Wilderness Bed and Breakfast

I've stayed at numerous b&bs around North America, and The Wilderness is the second best of all the bunch. Ellen is a terrific and very accommodating hostess. One of our party has celiac disease, and Ellen was gracious enough to supply not only gluten-free breakfast options, but also to bake up some gluten-free peanut butter cookies as one of her afternoon treats. Cat lovers will be pleased to make the acquaintance of the sociable household cats. People allergic to cats will be pleased to know that none of the cats are allowed into the private rooms. One of our party is allergic to cats, and had no significant trouble from cat dander. (However, pollen was plentiful in the region, so be aware of environmental problems.) My favorite part of the inn was the screened back porch, providing sunshine, fresh air, and plenty of bird watching opportunities with three separate feeders around the porch. So peaceful and pleasant! I highly recommend The Wilderness.

The food is very good. Definitely get the plantains. I often get the bistec a lo pobre a big mix of thin steak, fried eggs, fries, rice and plantains. The steak is a little tough but still good. The green and yellow sauces make the meal though. The salad is nice too. I go here regularly instead of Boston market, just because it is more interesting foodwise. The place is clean and looks it's newness. Only problem is the sometimes they mess the order up if you don't get the usual combo.
I will be back! It was so delicious and the entire group enjoyed. I had the lomo special (steak with grilled onions and tomato) with the best seasoning ever! I substituted and got fried rice and plantains. I have no complaints! Others at the table had the pollo special and 1/4 chicken dark meat with fries and white rice sides. Go here and enjoy!
Good stuff. Get the Peruvian chicken, plantains, and string beans. You won't be disappointed. Get the 1/2 chicken, the 1/4 chicken wasn't enough. I tried the Lomo saltado and it was too much salt. If you get that I'd recommend telling them go easy on the sodium unless you're cool with high blood pressure. There's plenty of room to eat inside as well.

One of the places I don't miss when I visit Baltimore. Bobby is an awesome guy and the place has been there longer than all of us.
Before I begin, let me confirm a few things: - Yes, this bar is a dump. It's beyond a dive. Where can you still smoke indoors in Maryland? At this place. It's not legal, but they allow it. - The rumors are incredibly unfortunately but true: Someone was killed in the bathroom a few years ago. It was an afternoon scuffle between two mentally ill men that ended horribly. Amazingly, the bar reopened later that night. - It operates as a bar and liquor store, but more on the liquor store side. The bar is hardly ever full. Most people simply come in, pick up a bottle or six pack, and leave. I assume that's how they make enough money to stay in business. Now, for the five star review: It takes a special type of person to enjoy this bar. I'm not talking about the crusty locals who come here to drink away their sorrows. I'm talking about those who can appreciate authenticity when they see it. Guitars and taxidermy drape the walls and old rock LPs cover the ceiling. Sans florescent light near the entrance, this place is actually very cozy. Don, the main barkeep, doesn't keep track of your tab. You simply tell him at the end of the night what you drank. He adds it up and then you pay. It's an honor system that makes you love him and this bar. The layout and music volume are just two of the many things that encourage random conservation, which seems to happen a lot here. We talked with regulars about the Orioles, the police department, neighboring towns, the fuel efficiency of Ford Focus sedans and much, much more. Aside from the bathroom homicide, it's a friendly place with friendly people. There is live music on Friday nights and it's surprisingly good. On top of that, there is karaoke between sets. There are no lulls in entertainment here! I was fortunate enough to catch a guitar and sax band during the holiday party. They were fantastic. The location is great. The bar's modest sign on Freddy Road is easily missed in favor of the snooty (comparatively) bars that are also on the strip. Most people are aware that it's there, but they never bother to step inside. But, maybe that's a good thing. Like a poor man's secret society, Morisberger Tavern survives off it's unofficial white trash members, who will warm up to you within minutes of your arrival. Overall, it's a great place with great characters. Be open minded and you're sure to make a few friends and leave with a few good stories. I just hope that I'm not ruining the magic by adding this listing to Yelp....

