I would give it a fat zero if it werent for the free wifi and large seating capacity. The proprietor/owner--whatever obviously has no idea about food quality or value, Ive been here about 5 times and the first few times I ordered a coffee and a pastry, or just an ice tea; no big deal here, typical cafe offerings for a popular chain--nothing to rave about. But the last couple visits? I actually ordered food, boy was I disappointed. The sandwiches are outrageously priced for what you get; I ordered a breakfast sandwich and the bread was stale and fell apart, the potatoes were cold and also stale, and they give you about three bites worth. I was in a rush and was really hungry, otherwise, I would have complained. My bad...second, time I got a smoked turkey sandwich with avocado--hold the bacon. The bread wasnt stale this time, and the smoked turkey was great...but wait a minute, where was the avocado!? Wow, a sliver of the green/yellow? Wtf!? For a sandwich and chips it costed me $8. Really? My advice, dont come here if you're really hungry. Definitely not worth it...I still grab a drink or pastry and enjoy a lil wifi, but on occasion--their loss. You win by default CBC! Panera has left Germantown, another unsolved mystery....

My absolute favorite restaurant chain hands down, now my favorite location would have to be the Rio one. This one had opened up recently which was a wonderful surprise as my boyfriend works down the street and regularly surprises me with my favorite Chicken Pesto sandwich. Now I've had that sandwich countless times from the other location, but only three times for the new one. I was taken aback when there was a huge bone in my sandwich, sure mistakes happen, but it was a big bone.. Almost cracked a tooth! This obviously won't stop me from eating there, just wanted to bring it to light so maybe they'll be more careful in the future. I also do enjoy their desserts! They can sometimes be a bit dry depending on the time you come by, if it's freshly baked or if it's been just sitting there. Love Corner Bakery! And added bonus for their call-in and pick-up service!

Way overpriced for the quality. I ordered a chopped salad and it was nothing more than some chicken with what looked like a bag of iceberg lettuce. I had to go back and ask for the rest of the stuff that was supposed to be in it.

My wife and I have now stopped in twice while out riding our motorcycles. The first time was coffee only. The second time we actually ate and did a combo. I took a star off because my wife's panini was lacking bacon that was supposed to be on it. However, it was so good that she didn't realize until about half way through. The mac n cheese was very good and both came out at a good temperature. The staff has been courteous and the place is clean. We will definitely be going back.

Why did I eat here? I do not know. What a waste of calorie intake! The food was tasteless. Theres nothing that makes me more angry than spending $ on horrible food. Corner Bakery is not what I remember it to be. (11 years ago when it was good) I will never return to a corner bakery ever again. Dumb move to get rid of Panera Germantown. Tsk Tsk. I would have been better off hitting up Burger King.

After a light and yummy meal, my father, reaching for his keys, slipped in the parking lot and the keys went flying...right into a nearby storm drain. Mike, who I believe is the manager on duty tonight, deserves a medal. It is snowy and cold here in the DC area at the moment so this little fumble could not have taken place at a more miserable time. Not only did Mike help us remove the heavy manhole cover on top of the drain, he then proceeded to lay on the cold wet cement with a ladle in hand, my brother holding onto his ankles, and went face first into the depths of a cold, dirty, leaf filled storm drain to retrieve my dad's keys. When this method didn't work the first time, he came back with another tool he'd fashioned himself and went back down, head first, into the disgusting drain to fish the keys out of frigid waters. Mike really saved the day. My dad had driven six hours from his home in Troy, PA to spend the weekend with us so it wasn't like we had spare keys laying around nearby for him to drive home with. He truly is an exemplary human being and we could not thank him enough. We've always loved your food but now we love your employees even more!!

Breakfast was not bad... What annoyed me was I was charged for the side of fruit that would have been the option. Did not notice until I got back to hotel room.

Horrible service. I ordered a bowl of soup on Sunday morning and had to wait more than 10 minutes until I went over to the counter and asked if the food was being ready. They totally forgot about it and didn't even apologize. They said they will have to heat up the soup in the microwave, so I said I would wait. 10 minutes later, I still didn't have my soup.. Asked again. And they said "we don't have soups ready in the morning" What?? After more than 20 minutes of waiting for a bowl of soup, soup was not available.. I got refund for the food but their service has to be improved!!

