I'm making it an adventure to try all of the pho restaurants in and around Catonsville and my last stop on the tour was at Pho Pasteur. Overall, I enjoyed the experience. The service was prompt. The food was brought out promptly, and the apps and the pho were served almost simultaneously. I love that. It give time for my pho to cool a little and blend flavors with the basil, lime, and peppers that I add in while I eat my appetizer. At the end of your meal, you pay at the counter. While I find that unusual in most restaurants, I prefer it with my pho. Hands down, Pho Pasteur has the best peanut sauce in the area to serve with their spring rolls, and the ingredients in the pho were tasty (extra props for the large slice of lime where other restaurants can skimp). The main reason this review dropped to a four was due to the flavor of the broth, which I found lacking. Bland broth doesn't cut it for me, and I'll probably go elsewhere for my pho needs. But their other food was exceptional and I would recommend it for any who want to try good Vietnamese food.

Some of the reviews here are obviously fake - So I'll give you a real review. The food here is really just okay. It doesn't suck and it isn't really above the average. Normally the only pho places I go to only do pho, and they are the best. This is true in this case. The pho here is not the best I ever had. The first thing I noticed was the lack of cilantro, onion and greenery in the bowl. The broth was lighter, or watered down, and the meat was soft, but almost too soft. That's why I like to get all the different meats - they have the different textures and chewiness - but when everything is soft and the same it just becomes really bland. The peanut sauce with the spring rolls was too sweet and not enough peanut. The actual spring rolls are packed too much with rice noodles. They'd taste a lot better if they put more basil and/or mint. They just use cheap filler. They do have the notorious blood soup called Bun Spicy, with pork blood cubes. You can't get that everywhere, so maybe try that if you go. Overall, if you're in this area, go to Haanori Town instead and get some Korean food. So many good options over there. If pho pasteur wants to survive, they need to tone down the swanky decor (who cares, asian food isn't suppose to be about fine dining) and focus more on the food - and go more authentic. One of the waitresses was wearing see-thru pants and I could see her underwear. Cool!

The best pho restaurant, and the one I just go back to as it has the best pho at a very good price. They have napkins, saucers, and sauces all on the table for us to use. So we do not have to ask for those. The pho I get is flank and steak, and the proportion of meat is very generous compared to other pho restaurants. I often get alot of meat in my large pho noodle soup...every time. The soup is delicious, the meat proportion to noodles is very very generous, and the service is very good. The manager is an asian man who is very nice and often helps out with the waiters and is very cheerful all the time. The atmosphere of the restaurant is comfy and serene, the space is large. I like the booth seats as there are many. Please try this pho restaurant out, I bring all my friends and family here to go here with me, and they all like the pho here. Also, the basil and bean sprouts that come with the pho noodles are very fresh and clean. Please go here you won't regret it.

There are about 7 or so Pho places in the Baltimore area. I would have to say Pho Pasteur is the one that I frequent now most regularly. It has the standard pho, and does it well. Get the same thing (Pho #1) every time, along with summer/spring rolls, and thai iced tea with boba. The rolls are okay. If you just want those, the best are found at Mekong delta though.

Awesome! Since leaving Pho Tau Bay in NOLA behind, I have searched for great Pho. Quick, pleasant service and great food! They even have the do it yourself spring roll platter which was my fave in NOLA. I highly recommend!

Table was dirty. Waiter came over to our table with cell phone in his ear and plopped the menus down (while chatting on phone), then did the same with the silverware... we then got up and went down the street. One table was filled in this restaurant. We filled the last table down the street.

This is one of my go-to pho places. I always get a small number 1 with spring and/or summer rolls, and the taste is always consistent. Service is great and the food comes out so incredibly fast. So if you're hungry, trying to eat out and don't wanna wait too long for your food, this is your best choice. Also, their strawberry smoothie was one of the best I've ever had!

Just when I thought that a good bowl of pho doesn't exist outside of Northern Virginia, this mom and pop establishment has proven me wrong. The decor is appropriately thematic, simple and quaint. The service is attentive and expedient. I opted for the beef wrapped in grape leaves. The appetizer was savory but oddly served with a sweet sauce instead of the traditional nuoc mam. The pho dac biet (house special) had a solidly beefy broth with strong anise. The cuts of meats and offal (tendons, tripes, ve) were generous. The accompanying herbs add-ons were fresh and fragrant. I did not need much of siracha or hoisin to accentuate the broth. The rice noodles were clumpy at the start, but were not broken and settled nicely. Overall, a very good bowl of pho. They have a very good selection of vietnamese fares on their menu besides the pho and I look forward to trying them all out.

