identically. The hand tossed was (accurately) whole pepperoni, half sausage and banana pepper. The deep dish was (as mentioned) the same....whole pepperoni, half sausage and banana pepper. NO pineapple, NO jalapeno, pepperoni on the whole of the second despite there being NO pepperoni ordered on that pizza, same with banana pepper. No pineapple, no jalapeno, despite it being ordered. I contacted dominos.com after receiving the incorrect order, they stated they would forward it to this one. Four days later, not so much as an apology, excuse or even acknowledgement on behalf of the owner. I will be sticking to others given the lack of response. I hate coming to this decision because I like the company as a whole, but if they can't even apologize for a mistake via email, I'm done. Too many other companies to deal with without wondering what I'll receive the NEXT time I order. My previous time they did almost the same thing....two pizzas ordered, toppings all screwed up.
The first time we ordered, the delivery was relatively fast. This last time, we watched the order bw processed online and it took 40 minutes to go three miles. Our food was cold and stale by the time it reached us. The carbon check was illegible and the driver was not friendly. I'll only order again because of my limited options and hope that delivery service will be better in the future. I regret tipping, out of habit, 15% for mere delivery.

Five Guys Burgers and Fries

Reviews:
These are my go to place for burgers. And now that they are like everywhere... I've already stop going to Burger King & McDonald. My only problem with Five guys sometimes are their Fries. Sometimes they forget to put a little salt on them or they come-out too soggy. Fries need to be seasoned well & crispy. But, they are the only place that gives out free peanuts while you wait. Nice touch.
Friendly service, clean establishment, and the food is typical top-notch Five Guys. I can't understand how some people would downrate it for just being Five Guys; if your issue is with the entire chain (for nutritional reasons or whatever), it doesn't make sense to take it out on an individual franchise. Also don't understand how some people can call it perfect and give it less than five stars, but I digress. Soapbox rant aside, I subtract one star because the music is pretty loud for such a small place. But all else is great here.
I come here once or twice a month on weekend evenings and it's always the same three dudes working. they are very friendly, cook all the food perfectly and keep the place sparkling clean. def my fave 5G's location.