Decided to give this place a try for lunch. Ordered 2 sandwiches to go. 35 minutes later I am handed a bag. I quickly check to make sure the order was correct, since I cannot quite fathom what took so long. One looked correct, the other, a mozzarella and tomato sandwich, was some kind of roasted chicken thing. I then wait for another 5 minutes to discuss this with someone and I'm asked TWICE if I am sure about what I ordered. I have been a vegetarian for 20 years...one day I will stop sporadically ordering myself meat. Seriously?!

This was a waste of money and most of all time. The food was horrendous and it took forever. I ordered a scrambled egg sandwich with avocado, tomato and cheese and it was on sourdough toast. We waited for 20 minutes and it was disgusting. The bread was heavily buttered and there were just egg and tomato "crumbs" which were burnt. I didn't even take a bite. Then I went to return it and they were so confused. My husband's egg sandwich was cold and he was ill when he left. We were super disappointed. I thought it would be a similar experience to the Rio's Corner Bakery...guess not. :(

I have been here a lot. I wrote a novel at the place. They are without question nice, courteous, hard working, etc. Sure, after 100 visits there are a few hiccups but they do well. Plus, free USA today's to read! Keep in mind, I generally get coffees or lattes, and a bagel so I don't eat a lot, I am really talking about the service. Outstanding!

I always WANT corner bakery to be good. Food is ok. But the service turns me away every time. Not surprised it's empty at 10am on a Saturday. Atmosphere is pleasant until u meet staff. Today no one was at the counter for several minutes despite 7 people running around doing nothing (I mentioned it was empty). I was greeted with "you ready?" Followed by "that's it?". Manners people!!! Will just go to Panera next time.

I used to frequent panera bread until I stumbled across corner bakery. Food is absolutely amazing, establishment is always clean and staff are super friendly. There are a variety of things to choose from--I advise everyone to try their green tea tropical, it's very refreshing. My only complaint is that food is a A bit pricy.

Ordered pancakes and they tasted like onions and other spices. The only other time I've been to one of these was at Montgomery mall years ago. I had a similar experience with a sandwich that had an odd flavor. The people here are nice but the quality going into cooking needs some " advise" or other.

We were really excited to try this place for the first time. The menu was appealing, and there was a line to the door (which can be a good sign, if people are willing to wait!). I will note that the options are limited if you are vegetarian, and nill if you are vegan. After we ordered, we found a (clean?) table. There were a number of tables waiting to be bussed. The condiment containers were all gross, and a lot of things needed to be restocked on the condiment/drink/silverware counter. Our food came out cold, and my "side of potatoes" was teeny tiny (about 10 home fries total). Needless to say, we were disappointed.

Good food, nice kid's meals, friendly service, fast prep, but the ordering can be slow. The grilled shrimp option in the evening is excellent. For $4 they add two flavorful grilled skewers (8 shrimp) to your entree. The current version of Corner Bakery (CB) isn't what it used to be. They are a less appealing Panera but with an an attempt at more home cooked menu items. I remember the first time I went to a CB 15 years ago...it was the one down at Rio, man that was good. It was like an American version of La Madeleine...shelves of delicious fresh backed bread, excellent side dishes and a chow line that let you look at it all and point at what you wanted. It was great. I suppose the competition from the more efficient Panera was too much and they re-invented themselves, to our loss. The charm used to be that you could smell the fresh baked items and see the food being prepared, that's gone. That bit of nostalgia aside, the food is good! They also make a nice latte (ask for it in a mug, instead of a to-go cup, and it is much more enjoyable). The pastas are good, the salads are very large and flavorful, and the service is quick. The ordering, as I mentioned, is always kind of slow in the evening. The place isn't crowded but there is always only one person working the register who never seems to really know the menu, so it takes longer than it should to place your order. I'm not sure if it does enough business to pay the rent at this prime location, but I hope it lasts. At least until the next time CB re-invents itself. It'd be nice if they could bring the bakery back to the front of the restaurant. It's what brings us in!