I'm a huge fan of pho, and have tried a bajillion places in Baltimore already, but I sure was happy to discover a new one. This one takes the cake for fastest service. I went to the bathroom for a minute, during which my boyfriend placed the order for 2 combination pho, I came out, and bam, the food arrived. However, at the cost of amazingly fast service, I think the broth is subpar. The noodles are stuck together (which happens often), but something just felt missing in the broth. Not as savory? Not sure. They do put onions, and there is a hint of vinegar flavor too. The pho did come out piping hot, so I didn't have any problems with lukewarm broth. We also got rolls and both were great (summer and spring rolls). I would come here if it was convenient and if I was craving pho, but I live closer to better pho, so the best I can recommend is if you're around and craving pho, it's not a terrible option (there are worse), but I could suggest better places.

Pho Pasteur is a lovely, friendly, and super fast pho option in the Woodlawn area. We've stopped in a few times for takeout, and other than the time that they lost my debit card (and said they didn't have it when we came back), they've had great service. Once you order, pho is ready to go in about four or five minutes max! Not my favorite broth, but a good one. Make sure to ask for a sauce container and pour your own spicy options to go, as there isn't always one in the bag. Summer rolls could definitely do with a lot more flavor, though - sauce is gloppy and underseasoned, and the rolls themselves have almost no flavor. Stick with the soup here, and if you need a summer roll fix try Pho Dat Thanh.

Ok, but not as complete as Pho Saigon or Pho Van. The restaurant sits in the H-Mart parking lot, all the way to left of the supermarket. The inside is appointed nicely, it's clean, and the service was attentive (especially with water refills). My gf and I ordered 2 bowls of pho and a summer (they call them spring) rolls. The summer rolls are made with pork and are loosely wrapped so they fall apart and generally have no flavor unless drowned in peanut sauce. Pass. I ordered a large #4 - brisket and flank. The bowls come out 2 minutes after you order. I don't know whether I should be impressed or suspicious. Probably the latter. The broth is lighter in savoriness, salt, and overall flavor than its competitors. The size difference between the regular and the large is minimal. The large bowl is too small for the meat and noodles (plus add-ons), so the noodles clump together. Even though Pasteur provides a decent pho experience, with so much pho competition in the Catonsville area, unfortunately I won't be back. For anyone new to the pho scene, I recommend trying Pho Saigon as your starting point and then branching out to the numerous others in the area.

The beef pho is decent, but the chicken pho (which I usually don't care for) is amazing. The food comes out extremely quickly. The avocado shakes are really good here and made with fresh avocado.

A great Vietnamese place tucked right in beside H-Mart. The broth was very flavorful and definitely was able to stand on its own without any sauce. The veggie spring rolls left a little to be desired, and I wish they hadn't used iceberg lettuce. Will definitely make more stops here if I'm in the area.

For some reason, I stay sick when it is a beautiful day outside. Why must I be cursed? Anywho, for some reason pho really seems to make me feel better, and on this date, I really wanted to try something new. I must admit, I was slightly skeptical reading the reviews... Okay here it go. Located in the same shopping center as the H Mart, BoA and the like. Signage is fair. The interior of the place is quaint, maybe one or two patrons dining at my time of arrival. Service was prompt, my food was ready with a quick turn, I swear I wondered how fresh it may be with how fast my food came out. I don't know the number, but my pho had cooked beef and rare beef. Ask me if it was brisket or flank? Meh, I dunno. I got the large, due to some of the other reviewers reporting the small portions, and I also tried the spring rolls with the shrimp and pork. I think the portion was pretty dang large. There were plenty of noodles and even more of the beef to go around. So much so that my noodles were gone, and there was still beef to be had! The broth was seasoned nicely and didn't need too many additions to get it to my liking. If I had to have a gripe, it would be that the well done beef, was a bit too well done for my taste. But, then again, I'm one of those folk that believe that NO steak should be cooked well done....I wonder if I can get that rare the next time I go....hmmm. The spring rolls were the best! Two came with the order, and they were a nice and plump. They were stuffed to capacity, the filling was delicious and the peanut sauce was right on point! I was also happy that it kept up nicely when I needed a snack the next day. All in all, Pho Pasteur will definitely be added to my cue of good places to grub when I need a pho pick me up. The prices are reasonable, the amount of food given is great, and the food is tasty. You have a winner winner!

