Mmm i am an ihop regular so i could totally relate to everyone's reviews. This ihop is literally a hit or miss. Some days you go the food is great the staff is on point.other times you not so much.Their food can be veryyyyy bland sometimes perhaps different cooks.Recently i do notice they are getting better.the waitresses are much friendlier with the exception of a few i guess good help is hard to find these days(rolling eyes).Since ihop and i are in a long term relationship i will continue to visit. It's ihop dont get your hopes too high!

WTF. Every time I come here I see new people waiting tables. The only reason I come to this ihop instead of the Gaithersburg location is to see Maria. I wish they can keep their staff around long; because the last two time I came the people that waited on me were new and I need an experience waiter to work with me and my family.

It's just like every other IHOP. I've been out here for about 4 months out of the last 6 for work and probably average about 2 breakfasts a week here. I haven't died yet. *crosses fingers*

I can't stand managers who think they are royalty.. I was there earlier this week and the place was short staffed. Customers were mad... Waiting to be seated, food orders taken or waiting for their food. This place isn't Ruth's Chris so no one should ever have to wait 30 minutes for a 5 minute meal. Our waitress was either new, overwhelmed or in la la land. We waited and waited,,, and saw some girl dressed in black hold a magnetic key. So I guess it was the manager , she just stood there like queen Elizabeth while the wait stuff tried their best, most decent managers would help out in any way... This manager was a true itch. She snapped her wait staff rudely , our food was cold , my eggs and my meats were cold, ugh,,, anyways our waitress never checked on us... Until it was time to pay. It's better to cook at home... I rather have my hubs put on a an apron and serve me breakfast in bed or vice versa... Maybe it's just moco ihops that sucks when it comes to service ... Or maybe one should never come at night .. I should come when the golden girls come in the morning...

The food was fine this review is more about the service. I came to this Ihop for the first time on Sunday (about 2:30 am Sunday morning) my server was Jetina. She was a good server I mean she introduced herself, was friendly go us our food I mean she was fine. Then another customer came in and sat 2 tables behind us, Jetina went over to the table introduced herself and asked if he was ready to order. The man was super nasty to her and wanted her to read the menu to him she explained that this late at night there is not a full menu and he would need to review the menu to see what he wanted. She gave 2 or 3 suggestions and the man got so nasty with her, she said she would get another server. So out comes the "manager" Samantha (I use the term manager losely). Samantha was horrible not only did she put down her Jetina to the customer but she told the customer she would disipline her and that she is working 2 jobs to get out of debt and all this other personal business. Samantha was horrible stood there and talked to this customer and BASHED Jetina for over 30 minutes myself and other customers just kept staring in shock. I have never heard a manger do such and was so disappointed. YOU NEVER treat your staff that way especially when they are in the wrong. I plan on calling the GM about this b/c as a manger she was out of line. Although the food was fine (out of prov cheese though) the manager was just trash and I hope she gets handled the same way she talked about Jetina being handled.

"We are too busy to make a milkshake." What kind of server would refuse to take a drink order from her customer?

I love bringing my boys here. This IHOP is very welcoming and everyone is polite. My food always comes out hot and right. My sons love eating here too. I think if they could they would eat at IHOP a everyday! Excellent service!

Gotta admit, I hate waiting on food but my son took us to breakfast and I griped the whole time about the wait, which was 20 mins as promised, but once We got our food, it was another 25 mins but oooh man was it worth the wait!! I ordered the ham n cheese omlette with mushrooms, peppers, n onions.....surprisingly the waitress, 'Susan' remembered every detail of our order and got it right!! Told my son to tip her 20%!! hope she got it!! ...food and service were great!!!! Nice organized place!! Thanks Ihop Germantown!!