I'll start with the good about this bakery cafe. First of all, their Mac & Three Cheese is amazing. Every time I come here, it's perfect. On the downside, service is slow and none of the employees seem to know what they're doing. Very mediocre. If I were you, I'd skip Corner Bakery and go to Panera instead.

Wife and I came in 15 minutes after opening to be told oatmeal wasnt ready and the staff rolled her eyes at my wife when my wife said you all have been open for 15 minutes. They then had to flip menu boards so my wife could make another choice. Place has taken a turn for the worse since old GM departed several months ago. We used to eat here at least once a week and now my wife just said we arent coming back!

I used to come here all the time before I moved away a year ago. Customer service is seriously lacking. I finally had to ask cashier if she was ready to take my order after waiting a few minutes. I remember being greeted immediately in the past. Menu had changed and my daughter ordered her favorite dish which is no longer part of the trio. Kitchen guy (I guess) came out with earbuds still hanging from his ears 10 minutes later to question order. Was able to give her what she wanted. Almost no one was here when we arrived but a few tables were still waiting to be wiped. We wanted a lemon bar but none were in display. When we asked if any were available cashier didn't know what they were but found one in a cooler. She gave it to us in plastic box. In past it would have been plated. No one ever checked on us or cleared our plates. In past manager always came around to check on guests. Food was decent, just not as high quality as I was used to. Kids asked not to be made to come back.

We've now been waiting 40 minutes for two breakfast sandwiches. This place has a great location that they are squandering. I actually feel bad for them--the staff are in need of training and better management. Husband is now on his way on to get a refund and we'll go somewhere else. (The iced tea is good and quick because we got it ourselves)

I am not sure why they only have a 2.5 rating? I came in and was greeted promptly and pleasantly. I placed my order for a BBLT and a strawberry banana smoothie. The cashier smiled and handed me my number, I sat down, the restaurant is very clean and nicely appointed. One of the 3 servers brought my lunch to me with in 10 minutes and she was very nice. The BBLT was very good, the bacon was cooked crisp but not overly, the lettuce and tomatoes tasted fresh. I would not hesitate to recommend this place to everyone, at least for lunch.

Stopped in while I was waiting on my car to get its windows tinted. I got the ham n Swiss breakfast panini and a coke. The panini was good and not to much food, I like that. The guy was also nice taking my order and let me take my time to look at all they had. I don't live in the area and just in town for my car, but I recommend for a quick bite.

Panera used to be my go-to for weekend morning breakfast dates with my toddler but it's always an s-show in there. We happened across Corner Bakery for lunch one day (we recently moved to the area) so I decided to give it a go for breakfast. The food is fine. I prefer to Panera food but the reason this place gets 4 stars instead of 3 is because it's always so quiet and pleasant. They bring your food to the table so I don't have to stand around a counter waiting for my order to come up and then carry it to the table while corralling a two-year-old with my legs. That goes a long way in my book. Plus, the people who work here are always pleasant.

Took 25 minutes to get cold Mac and cheese and a cold panini. Service is pathetic, everyone looks mad, and there was a lot of attitude between employees.

Great place for lunch. The turkey pretzel is awesome. Tomato basil soup excellent. Staff is friendly and accommodating. System of order and table delivery is efficient. Read some of the other reviews and have never had a similar experience. I come hear at least once a week. The monster cookie with mini M&Ms are a periodic indulgence.

Expensive for what you get. The chicken noodle soup was bland and greasy and the chicken salad sandwich was ALL bread. The total cost for soup, sandwich and large drink....$15.02. Way too much!!

Initially, I was annoyed. One of the managers resolved the specific issue this time. He, not the restaurant, gets 3 stars. Cashier gets a D. Ordered a Power Panini Thin w/o any cheese. Not a problem. But requested the avacado with a side of chicken apple sausage. I wouldn't have noticed the difference in sandwich price if I could have tasted the avocado. But I had to look hard for less than 1 tablespoon of avocado. I went to the manager, who got me 2 additional little pieces. Then I noticed that I had been charged by the cashier for the sausage panini with an additional charge for the avocado. I spoke to the manager, who gave back the additional avocado fee. That was nice. But the company needs to do things a bit differently, and train the cashiers accordingly. Until the refund, it felt like bait and switch. Thanks manager. Though I still don't think you understood my point. This is from an experience last week.