The restaurant set up is warm.. Traditional American asian fusion! Nothing fancy but cute quint and comfy! They host was super nice and swift.. Oh yeah you seat yourself! Anyhow , I was seated a looked over the menu which isn't the clearest as to what's in your bowl. They do have pictures on the outside but you still don't have a true detail ! I ordered spicy beef soup.. The soup was spicy!!!! But I could bare it! It had so tough fatty meat so I took it out and some strange white stuff which I found out the next day that it was Vietnamese Bologna (yuck and I did not eat that either) other than that my soup was awesome next time I will get vegetarian soup bowl oh they give you the prettiest utensils to use and chop sticks

I used to go here often when I moved to Baltimore before I found better spots. SURROUNDING: It's literally right next to Hmart, so it's convenient to go after getting your groceries. SERVICE: Very fast. I have never waited for more than 5 minutes for my pho here. Cash and credit. Clean and nice interior. Not an ethnic crowd. FOOD: Tried the summer rolls and pho. Summer rolls are pretty good, but hard to screw up. Pho used to be better, they have been pretty subpar in the past 6 months or so. They also changed their bowls in the past year to make their portions smaller... PRICE: Price also went up in the past 6 months. ~8/small ~9/large. The small portion is not really worth getting unless you are on diet. BOTTOM LINE: Convenient because of location, but pho saigon/van is right up the road. NOTE: I have eaten here more than 10 times and once or twice, it has sent me sprinting for the nearest bathroom.

There are many Pho restaurants in the Baltimore area, but this is definitely one of the best. I've been coming here a few times a month for 3 years now and they never fail to disappoint me. Their service is great. You are seated right when you walk in and as soon as you know what you want, someone is right there to take down your order. Usually the food comes within 5 minutes; no more than 10. Their specialty is Pho of course, but they have other great soups, rices, spring rolls, and more. There's also a wide variety of drinks ranging from hot tea, to boba smoothies, to drip coffee. I give it 4 stars because it has great food and service. The only thing I can think of for improvement is to update the tables since some are kind of wobbly. Overall, love it!

**Carry out only review** Had the shrimp/ beef with peanuts over noodles served with vegetables and it was delicious! However I found the fish sauce to be bland and the noodles definitely needed something.... but siracha and soy sauce does the trick.

One of the handful of Vietnamese restaurants in Catonsville, Pho Pasteur does not disappoint. The pho portions are slightly smaller than other competitors, but the quality is there. The vermicelli bowls are pretty standard. The rolls are smaller, but the peanut sauce is a little different in a good way. Pho Pasteur also offers a larger variety on their drink menu than most others. Overall, pretty good.

Price is cheap compare to other Vietnamese food, pho tastes great, a lot of meat!! Also love the summer roll~ Staffs are nice too.

I think out of all the pho places I've been to, this has been the most reliable. One way you can tell that it's legit is when a majority of the customers are speaking Vietnamese. Service was extremely fast. We ordered pho and summer rolls (they call them spring rolls here), and it came out in 10-15 minutes. The pho came with scallions and cilantro already sprinkled onto the bowl, and they provided us a plate with bean sprouts, basil, lime, and jalapenos. While their bowl sizes are not as big, I enjoy their broth and I find that they give you more meat than most other places. I ordered a regular size, finished my noodles, and there were still cuts of meat leftover, which usually never happens. The summer rolls were filled with lettuce, noodles, pork and shrimp. I think because I'm used to other places using their marinated roasted pork, I found the pork in these rolls a little dry and bland, but the rolls were still fine. Overall a good experience. This has become my go to place for pho, especially in the Catonsville area.

Very impressed by the pho here. There are a ton of pho places in cantonsville and I really don't think u can go wrong with any of them. That being said, pho Pasteur has fast service and very tasty pho. Small $6.50, large $7.50. They also have a wickedly creamy Thai iced tea that tastes like liquid candy! Boba optional. They also have a decent shake option with a real authentic flavor choices including avocado, durian, and jackfruit. I think out of the 3 pho places in this half mile radius, I'd stick with pho pasteur!

The inside is really nice looking compared to some other pho shops around me. Nice people all around and the food is very good. Avocado shakes is super duper here!