The food at this IHOP has always been good. The service has been the issue. Each time I have visited the service has been extremely slow despite not being overly crowded. I typically order their meat sampler which comes with a portion of ham, bacon, and sausage, eggs, hash browns, and a bread. Sometimes I go with the corned beef hash dinner, which is always a favorite of mine and I cannot find it everywhere. As I mentioned, I have never had a bad experience with the food. But, it seems like all servers go on break when I arrive. I will say, the manager was aware of the long wait on my last trip there. He was very apologetic and gave us a discount at check out for the inconvenience. If they could find a way to speed things up, I would love to update this review! I will be back again!

WORST IHOP EXPERIENCE EVER! This location is very busy. My BFF and I waited over an hour for two meals to be prepared for take-out! I get it! I get it! IHOP is no fancy smancy restaurant to dine, but good service should never be compromised at any restaurant level! All staff looked confused, like they didn't know their place and/or where to jump in to help!

So service was good but food was terrible, i ordered country fried steak. My steal cam out so thin and over cooked and it seemed to have alot of bread, eww. My wife and daughter siad there eggs and sausage were terrible.

So I went here last night and I heard from one of the waitresses that they just got a new chef in. The eggs he made were on point! I haven't had good eggs like that in a while - fluffy scrambled eggs and still moist vs it being dry. The hash needed to be cooked a little bit more though. Our waitress was very attentive. I prefer this IHOP over the other one in Gaithersburg.

What can I say, it's IHOP. I visit IHOP after church with friends maybe once a month. I'm not a fan, but somehow always end up here. My eating companions normally suggest this place. It is always a long wait. A Fairfield Inn is right across the parking lot which makes the wait longer than most IHOPs. The food is okay when you get it. The service is awful. This past Sunday, our server walked up and asked if we were ready to order. No smile, no good morning, no hello my name is..... Maybe she was having a bad day...as the hour went on she did eventually give us a crooked smile ....bless her heart she was trying. I ordered a Double BLT on wheat. She bought out a Double BLT on white. She took it back but then I was a little nervous about eating the sandwich....it was okay but I couldn't find the bacon, but the lettuce and tomatoes were good ....LOL...oh well. Next after church outing I will definitely put my foot down and go somewhere else.

Since my last review Elizabeth (manager) has been great. She has update the staff did a wonderful job doing quality control on the food and dishes. She also a GREAT AND AWSOME MANAGER AND PERSON! I have been back with my family and friends and the service is tiring around. Some of the waiter need to be more attentive. A big shoutout to Elizabeth for being AWSOME to me and my family.

Our waitress was wonderful. She took good care of us when we came in but the biggest compliant I have about our night was the food and the manager Samantha who was horrible. I believe that chef was not cookig but the manager Samantha was in the back cooking which as a manager I believe she should know how to cook every food on the menu but she proved my fiancé and I wrong. My fiancé ordered an omelette with pepper jack cheese turkey bacon and sausage but what he got was the complete opposite. I took a picture of the food that was served to him which looked horrible. My fiancé didn't eat it and we left highly upset. :(

We were welcomed by a very peppy, friendly waitress. She made sure everything was perfect and it was! As far as an IHOP experience goes, the place was clean and the food was delicious. My husband ordered a veggie omelette that he loved, and I ordered the CinnStax French Toast, which by the way, really does taste like a Cinnabon Cinnamon Roll. We had an enjoyable meal and a satisfying IHOP fix.

From the moment you walk in they make you feel welcomed. Service is always excellent. Every time I dine in, waiters are always pleasant and professional. Food gets 5 stars service. My kids and I enjoy love this place.

I have had all good interactions with this ihop and staff. A waitress did ask why I mainly get to go food but once she realized I work over night she was more than apologetic. The management here is awesome.

This IHOP is our favorite hangout spot. It's not exactly gourmet food (but it is comfort food) but it's really the service that keeps us coming back. Maybe we have just gotten lucky, but we have had really sweet servers here, who treat us like VIPs. We actually honestly do prefer it to a fancier restaurant experience. Sure, we can all afford to pay more for a sophisticated night out, but we really would rather chill out here. We often spend 3-4 hours chatting and chewing, and we leave super happy.