I've come a few times since my first review. The lobby actually is alway neat. I guess the customers are the ones that actually mess it up, and if it's busy what can you expect? The staff is always friendly and actually seem happy to help. My number one subway.
Usually you'll see national chains SLAMMED on Yelp. 1 star reviews with comments like "this place is great". Yelpers hate on chain restaurants like liberals hate on Walmart. I was surprised when looking up Subway restaurants in Apple Maps. 4.5 stars?!?! Is this possible? Yes. And they've earned it. First, this place is clean. I know that's basically a requirement of restaurants, but it's shameful how many cant pass this simple test. It's not that hard to wipe a table. People with 1/4 your IQ have been doing it for years with no training. Anyways, they pass this test. Second, there is a weird glass window around the sandwichey-goodness area. Kinda weird at first. Then you realize it cuts down on noise and makes eating your sub that much more enjoyable. You're not eating with a line of people pushing their crotch onto your elbow and screaming "PROVOLONE CHEESE. NO THE PROVOLONE ONE. OH, NEVERMIND I GUESS I LIKE SWISS. THAT'S SWISS. GIVE ME SWISS." I don't care if you want tomato or Ebola. Let me eat in peace. Somehow this odd-looking glass barrier allows this. Third, and most importantly. Most. Importantly. The people working here are happy. Not that fake smile through your nose happy. But actually glad to be alive. People like this are unicorns. It says a lot about a business owner that can find, cultivate, and keep these rare individuals. Well done subway. Well done.
For some reason every time I go to this location the veggies look like they were from the day before. The staff is super friendly though.

Ordered a scrapple, egg, and cheese bagel and it was fantastic.
Coworkers and I order sandwiches from here and it was quiet a surprise how fresh and nice the sandwiches were. I ordered the farmer and the ocean.
I've ordered sandwiches many times for lunch with my coworkers. I love that they deliver, as long as the order is over $25 since none of us can leave. We never have a problem getting to that amount because as soon as someone says we're ordering from Taneytown everyone wants in! The sandwiches are always fresh and huge, they're really stuffed full. I've never been disappointed!

Was looking for a new place to order take out, and enjoyed the Eat24 app's ability to browse the menu and order directly. Ordered a nice mix of food, from street tacos to a salad - and everything was terrific. Service was exactly what it should've been - order was ready when they said it would be, everything was packaged to make it home with no problem. My only challenge was that the smell was so good - had a hard time keeping my fingers out of the food while driving! I can't wait to go into the restaurant to eat, and will definitely be back.
My wife, two boys, and I frequent this semi neighborhood restaurant. The place has never been crowded and the service is always spot on. We have had most of the menu and everything has been good, but they excel at anything that is grilled. The margaritas, salsa, chip and queso are good. Nothing to write home about but are good. I typically put a dbl shot in the margaritas. The kids menu works very well for us. Catonsville is an area nearly devoid of good mexican restaurant. Though I have been to better Mexican restaurants I give this place a 5 because it is a bit of finding a diamond in the rough.
Delicious authentic Mexican food. From Mexican street tacos to Ceviche this place is awesome! The grande margarita was the best and the customer service was out of this world! I highly recommend this restaurant!