It was really tasty - the broth was yummy and the spring rolls with the pork ARE AWESOME! I did a meat mixture but the noodles weren't my favorite. I think I'll try the vermicelli noodles next time :) My friend liked her bowl LOL - she got shrimp.

We're doing well lately finding good restaurants. This one has easy going servers, tasty food, reasonable prices, and it's clean. We both had rice noodles, one in a soup and the other in a new vegetarian tofu and vegetable dish. The noodles we OK.

Best Pho joint in the B-more area, by far! One of the few 'Authentic Vietnamese Cuisine' restaurants that is actually owned and operated by Vietnamese folks. Trust that you can taste the difference in the broth. Oh, that broth. Like it's been simmering for a week with all savory goodness soaking in. I want to expand out and try some of the other dishes, but the pho broth is too damn good. One day.

I think they have the best pho around Bmore area. After living in Philly for over ten years and moving to Bmore, we were sad there weren't any good Vietnamese restaurants in the area. We were glad we found this place and Miss Sandy was super friendly and helpful! Unfortunately she's no longer there, but her family still runs the business. Thanks Miss Sandy for the coffee advise! My kids miss you!

An overall pleasing Pho experience! As far as Pho goes, you can't really mess it up too much so I would say, the pho makes the mark :) What was distinctive: the service was extremely fast. No sooner had I ordered the appetizer (spring rolls, delish!) I got up for the bathroom and it was already on its way over!

Pho Pasteur has become a staple lunch stop. Honestly, I'd eat pho for breakfast if it were available. The word is spreading that Pho Pasteur is the noodle-shizznit. There are more tables full every time I go in. It's fresh, it's clean, the service is friendly, the pho is tasty, and they accept plastic even with very reasonable prices. As long as they keep giving me the hot pho injection, they can keep tapping my wallet.

Been to several pho places in Catonsville; and for the price and meager portion of Pho I am confused why people like this place a lot.... The place is conveniently located by the Hmart strip which is convenient before/after grocery shopping. The plus side: has chicken broth selection and has a set selection for 2 people if you want to eat a lot. The downside: the broth came out WARM (people were asians and used to hot soup, that's why you use breath to cool it down), portion is small, and they got my order WRONG (already stated the number, the name and pointed it out on the menu). If its an ordinary Friday there would have been no problem but I'm on my Meatless Fridays. So they just removed the pork barbecue from my order at the kitchen (but the authentic pork barbecue recipe by the way for the Pho was not a head turner at all), so I had no choice but ate my Pho with clear noodles with seafood supposedly only but still has ground meat on it still. Even my non-asian boyfriend says he still likes the Pho#1 in Catonsville area. I'm sorry for the low scoring but wrong orders should be fixed appropriately and not just fixed to save extra bucks for tour restaurant. Will not recommend this to my Asian and American friends =(

My latest obsession here has been the #33. It's soupless pho noodles, topped off with grilled pork, lightly pickled radish, carrots, and cucumbers, shredded lettuce, and 2 fried spring rolls. It's meant to be topped off with the tangy, salty, sweet, spicy sauce (the sauce that accompanies the various appetizers). I usually steal SX's lime and add that in too. It's definitely a somewhat lighter fare option compared to a piping hot bowl of pho. I'm also a fan of their rice dishes as well. Don't be afraid to branch out of your pho comfort zone. So, this is a great option for groups where some want pho dishes and others are craving a rice-based dish. Service here can be a bit bleh sometimes, but it is sufficient.

Tried this place once, never came back. It wasn't horrible but pho van down the road is so much better. Why go for mediocre when you can have good?

Finally, some good pho and bun bo hue in Maryland. Tastes just like how I've had it in Little Saigon in San Jose. Columbia's two establishments don't cut it compared to this place.

    (4)
  • Josh R.

Food is no good. I ordered the beef pho while my mom ordered the Bun Bo Hue. My soup was bland while hers was very fishy. I'd rather go a few doors down to Hunan Taste for some real authentic Sichuan/Hunan style food that is nuclear spicy.

I believe there are about 4 Pho restaurants in the vicinity of Catonsville. Catonsville is a pho- filled because I think of the quickly starving students at the nearby college. The town is in for a Pho noodle fight. Everybody's pho-attention is scattered. Do you know which Pho restaurant do you like? This is my 3rd Pho place I have been to in Catonsville. It's hard to choose. I came to conclusion that eating Pho is a matter of the day of my errand. If I need an Asian or Giant food grocery, Starbucks, Caribbean or Korean, I go to Pho Pasteur. Pasteur is smaller than Pho 1 and about the same space as Pho Saigon. Whichever...I feel, they all satisfy my need for Pho, but I don't need to pho every week so phogive me, pho pastor.