Easily the worst restaurant I've been to in the last year. And at 2am on a Sunday morning, my standards are pretty damn low. So congratulations IHOP, on earning what would otherwise be a -3 star review. (Yeah, that's a negative 3.) Where to begin? The food. It sucks. I don't know how you fuck up scrambled eggs, but these guys can do it. Is there a Food Haters Channel you watch to learn this skill? Did you see it on an episode of "Plastic Chef," you know, that show where cooks from The Waffle House compete against a retarded kid and his EasyBake oven? Soda. Why does the Coke here taste so bad? Are the glasses dirty? Probably. Do you ever clean the nozzles on the soda fountain? Probably not. Do the people at Coca-Cola know that you've managed to contaminate the taste of a 100-year American institution? For your sake, I hope not. Let's move on to the pancakes. A dry and rubbery syrup sponge, without flavor or purpose. For a moment I considered saving them and retreading my car tires, because they certainly weren't meant for consumption. Again, pancakes are a pretty simple recipe, but you guys have discovered a way to make them suck. Congratulations. Let's move on to desert. The hot fudge sundae I ordered was served up in a soup bowl. Why a soup bowl, you ask? Because it no longer qualified as ice cream. I was handed a bowl of cold sugary milk with some gelatinous brown gunk on the bottom posing as fudge. At least top it off with whipped cream and pretend it's still a sundae. Maybe they were hoping I was so drunk that I wouldn't notice. When I asked the waiter for an explanation, he told me (with a straight face), "that's the sundae you ordered." Then he added, before turning and walking away, "it must have sat out too long and melted." No shit. So bring me one that's not melted, you asshole! Or some Cornflakes for this one. It takes balls to serve a bowl of completely melted ice cream, and then act like there's nothing wrong. It takes some HUGE balls to still charge me $5 for it. If you're gonna put pictures on the menu, at least try to make the food look like the pictures, so I don't need the waiter to help me figure out what's on my plate. IHOP.... I was hoping you'd get at least get one thing right tonight. But when you screw up the eggs, the pancakes, the sundae, the soda, AND the service, I think it's time you all hang up your greasy aprons and start applying to trucking school.

"Kids Eat Free Wednesday" but what they don't tell you is you have to buy 1 adult drink and kids drink which basically is the same as paying for a kids meal. Plus you must buy one adult meal for each "free" kids meal. Basically after you've payed for the drinks you end up having payed more than you would have if you just payed the $3.99 for the kids meal. I left kinda feeling a little cheated.

Pretty bad omelet and pancake for lunch last week. I'm from Vermont, so any maple syrup that isn't real also isn't going to win me over. But, I'm a snob when it comes to such things. My company was terrific and that was the highlight of the IHOP experience.

If I were writing a review on my waitress, would have given 5 stars, from the time I walked in to the time I was seated. Top notch, professional, friendly and genuine! I went out for a late night walk Thursday night (June 26) and started feeling hungry. It was about 1 AM. I saw the IHOP and it was open! I couldn't remember the last time I had a great breakfast so I figured I'd go for it. I ordered the breakfast sampler with an extra egg (over easy) and wheat toast instead of pancakes... Two minutes before my food arrived, another waitress seated a group of 8 people in the (6 person) booth next to me. They pulled up 2 extra chairs to sit on the end. There were 2 more booths between mine and the next one that was occupied, so it would have been easy to leave a little buffer. The dialog at the table was nearly unintelligible, consisting almost entirely of the "F word" and "the N word". I stood up for a moment and thought about moving myself to another table. I picked up my glass of diet Pepsi, then my food arrived... My food! Heinous! Obviously, they had the flat top griddle turned up WAY too high! My over easy eggs were browned on the outside, yet just barely cooked. Runny clear egg white inside and the yolks were like yellow water. The toast was wet and cold, I had to go and get my own butter! The hash brown potatoes were nice crispy and browned on the top and bottom, yet the inside was cold mush! The 2 sausage links tasted like seasoned plastic, the ham slices tasted like salty shoe leather. The two "strips" of bacon were OK, but I wouldn't call them 2 strips. They were two HALF strips of bacon! As I started to eat, a large purse came flying from the next table, hitting me in the back of the head. I moved to the other side to attempt to finish eating as quickly as possible, when yet another purse was hurled in my direction, just missing me by an inch. At that point, I felt it was in my best interest to leave. I stood up, walked to the front desk, paid my check and got my butt out of there! I did notice, however that every section of the dining room was open and wondered why I was seated where I was. I walked out the door and within 5 minutes I began vomiting. I was on my hands and knees in the parking lot in serious distress when one of the members of the adjacent table came out for a cigarette. He yelled, "Yo dog, you shouldn't be drinkin so much!" I made my way home where I spent the next 3 days running back and fourth to the bathroom. I seriously thought I was going to die! My advice: AVOID THE GERMANTOWN IHOP AT ALL COST!!!! Starve to death before walking into this place! I would have been more satisfied with a can of cat food than eat their garbage or endure their seating arrangement! HEINOUS! REPULSIVE! DISGUSTING! FOUL!