Duesenberg’s German Dinner

Reviews:
I lived in Germany for 19 years, I looked for good German food. I found this restaurant on Yelp and thought that I would give it a shot. I ordered the Jäger Schnitzel. It was good, all too much for me to eat. The salad was huge, and the Jäger Schnitzel was alright. Kind of small compared to what I am used too. But there are tons of spaetzle; more then I could eat. You should not leave hungry. So if you are looking for authentic German food so far this is the a good place to get some. Oh, one good thing is if you want to drink a good German Bier with your food. They let you bring your own. Bottom line is that it is good, but to me it is a bit expensive. For the Jäger Schnitzel with no drink I paid $21.00 with tip. I have an update to this post... I took my wife there to eat after I posted this review. This time, the food was not that good and VERY expensive. I talked to the German women about our concerns. She said that they just got a new cook. I was thinking to myself, that if I had a new cook and I am the expert on how to cook German food, that I would want to be in the kitchen teaching and monitoring what it going on in the kitchen, other than walking around to the customers in the dining room. My wife ordered Salmon and obviously the cook did not know that fish cooks quickly and I ordered Jäger Schnitzel. Both of our dishes were WAAYYYY over cooked and dry. So being that one time was a good experience and one time not so good, I would say that it is kind of hit or miss. Again stress that it was expensive. I think that our bill was something like $55.00 without drinks!!! I could understand if I were eating a Flea minion steak. However, Jäger Schnitzel is pork.
I really love traditional German food and great German food is hard to come by in these parts. You either have to travel to Germany or the MidWest. Now you don't have to go very far! We finally popped into Duesenberg's German Dinner. You may not know that it even exists except for the lone German flag hanging off the awning and the simple sign outside on Wednesdays-Saturdays. The German magic happens on Wednesday through Saturday from 5:30-10 PM. The chef shares the restaurant/kitchen space with Duesenberg's American Grill and Cafe, so the place will feel familiar although the menu is German. The restaurant is narrow and clean with tables neatly arranged through the space. The menu is simple, delicious and filling. We ordered the wiener schnitzel and jaegerschnitzel with spaetzle and a salad. The salads came out first and were huge! It was a large dinner plate filled with a trio of vinegar based salads: cabbage slaw, shredded carrot salad and potato salad. The trio shared the plate with a spring mix dressed with a vinaigrette. This in itself is huge and a perfect plate for a hot summer day - fresh and flavorful. But wait, there's more...the wiener schnitzel was a large breaded cutlet served with a lemon wedge and an enormous serving of spaetzle. The spaetzle was topped with a pork reduction with bits of shredded pork. It was really tasty. What was more impressive was the jaegerschnitzel. This plate was similar to the wiener schnitzel, but the dish was topped with this light, creamy mushroom sauce. It was so good, I could have licked the plate clean. Sometimes German food can be greasy and filling, but the food here was filling not greasy. It was fresh and perfectly seasoned. I didn't even reach for the salt and pepper. Although we were stuffed, we couldn't walk away without trying trying a piece of apple strudel with ice cream. It was a light, soft pastry wrapped around a pile of fresh, slightly sweet apples. It was delicious and a perfect ending to our dinner. Our service was efficient and pleasant. We got to meet the chef, and she was so delightful. You can tell she is passionate about fresh and healthy cooking and the food of her mother country. I kinda felt like I was in her home. She accommodates and makes dishes gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan which is really awesome for such traditional fare. We are so excited and can't wait to return with our German food loving friends!
This place is great! Reasonably priced, large portions and its BYOB! Highly reccomended. I don't give out 5 stars easily.

Ordered here several times and they never disappoint! Their food is delicious, we always order something new and are always satisfied. They also have great customer service! They recently started delivering and we had only figured that out the other evening. We placed our order and they said that we should expect it in about 40 minutes, they delivered it within 20 minutes and the delivery man was very friendly! I definitely recommend this establishment.
Huh. How 'bout that? I've been driving past Hunan Joy on Edmonson Ave for the better part of two decades. It always looked like a sad little corner place. Never more than a car or two in the lot. Nothing about it says "C'mon in." But, after seeing the decent reviews on Yelp and figuring that they couldn't stay in business for as long as they have unless they were doing something right, we stopped to grab take out for dinner. And you know what? It's worth the stop. As noted by other reviewers, the service is fast and friendly. The food came out really hot and fresh. The fried stuff wasn't super oily. And it was good. The menu's pretty standard for Americanized Chinese, but it's done well. Cooked properly. Seasoned nicely. Not full of gloppy corn-starch sauces. Spiced appropriately when called for. Honestly, I think they're doing the best mass-market Chinese carryout in the area. Plus, I didn't feel like I'd smeared myself in cooking oil after I finished eating. If you want ethnically authentic food, you probably know where to get it. But if you're looking for a solid order of mei fun noodles or fried rice, I'd give Hunan Joy a big thumbs up.
Live closely to the place and checked Yelp to see what reviews were saying about it. The reviews said it was great take-out Chinese, but when my husband and I ordered the house fried rice, Kung pao chicken, and Mongolian beef today, we were so disappointed with the food quality. The Mongolian beef hardly had any beef, it was 90% cabbage and 10% beef. The other two dishes, simply didn't taste good. Suffice to say, we won't be coming back.