The boyfriend and I got another craving for pho last night, but we wanted to expand our horizons and see if there were better places than what we've currently experienced. After checking Yelp quickly, we decided to try Pho Pasteur. The decor is attractive and the surroundings quite clean. So far, this place doesn't look much different than Pho #1 down the street. We looked over the menus and decided to have the ubiquitous summer rolls and pho - LoML decided on the #4 (sorry, I have no idea of what it actually was, but it's one of the more popular selections), I decided on the #11, meatball pho (which is a bit different, for me, but I wanted something new). The pho here was good, though the broth needed quite a bit of doctoring - it was really light, almost too watery. The meatballs were excellent, however, and if they taste at other places like they did here, I'll be ordering it all the time. The rolls, however... well, we've had a lot better. It did seem like they were cluttered up with filler, and "old" filler at that. They weren't totally inedible, far from it - but the rolls at Mekong Delta or Pho Nom Nom in Rockville blow them away. We're getting to the point where we can tell the good from the bad when it comes to pho. Pho Pasteur falls squarely in the middle as far as food goes - not bad, not great. The service was brusque to the point of being a little on the rude side, but we weren't too bothered by it, as we've come to expect that in Viet restaurants, it's just the way it is. Would we come here again? Yes, most likely, if we have a reason to be in the neighbohood. It helps that H-Mart is steps away.

Tried this place out for the first time and loved it. My husband got the #36(grilled pork&shrimp w/veggies) and it was delicious. I got the #9(pho noodle soup w/tripe&beef) great flavor! My mom ordered the seafood pho and it was also pretty tasty. Extremely reasonable, friendly staff, and each dish was great.

Loved the experience here from start to finish. The atmosphere was very cozy and peaceful, the staff were very professional and courteous, and the Pho was outstanding. The portion was very generous as well, and worth every cent. A few weeks after visiting Pho Pasteur, I ate at a Vietnamese restaurant in NYC (Cha Pa's on 52nd St. in Hell's Kitchen neighborhood in Manhattan) and contrary to what I expected, it paled in comparison to this restaurant in Catonsville!!! Cha Pa's pho was bland by itself and I had to dump in every condiment they gave me. At Pho Pasteur, the pho was already very tasty by itself. (I did add in the basil, cilantro etc because I love them.) Pho Pasteur offered very generous amounts of basil (practically a whole branch of it- ha ha) and more bean sprouts to enjoy, whereas Cha Pa's only gave tiny portions of these (even though their pho needed more to be added). Can't wait to go to Pho Pasteur again!

It was so good our friends went back twice in 3 days. I am battling a cold, so the pho (I tried #2 and #15) helped me massively. The staff is super friendly, they waste no time pushing tables together to accommodate a large group. The place is always packed, so you know it's good. Also, the food comes out extremely quickly (we're talking 5-10 minutes for pho), and is delicious. Best of all, you know it's not incredibly salt-laden like some pho can be because you're not very thirsty hours after. Staff is very nice, food delicious, prices so cheap! ($6.50 for "small" aka huge bowl of pho) Will definitely return.

Average pho. Nothing sticks out as good or bad... Ordered the spring and summer rolls as appetizers but they came out with our pho so by the time I got to the soup, it was bit cold. Other than that, a-ok. Do try their AVACADO boba drink. Made with real avacado. Yummy~ Can't top the Four Sister's in VA but better than Pho Dat Thahn's in Columbia.

I moved to the Baltimore area about four months ago. I was in philly previously and pho was a weekly staple. i mean its really great and just what you need on a sunday for lunch. So naturally i searched the baltimore area for the best pho. I must say the Pho here is the best. the summer rolls were awful.. but pho is definitely the best. i think pho saigon is overrated. fried rolls didnt come out last time until we were nearly done with our pho so that was unpleasant. however the overall decor was far nicer than the spartan settings of philly viet town pho. overall, this is our main pho spot for two big pho lovers.