We are there on Sunday, January 25, 2015. Three of use (who are the same thing - bacon, eggs, pancakes) came down with good poisoning. This was the only time that the three of us are together so it must have been something at the store. If you've had a similar experience there that day please report it to the Montgomery County health department.

Just finished with late breakfast. Food was delicious but the service was less than desirable. This is our families favourite place for breakfast so to isolate the issue, kitchen is good because the food was good, server was ok but never checked up on us. We wanted to let her know that coffee tasted like it was from bottom of the pot. Food gets 4 stars service gets 2 stars.

The general manager here is far from a decent manager. He walked over and asked us to leave because one of our guests got sick and threw up. Never in my life have I had manager ask me to go because someone got sick. He preceded to be rude to us. I work in the restaurant business and this IHOP is terrible. Terrible service and a terrible staff.

I can understand what people are talking about in these reviews. Some days you might get good service and food, other days you'll have better service elsewhere. On the good days, it's prompt service, food comes out quick and the server is especially nice. On two separate occasions my friends and I have come in for a late dinner after we get off work, and never got served. The first time we waited for 30 minutes on an empty nice, and not even a glass of water reached our table. The second time we waited 20 minutes, and again, no one ever showed. In high school I worked in food business so I can understand that it can be get busy and one may lose track of time, but on a slow night?? I saw at least 3 servers walk by and not even acknowledge us. I can't say that I'd never return to IHOP because I do enjoy coming here. I just wish I could get some water and place my order.

"Samuel Colt, party of four!" The waitstaff here doesn't take your name: instead, they hand you a card with the name of a celebrity on it and they note the number of people in your party. "Tom Cruise, party of two!" This is a standard IHOP. I usually end up going here for breakfast so I've tried the omelets (garden omelet is good) and the Nutella crepes. The pancakes are good too!

Most horrible place ever on Earth. Me and my Grandmother .We are very close. I've seen great commercials for IHOP. So I decided to go to IHOP and was disappointed. Our waiter was terrible. He never brought back my OJ until we reminded him and the grits were watery and no one touched them and the food wasn't that great. Never again have we eaten there. Re: Jane N I'm so sorry for your experience but IHOP is just a terrible place I won't be going to anytime soon.

If I could give this place -5 stars, I would. After already having their toast, I noticed there was mold on it. Everyone at the table starts dry heaving at this point. It was so gross. We immediately notified the manager and pointed out there was green mold on it. He hurried off with the toast and said he'd take care of it. He didn't come back after he left so we tracked him down and asked him what he's going to do about the situation. He apologized, said it was just that one batch and then took 20% off the bill. I was so infuriated that he took 20% off instead of shutting the kitchen down pending a health inspection. I asked him if he thought it was all right to serve moldy bread. He apologized again and changed his story, saying it must have been flood coloring from the blueberries they use. BLUEBERRIES?!?!?!? I said it was clearly green that we both saw, and NOT blue. This place needs to be shut down. I've already contacted IHOP HQ, and the Health and Human Services Department.