SURROUNDING: The asian grocery stores are down the street, so you can get your shopping done after eating. This place is in a shopping center and has plenty of parking. SERVICE: Cash only! FOOD: I had pho tai. This place has solid broth- it's not too greasy, maybe a little salty, but good. They also give lots of MEAT and lots of green onions. Expect a balanced bite of meat, noodle, green onions, sprouts, and onions in every bite. PRICE: ~9/small BOTTOM LINE: For you meat lovers, this is the place for pho. NOTE: I have eaten at a lot of pho places, and this is the ONLY time I have ever drank all of the broth. Not sure if MSG had something to do with it, but it was delicious.
Lunch was delicious and the servers were extremely helpful! The food was prepared and served beautifully, and the atmosphere was very welcoming. I definitely recommend to anyone who wants affordable and delicious pho in the area!
Ok, my qualifications as a pho connoisseur aren't impressive but hey, I've eaten at least 50 bowls of pho in my lifetime maybe? My usual places for pho: Pho Dat Thanh, An Loi, or Mekong Delta. I've also had Pho 75 in Rockville & College Park, as well as Pho 95 in Ritchie Plaza and Pho Pasteur in Catonsville. That's my pho resume right there. Pho Van had a good broth, really hit the spot. I don't know what it was, but I didn't want my pho experience to end and seriously considered ordering another bowl when I was down to the last few noodles. The two male owners watched me slurp down every last bit of that broth. I didn't know I could feel that way about pho, haha. They have standard pho bowls and also a pretty long list of special beverages. The bathroom was simple but clean, which made me feel secure about my food. It's not too busy too, so you can come here and quietly bury your face in a bowl of pho without the fear of running into someone you know, haha.

This is my first time going to Frederick Road on my own and since it was my day off yesterday, I decided to go to numerous places there before dropping lunch off at my brother's work. This place was the first because I love Mediterranean foods and I heard this place takes a while to cook their food according to some Yelpers here. Thanks fellow Yelpers! :) I ordered their Falafel Flatbread, Chicken and Beef Schwarma and the Lamb Gyro. They said it'll take 20-30 minutes. Perfect! I walked to some nearby places (Reviews coming after this!) and came back in about 25 minutes. The food still wasn't ready so I went to a place I didn't have bookmarked then came back again. Food was ready! It took about 30-35 minutes for the food to get done. Mind you, all of the place's tables were filled with people so I understood. I drove to my brother's work which took about 20 minutes and decided to try out the Lamb Gyro. It was fantastic. The gyro was packed with tender and juicy lamb and the bread was a bit chewy, which I love. I gave the Chicken and Beef Schwarma to my brother and another worker so I don't know how it tasted. I did have half of the Falafel Flatbread and it was different. When people say Falafel, I automatically think fried balls of chickpeas and spices. I'm sure many others think the same! But maybe I'm wrong to always think of it that way. Maybe I'm slightly ignorant when it comes to Falafel? :( Anyways, the flatbread had hummus on it. Maybe some people call Hummus, Falafel and vice versa? Either way it was pretty good. Just not what I was expecting lol. Definitely a good place to eat at if you're around the area.
Was looking forward to eating here and was not disappointed! Located on the main street through the heart of Catonsville. The owner was very nice and gave us falafels on the house as first time customers. Had the chicken tikka and the base sauce was delicious! And since it's supposed to be a healthy version, no dark meats were used. Portions were good--i wasn't uncomfortably full after our meal, which is also a healthy thing. What I didn't to expect to enjoy was the green dressing (?cilantro-based) that was on the side salad. Yummy! I also had the chai tea, but without my usual Splenda, as they only offer natural sugar. Looking forward to try their seasonal Sunday brunch befire they transition to their farmer's market stand!
Great little find ( thanks yelp!). The food and service was excellent. Some of the best falafel I have ever had. Grape leaves (dolmas) were delicious. Lamb kabob was delicious. They were very accommodating that we were there for a birthday party and had brought cake. So nice. Will definitely be back!