We made a trek to Catonsville specifically for Pho. I was familiar with the shopping center Pho Pasteur is located in so I figured it had to be authentic. We went in to order take out and the young lady at the counter was very helpful and courteous. We ordered 3 different pho dishes, a vermicelli dish, the beef wrapped in grape leaves, egg roles and 2 drinks with boba (1 tea, 1 smoothie). It wasn't until we got to our next destination that we realized they forgot an order of pho. I also felt the ratios were way off. We got way more noodles than we needed in comparison to the broth, meat and veggies. The food was wrapped up separately for you to assemble yourself which more take out places should do. The food was good even though we were missing some of it. The broth had excellent flavor, the veggies were fresh and crisp. The meat quality was decent and cooked perfectly. The appetizers were also good but nothing to write home about. I'm sure we will go back to this place again and eat in as opposed to carrying out. Will probably try some other Vietnamese places in the area first though.

One of better choice for pho in Baltimore area. I didn't have problem with quality of meat they offer in pho. I got No.6 and fried spring roll to share. Both pretty good. My husband had No.29 and he liked his a lot, too. I thought I didn't get enough meat, but I was wrong. By the time I finished eating my food, I was stuffed. I perhaps shouldn't have gotten large pho. Broth was little watery, but not bad to drink. It was great to have for a cold day like today.

Pho was very good. My son liked pho do bien (seafood). Husband liked the beef pho and spring rolls very tasty. The bun with pork and spring rolls was good although I didn't realize the amount of char grilling. They were very nice and brought me less blackened meat. We will be back.

This is my go-to pho takeout restaurant. I switched from Pho Van because of them not accepting credit cards. Blatantly avoiding taxes is a bit of a pet peeve for me (if the fees are the issue, let me pay them, I gladly will), plus having to run to an ATM when I'm unexpectedly out of cash (I never use cash unless I have to), and paying $6 in fees is a major inconvenience. From a food perspective, in the past few months I found that I prefer the broth of Pho Pasteur, it has this aromatic scent that adds to the experience for me. The quality of the various beef cuts is also above many other Pho places around. The rare stake is actually rare and cooks perfectly in the steaming broth. In the tens of times that I have ordered from them, I found the food quality to be completely consistent every time. I reserve 5 stars for fine dining establishments like Volt in Frederick, or Komi in DC... 4 stars is top notch for me for restaurants that don't compete in that category.

Best pho in Catonsville area. Always consistent with taste and service. Very clean tables and speedy service. Favorite dishes other than Pho has to be Bun Cha Gio Heo Nuong. Their eggs rolls and Gio Cuon are a must try!

Three out of four ppl at my table ordered Pho. One person ordered a rice dish. No one complained about their dishes, so I assume it wasn't bad. I ordered #1, my usual at Pho places. The pho was okay. Not the worst I've had, but not the best. For appetizer we ordered summer rolls and grill beef wrapped in grape leaves. Summer rolls were disappointing; more noodle stuffing than anything else. The grape leaf wraps were a little on the salty side but delicious though.

Great pho, solid everything else. Friendly and fast service, family-run. Haven't seen any Vietnamese coffee here, although Thai coffee is oddly on the menu. Beef with grape leaves was hearty!

Large, fresh portions come out of the kitchen quickly. The menu has a lot of photographs which is comforting for anyone not familiar with Vietnamese cuisine. Many of the dishes are variations on different combinations of meat and vegetables and noodles.

This is a good pho place and they stand out for offering different noodle options. They have egg noodles!

This is BY FAR one of the best pho places I've tried in the Baltimore area, and possibly elsewhere as well. First off, the atmosphere is really nice, it's not "cheap" looking like the ones I've been to in the Rockville area. The pho is good quality, the only minor thing I would say is that it took me some time to separate the noodles but NBD. Also I never knew what "delicious" sauce meant, til I tried the spring rolls with their sauce...mmmm so tasty!! Although the spring rolls were kinda puny compared to the spring rolls at some of the other places I've been to, but I guess their sauce made up for that. The service was really quick and very friendly too. I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! My go-to pho restaurant in B-more :)

(02/19/2012) Nice place next to the H-mart for Vietnamese food. Place seems family-run in the kitchen and on the floor, has an updated interior, but feels casual like hanging out at your aunt's house. Most of the family was intently cheering on Jeremy Lin as he helps the Knicks top Dallas. The Shrimp and Pork Summer Rolls looked prepped a little ahead of time; wrapper was a little overdamp and frangible, but the ingredients inside were fresh (plump shrimp, stuffed mostly with undressed noodles, slice of pork roll, some romaine lettuce). Agree with a previous reviewer about the lack of herbs in the rolls, would've been nice to have that fresh bite of basil and cilantro to amp up the flavors some. Grilled marinated beef in grape leaves were really good, I've never had them before (decided to forego the "duck sauce" they came with, seemed incongruous and superfluous). The ground meat was highly seasoned (fresh garlic, pepper, maybe some soy or fish sauce), juicy when you bit in, grape leaves had that slight bitter, vegetal flavor (in a good way). The pho was a good-sized portion for the money ($7.50), a little light on the meats. The broth wafted with hints of star anise when it came to the table, was somewhat thin, mildly beefy. I enjoy the chunks of weird meat bits, and don't need them chopped small into unrecognizable pieces, enjoyed the gummy bear-like tendons and squeaky, chewy strips of tripe. Well-done brisket was tender and beefy, fatty brisket sufficiently fatty, rare flank rosy pink. Cilantro and green onions came in the meats and broth rather than on the side, garnishes were very fresh silvery bean sprouts, Thai basil, fresh sliced jalapenos and tart limes. Overall pretty good. Am looking forward to going back and trying some of the grilled and bun dishes.

Ordered the pho ga (chicken pho). Broth was clean tasting with well-developed flavors, but not overly salty. Serving was generous and there was plenty of chicken and noodles. Only one wedge of lime was served. I like my pho with a fair amount of lime. When I asked for more, the server was very generous with bringing more to the table. Overall, a very decent bowl of pho. Would go back. Also highly recommend the ga ro ti (Vietnamese roasted chicken) with tomato rice. Food is consistently good and piping hot.

Best Pho in Baltimore. The broth is fresh and clean tasting. Gorgeous fresh veggies and the service can't be beat! One of the waiters even chased me across the parking lot with leftovers. You can't beat the price. I will go back again and again even though it's clear across town.

I like Pho, in general, as a cuisine. I enjoyed the soup I ate. What I, and my husband and niece, did not enjoy was the nausea that hit all of us about a half an hour after we ate. Needless to say we will not be returning. We will be returning to our usual go-to place Pho #1.

I love Vietnamese food and I try any new place I can in the hopes of finding something similar to the goodness that I experienced more frequently in bigger cities. Both Phildelphia and 7 corners are just too far away. I ordered the vegetables and tofu in beef broth (no veg broth available) and the veg egg rolls. What I liked: lots of veggies and they were fresh. The egg roll was crispy and not greasy. What I didn't like: the broth was beefy and salty but that was it. No complex pho-ness like anise, cilantro etc. Tasted more Chinese than Vietnamese. I had to add a lot of condiments to get some flavor going. The veg spring roll was bland. I'm glad they offered a veg option but to have any flavor and a texture other than mush, they need mushrooms and other veggies. Also, the pickled carrot and daikon wasn't really pickled (maybe it was cut too thick?) and it was mostly sweet. Would I go again? Sure, if I'm out in Catonsville and maybe the other dishes are more flavorful. The best Pho broth I've had (comparable to what I ate when I traveled in VN) is at Pho Hiep Hoa in Silver Spring. Again, a bit too far from MD. In Baltimore, I'll stick with Mekong Delta.

The atmosphere was nice. But the food was lacking. I didn't really like the vermicelli. There wasn't enough meat balls in the Pho Bo Vien. Bun Bo Hue was very good though also very spicy.

Just so-so. The pho broth is not that great, but edible. Rice dishes are just so-so. I go here when I don't have cash with me since this place accepts credit card.

It was really tasty - the broth was yummy and the spring rolls with the pork ARE AWESOME! I did a meat mixture but the noodles weren't my favorite. I think I'll try the vermicelli noodles next time :) My friend liked her bowl LOL - she got shrimp.

The beef pho is decent, but the chicken pho (which I usually don't care for) is amazing. The food comes out extremely quickly. The avocado shakes are really good here and made with fresh avocado.

Finally, some good pho and bun bo hue in Maryland. Tastes just like how I've had it in Little Saigon in San Jose. Columbia's two establishments don't cut it compared to this place.

Pho was very good. My son liked pho do bien (seafood). Husband liked the beef pho and spring rolls very tasty. The bun with pork and spring rolls was good although I didn't realize the amount of char grilling. They were very nice and brought me less blackened meat. We will be back.

Just wanted to mention that their egg noodle soups are also very good. Give those a try too!

I was pleased with the customer service on my second visit. I was offered to comp the price of the appetizer for arriving late to the table.

Cool!
